Big place for a quick breakfast. Large parking lot allowed us to pull in our rig. Seat yourself sign at the door and easy to find a spot on Sunday morning. Service was fast and friendly. Menu is small but I only wanted whatever that amazing smell was that was coming from the kitchen. You could smell it outside and one whiff would have anyone drawn in. My eggs Benedict was hot fresh with a perfect requested temp pouched egg. Hot potatoes and on peameal. The peameal was good. Just thin pork tenderloin. Only downside was my husband's scrambled eggs either weren't real or they were overcooked served out of a steam table. Very in appetizing. The place got busy not long after we arrived, but heck, we got our order in ahead of the rush, right? We were told: "Coming soon", "Won't be long now", "You're up next", while we watched in dismay as large parties that arrived 15-20 mins after us, got served first. My parents and I stopped at The Ranch today for lunch. My parents usually stop at another restaurant back in Norwood and they both agreed this place was better. I think the Norwood place just permanently lost their business! The restaurant is surprisingly big for being in the middle of no where and must have been renovated recently. The tables are a decent amount apart from each other than you're not tripping over other people to walk through the dining room. The waitresses were very nice and quick. The menu had quite a bit of variety, although we all went with the all day breakfast. The prices were extremely reasonable. And the portions were large. And the best part ... the washrooms are nice! And roomy! And clean! You know you've found a good place when you like the bathrooms and aren't grossed out using them! I'm sure we'll be stopping here again when we drive by. If you're even on highway 7 between Havelock and Marmora, definitely stop in. Oh, and they serve Kawartha Dairy ice cream!! read more

Have eaten here several times. Some of the servers are friendly, however the majority of the servers are very rude and rather ignorant. Food is either really good or really bad.... there is no consistency with food quality. Not sure if it's the cooks or ingredient quality, but raw pancakes and omelettes at any restaurant is not acceptable. read more

We had a very, very awful server, who provided TERRIBLE customer service. I stopped in on a busy trip and was on the phone with my bank, we seemed to annoy her right off the start. Well, I'm not going to talk while I'm driving. Next, I ordered potato skins without bacon, because I'm a lifetime vegetarian. They came loaded with bacon. I mentioned I was a veg, asked her not to just scrape off the bacon and bring back the same food. She rudely snapped, "well it's going to be another 20 minutes then". Food should never be reserved anyway! The potato skins came unusually quick, but considering the server told me not to worry, that she would take care of me, I figured it was fine. I ate 3, and and a half of the four potato skins, then saw ANOTHER PIECE OF BACON, which means they did actually just scrape all the bacon off and re-serve me the original skins. I asked the server for the manager, and pointed out the bacon, she said she would take it off my bill and I stated that I, indeed would not paying for them. While I was in the washroom, she told my mother that "I must have really liked them, because I ate all of it" and that she shouldn't have taken it off my bill. My mother informed her that I didn't see the bacon until the end, and she reiterated that I must have "really liked" them anyway! She had a rude attitude right from the beginning and the manner in which she handled my concerns was awful. The only saving grace for this place was my mom loved her burger. To scrape off and RE-SERVE bacon to a vegetarian was pathetic!!!! Then to be so vile with your service is atrocious. She needs to be behind a desk somewhere and not ever deal with the public. read more

We stop here as often as possible while travelling Hwy 7 to and from Ottawa and we love it! Very reasonable family style restaurant - they had a fire couple years ago and now a whole new part has been rebuilt. Delicious and very reasonable with fast courteous service. A nice thing is their all day breakfast menu if u feel so inclined! Its popular with locals so can get busy at times - but that's always the sign of a good restaurant! read more

Not my favourite, but we will probably continue to go since there are not many options for a quick meal. My dad and I stopped in last week for burgers, he ordered the Heart stopper, I ordered the Banquet. We both clearly pointed out on the menu what we wanted. When the bill came (just after our meal arrived, it seemed like they were trying to get rid of us) We were surprised to see that I had been charged for the "Special" and my dad had been charged for fries. When we asked the server why this was she said it was because the burger didn't come with fries and my dad asked for them. In fact, fries were never mentioned when we were ordering, she just assumed that we wanted them and then charged us extra. I thought I wasn't getting fries with my burger and honestly could have done without them, which is why I didn't order the Special. It's less about the extra charge, it was after all only a couple of dollars each, and more about the fact that the server did not communicate anything with us and then flat out lied. It's a shame because I do like their burgers. read more

Went in for fish and chips today. They were average. Told the waitress that I wanted to pay up front so that I could purchase some things up there. I have done this before. She said no, that I would have to pay separately - in other words, twice on my debit card. I said fine, that I wouldn't spend more money at the front. I left without going to the front and without leaving a tip. It costs me money every time I use my debit card and I'm not wasting my money because they have some stupid policy. At this point I am uncertain whether I will go back there, as I usually have been going about twice weekly and taking people with me. read more
