I've never taken a train at this station as I've only picked-up my son a couple of years ago on our way to Brentwood. From the outside, it does look like much, and it looks rather bland. It's surrounded by a huge parking lot in the middle of nowhere. At least, that's what my first impression was. However, when I had to drop off my car at an auto shop in Martinez recently, I took a Lyft ride to this station to catch a train to the city. From the outside, it looks like Plain Jane, but from inside the platform, it looks gorgeous. The view looking West is so picturesque with the vibrant, green trees on both sides, bushes on the left side and the retaining wall on the right side is aesthetically pleasing to look at. It's framed like a modern painting that evokes a feeling of calmness. But you know what they say...beaty is in the eye of the beholder. But these are the things that captures my eyes as I get older and enjoy the serenity and simple things in life. Funny how such mundane things captures my attention and have such a strong reaction to a glimpse of unpretentious moment of time. The station is also, quiet, clean and unobstructed. The only negative I would have to say is that it doesn't have a covered garage to provide as shade to your vehicles. Especially in this part of town where the heat can become so unbearable. They do have some small trees in the parking lot though, but not enough to provide the proper protection from the sun. I use the BART - North Concord/Martinez station when I need to go on business to the City from work. Work is defined as an office in Bay Point and another in Martinez and this BART station splits the distance. It's an easy in/out via Port Chicago Highway off California 4. I've found parking to be readily available on weekdays although it can be a bit of a walk. The station itself is pleasant enough and easy to navigate. At the same time, I've found riding on BART itself to be little more challenging these days. Maybe it was that pool of urine in the doorway that Gayle and I had to step over to exit recently. Or maybe it's more unique individuals who let the presence be know. 360 awareness even more mandatory than before. However, BART remains an efficient transportation option and reminded of that as I look out the train window at the highway traffic. read more

Out of the dozens of BART stations in the greater Bay Area, the "North Concord/Martinez" station is arguably my top favorite. Reason being is because I have been residing in the Sacramento area (since 2001) and this one is the definitely the most convenient for people who live in Benicia, Fairfield, Vacaville, and beyond. After living in the Bay Area for the first 24 years of my life, I was spoiled with the decent amount of mass transit that the Bay Area has to offer. But it is a necessity considering the population of the Bay Area (as of 2019) is close to 8 million people. As far as the location of this station, it is situated right off of Port Chicago Highway and adjacent to Highway 4. Additionally, it is less than a 5-minute drive by taking Highway 4 westbound to Highway 680. Therefore, you don't have to drive on many surface streets arriving/departing here. Another nice feature is their parking lots. There is a main lot that is close to the station and an overflow lot (that involves a little bit of walking). Usually when I park here (which is primarily on weekend days), I've never had any issues finding a spot to park here. However, during the week is a whole different story. I would highly recommend getting here before 8:00am if you want to find a decent parking spot. Finally, the parking lot is well-lit and I have always seen security all the time. The main platform has a ticket station where you can purchase one way or round trip tickets to your destination of choice. The machines for the most part work okay and accept cash, debit, and credit cards. I usually take this BART train to go to San Francisco. Furthermore, if you're going to San Francisco, you do not have to get off to transfer to a different BART. The station itself has one elevator as well as your choice of taking either the stairs or an escalator to get to the bottom level. There are two restrooms as well as a BART employee that can answer any questions. Considering most of these BART stations have been around for half a century, many of them look old and outdated. At any given time, I have always generally felt safe being at this station. There is ample space waiting for your train; one side of the tracks reads "Antioch" (going outbound) while the other side of the tracks reads "Millbrae" (going inbound). Make sure to stand on the correct side depending what your destination is. Overall, this is a decent BART station. For the most part, the trains arrive/depart on time and come in 20-minute increments during non-commute hours. My rating for the "North Concord/Martinez" BART station, a respectable four-stars. read more

I can't really complain about this BART station, there's plenty of parking and the day I barted, their parking machine wasn't working so I didn't have to pay. You may have to do a short hike to the station, if you can't find parking so if you are on a time crunch, figure that into your itinerary. All in all, it felt safe enough and when coming from this area, I knew it was highly unlikely that I wouldn't have a seat due to the later morning hours. So if you're touristing, a planner, or obsessed with time, download the app Transit to get real time updates on when the BART comes. (It works for NYC, LA, and other cities as well and It's pretty accurate.) Coming home wasn't bad either. Again, it's all about timing and planning. Cars are a necessity in California, but I'm staying off the tylenol or advil and taking public transportation when it's traffic and tourist season. read more

1/5 STARS ARE THERE EVEN REAL WORKERS? Not only does the barts reach this particular station late 90% of the time, but even the service, or lack of service at the station faisl 90% of the time. Many times I have seen no worker in the both and the 3 our of 5 times I asked for assistance, they were either rude, unhelpful or just clueless. So I was very upset during a period of 5 weeks where the bart was late every single day and I would miss the connecting bus by 2-3 minutes. I asked the worker if he could speak to someone in the county connection to see if they can hold the bus a few minutes or work something out since no one was even boarding that bus since we were all on the late bart. He responded "That is your problem, get on an earlier bart" I asked to speak to his manager for further assistance and he responded "there is no manager." I asked for a number with a higher position then his and he ignored me and said, "there is no managers number" I was furious and just emailed the BA BART. Other times there was just no one there to ask for help when my clipper card wasn't reading. Its only 3 in the afternoon and no one is on guard. I feel like they need some authority figure to be hovering over the workers here because they seem to be lazy and uneducated in their field of work. read more

I'm a commuting student who travels from this station to the Daly City BART station every weekday for the past 2 years, so I've got to say: this is probably the cleanest, least smelliest, least sketchiest BART station of them all! There was only one day where the parking lot was packed, but besides that, not a lot of people come here. I've been to almost every station and boarded from Hayward BART, all the Oaklands, all the stations I the city, etc. And yes - I think this one is the most safest which is a big plus to me since my classes end late and I'm walking through this BART station when the sun is already down. I'm actually also glad that there are no parking garages for personal safety reasons. They also have emergency phones across the parking lot near the light posts if an emergency call is necessary and there are also some cops just chilling around the lot if it's late. It's also a bonus that this station is pretty much at the end of the line so you're almost always guaranteed a seat! read more

Station itself is ok. Parking is the only real problem. Why, why, why does BART not see the value in building a 2nd story parking structure? If you truly want to relieve traffic and get cars off the road, then make enough parking spots for people to use! I'm always able to get a spot here, but I have to park so far away from the station, I might as well walk from my house. And naturally there are tons of parking spots up close, but you have to pay $105 to use them. Considering this is such a liberal area, it's strange to me that they have policies like this that only financially well off people can use. People like me are financially boxed out from being able to use a bunch of parking spots my tax dollars still pay for. Very frustrating. A good deal of those spots are never even used, so there's no reason to have permit parking. There's been a lot of agencies/religious groups setting up tables here too lately. Tired of having 20 people try and sell me something every time I show up here to use the train. read more

I tried catching BART from this so called "North Concord/Martinez" station when my babygirl first moved to Martinez. I'm giving it a weak one star hater-rating based on the fact they attempt to attach The City of Martinez to the name at all. If you live in Martinez, west of I-680, this station is no more convenient than driving south on I-680 a few miles to Pleasant Hill BART. The name alone is very misleading. When you drive here from Martinez, you're actually driving against the train that is heading towards SF. So even if it is a closer drive (not by much) than to Pleasant Hill, it actually will make you reach the same BART train at a later time. Sorry, it's just basic math. Thankfully, because that's the only math I know. I found out the hard way and missed my train by one minute despite leaving at the same exact time I always do. Maybe it would work if you are headed to Pittsburgh, but lets face it, who goes to Pittsburgh? So if you live in Martinez, consider taking Pleasant Hill BART if you want to sleep in or get some extra morning cuddle time. The only advantage North Concord (I refuse to add "Martinez" to the name. Unlike those Snakes on the BART Board of Directors, I don't like misleading people) has over Pleasant Hill, is free parking, and the fact you're more likely to get a seat on the train. Not the most important factors for me, especially since the free parking is going away in the not so distant future. Also, the fare is .55 cents less from Pleasant Hill BART to my usual morning station than it is from North Concord. So in the end, you're only saving .45 cents. I'll pay .45 extra per day for a more convenient location, and covered parking. In fact, covered parking is a lifesaver on those hot summer days. So screw you North Concord BART. You are the most worthless station in the BART system. You're dead to me! read more

On a Sunday afternoon....this place is amazing! Not sure what it would be like on a weekday......but it was super easy parking, getting ticket and getting on the train. Nice experience. My only complaint is that it would be nice to see some sort of police or security presence being that there are some shady people on the trains and some realoy foul smelling peeps as well. This review is long overdue. Based on other yelp reviews, I tried this Bart station even though the Pittsburg/Bay Point one is near where I live. Things that I like about this station- - Parking is ALWAYS available. I am a morning commuter to SF and knowing that parking is readily available makes me happy. - FREE parking - While waiting in line for a train, wi-fi is available when I am using my iPod touch. Not sure if this is Bart's wi-fi but hey-it works! - It's not as cold as walking to the train and waiting for the train as so in Pittsburg/Baypoint station - Clean - Less crazy characters. LOL - The walk to and from the parking lot/train is way lesser than the P-burg station. What I dont like- - A few more minutes of driving to get to ...that's about it! So to recap-I would very much drive a few more minutes longer to park @ this station. read more

Cleanest and safest among the Bart stations in the East Bay. Huge parking lot, a bit of a walk to the station itself if you're commuting to the city. I usually park here around 9-11am and it's pretty packed by then, but normally there's still parking towards the END of the lot (or the designated "reserved till 10am" spots) if you're lucky. Would've easily made 5 stars if it were free parking.. They recently raised it to $1. Which is super inconvenient since you have to remember stall numbers and carry cash to pay your fee. read more

I go to this BART every single weekday morning on my trek to the Big City (i.e. SF). The great things about this station? It's conveniently off of Highway 4 (which bypasses all the heinous traffic going onto 680), parking is always readily available and FREE, the newspaper guy is nice, and the little online cafe is quick, cheap, and has a super friendly staff. The bad? First of all, since you are getting on before the Concord station, you run the small risk of the BART stopping by the maintenance and service station in Concord, which may add an extra 5 minutes to your commute (usually this is just to drop off someone at the end of their shift and pick up a replacement). Also, this place gets a little scary after 8 o'clock, and I don't like leaving work too late because you are often alone once you leave the station, and even though security seems pretty tight, you are in Concord which can be just a little bit sketch. read more

We tried to park at Pittsburg, but lot was full at noon. So we tried the next station, North Concord. Plenty of spaces available! And, the station is much cleaner. Now, if BART would only clean up or replace their old, tired fleet! And going to SF, the driver kept saying the train was going to Pittsburg. He was obviously lost. Updating to add that they have a little cafe right outside the station so when you do get screwed on that long walk from your car and just miss your train you can get yourself a coffee for the wait. But, be warned, bring that coffee on to the next train at your own risk, b/c it's like a $250 fine if you get busted. read more

The cleanest BART I've ever been to. And, there is a ton of parking available. Parking here is cheaper than at most BART stations (currently at $2). It's actually cheaper to park here than at Pittsburg/Baypoint where they are currently charging $3. The commute can be long depending on where you're going but take advantage of not driving by reading a book, listening to music, or whatever you like to do. But holy moly, if you're on BART heading this direction from the city during rush hour, it is PACKED like sardines. Especially when there are less cars on a train. It definitely starts dissipating the closer you get to North Concord/Martinez. The commute to SF is much less of a hassle if you jump onto BART here. You will definitely have a seat. read more

You have to walk for 1/4 mile from where you park your car in the morning to the actual train. Give yourself an extra 7 minutes. Other than that the station is clean and since it's the second stop from the beginning in the morning I always find a spot to sit. If you plan to park it's $1.50 for all day parking and you have to pay cash at the station after you've entered the Bart. Make sure you write down your parking space number read more

I have spent so much time at this BART station it's ridiculous. I never wanted to be a commuter, but here I am, traveling from Concord to San Francisco 5+ times a week. It could be a lot worse. I could be stuck in traffic, inching my vehicle across the 24, cursing and wishing I could be sitting quietly with a book or taking a nap, albeit uncomfortably. North Concord is one of the newer stations and decently clean. They recently allowed a little internet cafe to open shop. Best of all though...is FREE PARKING. read more

Not only is this station cleaner, but its less crowded with lowlifes. The station is protected from the wind and driving rain unlike most of the Pittsburg station. Unfortunately parking has become a nightmare. I used to get a parking spot in back third of the lower lot after 9am, but a few years ago that changed and you needed to be there by 8 to get any spots. My only complaint is the lack of station agents. When they're there, they do a great job, but when they're not, there is nobody in sight. BART get with the program and build a garage here! read more

Have you ever had a bad day stifled because someone you just met was so awesome? For some reason, I found myself with no cash or cell phone and having no car, I needed to call someone for a ride back home. This is the BART station you want to be when you're stuck. For one, it's clean. For comparison's sake check out El Cerrito del Norte. Also, the station attendant give me another ticket when my original one lacked funds. I liked it when he didn't roll his eyes or act like he didn't want to be there working. But most importantly, there's an Internet café for those emergency Google Voice txts. Formé and Adrian at the Café California Internet were very friendly and helpful. They'll let you use the Internet as long as you buy something, even a 25 cent piece of beef jerky. All these things and a bagel with cream cheese from the Café made my bad day evaporate. read more

1 Star is too great of a rating for the customer service I received today from the Station Agent Mary at North Concord Bart. First off I approached the booth to inquire about the time of the next train traveling in the SFO direction and she totally ignored me. I used my smart device as an alternative and figured out that information on my own. I then loaded 10.00 on to a clipper card with a balance of 2.25 making my current balance 12.25 and proceeded to the entry. The machine read " See Agent ". I approach the booth once again, she facing me, blatantly ignored me once again, so I knocked on the glass and notified her that my card issued an error that said " See Agent " without a word from her mouth she came out of the booth grabbed the card and slid it at the exit gate and told me " you now have a balance of 6.00 for your next trip". At this point I'm very much confused thinking "okay so are you letting me in the gate because you just swiped money off my clipper card at your exit gate without my authorization, when in fact I'm entering the station not exiting" she handed me the card back leaving me to pay for yet another trip when I hadn't taken a first trip with no explanation other than " someone owes you money " and " it's my job" Excuse me? I don't know whether to assume dementia is setting in for her , or she's using drugs , but this is totally inappropriate and unacceptable. I would have respected her actions more if they came with an explanation, but she was just snotty and rude. Maybe Bart should look into some employee counseling for unprofessional conduct and hostile communication for Mary because this isn't the first negative review about her. Maybe retirement can be another alternative since she in fact is as old as dirt. read more

Based on the poor reviews of the Pittsburgh station and comments about car break-ins, lack of parking and filth at that station, l have a sneaking suspicion that this station is being affected by an "overflow" of riders that would otherwise use the Pittsburgh station but don't want to deal with damage to their vehicles, etc. In the past, even late in the AM I could find a parking spot in the "after 10 am" zone or way back at the furthest point of the large lot; now, not only is the large lot packed to the gills, the "after 10 am" zone is filled w/ commuters who can't find parking either. This station is surrounded by fields, not sure why capacity can't be increased horizontally or vertically--other stations have garages, it's already a 1/4 mile walk from the back of the large lot, time to build up rather than out! Or, fix the problems at the Pittsburgh station and perhaps the influx of people who don't want their cars broken into will use that station again. Otherwise the station itself has plenty of space for getting picked up; the pick-up area as well as the train platforms have lots of protection from the elements and the station is clean. Doesn't do me any good if I can't park and use the freaking station!! Iguess I should just take an uber to/from this station rather than try and park... /sigh read more

To pay for parking they will not let you use your debit or credit card to pay, it's only cash, to be even more difficult it's $1's, $5's and change so make sure to break any large bills you have or go to the ATM if you only carry cards with you. read more

This station is the Shizz!! I take the Bart on Thursdays and Fridays when I know traffic will be horrendous getting out of the city. It's so easy to get to. I come from Benicia so it's only 10 minutes compared to 20 or more, depending on traffic, to the Richmond Station. Sure it takes close to 45 minutes to get to the city but I'll take that any day over 2 hours in traffic on a Friday afternoon. There is so much parking and the station is well lit and safe. I never take the bus there, but there is easy transit if I wanted to hop on the bus somewhere. The wi-fi keeps me entertained so I pay no attention to how long I have to wait for a train. But it's never more than 15 minutes. It's at the beginning of the run to the City so I'm sure to get a seat the whole way there. The company I work for has a private parking lot so it's no problem driving into the city but like I said traffic can be pretty bad making it not worth it to even drive in. At first I didn't want to ride the Bart because most of the stations are sketchy in Richmond. I'm glad I found this station because it's so easy now for the end my week. All I have to do is sit back and enjoy the ride home. read more

This is my least favorite Bart Station. It doesn't have much parking. Is near the freeway going towards the BAD parts of Contra Costa County. When I had my car at the time, my stereo was stolen from my car. So when I got back to my car that day I went to the Bart agent to report that, and the Bart police officer was to come. Then I checked back with the Bart agent to find out how long it make take. I didn't appreciate his response, he was a total jerk. I will never use this Bart station ever again, only as a meeting place. read more

Last week, on Tuesday, March 4, I arrived at the station at 1 minute to ten. The upper lot does not open for general parking until 10 am, yet it was already completely full. Not only that, but the enormous lower parking lot was also absolutely packed. I ended up not going to SF that day, since I didn't want to drive there. I've always found parking easily at this station, and am at a loss why this happened. I certainly hope it doesn't happen again. read more
