Today, I was leaving work in Danville a little later than I should have to catch Bus 21 to the Walnut Creek BART station. I was approaching my bus stop just as Bus 21 was to make the right turn at the light where I hoped to cross. I signaled that I wanted to aboard the bus (It only runs hourly during non-commute times). I would like to commend Rocky O, the driver, for waiting for me as I attempted to "sprint" to the bus. (if you can call what my 70+ year-old self does when trying to move swiftly.) Rocky O graciously waited patiently until I boarded and sat down. I have been traveling on Bus 21 for neary 5+ years and have received nothing less than good customer service. Just wanted to make sure that I gave KUDOs to Rocky O for saving me Uber fare, and also for helping me to arrive at my volunteer gig on time. read more

This is the most unreliable public transportation in my life. You just can not count on it to go anywhere. The bus breaks down often and they are short of drivers or the driver is sick and no replacement driver. When you call the office and they just can not give you the honest answer. The guy answers phone told you there is a bus and it's on its way. Please don't get fooled and keep your hope high. The bus eventually showed up and it's the next scheduled bus which is 30 minutes later. The total waiting time is 50 minutes. You think BART is bad, this is worse! I really miss the AC transit and I wish we can have it in contra costa county. The AC transit bus is cleaner and seldom skip the schedule. Besides, they do not update their online schedule often so you just can not trust the schedules on their website. I hope they can make some improvement to better serve the poor riders. read more

Worst bus service I ever experienced in my life. For example, 12 miles with one transfer to another bus at a BART bus station = 1 hour 45 min by bus. Same ride by auto: 15 or less minutes. This bus company, calling itself County Connection uses over sized snails for buses, and will never, ever be awarded anything other then: Slowest service with the highest waiting time ever recorded. Most stops don't even have benches much less shelters - leaving many seniors and disabled sitting on curbs, that is if they can get up again by themselves. Low and fixed income riders without access to autos or cash for a Lyft or an Uber, are caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to timely transportation for everyday shopping and medical appointments. Without a car in the East Bay Area you may as well move to a more disabled and senior courteous city. Remember, everything takes trifold energy for disabled and elderly. Isn't it time County Connection became a helpful service instead of a bad taste in one's mouth? read more

Living in CoCo County without a car is a nightmare. Sadly, County Connection doesn't help as much as a car-less person would want. First, the Pros: - The bus drivers and customer service staff are friendly. - The fare is $2, which is pretty standard in Bay Area bus systems. - The buses are relatively clean. Now, the Cons: - Unlike TriDelta Transit, there is no day pass. You get a transfer pass for two other transfers that you have to use within 2 or 3 hours. That sucks when you have a bunch of errands to do or go to work. - The 93x bus only travels in the early morning and evening so if you need to go from Walnut Creek to Clayton during the day, you have to take BART and connect to the #10 bus. Or, some other combination of buses. Very inconvenient. - There's no automated service to tell you when the next bus is coming so you have to speak to someone. But if you need that info after-hours, there's no one available. In San Francisco, you would dial "511" and speak the bus stop and you get GPS info as to when the bus will be there. Sad that Contra Costa trails S.F. by 5 years or more in that regard. - The buses are often late or early so that you have to allow yourself a lot of time in order to catch the bus. - There's no combined schedule. This is ridiculous. Every route has its' own individual schedule so you don't know about a schedule unless you are on the bus!! You can order a schedule from the main office, including a system map or print them off their website. If you're like me and ride a bunch of routes, you'll end up with a stack of individual schedules on your desk. Idiotic. Even worse, some of the buses have outdated schedules on them. I mentioned this to County Connection administration and they didn't even seem to care. They said that it's up to the bus drivers to take care of that!! Really? Apathy and incompetence. Tragic. - For operating these buses in hot temps., these buses typically don't have the A/C going. On too many occasions, I sit there sweating in the bus. I have no idea what the bus drivers are thinking. I'm thankful that there's some basic bus service but disappointed that County Connection is so inefficient. My recommendation: If you're planning to live in the area for very long, buy a car, fast!! In fact, I think that County Connection's motto should be, "County Connection: Buy a Damn Car Instead!!" read more

I'm here to get a replacement transit discount card. They will except cash. Although their documentation and website indicate they will also take personal checks. While my application has my home address (where they're going to be mailing the card of which I'm sure they have the ability to deactivate if full payment is not received) and my driver's license has the same address (plus others I could've supplied) ... they wouldn't take my check because it only had my name pre-printed on it (no address). If in fact a pre-printed address is the ultimate qualifier to except a personal check, it seems rather archaic and counterintuitive to me. If they're mailing something to that address and the driver's license has the same address ... one would logically presume that would be enough to confirm the correct address, right? Apparently not. P.S. The front desk assistant was very helpful, courteous and professional. Kudos to you. read more

A more reliable tranist company compared to Tri Delta. They have really nice busses, and they really do take care of their busses. Though, some routes I'm not too fond of. The 116 (runs every hour), 115(takes too long to get from concord to walnut creek, and vice versa). My favorite route is Route 104 in Downtown Walnut Creek. There is this one bus driver that drives that route, and he is super friendly, and would try all he can do to make sure that you catch your bus. Route 110 to DVC is fairly quick and fast. read more

If you live in Contra Costa County and don't have access to a car, you are in trouble. I've lived in many places around the United States and visited many different countries around the world, so I've rode on my fare share of buses. I thought that the bus lines in Nassau, Bahamas were bad but I was wrong!! The County Connection is horrible!! Most buses are empty except for the ones heading to and from DVC and maybe to the Amtrak Station in Martinez. I think that says a lot, especially when you compare it to AC Transit which is a lot more efficient. I mean imagine living near the North Concord Bart Station but the bus that passes in front of your house only goes to the Concord Bart station. So in essence, a ride that should take no more than 25 minutes (with stops), will take me at least an 1 hour (including stops). On top of that, the buses come only once/hour and after 6pm-8pm, no more buses!! I really would like to reduce my carbon foot print and help the environment but with bus lines like County Connection, I'm forced to continue destroying the Earth. Thanks!! read more

I have taken the County Connection busses 5 days a week for the past 3 years. 95% of the time they are late. However, the main reason I am writing this is because of what happened on July 26, 2018. I take the 15 bus in the morning and return in the afternoon in the opposite direction. I get a transfer from the ride in the morning and use it in the afternoon. I've done this for the past 2 years without any problems. During this day, a new driver I have never seen before was taking me home on my return trip. I hand him my transfer and and he says it's expired. He shows me the time on the ticket and yes it expired 15 minutes ago. Well the bus was 20 minutes late. If the bus wasn't late then the transfer would still be valid. He tells me that I need to put in another $2 fare to ride. Luckily I had $2 in my pocket. I asked him what he would do if I didn't have any money left. He very rudely said he would not let me ride. After I repaid my fare, I asked him for another transfer since I paid again. He gives me one and I have a seat in the back of the bus. I look at the transfer while I am sitting down and he gave me one that was expired. Well if he's checking the tickets down to the minute, shouldn't he give me one that's not expired already. I told him about his error and he gave me another one. I rely on public transportation to take me where I have to go because I don't own and can't afford a car. I'm on minimum wage and every dollar matters for me. If this happens again I am going to ditch this bus service and start riding my bike. read more

Just rode it for the first time to get from BART to KP. It's really nice compared to the buses in SF. I highly recommend it. The fare is a little more 1.75 for adults. Very good route picks me up from BART and drops me off at work. So easy! read more

Unprofessional business that disregards the safety and well being of their riders and employees. I would recommend taking a taxi or lyft/Uber over riding with county connections. The company really should communicate things better with their employees so that they can vocalize matters/occurring issues regarding route/scheduling with their passengers. I find it a little ridiculous that in 2014 the bus does not have a change dispenser and/or a debit/credit swip. I put one dollar in only to realize that I didnt have another, I had to put a 5 dollar bill in (making my total $6) nothing from the driver, not even a "I'll let you slide this time" or anything. I mean I ride the bus twice a day 5 days a week thats $15 a week and $90 a month. Come on guys get it together please and at least get a change dispenser. read more

Seriously sexualized driver behavior on the 320 bus today! The driver, a thin, 40-50-something, dark-complected African-American man with a scraggly ponytail and gold cross earring, whose name seems to be Leon, left Concord BART 10 minutes late today (1:15 instead of 1:05pm), going toward DVC, because he went to the food truck to get some food. For the first 10 minutes, he was engaged in loud, ongoing personal, sexually-innuedoed conversation with a male passenger seated half-way toward the back of the bus. And when a busty, scantily-clad female passenger got on, proceeded to gesture in the mirror, encourraging that male passenger to hit on her. For a good 10 minutes. And Leon and the passenger maintained public conversation about that, too. This driver has a history of hitting on female passengers, including me. His behavior is inappropriate and flat-out illegal. going anywhere on the bus in this county is like pulling teeth.drivers are frequently 10 minutes late or more,and even have come early.today the bus came early by 5 minutes.i was literally within 15 to 20 feet of the bus stop,and the bus driver left me high and dry.i called county connection to make a complaint,and the customer service representative was rude, and raised her voice really loud,was hostile for no reason,and ultimately hung up on me for no reason.i called back to speak to they're supervisor and was informed that the supervisor had left for the day,must be nice to be able to take off at 4 pm,after sitting down all day doing nothing.these people are the laziest,most shiftless group of workers i have ever seen in my life.they take every day off possible including some holiday's that are not even federal.a.c transit in alameda county runs even on christmas day.not county connection.county connection guaranteed to miss you're bus,due to early arrival, or to be super late getting to wherever you need to be,work school,or doctor's appointments wherever you have to go,you are guaranteed to lose.takes 45 minutes to go from concord bart to martinez,which is only 6 miles away,and buses going to and from martinez often leave from either direction only every 2 hours.hope you don't have a doctor's appointment at the clinic at the county hospital.....and if you have to transfer to another bus or to bart you are guaranteed to miss you're train of you're transfer bus due to you're bus being late.at least the tri delta buses wait for the people that have to transfer to they're buses at the major transfer stops,not county connection-you are guaranteed to miss it;they need to change the name to county disconnection.relying on them is useless take uber whenver you can-unfortunately people that have to rely on the bus are usually poor and cannot afford to take uber everywhere.they know that we need them and they take advantage of this,and know we still have to use them,so they simple do not care.garbage company that deserves to fail.taxpayer money should not be spent to subsidize them or the link paratransit until they drastically improve they're service.FED UP IN CONCORD!! read more
