The cider maker (Dan)/chef (Stacey) pair running this family operation are doing truly amazing things well off the beaten path. The food is amazing, flat out. I tried the "Olympic 2024" jambon beurre special (and it was the best version I have had in years), and the Cottonwood pizza was spectacular. The way components are thoughtfully chosen from mostly local or house-sourced ingredients is stunning in and of itself. There is a level of culinary execution found here that you would expect, but find lacking, in many cities considered "food vacations." The incredible food pairs both admirably and comparatively with the ciders. The tap menu (consisting of mostly local ingredient-focused ciders) truly shines, with so many excellent options for a variety of taste preferences that it's difficult to say which is best (aside from personal preference). Personally, I found their Strawberry Rhubarb cider to be one of the best I have found nationally. This is definitely worth going a bit off your route, no matter how much of a cider or food aficionado you may be. The setting is a 4th generation farm (including Greg, the obligatory amazing farm dog), and the tasting room is comfortably decorated in farmcore crossed with a modern vibe. Honestly, if it weren't for the visible cider-making process happening just off the dining area floor (a plus IMHO), you could be excused thinking the tasting room was located in a variety of major cities. Fantastic find on our road trip. We sampled four of the 12 ciders; all of them were delicious. Pizza and dessert were excellent as well. The co-owner Heather showed us around a bit and was very patient with our questions. We are so glad we stopped! Great local place. read more

This place was a awesome find! We were traveling from Michigan to Montana and found the Cider House on Harvests Hosts. Dan does a great job of creating quality ciders ( my wife and I really LOVED the Pepper Berry, Hop and the Pear ciders. Also the Hopped cider was delicious if you enjoy hoppy beer). We both had pizzas that were delicious and the kids really enjoyed their grilled cheese sandwiches. read more
