I was told $150 on the phone (I had to ask, price was not given up front), but was told after the work was done that it was $200. He had to drill the lock, said could not pick it. No mention of any price increase or upcharge for that, and besides, it's not on the customer to make sure the lock can be picked... isn't that the service being provided? To get me back inside the house? If it needs drilled, then drill, but why is that an upcharge without any explanation at all?? He also said something about the door being "a new door" ?? Again, it's not on the customer to make sure to have a door that's easy to work with. It's a standard door, nothing fancy or complex at all. And no exceptions were mentioned at any time. Nothing was ever said about being $50 more for any specific type of door, door knob, or door lock. After all, I did call a locksmith... Anyway, I should have been given the price increase info before the work, giving me the option to say "thanks, no thanks" or accept the new higher amount. But, I was not given that opportunity. I was just told $150 over the phone, then told I owed $200, after the work was done. I certainly don't have $200 to spare (or even $150), but I needed the locksmith service, so... To be fair, the locksmith was pleasant enough, and the work was sufficient enough, but I can't help but feel like I have been taken advantage of. I won't use this company again.
