Because that previous experience is so much fun and interesting working with great staff and wonderful residents, I thought volunteering there would be the perfect place. I called the office and spoke with a woman. I told her what I wanted to do but she was very rude. She transferred the call to another person. The next woman was just as rude as the previous one. I decided not to volunteer with Eastmont. I didn't want to surround myself with rude and grumpy staff. I did get a call from upper management. She was very kind. I appreciated her apologizing for her rude employees. Eastmont gives great care to its residents. I hope that never changes. Since renovating their facility/home, it is a beautiful and comfortable environment. I gave them a lower review so they will learn to hold people accountable. I believe everyone should be treated with kindness and being polite.

Mom played Bingo and won snacks, watched movies, was involved in Tasty Tuesday, participated in wonderful craft projects and there was also a a variety of entertainment brought in for the residents. Carol was a very caring person who made the residents feel special with every interaction. Sadly, Carol is leaving Eastmont May 2024 (budget cuts?). Eastmont will not be the same without Carol!

The help is constantly complaining about being underpaid and there is a lot of turnover. Most of the residents only leave there rooms for dining and spend most of their time in their rooms alone. My dad was in their "extra level" of memory care when he had a fall. I got a call from a concerned…read morecare giver four hours after his fall (not sure about that amount of time having requested documentation about his fall three times and been ignored or brushed off). I asked the caregiver to make sure he gets Tylenol, sees a nurse and please call me if the pain continues. I checked in the next day, 24 hours later not having heard a word from anyone, and was told by another caregiver that he was in horrible pain, and had to be held up to go to the bathroom, my dad used the bathroom independently before his fall. Upon getting there I asked them to call 911 where he was transported to the hospital and diagnosed with a fractured back and hip. So he layed there 36 hours screaming in pain with a fractured back and hip and I was contacted one time without even a suggestion to take him to the hospital until 36 hours after his fall. I had asked one of the many rotating directors and people in leadership what my dad gets for the $10,000 a month and she couldn't look me in the eye and formulate an answer. There were mulitple times when my dad lived there that I was concerned about things like his teeth not getting cleaned, the room being a mess, him never being out of his room or his chair; but the final level of negligence is infuriating. I can't say that the Bickford is to blame for my dad's fall (they won't provide any documentation of it) but I can say that letting a man sit there in that amount of pain for 36 hours, not being seen by a nurse or director is negligent.

Our parent has been a resident for quite some time. We were told the dining hall would accommodate…read morea health condition, which after moving our parent in we found out they do not. Changes to living conditions are foisted upon our parent, with no explanation and little forewarning. Communication from management is obviously lacking. As a resident, our parent has little control, no voice, and are at the mercy of management. If we speak up, we were warned by management our parent will be asked to move out.

I was referred to Oasis from a home health nurse taking care of my parents who had sold their home…read morerecently and moved to independent living. Things had not gone well since the move and their independent living facility asked them to move to a place with a higher level of care. I was informed of all this a few days before I left on vacation and I was in a panic of how I was going to research, call, and schedule all the facilities that may have openings. Kelsi contacted me in the evening when i was at home and she gathered all the information and immediately found me options and scheduled a tour for the next day. She was truly amazing and blew me away! I even colored my roots at home while texting her after 9 pm at night. Kelsi even rescheduled her meeting so she could join me at my first tour. Then while I was on vacation, she scheduled tours with my siblings and parents, all while keeping me in the loop of what was happening. I scheduled more tours when I returned from vacation and everything went seemlessly. I could not have done any of this without her. Kelsi is an angel and made my difficult task of moving my parents to assisted living so much more manageable. Now, they have a place that can meet their needs and hopefully make them happy. She even got quotes from packers and organizers. I would totally recommend her services to anyone! Thank you!
