Customer service! I was treated extremely rudely! We arrived at 12:00 and the gentleman at the counter was going to charge us a $15 early check in fee. He said check-in was at 1:00 pm. We travel every year ( going between 18 states and 18 different rv parks) and have Never been told we were too early, if the space was available. He was very condescending and exhibited an aggressive attitude and said he knew 3,000 other campgrounds and they all had an early check in fee. We have been to this rv park several times, over the last four years, and it has always been one of our favorites. I have never been treated like this. This will be the last time we stay here! The icing on the cake is, my husband is a Vietnam Vet, and for him to be treated so disrespectful, on this memorial day weekend, is abhorrent. read more

Don't stay here, my husband made a reservation online for a month in advance at 9:30 at night. He got a conformation for it that said this doesn't garuntee a spot until you check in. It made a revervarion for the day that he made it a month before we would be there. We called them and they told us we were just out of luck and lost 50 bucks. We love this campground and I've never had any issues. This time we went at the beginning of October and it's decorated for Halloween, which is so adorable. The people are super friendly and guided us to our site and helped us pull in as we have a class and we're towing a trailer. Love love love it here and will definitely keep coming back! read more

Most unfriendly host I've ever encountered. My husband arrived at our campsite before me, as we were traveling in two vehicles. He had unhitched, and I came with our dogs and kids. I stopped at the RV to unload, and the host drove down in a golf cart to absolutely berate me for my car sticking out on the lane a little bit. I told him, repeatedly, I wasn't parked there... I was just unloading. He pointed at my feet, which were still in the car, and said I was parked, as my foot wasn't on the brake. I was strapping on my walking boot, as my foot is broken. He wanted my car moved instantly. (No one was being blocked or waiting on me). After the kids cleared the car, I began to drive to the parking area he waved me towards. He chased me down again in his golf cart, saying I was going the wrong way. I was only about 20' from the parking area, but he made me circle the park. Next encounter: I went to walk my dogs in the designated area. They saw my daughter, got excited, and jerked too hard on the leash. I face-planted hard. I had grass in my mouth, my whole front side hurting... I looked up to see the man pass me on his golf cart and not stop to see if I'm ok. (Two sprained shoulders, two scraped knees) . This host is beyond rude. I can't rate him low enough. The park itself is clean and tidy. The spaces are very, very tight. It's handy to Columbia. read more

Camped for 2 nights for Mizzou Homecoming. Got there 28 minutes before 1pm and they charged us an early check in fee. The park was almost empty when we got there. Sites are very close together. Had to stand between the neighbors patio chairs to hook up my water. Roads are paved but in very poor condition filled with large potholes. You can rent a fire pit but sites are so small no safe place to have them. They ask you the size of your rig. I would exaggerate! Nose of my truck was in the road. Nice private RV park outside Columbia Missouri. It was built 25 years ago so the sites are close together and tight. I knew that from the reviews prior to booking, but chose it because they take pride in keeping the park clean and well maintained. The park definitely shows their pride of ownership. The laundry room was immaculate and so well cared for. Totally impressed with cleanliness and overall appearance!!! Sam was very friendly and helpful when checking me in and telling me about the park. Really appreciated his information. We were there for two nights and the second night was packed. Very hot and it did rain, but we enjoyed our stay at Cottonwoods. It's a very popular rv park and a great stop over in our journey to Yellowstone. Really enjoyed the serenity of the park!! read more

My recent encounter with Cottonwoods RV Resort has left me utterly disappointed and disgusted, as their service was marred by deceptive policies, unprofessional behavior and childish behavior. It is disheartening to witness a company that prioritizes playing games and leaning on diplomatic responses over addressing the reality of their actions. From the outset, their reservation process raised concerns with their non-industry standard policy of requiring a 10-day notice for cancellations. This policy, as I soon discovered, served as a warning sign of their intentions to hold onto customers' money while offering limited options for resolution. It became evident that their primary objective was not to provide a fair and transparent service but rather to maximize their own gains at the expense of customer satisfaction. Adding insult to injury, when my wife attempted to discuss our concerns with their staff, they not only exhibited unprofessional behavior but also acted defensively, as if they were being attacked. Despite my wife maintaining her composure (while slightly elevating the pitch of her voice, but never yelling or personally attacking the person on the phone), they manipulated the situation by leaning on diplomatic responses that failed to address the reality of their actions. This tactic of deflecting and avoiding accountability only further erodes trust and demonstrates a lack of integrity on their part. It's truly sad to see this behavior come from a "business". When I personally reached out to express my frustration (and also notify that I will post my factual experiences online), the "manager" absurdly claimed that my communication was threatening merely because I suggested the possibility of visiting their premises to discuss the matter in person. This response showcased a lack of professionalism and an unwillingness to engage in mature dialogue. The "manager's" attempts to justify their cancellation policy under the guise of protecting customers are nothing more than smoke and mirrors. By allowing customers to reschedule their reservations while vehemently refusing any possibility of cancellation, they revealed their true motive: to retain customers' funds while offering a hollow option for rebooking. This self-serving approach contradicts their claims of protecting customers' interests and exposes their disregard for providing a genuinely satisfactory experience. What troubles me even more is the realization that my experience is not an isolated incident. Other reviewers have expressed similar encounters, outlining the same deceptive policies, unprofessional behavior, and manipulative tactics employed by Cottonwoods RV Resort. It is disheartening to see a pattern of behavior that consistently prioritizes the company's interests over the well-being and satisfaction of their customers. In their attempts to deflect accountability, the company may try to argue that we were rude or difficult to deal with. However, it is essential to clarify that we were hung up on before any reasonable customer service was provided. I used this facility over a year ago and the place was great. Easy registration good prices and lots of help. BUT, I tried multiple times to get a reservation and the first conversation I had was awful. I was told I had to go through an application process and they would call me back IF I QUALIFY. I called Mutual times, left messages and got NO RESPONSE. I don't think that is very good business. So I guess they could be under different management?? read more

Pool was super clean. Store had everything you might need, plus wine and ice cream. Every worker was super nice. Very clean and well maintained. Camped in our tent and loved the site. Very clean and nice smaller than it looks on website. Very hot showers and nice laundry room. Great they give AAA discount. I was not happy they told me their pool was opened year around when I booked the park specifically as I swim. When I checked in, told me pool was opened, front desk girl said pool opened. The pool was not opened and had a lock on it. Very disappointed as that is the reason I booked the park. Pool had pump running and looked very clean, told me pool was closed due to no chemicals which I knew that was not true. So my conclusion is they just did not want to take the time to open the lock on gate so that is my only complaint. Site 83 is the best site! You have a concrete patio and it looks like you have a front yard (common space) with green grass and gazebo. It is close to the playground and pool. Quiet and close to interstate but not too much road noise. read more

Checked in ok. When setting up had issue with our electrical cord. Started generator to operate air conditioner since it was 97. Received text asking us to leave as another guest had complained about noise from generator. There is no mention of no generator allowed. There were air conditioners running that were louder than our generator. There were more isolated spaces that were available but management was not willing to work with us even tho they were aware of our problem. We didn't want to stay where not welcome. Well after being there a month we asked to stay one more week do to a problem with my feet. We were thanked for staying and they were happy we enjoyed our stay. Then they said there were booked solid and no we had to leave. Then my daughter called to see if any thing changed because there were a lot of empty spots. She was told there were 3 canceling and she could get a spot for 1 to 4 weeks with no problem. So I asked again and was told they were full. So mt daughter booked a week, went there and paid and said we could use her spot. We drove on to the spot my daughter had rented and parked and was told we had to leave. We were told we were there under false pretense and they had never told us we could not extend our stay. They had never came to us and said we were a problem. They did not want us there and we must leave. Then called the Sherif who threaten to arrest us if we did not leave. Every thing they said to us was a lie, I even have email from them saying I could not extend my stay and they told Sherif that was not true. What horrible people! We should have realized this when we arrived and it took 30 minutes for them to tell us we could stay the first month. They were very rude saying if we wanted to be there a month we should have made reservations. We talked to several other people staying there that were not happy and were also lied to. O well, just learned how bad people can really be. read more

FIVE STARS well deserved. As far as RV parks are concerned, this one is a hidden gem. We communicated with Sheila regarding our arrival and then again when we were going to be a day late for a stop over in St. Louis. She was very accommodating. We were assigned a huge pull through that fit our 44 footer plus our toad. If we are ever in this area again, this is the park to stay in. On a side note, we visited Devil's Ice Box while there and it was impressive and the fact that the hike and park entrance was free of charge was welcomed. Thank you Missouri tax payers. read more

Our stay was pretty good, the front office staff were delightful. We enjoyed all of them. However, it was our fault that we had two many sides ides at our spot. We had sold one and it hwas gone on Tues. We had bought another side x side on Mon. Late aft. Which we took home on Friday. When we moved the can am out we had the sie x side on a trailer which we pulled into our site completely out of the way. All extras were very short term. We were confronted by an individual who did not identify himself to us who was very very angry. He said we had to have everything out immediately. We explained to him the cam am would be gone in 10 min. We would like to keep the other here until Friday since we couldn't leave then because my husband was doing cancer treatments daily. We would take it home on Friday and come back Sunday to finish cancer treatments He was very rude and his anger level was completely over the top . We are seniors and we actually frightened by this workers attitude. He wouldn't accept that all the temp stuff was going to be gone in short. Very easy to access off I-70 (3miles north). The management was responsive and actually returned a call. Received a very lengthy and informative text regarding after hours checkin. All the hook-ups were well maintained and easy to access. However, the restroom code was of no use given the restrooms aren't open Thursday's and the internet code was incorrect, so really good effort but poor execution. Probably off season issues, but with many campers in place it's challenging to have closed restrooms and no internet. read more

We stop here every year on our way west. This is s quiet, clean, lovely place and the best RV Park we encounter on our trip from Florida to Colorado. I have never had to unhook my tow car from behind my 45 foot RV contrary to other comments. Big rig pull through spots as well as sites for smaller RVs. People are extremely welcoming and friendly. The fire flies put on a wonderful show at night in the field next to the park and emergency always look forward to staying here. read more

Sites are way way too close felt like your smashed and squeezed like a sardine .First time at this park will be my last. Used shower on Friday dirty. dirty shower curtains replace them. Bathroom was still dirty by Monday. Gross. Waste basket full mirror filthy and showers not clean at all. Use some bleach. The grounds are well kept and that's what makes being here so relaxing. A beautiful gazebo and an inviting (çlean )pool. The community room offers books, jigsaw puzzle and workout equipment. Community is a good word to describe the employees and the management. They have special event weekends you don't want to miss! I attended a mother's day breakfast and the food and company was great! I would not recommend this park. I am not sure why the owners were upset with my parents as their story changed numerous times. Don't make them mad or they will call the police, lie and have you escorted off the property. Definitely not the high point of our visit. read more

The hookups are CRAP. They are not labeled correctly and it takes 10 MINUTES to figure them out plus the site on top of it. AND there is no cable. Yes there is a swimming pool and internet but very bad start. Stayed here 3 years ago and don't remember it being this hard. Maybe its the site or something???? read more

I give this RV park two stars. One star because it actually exists and a pleasant woman answered the phone and made a reservation for us, and one star because this RV park would work for you if your RV was in fact a tiny camper. My husband and I rolled in at 9pm and it was dark. I should have known there was going to big trouble when the woman on the phone reserved two spots of our 40 ft RV and truck being towed. The park was very dark (that is OK for the camping experience) but the spots were poorly marked and my husband had to run around with a flash light. The "roads" were very narrow and because the spots were small people parked their cars on the "road". When we finally found our spot(s) they were obstructed by low hanging tree branches, and the turn was so tight that we would have had to unhitch our truck to make the turn. So after thirty minutes of maneuvering to find our reserved spot(s) we drove out and on the highway and slept at a rest stop. If driving cross county just avoid Columbia, MO or park at a rest stop or Walmart. read more

BLESSED Beyond Belief to have found this park! We checked into this park about mid May expecting to only stay about a week. We just left yesterday after ultimately staying 6 weeks. This is without a doubt one of the BEST run parks we have ever stayed in. This park is family owned and they will literally do anything in their power to make sure everyone in the park is happy and content. *the pictures don't do this place justice, its WAY more beautiful than these pics *the Owners bought the fireworks and put on one of the best private fireworks show we've ever seen....just because *they put on a monthly Ice Cream treat...they buy all the ice cream and toppings and even make their own homemade ice cream. No cost at all to the guests *they put on a Bingo night....totally a blast....we won several gift certificates *they do a monthly Karaoke night and furnish wine and food *every Wednesday morning is Free Doughnuts *when there is a problem of Any kind, they are right there to fix it *the owners are constantly working around the whole park to make sure everything is running smoothly *there is a swimming pool, large pavilion with grills and picnic tables *a couple weeks ago they did a movie night outside on a big screen and we all brought our lawn chairs and watched a great Nicolaus Sparks movie *the park is constantly mowed and maintained. Mark is Always trimming the rose bushes. *We Always felt very comfortable and very safe I could honestly go ON and ON about all of the incredible things they do. The owners literally have hearts of GOLD!! It's also about the community that stays at this park. We feel so blessed to have literally made some life long friends. When we pulled out of this park yesterday I was literally crying like a baby because I didn't want to leave our new "family", both the guests and the owners. I can assure you....we will DEFINITELY be back!! Love these people and the park. I would give them 10 stars if I could. This is a lovely RV park, we stopped for the night. The people were friendly and gave us a great pull through site and we didn't have to unhook the car. It also is black top and level sites a little close but neatly kept with a cement pad when you step out the door. We will be coming back, liked the full hookups.
