Company needs a negative 5 stars. Charges top dollar for a service that your lucky if they provide. They straight up lie to you on the phone about why your garbage didn't get picked up. The usual line they hand you is, "The driver said the cans weren't out there." I have 24hr surveilance which proves otherwise. When I point out that I have cameras that's when they get nasty with you on the phone. Then you get lied to again when they tell you the truck will come back or they are sending the small truck later that day. read more

Having been using the service for almost a year it has been getting worse with each passing week. Over 50% failure to pick up on the designated day. Multiple calls to their office. Excuses of broken down equipment (not my problem) and promises to pick up which doesn't happen. If you want a headache, send your money to County Waste or any of their sister companies such as Ace Carting then try to obtain the service you pay for in advance. The service reps read from the script to get your money and not provide service. Soon you pay for a month with a pick up each week but the company is only giving you a pick up twice during the month. Never picked up my garbage. I had to call up every week to get them to pick up my garbage. I finally fired them after months of frustration. Now 3+ weeks later they haven't picked up their cans! Calling customer service is a nightmare. I'm usually number 22 and have at least a 20-30 minute wait. I'm amazed that they stay in business. If I could give them a lower rank I would. Cancelled service because they would go weeks between pickups even after I would call them on a weekly basis. Trash would be overflowing and they would not pickup any of the bags outside of the can. When they finally came to pickup the trash cans after I cancelled service ( mind you this was 3 months later) they dumped the trash in my driveway that must have been left in the bottom of the can. More than two weeks ago I ordered service and trash receptacles, they have yet to arrive. Although County Waste did immediately charge me for two months on non-service. The absolute worst company that you could use to do business with. I received a visit from the salesman, Ernie Palmer, on 7/21/16 to renew our trash removal service. Because the service had not been good, he said we could enter a 1-yr contract instead of a the traditional 3-yr. I asked for it in writing and he wrote under the 'special instructions' section, that this was a 'one year agreement'. After poor service, we called to cancel around Feb 2018. We were told we were under contract for three years. I could not locate our agreement so I didn't put up a fuss. Eventually we found it and saw that our contract actually expired on 7/31/2017. I was upset to know that they lied, but simply called to cancel. They kept transferring me to leave voicemails. Nobody calls you back from this company. I finally received an email from Ernie Palmer and he tells me that the fine print, aside from his verbal and written confirmation that I was in a '1 yr agreement, states that I have to honor a 3 year agreement. He then tells me that if they come to remove their dumpster, that they will impose a 6 month service penalty on my company. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. EVER. read more

Quite possibly the most dishonest and disreputable company I have every dealt with. Was a very happy Greene-Del customer for years but then County Waste bought them out. Didn't show up at least once a month (we paid for weekly collection). Always had some excuse that somehow made it our fault. We racked up a bunch of credit with them for not picking up. We moved and canceled service. Somehow the $40 credit vanished and not only are they refusing to refund us the money and has turned into a $5 bill. Despite three different calls to customer service promising "all was fixed" they have sent us to collection over the $5. The absolute worst. Not just trash pickup but the worst business I've ever experienced. Ordered service on December 18. Was told pickup was Thursday. Somehow they did deliver the container. Put trash on curb every Wednesday night. Never got picked up. Called and was told pickup delayed because of holiday. Next week, no pickup. Called again. Will pickup next Thursday. Nope. Went on for a month. No pickup and garbage accumulated. Called and cancelled service. Apologized and offered 3 free months. Are you kidding ? F no! Come get your can. Told they send truck out on Thursday. It's after 6 and can is sitting full at the curb. Going to hire someone to pick up trash and the container to dispose of and will send them the bill. I am a weekend resident of Columbia County. This is worst company I've ever dealt with, hands down. My trash was picked up 50% of the time, but their bill always arrived like clockwork. Expect to wait forever to get through to their customer service department. I thought I didn't have a choice for garbage removal, but I contacted a local handy man that will pick up my trash weekly for a fraction of the cost County Waste charged. An absolute nightmare to deal with. You would have a better chance of teaching your dog to do the macarena then figuring out when (if ever) they will grace you with their presence, and do their job. I have had to flag them down more than once, to come back and pick up my garbage. They leave the bins in the middle of the street half the time, and the other half of the time, on my hedges. Reliably unreliable. Nearly every other week the truck skips our street and to add salt to the wound they'll leave you a notice stating the need for a larger dumpster, it's overfilled because they skipped a week. Try calling into their offices; caller #10, please hold and listen to our recorded message about how great we are. Eventually you get a real person who will ask the same questions and then assure you the trucks are out on the road. Predictably their reason is always the same; must be a new driver. That misses an entire street on a regular basis? Don't expect them to get out of the truck either, if it's not in the bin it sits there. Recently reading about how CW doesn't recycle makes me wonder what in the hell am I throwing them money for. If you want a company with great call-center customer service, DON'T HIRE THIS ONE. Lindsay & Lena... pop to my mind first. They were robotic in their customer care with NO sign of empathy in their training. I found it awkward to bring up issues with them. They have caller ID and treat you like you're a strange call, or something to that effect. I had a billing problem; their system stopped billing me suddenly and I was to blame, I guess. I did my own investigation, which uncovered a weakness in their system, and that was enough to support my decision to drop their service like a live mic. I called each time I was missed to complain and have my garbage picked up. They came only one time. I requested to be refunded for the missed pick up, fell on deaf ears I guess? ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Signed up for residential services on May 4th. Was advised they were behind on delivering cans so we pushed our start date to May 16th as we were already utilizing the dump so no big deal. The representative assured me we would have cans before our pick up date.....cans never came. Called on the 16th and was told cans would be delivered before the next week pick up and my account would be credited for that week.....still no cans were delivered. Called on the 23rd because we STILL did not receive cans and our garbage was starting to get piled up. The rep was able to send a driver out to pick it up that day and assured me we would have cans by mid week this week. It is now Wednesday again which is our regular pick up day and still no cans and the garbage truck has not come to pick up our trash. We have a large wildlife population where we live and cannot leave bags of garbage on the street in hopes this company decides to do its job! Called again today, May 30th and was told they are on a delay due to Memorial Day, although their website says they are running on normal schedule. It's one thing after another with these people! Each time I call I am the 15th+ caller and wait on hold 20-45 minutes before speaking to someone. After given them ample time to make things right I've determined this is a terribly run business and will be finding another garbage provider. read more

County waste are the worst . I paid my bill for the three months ahead as I always do and they took our cans yesterday. We call and they said I cancelled back in December. I said I didn't cancel and if I had why would I have pre paid for the upcoming months? I had stayed I need my payment back then for I paid for a service I didn't receive and they told me 8 weeks for a refund. WTF. Horrible service and employees not able to read their route maps. We have been a customer of County Waste for about 10 years but this is it with these people!. Last year they missed numerous pickups, they blame it on manpower, snow, rain or whatever but it's mostly nonsense lies.   Their favorite line of bs is "the cans were not out" which is total nonsense because we needed the weekly pickup and NEVER missed putting out the cans. Although our area is rural, they claim they service us but it's hit an miss, more often miss. Our latest experience was they missed us last week but came the following Friday. I saw them pick up my neighbor's trash but they skipped me and several other neighbors despite me whistling and yelling to get their attention before they pulled up the road. Very unreliable, customer service is so rude and had the nerve to hang up on me after I held on over 2 hrs to get through because she didn't like what I had to say, I asked why they haven't picked up my trash in 7 weeks and why do they keep telling me they'd be there tomorrow when tomorrow never comes and why do you keep telling me the driver said the road is impassable when everyone in my neighborhood drives these roads, the FedEx, ups, gas delivery driver and all kinds of other vehicles drive up and down our rd. If you are on a small road, with a slight incline, they will not show up and claim it was too icy, even though it's been plowed and everyone else goes up it fine. Even when you call them several times because they do not show up, the reps give excuses that it was frozen brake lines and they will be there soon. Then you drive down the road and everyone else is picked up. They never come back. You call to complain and more excuses and to TOP IT OFF, they never give you credit for the weeks they miss. Interesting to see all the negative reviews here, I'm with County waste for over 8 months now, and so far we are very satisfied. I guess it depends on the location, we are in hunter area. They did miss the pick up date twice or maybe a third time as well, they always came the next day. Whatever special need we have we call our sales rep direct, and always got satisfied. It is January 24th, and since December we have had two pickups our of a scheduled eight. Weather is not to blame, though the company often claims it is (this does not explain the other waste companies that pick up on our street on these days, nor UPS, nor FedEx, none of whose drivers seem to be challenged by the conditions). Not only does County Waste continually miss pick-ups, their customer service is repugnant. The operators speak with you as if you have no choice (you have other choices) and that the billing will continue no matter what. These people have horrific customer service, non-existent customer support, rude drivers who rarely make their pickups, and a level of entitlement not often seen outside expensive private colleges. I strongly recommend you try anyone else, or that you haul your trash to the dump yourself. read more

The service was great up until date of cancelation. They kept insuring that the bins would be removed on a certain date, but failed to actually do so. Being as I moved (not many other reasons to cancel the service besides switching providers, so this cannot be an uncommon issue), it has been a huge hassle to deal with and County Waste has done nothing to assist other than promise me specific dates three times now, and not even give me the courteousy of contacting me when they no show me. They have the rudest customer service girls I have ever spoken to. I called to ask if there was a delay, I was told to put my garbage up the night before. Well I live in the middle of nowhere with animals, I am NOT putting it up the night before, I think 5 am is early enough. Then she stated nope I don't see any delays....well my neighbor said he received a robo call stating there was. HORRIBLE and overpriced and SCAMMING service. I called to ask about the price to pick up a standard vacuum cleaner. The lady on the phone told me 15.00. I told her nevermind. I chopped it up myself with a mallot, hurt myself in the process, ouch, and put the pieces in a trashbag, and put in the regular can. Got billed for the 15.00 anyway. I went on the chat feature, and was told it was the vacuum. I told her I did not leave one. She said I called to say I was leaving one and it was picked up. I told her (Sierra) that I just inquired, and declined once I heard the price, and I chopped it up and put it in the trash in a bag. She told me that it was still a bulk item!!! I asked her if they personally go through each bag to see, or if they have X-ray equipment. She went back to the "you called for us to come take it" stance. I am switching to Potts and Monger. They have terrible service too, but they are cheaper, and I never heard of them scamming people like this. read more
