    Build your own basket

This was the best thing I have ever found! My best friend lives in Austin and I wanted to send her something for her birthday, and this company was the BEST! Easy to build a basket, SO many cute options (I had the hardest time deciding), and I ordered it only a day before I wanted it delivered and it was no issue! I wish I had more friends in Austin so I could use this service more, I'm obsessed!

Great experience! I ordered a birthday gift online the day before and it arrived on time as scheduled the next day! In between ordering and delivery, I realized I needed to adjust the delivery time so I emailed customer service. I received a prompt reply and was told the time could be easily updated. The gift basket was cute and the items were nicely placed. Overall easy to order and made for a great birthday delivery!

This was the best gift for my little sister turning 21! I don't live in ATX so I just went online and looked for something that could be delivered the same day and Couch Potato came out in my google search. This was the best option, I was able to create a unique gift basket according to my sister's taste, and it was literally delivered within an hour after placing the order online.

How have I lived here for so long and not known this place existed? Not only is this place great for the lazy person, it's also great for the busy person. And, dare I say it, the creative person. Want to send someone a gift? Tired of the typical flowers/cookies/cupcakes treatment? BOOM! Couch Potato Austin to the rescue! I recently sent my dear fiance his own personalized gift basket from Couch Potato, and the experience was awesome. I picked all these random things I knew he would like, they put it in a great looking basket for me, delivered it, and texted me on their way to delivering it (with a photo!). AND, they have online ordering that is super convenient and works it's like a dream folks. Also, they emailed me with questions which I greatly appreciated because my cell phone gets horrible service at my job. In a word, winning. And think of the other options. Rainy Sunday? Sick at home? Car in the shop? Couch Potato Austin is your answer. This definitely will not be the last time I use these wonderful folks.

    Gift Basket was amazing!

However, this time was a lot different and I was able to find the perfect gifts for my friend's birthday as well as fun items for myself. It seems like the selection has remained the same although Atown is keeping up with current and modern trends. For example, there were a lot of ICE based items tucked away as well as current celebrity crushes who are on everybody's minds. The coolest thing I found was a James Talarico candle but other than that, a lot of the items that were for sale were pretty kitschy and I believe they are the same wholesale items I have seen before. I must shoutout the incredibly helpful service from Audrey who went above and beyond to help me find items for my friend's birthday. She was super sweet, and I would've been wandering around the store aimlessly if it wasn't for her direction. Additionally, she even came up with combination gift ideas which was pretty sick. Atown is lucky to have her! I think my PTSD is no longer because of her assistance. Great store, unfortunately high prices. However, no one does it like Atown!

There are 3 or 4 separate areas you can visit and they have things from locally made earrings and art to coasters, desk plates, rubber ducks of famous people, religious candles with random famous people, funny socks, clothes, and so much more. The staff is friendly and outgoing, they even had a woman at the door greeting you and offering you a hand basket if you wanted or needed one. There were 3 or 4 cashiers and at least one lady walking around greeting you and seeing if they could help. It is pricier then your chain store but the products are cooler, unique, and many times locally made. Things you can't get at other stores or amazon. Like so many places, it's one downside is parking. It is a small lot, if you part in front you basically have to back in to spot blocking traffic or back out into traffic. There is a small side lot that is better but you basically have to 3 point turn out of that spot. Always willing to pay a bit more to support local. We don't get out of our area/comfort zone much but we do love this place. #Supportlocal

The refill station at Parker & Scott is probably my new favorite place! They have all kinds of options. One thing I'd never even considered that I saw there...sunscreen! How awesome is that. I just went in this time to get some hand soap, but I will be coming back here for all of our items. I'm hopeful that more people see how great of an option this place is. They also have a lot of fun/unique snacks and beverages. I purchased the hand soap, but also got a thing of dill pickle pistachios...OMG, so good. The clerk was such a lovely human and quite helpful. I will absolutely be back and will be telling all my friends about this place. Great way to shop local! Take your vessels up there and they will tare out the weight on all of them. So cool! Oh, they also have Ridwell, so you can take your batteries, plastic film (grocery bags/zip lock type bags) light bulbs, etc. This place is clearly owned and operated by someone wanting to make a positive impact on their community and world. I was excited to find Parker and Scott during our transition to trying to make our home plastic-free with refillable soaps/detergents/etc and Earth-friendly cosmetics. I hope to never buy another plastic bottle again! The prices are not super marked up from the online prices of these items. They have a really nice set up for a local small business and have opened several similar stores in the area which is a great additional to the Austin community.

They have plenty of parking as they are part of a mall and there is tons of parking stalls. Can't wait to come back and visit this store on my next work trip. I'm not sure if the gentleman who checked me out was the owner or a regular employee. Regardless, he did not have a friendly disposition when checking me out. (I am a woman of color for reference) he didn't even greet me which is a simple courtesy. I had to ask him "hey, how are you today" to which he didn't respond and just told me the balance I owed. My fellow friend (white male) checked out right after me and he greeted him! He also asked him how he wanted his items wrapped. (We both had the same items) If the store itself wasn't so nice and full of good merchandise/gifts I would've given it an even lower rating. To management: please know and remind your employees that even a simple hello goes a long way Edit: This seems to be a trend going years back (looking at reviews) with this business and their discriminatory practices.
