They saved my toy poodle, Hamish…read more I called my regular vet, who had seen 11-year-old Hamish (and our other dogs) since he was a tiny puppy after he was attacked by another dog. I asked if I can bring him in right away. They said, "We can't fit you in. Sorry." I begged and said he might die. They did not care. They told me they might be able to fit me in the NEXT DAY in the afternoon. I slammed down the phone and said I'd never be back. I called Wedington Animal Hospital, and they didn't ask any questions. They said to bring him in IMMEDIATELY. I did, and they saved him. He was there for a couple of days, and they made sure he would recover and be OK. They will always be our vets as long as we live in this area. Hamish loved the people, and he's now 12 years old and as feisty as ever. Thanks for taking care of our little guy, Wedington Animal Hospital. You are the place we always recommend to people who ask for references. (I also tell them who NOT to go to ... *cough* Cornerstone Animal Hospital ... *cough*.)

I was talking to her coworker about something not even worked related because we heard the conversation. When we were finally greeted the woman asked if we had weighed our dog. I've never weighed my dog in my life myself when I've gone to a vet, so I thought it was weird that they even expected us to do that. Just overall not a good vibe when we got there and no not didn't even do the appointment.

Charged me $84.84. During the first part of their visit, they spent time petting him and giving him treats. They then tried to look at his teeth, but as soon as they lifted up his lip, he growled at the lady, she pulled back, and they didn't attempt to do anything else. The second time I brought him in he was medicated and a lot more calm than the first time. They were still unable to give him his exam. At the time I was stressed and in a rush so I didn't look at the invoice but later I found that I was charged $57.00 on my first visit for a wellness exam that I never received. I left the office with no notes about my dog's general health and was charged for a service I did not receive. When I brought this concern to the front desk staff, they told me that they were able to give him a "partial" exam and I was eligible for no refund. They told me they could not give him vaccinations unless he had an exam. Therefore, because they gave him vaccinations, that meant they technically gave him an exam. When I brought this concern to the vet, she told me that they were only able to do a "partial" exam and she could therefore only give me a partial refund. The vet techs were only able to barely lift my dogs lip because he was uncomfortable at their clinic. I don't consider that a partial exam or discussing brief history I know about this dog a partial exam either. The vet told me, "I'm sorry you didn't receive an email after your visit." She sent it 15 days after my initial appointment and the report says, "Limited exam due to muzzle." The muzzle was put on my dog on the 2nd visit before the vaccinations. Not on the first "wellness visit". With my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, they were able to press on his lower stomach, look inside his ears, inspect his teeth fully, and give me updates on his health at the clinic that day. With my German, I received no information in clinic, didn't receive an email, and didn't see them perform an exam. What this experience tells me is there was no true exam done my dog. According to Mount Comfort Veterinary staff, they are required to give my dog a full examination before administering him vaccinations. They were unable to give him a full exam and therefore have jeopardized the safety of my dog because they decided to give him vaccinations before a full wellness exam. The first employee told me I would receive no refund and then the vet told me I could receive a partial refund which tells me that it is possible for them to give me a full refund. They just chose not to. While I understand and respect that these technicians needed to be cautious when dealing with my dog because he's an 85 pound, nervous German Shepherd, it is completely unacceptable to deny the fact that I didn't receive an exam. I don't see any reason as to why I shouldn't receive my $57.00 refund. I was refunded 50%. I could've used my $57.00 to take him to another veterinary clinic with the medication I purchased from Mount Comfort and hopefully have a better experience somewhere else. I don't feel confident going forward with this clinic. Hoping to find another that can more effectively and confidently accommodate for my dog.
