It is the…read morequick or emergency "go-to" place (convenience/gas) on the island, just at the end of the Odell Williamson Bridge as you come in from the mainland over the Intercostal Waterway. If you are looking to make big grocery store trips to get a big bunch of food or supplies for the week, you probably are going to head to the Lowes Foods right back over the bridge or the Food Lions near Sunset Beach or Shallotte. But for quick things, a few food items or convenience store things, beer, etc. then Sheffield's fits the bill. A huge walk in beer cooler, always nice especially when it is so hot outside! There is a small seafood shop in the back as well. Quick ice stop here is probably the main reason we see it so much. Very nice people working, great location, and handy items make Sheffield's one place you will probably visit many times if you make it out to OIB anytime for a vacation.

Touristy store which charges an arm and leg for items. Think 7-11 across the street from the…read morebeach. This place is VERY small, so it's hard to move around in there if it's crowded. If you run out of bread, soda, or cereal, it's easy to stop in here to pick it up. Oh and don't forget the snow globes and other touristy items you can't live without. I was going to give this place 3 stars, but it deserves an extra one for the great location! There are a few parking spots, but most of the patrons walk here. You know those coolers on wheels? Here's a great way to use one - roll on over to pick up a few cold ones and then roll on out to the beach!

I chose the hamburger box and Majordomo got a salad with chicken on it. A box includes your meat, coleslaw and one side. I ordered the tater tots. My hamburger was good and big. His salad had a lot of chicken on it and they had several low fat dressings which surprised me. (If you know the south you know why I'm surprised at that.). Now this isn't fast food so you might have to wait awhile unless you call your order in first. Would I come back? Whenever I visit my daughter I will. Yall have to try it.

It aligned perfectly with our drive and even allowed us to charge the car while we shopped! When we walked in I quickly knew it would be a bit overwhelming. It was packed... I think they said the crowd was due to Bike Week. They had everything but on STEROIDS! Jerky, BBQ, Fudge, Coffee, snacks, clothing, jewelry... you name it, they had it! Even the bathrooms were on steroids, so many stalls with lights to show occupied vs available. It wasn't a place for me to go with my husband. I needed to have my sister & sister-cousin to really enjoy the experience. There was one disappointment... they don't sell the fresh tortillas they make in the middle of the store. I'll definitely be back!
