We came in on a Saturday morning expecting a nice breakfast, but unfortunately had a very…read moredisappointing experience. After being seated, we waited 20 minutes just to receive menus. We eventually had to ask for them ourselves, only to be told they had to "find more menus." That was the first sign that things weren't running well. An hour later, we still hadn't received any food. When we asked how much longer it would be, we were simply told, "A few more minutes." At that point, we decided to leave without ever being served our meal. To make matters worse, I had to ask twice just to get my coffee refilled. What was most disappointing was the lack of customer service. When we informed the staff that we were leaving because we had been waiting so long, there was no apology, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and no attempt to make the situation right. This is the first time in my life I have ever left a restaurant. Long waits can happen, especially on busy weekends, but poor communication and a complete lack of concern for customers are much harder to overlook. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be returning. If I could leave zero stars I would.

She tried to explain and asked if they can give her a large cup to pour it into, they said no they have water available. Now at that point I decided rather than argue we'd go somewhere else. I can only assume it was the owner that shouted over from behind the counter, great job, thanks for doing your job. That comment was uncalled for and rude. I've been to this establishment when the previous owner was there and it was great, I will never darken their doorstep again. Pitiful customer treatment in a small town is the death of any restaurant.

By the end of it all we were tired and hungry and looking for healthy. We ended up driving back and stopped in Cobourg as it was a good sized town and had to have some decent eateries. We looked up places to eat and Cobourg diner seemed to have a lot of choices ... especially since I was keen on having a healthy salad. The server was excellent - friendly, funny, and made us feel right at home. When I saw liver on the last page of the menu, I was sold. So was my friend. It was excellent and a rather large portion.
