I will never use this Vet again! After several years of my cat having bathroom issues and telling them about the strange things he does and that I thought he was having a problem in that area, the vets would just shrug it off and say "Cats do strange things." And not look closer to the area even after he had to have an enema 1 to 1.5 years ago, they didn't ultrasound the area or anything. For the past week I've taken him twice with what I thought was a bathroom issue, for them to tell me that it's not its that it's just arthritis and then to take him back a second time within a few days because he is worse and to say the same thing, there's nothing wrong and not to research that area when I tell them what he does and to tell me maybe we should just give him the shot for his arthritis pain that's $100 and I do that because I have to trust that they know what they are doing. They said he would be better in 24 hours, well he wasn't he got worse and I had to take him to the emergency vet where they found the problem right away and it was to late for him because the anal area abscessed! If they had only cared and listed to what the owner was telling them he could still be alive today! read more

We are new to the area and needed a vet for our dog. Countryside took him in and treated him kindly and lovingly. He has allergies and they were able to give him a shot to get his skin irritation under control. He was also given topical solutions to help in between the shots. We first started taking our Yorkie for her annual visits and since recently getting our second Yorkie started taking him there as well. Want an affordable, compassionate vet and boarding place? Look no further!! Drs. Nelson and White are the BEST!!!! Although I moved, making it inconvenient to take my furbabies to Countryside, the 10+ years I took my felines here were excellent! Then it was called "Country Clinic." Dr. Tavis White primarily treated my cats, and I would actually request him each and every time I brought them in - and ((sigh)) yes, I was that "crazy cat lady" with, let's say... a few cats. I would take all of them in at the same time for vaccines and checkups and Dr. White (and Dr. Nelson when he would examine them) were both so compassionate - you could just feel their love and concern for all God's creatures!! I also boarded them several times at a *very* reasonable cost when I would go TDY with zero issues. As opposed to some boarding facilities where, when you retrieve your fur children, they appear dazed or stressed, or have weight fluctuations or a foul smell. I never had an issue with Countryside. When my beautiful Himalayan Persian, Haley, developed renal issues, Dr. White was quick to put sweet Haley on the correct prescription food, and as her renal issues continued, he offered me all the options available at that time - the mid 2000s. I opted for the sub-q fluid therapy at home and Dr. White and his staff trained me in the correct method to administer the fluids and kept me stocked with the bags of fluid and needles. I was nervous at first, since this was something I had never done, but, with their kind help, I became a pro in no time! Thanks Dr. White and Countryside for helping me love my lovely Haley that much longer! My best friend used them for years, too, for her various cats and dogs and always shared her positive experiences with me. Dr. Tavis White's wife has a veterinary practice close to my home and my husband and I have taken our pups there for various examinations/consultations and for vaccinations. What a sweet lady she is with a truly kind and compassionate staff and clean, cute facility. (I realize this review is not for her, but still, compassion clearly runs in the White family.) Do trust your animals large and small (I think they treat large animals, but you better check their website before riding your horse over there) :) animals, they are all in great hands at Countryside! read more

When I moved to the area, I was delighted to have a clinic so close to me. Overall, the vets and the staff are great and the clinic is clean and it has a pleasant atmosphere. They are quite expensive compared to other clinics and will not work with you on that. I left a year ago after an issue with my beloved senior dog and am still having trouble getting them to simply transfer my pets' records to their new vet. It's been a year and I'm still calling and waiting. I wouldn't say do not use them because the vets are great but be aware of their pricing and their reluctance to work with you on many issues. read more

An EXCELLENT, knowledgeable, caring team of professionals from the medical staff to the caretakers, they are all first class. We have had them care for several cats, and dogs over the years; they performed successful knee surgery on our 130 lbs mastiff with 7-year success. They do not over-prescribe or charge for the sake of billing. Very affordable. Boarding is great whether its for a day or over a week, they offer great care and love for our pets. Absolutely amazing staff!! I came here on a whim, my previous vet in the area had my business for over 15 years, and due to some situations I was vet-less and looking for someone to take care of my Senior Chihuahua, Oppie. My very first appointment was exceptional. Dr. Cash examined Oppie and determined that although he was 15 years old, that he would be a great great candidate for teeth cleaning and more than likely extractions. They offer stage 1-4 periodontal disease teeth cleaning "surgeries" and they offer package deals (do not include the 80$ bloodwork). Overall for as horrible as Oppie's teeth were it was just under 400$ (this included like 6 extra extractions). I was given medication for Oppie to take for a week before the surgery. On surgery day, we were able to drop him off at 7 am and we picked him back up around 4pm. Dr. Conley performed his cleaning and she did exceptional. The before and after pictures were astonishing. She spoke with me about the care for Oppie and what to look for and the healing process. She provided great information as well as the entire staff. After a few days, Oppie was still feeling a bit bad (the dissolvable stitches had not dissolved yet, and he was grinding his teeth to mess with them), I called the vet and talked to the staff. They gave me more information and ultimately I had to come back in for a check up on the sutures. The staff again was amazing. Dr Cash truly cares about his furry patients and it really shows. I am so glad I followed the many reviews and have been able to meet the staff and some of the doctors. We have completely switched over to Countryside and I definitely do not regret it at all. I told my dog to this place for a weekend and I wanted to get her pampered. So I paid for her to get a bath, her nails done, a very "nice " living area and her puppy shots. I should've known there was going to be a problem because when I set the appointment I told them everything I needed for her , and when I got to the hospital they pretty much only knew that I was coming there. They didn't have any recollection of any of the things I asked for over the phone. I wasn't that upset at the time , but when I got her back she smelled worse than when I gave her to them and she didn't even have her nails filed down. They took her back to trim her nails and they didn't file them they just cut them which made them arguably worse. So I will not be going back to them. read more

I went to this vet clinic for the first time last week with the very upsetting task of having to put my beloved pet down. I cannot express how wonderful and compassionate they were to me. Everything was thoroughly explained to me prior to the procedure. The guilt and anxiety I felt was off the chart. Absolutely love these people. The vet's are great. The majority of the techs are great. The clerical employees are great. The new addition to the facility is really nice and a much needed expansion. We have had everything from surgery to grooming. The only service we have not done that they offer is boarding so I cannot attest to that but I am sure it's as great as everything else. They have a great play area that includes a water features as well. The very best experience I had with Countryside is one time when I was very nervous about the surgery on Bella, which she is a beautiful little black pug, so the tech carried me back and gave me a tour of the surgery table, the recovery area, explained the procedure step by step. The tech sent me text message updates periodically throughout the surgery and one of my fears was the anesthesia so she sent me pictures of Bella waking up in recovery. If that isn't customer service I don't know what is!!! We have been customers for almost 20 years. read more

Because they are a lil more expensive then some others around, but just like a pair of shoes or a tattoo or your hairstylist you pay for what you get. CountrySide Vet Hospital is the only place I will take my Westie. When he turned two years old he started developing severe skin irritations. They were so bad that he actually lost most of his hair and his skin started to turn black. I took him to two other vets before this one and they did absolutely nothing. Honestly, they didn't even seem to care because they couldn't figure out what was wrong. And then I met Dr. Conley at CountrySide. She is a life saver! She has spent so much time with my dog trying to figure out what was wrong with him. I am happy to say that he has fully recovered and all his hair has grown back. I honestly don't think my dog would be alive today if it wasn't for all the time she spent with us. All of the staff is so helpful and friendly. I really feel like they go out of their way for all of their patients! read more

The vets and vet techs are good, and I love that they have a dog daycare, but they need to be more considerate of the owners' time. Drop-off and pick-up takes forever, even when there's no line. If they require paperwork to drop off your pet, they need to tell you ahead of time and let you fill it out online instead of surprising you with it when you go for a "quick" drop-off. Also, if they don't close until 5:45, why do they get so up-tight if you can't pick up your dog before 5:00? Most people don't get off until 5PM anyway, so that "rule" is ridiculous. read more

I've received excellent and professional medical care for puppy for the past 8 months. The staff is always smiling and welcoming. The Veterinarians and Vet Techs are extremely attentive, very gentle and take the time listen and address concerns. They always fully explain the care plan and make it very easy to make decisions. I was torn between giving them the full 5 Stars as the medical care is top notch and deducting a little for one unsatisfactory experience. I love Yelp Reviews and do rely on them when researching a particular business to see what others are experiencing. My only negative experience was with their Overnight Boarding. I have a puppy and although she was fully potty trained while Kenneled and only eliminated on either a potty pad or grass, I feel she may not have been taken out as often as I regularly did at home. She very obviously had several accidents during her weekend stay as her blanket and her fur were overwhelmingly covered in the smell of bodily waste. I'm sure this was likely an isolated incident as their Staff is the BEST. I would 100% recommend them all of your pet's medical care. read more

We were searching for a vet for our two new rescue dogs and happened upon this place while taking them to be boarded elsewhere and thought we should check them out. The facility is large and inviting and their website was useful enough for us to know we wanted to try them as our vet. We took our 50 lb Darlie first and while he didn't care for having his temperature taken by having something prodded up his pooper, he loved everything else about the visit. Our 25 lb little dog went there to be spayed and again it was a very good experience. They were upfront about all the prices and let us choose which things we wanted to include in the procedure. Molly came through great and has had no problems since. We looked at their boarding costs and they are much better than most options we had seen up to that point and we trust the staff there to take good care of both dogs. I am a long time Huntsville resident and have used another sole practitioner veterinarian for over 20 years. He was out of the office and my dog became very ill from an infection he had been unsuccessfully treating for over a week. Dr. Conley at Countryside was willing and able to provide immediate treatment that has resulted in ongoing recovery. The office staff are friendly; the waiting area and treatment areas are extremely well thought out with line of sight barriers and easy access to the exam rooms. My dog was treated with care and affection and when I was there late in the afternoon near closing time, every tech that left said goodbye to him by name as I waited to settle my account. Their prices are fair and they are considerate of cost when evaluating treatment options. Dr. Conley was exceptional with her approach to treatment and in the way she communicated with me. I had daily follow-up phone calls to check on my pup's recovery and he was well taken care of during two follow-up visits. Bottom line, I'm leaving my long time veterinarian and transfering my pets to Countryside. Although it is a 25 minute drive, I feel their expertise, attentiveness and pleasant environment is well worth the travel time. read more

My dog Sadie was attacked by another dog almost to death. Kayla, an employee there has taken care of us from the second we ran inside. Sadie is shy, skittish and very scared but loved Kayla so much. My pet had been treated by another vet for years and his health was deteriorating. I brought him here to be boarded, and when Dr. Holt reviewed his medical history, she questioned a medication my vet had prescribed. She suggested another med and my pet has responded wonderfully. She has also been more proactive with his general care. My previous vet suggested a monthly procedure which was cost prohibitive. Dr. Holt said we could do the procedure in six months. I have been bringing my 13 year old Westie to Countryside since we moved to Huntsville a few years ago. While I loved Countryside at first, the past few months has been a series of unfortunate and preventable issues. On TWO occasions in the past six months, the pharmacy has given my dog TWICE the prescribed dosage of Carprofen, which is needed due to age related arthritis. When the error occurred the first time, I did not realize the mistake and gave my dog the medication. One of the receptionists noticed the error when I came in for a refill. The office did blood work (for free) to be sure that there was no kidney damage. Mistakes happen and I was okay with how it was handled. On the next visit, my dog was given a rabies vaccination when he had received a three year vaccine a few months prior. The response was "Oops. No harm, no foul." Fortunately, my dog showed no ill effects from the extra vaccine. Just last week, I went in for another refill of medication and it was prescribed incorrectly AGAIN. Because of the past mistakes, I double checked his prescription and caught the error before giving my dog TWICE the prescribed dosage of Carprofen. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Countryside. These were careless mistakes that had the potential to cause serious harm to my baby! read more

Our Little Chihuahua, Katie Sue was Treated/ Operated on by Dr. White for Medical Patellar Luxation & Anterior Cruciate Repair: = rebuild Left Knee Joint & tendon during Oct 2013 & right knee same way during June 2014. Dr. White did a excellent job with our Katie Sue, as she seems to enjoy going to Countryside, and she is now fully back into her everyday lifestyle, and moves about very freely ! The level of Professional and expert care with a pleasant staff makes Countryside Veterinary Hospital the best place we have ever found in the Huntsville area ! If I could leave 0 stars I would after the experience I just had. I will start by saying that my family and I have used this location for over 25 years! We for the most part have been treated very fairly, the place is somewhat clean, and friendly; However, 3 weeks ago I took my pup into this location for an ear examination because I knew my pup had an ear infection, sure enough after a quick swab and examination it came back as a yeast ear infection. They offered to pack her ears and asked her to come back in a week for another examination and pack. First visit was over $100, second visit was roughly $26. After the second visit my pup's ears looked perfectly healthy with no signs of yeast or any fluid for that matter, but they still insisted on me coming in a third time for a checkup. Today I brought my pup in expecting to just have a quick look and for me to be on my way only for them to charge me $50!!!! When I asked why I was being charged $50 they tried to give me the excuse that it takes away from the doctors time and because of the cotton swab/temp check that was why it was $50! I asked the lady very politely for her honest opinion as to why that costs $50 (of course I didn't get that). The doctor was in the room for 2 minutes tops! They checked her temp and used 1 cotton swab and said "That will be $50". Needless to say, I drive 30 minutes one way to this location and pass roughly 2/3 vets on the way there, I only came here because my family had been using this location for 25+ years. I informed the lady that I will no longer go to this money sucking location due to being treated this way. I felt completely taken advantage of! Anybody with eyes that god blessed you with could look at an ear and determine that the ear was completely fine. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!! read more

I drive 25 minutes to take my dog to Countryside Veterinary Hospital, passing several other vets along the way. Dr. Tavis White and his staff have been taking care of my dogs for 12 years now, treating them with love and concern. I count myself fortunate to have found such an outstanding vet to take care of my four-legged babies. When we walk in, I feel like we are with family-and we are treated that way! Recently I had to take my dog in because we had a health issue and Dr. White took one look at her and knew something was wrong. Very nice facility. Clean. Extremely Friendly staff. They call after I have been in the office with my dog as he needs treatment for a skin problem. They check up to make sure he is good with meds and there are no issues. I have never had that before and it was nice. The Docs take time with you and there is no sense of rush unlike I have felt at every other vet. One thing though when I leave my dog for a day they provide me with a form requesting I choose between a $22 dollar shot to protect my dog against kennel cough (if I remember correctly) or if my dog contracts it while at THIER facility I will incur the costs of treatment. I am not sure if this is par for all Vets and I will check as it bothers me greatly that I must incur a cost of something that my dog could contract at their facility and through no action or fault of me or my dog. Again you cannot go wrong with choosing this vet and my minor issue with the mandatory inoculate your dog or incur the costs may be universal when it comes to vets. read more
