My experience yesterday was not as satisfying. Unfortunately, after many years, I had to put my other dog down. He's been acting odd running into things and circling. My online vet advised that it's likely he has a brain tumor or dog dementia. My dog did not have any dignity left, and after prayer we decided as a family it was best for him to be put down, When I tried to get him out of his crate to weigh him, so that I could pre-pay, one of the gals in the office asked me what's wrong with my dog. This was a troubling question as it was clear, and she knew, that I was upset, having to have made the question decision to put him to sleep. After he passed away, and I was trying to pay the price that I was quoted on the phone was suddenly doubled. That was troubling as well. This is a situation and grief is difficult. There was a time during sedation that my dog was shaking and appearing to have a seizure and I was not helped. Luckily, this didn't last too long, and I was able to comfort my dog as he relaxed.

I sat with my dog back in their kennel, all day long, so I had ample opportunity to observe the interactions of staff with each other and with patients. And it was all good. They called to report to me each day upon her condition - I didn't have to chase them down! As far as diagnoses go, all I have to say is, they diagnosed MY dog correctly AND promptly. And although, ultimately, she did not prevail, when that sad moment came, they did not charge me anything more for the euthanasia itself. Moreover, they made a paw print of her paw and presented it to me as a memorial. Also free of charge.
