All of my other dogs have been adopted from rescues and shelters. A couple of those rescues, though, have had health or temperament issues that were challenging. We loved those dogs fiercely, but after they passed and it was time to get a new dog, I wanted to ensure I was getting a well bred dog with a reliable temperament. Both as a family pet and for therapy dog work with seniors I work with who have Alzheimer's. I couldn't be more pleased that I chose Karemy. The Jackson's do not overbreed. They have several litters throughout the year such that it isn't a terribly long wait to get a puppy, but not too many litters that the dogs are overbred or the puppies are not well cared for. The puppies are socialized with intentional practices as soon as they are able with kids, other animals, and even bottle feeding to solidify the bond with humans. And because Kathy has been breeding her line for over 20 years, the genetics of the dogs is fantastic. Between that solid foundation of care and socialization, combined with great genetics, you can be assured you are getting a great dog! Our vet says that our yellow Lab, Cosmo, is incredibly well bred. He has good hips and joints, is balanced and is a good example of the breed standard, and doesn't have any obvious health issues. He is also a great size, and as long as we make smart choices about nutrition and exercise, he shouldn't get overly overweight like some Labradors. If you work with this breeder, you will get great communication, a puppy that is well bred and well loved, and you can know that their program is ethical. Thank you for our friend, Cosmo, Karemy! We traveled to pick her up, yet nothing was said about her congenital overbite. It was not apparent and hard to discern because the puppy was black. Also her voice (bark) was very strangled sounding. When I remarked on it, the breeder played it off with, she's been barking this morning. I took her to the contractual vet visit the very next day which is when the vet showed me the malocclusion. I was shocked by the sight of it. And disappointed in myself I hadn't noticed when we picked her up. We returned the puppy the very next day. The breeder, though having "years as a Breeder of Merit" according to the AKC (and herself) blamed us for choosing "the runt" and berated us for representing we had labs before. I suppose the point was to project blame on us for choosing a "defective" animal and to make us feel badly that we were returning the puppy. She returned half of the purchase price. When I returned the AKC registration, she refunded most of the other half. In text messages exchanged in the interim, she once again berated me for the puppy had been "passed over" by subsequent potential customers because she did not have the AKC registration in hand. We are not interested in making unfounded accusations. These are the facts of our now-terminated association.

I grew up with dogs, but my wife and daughter barely knew bones from barks. Max was actually a really good puppy, but our efforts to train him were unsuccessful despite the review of several online resources. So we of course looked online only to have a difficult time figuring out who was going to be a good fit for training Max. A lot of websites had photos of larger dogs like german shepherds. Max had nearly topped out at 16 lbs and looks like a stick with ears when wet. He is shy around other dogs, and we worried about putting him in a school with other larger dogs. Then we found Kass Kennels & Training. Kass had loads of testimonials with lots of different dogs. They also had a video on their Instagram showing dogs learning to "place" and avoid distraction with the aid of chickens (NW Arkansas has lots of chickens - thank you Don Tyson). The pooch in training would reach the stage where they could sit in the middle of a chicken pen and ignore all the clucking, hunting, and pecking going on. Rocky Balboa used chickens while training to beat Apollo Creed, so Kass had to be awesome. We enrolled Max in a 14-day course. He stayed at the training camp, but during his time there, we were updated with emails and videos of his progress, which we could see was transformative. When we finally got Max back, Spencer and staff gave us some training equipment, a K&H cooling cot, and a set of instructions for ongoing training. Max was of course happy to see us and actually excited to show us his new ability to follow commands and walk next to us without a leash. Max will "place" and hold his position until released if we need him to be out of the way in certain situations, like when a delivery man or trick or treaters are at the door. One of my favorite things is that Kass also boards the dogs it has trained. We have used this service, and while he is there, Max receives a training booster because he participates in the training program with the other new dogs. We have referred others to Kass, and they have all thanked us for the great recommendation. Our family is lucky to have found Kass Kennels & Training for our wonderful cavapoo Max, and we recommend it for anyone looking for a school and possible future kennel for their furry family member. #yelpnwa

We traded some messages with Spencer during training, and I was hoping for an emphasis on off leash recall, stay, and heel so that we could spend more time on the bike trails around Bentonville. Spencer let us know that he'd like to keep Gracie a few extra days to cement some of the behaviors we'd requested... the program is not a cookie cutter and is tied to dog's progress. So after 17 days Spencer brought Gracie to the house and made sure the handover/transition back to us went perfect. As to the results... we couldn't have asked for any more.... Gracie is focused on the task at hand. It's been about ten days and we have been reinforcing the training every day. Today I was able to walk Gracie off leash around the Bentonville square and down the Razorback Greenway. She was not distracted by bikes, walkers, other dogs, or even the squirrel that ran across the path in front of us. It was unbelievable. Thanks Spencer!

Just needed heart worm medication for a new dog. Required a physical visit so I made an appointment…read more(which is fine). After an hour past of waiting past the appointment time the vet finally comes in. He immediately grabs for my dogs ear which surprised the dog and snaps towards him with a little growl. He's a super friendly dog, but he scared him. Instead of trying to calm the dog or even bring treats into play which typically works for all dogs, he instead throws his hand up and says "I'm done". I understand needing to be cautious, but he put zero effort in trying to examine my dog's health. Afterward, I try to finally buy the medication, but I can't because their credit card system was down so we left empty handed. I take the dog instead to the other vet in town and got an actual exam done with no problems. I paid the fees for the services given and medication. Fast forward and I get a bill for Office call and exam. I would normally understand this fee but no exam was given and it cost twice as much as the place that actually examined the dog. I called and kindly asked they waive the fee given the circumstances, but the person on the phone was adamant the vet "examined" my dog and even told me the notes he wrote down about the visit. Again, he didn't check his ears, mouth, lungs, muscles...anything. He probably only looked at the dog 30 seconds. But since he "saw" the dog, no waiving the fee I was told. Either way I'm paying the ridiculous fee, but I'm leaving negative reviews everywhere to properly reflect my visit and interaction with this place.
