Uber eats delivery of a full rack of beef ribs and a half rack of pork ribs. I must say, although I enjoy the beef ribs and feel like they are incredibly good value, they certainly don't compete well with some of the best beef ribs in town, but they're good nonetheless. On the other hand, I haven't had the pork ribs in a pretty good while, and they were absolutely perfect, perfectly seasoned, the sauce was great, they were tender and good size, and really, really good!

County Line was great! We picked this spot based on reviews and the waterfront seating. You can walk down to the docks and feed the ducks and turtles - so fun! Our service was excellent, we got our food incredibly fast and everything was hot and fresh. I rate the BBQ a 3.5/5. We like a little more bark and char. But it really was yummy and moist. Sides were all excellent as well. You can get complimentary bread upon request. The inside is really neat. We spent a few minutes taking pictures of antique signage and neon on the way out. No wait at all during the week at lunch!

I first visited County Line on the Lake 29years ago with my nephew and niece who were visiting from Chile. My nephew now lives in Dallas and yesterday he brought his daughter and her fiancé, who are visiting from Chile, to Austin, and I decided to have our lite afternoon snack at the County Line for old times' sake. Although it was cold and gloomy day, we were able to sit on the spacious enclosed deck that was heated. Our server Brooklyn was excellent, very attentive. We ordered the "All You Can Stand" which was the following, Starter: Chips and House-made Salsa 6 Smoked Meats: Brisket, Sausage, Chicken, Peppered Turkey Breast, Pork Ribs and Beef Ribs. Sides: Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Beans, and Homemade Bread Dessert: Warm Homemade Peach Cobbler topped with Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream We thoroughly enjoyed the smoked meats except for the Beef Ribs that needed some attention, like a little seasoning and the meat didn't fall off of the bone. The sides were a bit mundane. The Homemade Peach Cobbler was served warm topped with Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream was the highlight of the meal. I love the location and atmosphere of the County Line and it's a great place to bring out of town guests for a unique experience.

This is an old-school Texas BBQ house that knows exactly what it is. No gimmicks, no fusion - just straight execution. In the key places, it still delivers. The beef rib is the reason to come. Heavy bark, deep smoke, fat rendered to a clean gloss. When you can pull the rib bone and strip the silver membrane clean, that's not luck - that's a pitmaster who understands time, temperature, and restraint. I've had beef ribs all over Houston, Austin, San Antonio and beyond; this one still holds its ground without apology. The spicy BBQ sauce was the surprise. I expected a generic "hot version" and instead got a focused, layered heat that cuts through the fat and lifts the smoke instead of masking it. It doesn't decorate the meat - it works with it. Supporting cast: * Hot link - proper snap, smoke, and clean fat. * Baby back ribs - classic, slightly sweet, exactly what they should be. * Fatty brisket - above average and honest about its role: not the star, but not coasting. * Bread basket - that old-school, slightly sweet soft bread that hasn't changed in decades. It shouldn't pair this well with BBQ, but it does. Then there was the iced tea moment. The server asked, "Sweet, unsweet, or half-and-half?" - a perfectly normal question. For someone who learned BBQ culture in Texas, it was just a reminder that time moves on. Back then, with a plate like this, it was beer or half-and-half by default. Places evolve. The ribs, fortunately, still speak the same language. County Line sits comfortably above standard, and the beef rib with spicy sauce is still worth planning around. I've eaten a lot of ribs in a lot of cities; this one still reminds me where my taste was trained. - Dr C Only writing for what truly earns the stars.

This is a relaxing location to eat BBQ. It does get busy and you should avoid those times. When it isn't so busy, the service is great as was so this past Sunday. The meat is good but maybe not the best in Austin. I do like the value of your meal. There is a lot of food on your platter with all the sides.

My husband and I met up with some friends at the County Line on the Lake. We drove up, parked, and walked in. Luckily our friend got us on the list. We requested seating with a view and we waited for about 10 minutes. The restaurant is pretty cool with a rustic, laid back atmosphere. Not long after sitting we were greeted by an a waiter that did a good job taking care of us. We placed our drink orders and looked at the menu. Our waiter came back with our drinks and then took our order. We all decided to share a half loaf of the house made bread. It's really good. It's warm and addicting. I added some honey butter to my bread and it was delicious. For my main dish I ordered the Brisket Sandwich with Lean meat and it came with one side so I ordered the potato salad. My husband and I decided to share an order of beans. The brisket sandwich was good. It was nice and filling. The meat was lean which I prefer because it has less fat. The BBQ sauce, pickles, and onions added flavor. The potato salad was good with the potato chunks and and other ingredients. It's my favorite side from County Line. The beans were good. They were very hot in terms of temperature and had some flavor from the seasoning. Overall it was a good place to go and have some BBQ. The service was good, the atmosphere was cool and the view of the lake was awesome.

Fast seating for a family of 6 in a Sunday. Homemade bread was delicious! Food itself was average but reasonable price. Cute like lake and turtles and fishes you can feed. Service was good and efficient. I would go back even with a big group.

Decent bbq and good service. Large portions come hungry. The smoked wings are some of the best around.

It's a kinda of a cliché Texas bbq place but the food didn't meet my expectations. I think the food was comparable to a fast food restaurant (e.g. Chilis or Applebees), but the service and ambience is what you would expect from a Texas bbq restaurant . The service was very hospitable. Every server or hostess was very attentive and doubled checked on us. The decoration was authentic. But the food came out after 10 minutes we ordered, which tells me it was simply heated up. Maybe sitting there for a while. The meat was chewy almost rubbery. But hey, I'd be back since this was the only place close to our hotel ... the service was great and happy hour runs between 4-7pm!

I've hosted several large corporate dinners at The County Line on the Lake. While I wouldn't call it the best BBQ I've had, it's a great spot for tourists looking to dive headfirst into Texas culture. It's situated right next to Bull Creek and offers a beautiful country view. Inside the restaurant, you'll find cowboy hats, cowhide decor, ropes, longhorns, stars, and all things Texan. Each time I've been, they've done an amazing job accommodating our large groups. If you have a large party of 40+, you can choose between three of their party rooms and pricing tiers. For the cost efficient tier ($27.99), you'll be able to choose 3 of 4 meats (brisket being an add-on per person). The pricing feels steep, considering not everyone will eat the same quantity of food. Note: If you have a large party, expect a 22% auto-gratuity fee.

County Line is one of those Austin mainstays and my recent trip there reminded me as to why. The menu itself is more varied than many BBQ spots, which made it a good choice for a group dinner I was planning for my work team. I wanted everyone to be able to have options and not feel locked into a family-style BBQ experience (which is an option here should that be the direction you want to go). I also wanted the option to sit outside and feel like we were in a casual, beautiful location (check and check with the patio at this location!). Our server - Timothy - was outstanding. The food was plentiful and flavorful. We had quite the variety of options at our table and everyone left happy and full. We started with the queso, which tasted great and there were plenty of chips to go around. I had the BBQ stuffed baked potato with the pulled pork. It was flavorful and well prepared - from the potato to the pork. There is a large parking lot with free parking.

Food is mediocre bbq but the view on the lake is the reason we keep coming back. Perfect for larger groups or families to get a good meal and beautiful view. Usually not very busy so no reservations needed for party of 4 or less

The restaurant has a classic look (wood, brick, and ducts), and the menu - meats priced by the pound on a chalkboard - adds to the retro appeal. Those meats are cut to order by a pitmaster. After making your selection, you proceed down a cafeteria-style line and pick your sides. Sauce, pickles, and Wonder Bread are free. We opted for some brisket, a jalapeno sausage link, potato salad, and creamed corn. The brisket was tender and flavorful if a bit fatty while the sausage boasted a firm bite and a winning combination of spicy and cheesy. Unexpectedly, the creamed corn ended up being a highlight. If that's a side you usually avoid, Cooper's version may end up converting you. That said, the potato salad was nothing special and the sauce was very tomato-and-vinegar-forward. As to be expected given Cooper's location and reputation, prices are also quite high (as in almost $40 a pound for brisket). That's not outrageous for a "name" BBQ place in Austin though if I had to pay that after waiting in a long line, I might walk away disappointed. Cooper's is not the best Texas BBQ you're likely to find, but it's a pretty damn solid representation thereof.

Review: Fierce Flavors at Austin's Top 100 BBQ Tucked into a…read morequintessential corner lot, this Austin food truck isn't just serving barbecue; it's serving a certified experience. As a recipient of the prestigious Texas Monthly Top 100 BBQ Award, the expectations were high--and for the most part, they were met. The venue itself provides a fantastic, relaxed vibe, complete with plenty of TVs and a music stage, making it the perfect spot for chilling out on a lazy afternoon or settling in for an evening hang. The Main Event: Pitmaster Excellence The true test of a Texas BBQ joint is the holy trinity, and here, they nailed the fundamentals: * Brisket: This was Texas BBQ as it should be. The brisket was super juicy, delivered a profound, deep flavor, and possessed a flawless, great bark that spoke to hours of skillful smoking * Spare Ribs: A study in contrast and texture. The ribs offered a satisfying "good pull"--firm enough to bite but still falling cleanly off the bone. The thick, peppery bark was beautifully balanced by a slight sweetness from a pepper jelly glaze, adding a layer of sophisticated flavor you don't always find. * Pork Belly Burnt Ends: These were pure decadence. Each bite provided a delicious, melt-in-your-mouth experience with a distinct and welcome hint of Fierce Whiskers bourbon woven into the smoky, fatty flavor. They are so rich and irresistible, you know you shouldn't eat too many, but good luck stopping. * Jalapeño and Cheese Sausage: This locally sourced link brought the heat with a good level of spice. The flavor was excellent, though the texture leaned slightly toward the processed side, which was the only minor drawback among the meats. The Supporting Cast: Sides A great plate of BBQ requires sides that stand up to the meat, and while two of these were stars, one needs a little work. * Mac & Cheese: An absolute winner. It was cheesy, creamy, and featured an excellent smoked flavor that permeated the dish. The slightly charred edges added a delightful textural counterpoint. * Hash Brown Casserole: This was a surprisingly strong contender, offering a nice assembly of savory flavors. The secret weapon was the corn flake topping, providing an unexpected but welcome crunch, complemented by a satisfying hint of bacon. * Creamed Corn: Unfortunately, this side was the weakest link. It tasted primarily bland, despite a slight peppery note. It desperately needs some fresh jalapeños mixed in to cut through the creaminess and add the essential Texas kick. Final Verdict The meat selection here is truly Top 100 worthy, excelling in technique, flavor, and execution (especially the Brisket and Burnt Ends). The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed gathering. While the Creamed Corn missed the mark, the stellar Hash Brown Casserole and Smoked Mac & Cheese prove that their side game is usually strong. Come for the high-quality, authentic Texas barbecue, stay for the great outdoor patio.

The Moist Beef Brisket was exceptionally juicy and flavorful with a bark that had my attention. The Prime Pork Belly Burnt Ends were definitely an excellent choice. This spot was close to my hotel, and on my departure day, I decided to have one last hit of Q. It's a big restaurant, and it appears to also be quite the music venue. When I went, a little on the early side for a Friday dinner, there was not a wait and I was sat immediately. My server was attentive, and got me in, fed, and back out in plenty of time to catch my already delayed flight. I ordered their 3 meat combo plate, which also came with two sides, and added on a piece of cornbread. I chose brisket of course, as well as turkey and sausage. The server recommended the serrano pepper spinach (like a creamed spinach) and onion rings, and I took those recs. The best of the three meats was the turkey. Not a good sign. It was moist and tender, though not particularly smokey. Even so, I enjoyed it more than the brisket and sausage, which I would have guessed the reverse when ordering. The brisket was on the dry side and kind of bland, it did not smack of being freshly carved. The Stubbs BBQ sauce helped me eat some of it... now I see why they are famous for their sauce. I had a couple bites of the sausage and pushed it aside, I didn't enjoy their recipe on that at all. It was cooked seemingly well, but the blend of spices and meat they use wasn't pleasant to me. The sides, the onion rings were very crispy which I like, but again... something in the batter. Maybe even the oil they were cooked in, I did not enjoy as much. The spinach was actually quite enjoyable, maybe even a little rich. I think if it were warmer, if might help milden out some of that. It was really thick. The cornbread wasn't worth the add-on. No sweetness or anything to make it memorable. Vessel for butter. The portion was massive, and I had leftover food, but did not take it... and that would have been the case even if I wasn't headed to the airport. I wouldn't recommend this spot.

When I tell you these ribs were a religious experience I am not embellishing. Full disclosure: I do not currently live in the south so I don't consider myself a BBQ connoisseur, but I did spend 4 years in the south and have sampled many BBQ joints in the meantime. Take this review as someone who really enjoys BBQ (and any slow cooked meat for that matter) but who could not list more than 10 BBQ restaurants they have eaten at in the last 5 years. So the beef ribs. Great texture, tender meat but still had a bite to it. Expertly seasoned so they were not wet with sauce but still moist. I would consider 1 beef rib a snack, 2 a small meal. I also tried the chopped brisket (brisket and burnt ends sitting in a soup of BBQ sauce). That was also delicious (and more reasonably priced), but I could have done with slightly less sauce. It really was like a soup and while the sauce was tasty, there was too much of it. I went later in the afternoon (around 2/2:30pm) and got their last two beef ribs so going earlier is better. You order at the open kitchen and then pay at the counter when your food is ready. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, you can take your food and sit at any of their tables of which they have many (this place is pretty big). Prices were high for bbq, side options were Mac n cheese, beans, coleslaw, potato salad. Etc. Our group had pork ribs (2) with sides of beans, potato salad, coleslaw & mac n cheese, and a pulled pork sandwich served with pickle and raw onion on the side. Plates came with a slice of white bread. Unfortunately the food was okay but not amazing for what we paid, We will be searching for a good quality bbq still!!!

We both subbed beans for mac and cheese. My friend appeared the most jolly I'd ever seen him and thoroughly enjoyed the chicken. I really liked the mac and cheese, and I liked the chicken as well. The coleslaw was decent, and I often don't like coleslaw. The skin was tough and too much for me, but the food itself was great. The two piece was substantial for me, and the four piece seemed to be a little too much even for a big boy. The restroom floors were suspiciously very wet. I feel like they could provide some moist towelettes because the chicken was very greasy, and we had to just pour water on the napkins. Downtown street parking was a struggle, but I found 2/3 of a spot close by that I decided could count as a spot.

There was a small hiccup with the sides, but the staff was quick to fix it. The sides were good, and the chicken was juicy, flavorful, and didn't need any extra seasoning at all. I just wish the chicken pieces had been a little bigger! Overall, I had a good dining experience. The restaurant was clean and cozy, the service was great, and the chicken was delicious!

The wait was 2 hours , we arrived at 11:48 and we finally ate our food at 1:45. Let me tell you it was worth it . Nestled on the corner of the street not to far from downtown Austin. I suggest you get there when they open if not sooner. While waiting for our food , a server does come down to see more or less what you would like to order . Once inside you are able immediately hit with all kinds of smells . We ordered a pound brisket , and a half of pound ribs and a side of coleslaw and pinto beans which all came with a side of bread . Let me tell you it is more than enough. Obviously the larger the party the more food you have to order The brisket was so tender and juicy and well seasoned. The ribs fell off the bone and the side were really good and I don't even like pinto beans . The women at the register were so lovely and nice and they answered any questions you had . There is indoor and outdoor seating so there is enough space . I did not indulge in the desserts but i would next time . Please do me the favor and visit franklins, it is 1,000 % worth it . Until next time .

I always heard great praise for the brisket from Franklin's and am happy to be able to admit that they have some of the best. As someone who doesn't typically enjoy lean cuts, their leans came out juicier than some place's fattiest cuts. On the fatty cuts, the meat was very well rendered, and it remained succulent! I will say I was expecting more flavoring from bark, but it was very much a "taste the essence of the quality of craftsmanship of this meat" rather than an emphasis of seasoning. While very well prepared, I did need some bbq sauce to make it hit. I enjoy ribs from a couple other spots more than I did from Franklin's, but ya can't do it all. As for the sides, I was sadly disappointed. The pickles were incredibly salty and the beans were a flavor and textural miss. The potato salad was okay, but I would call it not far off from what you'd get in a bucket from HEB. Had me missing the quality sides from Interstellar 100%! We did pickup to split with friends and skip the line. In ordering ahead, you're not allowed to eat there. Unfortunately, they didn't provide any utensils or napkins for our BBQ picnic. Eat with those hands and lick them fingers!

We found Gebby's BBQ to be reasonably priced compared to other Austin BBQ restaurants. From the beginning, both Chris (The Owner and Master Pit Man) and Elizabeth to be extremely professional and prompt. Any questions or changes needed on the quote, they were on top of anything we needed. The day of the event, they arrived early as they said they would and set up quickly. The aroma of the food was wonderful throughout our venue. We had a handful of vegetarian/vegan employees and the offer a smoked vegetable tray with corn tortillas as one of their options. The food we chose was a 3 meat plate with 3 sides and cookies for the dessert. We chose Brisket, Turkey and Sausage. For the sides, we had Gouda Mac and Cheese, Creamed Corn and Beans. Everything was extremely delicious and the feedback I gathered from numerous employees was nothing but positive reviews on the food. They even allow us to KEEP the leftover food! This was awesome as we had a few bbq quotes that STATED that we could not keep the leftover food! Overall, our experience with them far exceeded our expectations and I would recommend them for your catering needs!
