Pushy then says it takes 30 days to cancel a service agreement and that it doesn't reduce your monthly payment to what I agreed it would take to buy the car. I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with this dealership. I drove over an hour to get there because I saw online that they had the exact car I wanted in stock. Well when I arrived, they couldn't find the car and I was later told that a salesperson had taken the car home for the day and I would need to come back the next day. That was already a major inconvenience. When I returned, the car was there but it was dirty inside and out, which was surprising considering it was supposed to be a brand-new vehicle. It was obvious that staff had been driving it, putting miles on it, and not taking care of it. This was a brand new car and it had already had over 100 miles on if from the staff joy riding in it and this car was the only one of its kind/model on the lot. What sense does that even make to do that with the only version of that car on the lot. Well after test driving the car the next day, I decided I still wanted to move forward with the purchasing the car and prior to coming in, I had confirmed that they were willing to negotiate. However, once we sat down to discuss pricing, they refused to come down even $1,000. Things became even more uncomfortable when I told them I planned to finance through my bank. They repeatedly questioned my decision and tried to pressure me to use their financing instead of respecting my choice. The situation then escalated when the sales manager got involved and said, "I just don't understand why you are financing with the bank and it doesn't make sense." That comment was unnecessary and unprofessional. It's not their place to question how I choose to finance my vehicle. Overall, the experience felt disrespectful and uncomfortable. At times, the treatment I received made me question whether I was being treated fairly. I also felt like they were being racist. Because of this, I chose to leave and take my business elsewhere. I ultimately purchased my new Kia SUV from University Kia of Durham, where I was treated with professionalism and respect from start to finish. Purchased my car here in 2024 along with an oil change package. I drive all the way from Kannapolis to Wilkinson Boulevard, which is about a 45 minute drive. My last visit they did not tell me I was using my last oil change. So I drove all the way here today to be told after two hours that it is costing $101. I pointed out that the issue was with the left turn signal, so why would the right headlight need fixing? After some back-and-forth, they abruptly changed their story, stating it would be covered under warranty and providing me with a date for the part's arrival. However, the day after my visit, I noticed what appeared to be damage on the passenger side door, which looked consistent with a lift point. Concerned, I called the dealership immediately, and a manager told me to bring the car in at 7:45 AM on December 20th. This was quite an inconvenience as I live two hours away in Asheville. He then said I was banned from Kia and dismissed any concerns I had about my warranty claim, insisting it was "my problem now." His face was inches from mine when he yelled at me to leave, which made me feel threatened. I walked to the parking lot to call Kia of America for assistance, and he continued to shout threats regarding trespassing. To my dismay, after this encounter, I received paperwork indicating that my warranty claim for the headlight was denied due to the same scratch they initially mentioned--on the right side--and the fact that I had considered seeking legal advice because of the treatment I received. When I made the appointment I was told it would take one hour and 45 minutes. Well it took three hours. In addition, I had them do an oil change because the "oil change" light was on. Just before they completed the service the service rep needed my security code to clear the message. I got in my car and headed home and guess what? They never cleared the oil change notice. was sold a used car from Courage KIA. They said everything was checked out on the car. After I signed the contract, I took the car to my mechanic, and he discovered that the whole undercarriage was rusted. The muffler, the shock absorbers, the rotators. He said it had been in water somewhere and that the car was going to need a lot of money to fix. Plus, he said they did not service the car before they sold it to me or they would have known this and were obligated to disclose this to me, which they did not. He also said the coolant wasn't filled, the oil was dirty and a part of the engine was not secured. I went right back and told them I didn't want the car and they said too bad I signed the contract. I need a car because the car they sold me last June needed repairs that costs me hundreds of dollars until it finally blew a gasket. So, this is the second time I have had to deal with them! I am a 63 year old woman who lives on disability. They took advantage of me and I want them investigated for bad business practices and I want my money back which they refuse to do! Please help me!! I brought my car there for a battery replacement and standard oil change. I was also having issues with my brakes and while there was told they needed to be replaced. My brakes had been replaced less than a year ago at this dealership, so the service rep gave me a $100 discount. When signing up for the appointment I clicked a link in an email sent to me with a coupon for 10% off. When I was contacted and told the car was ready for pickup I asked the service rep if the 10% discount had been applied. He confirmed it was and confirmed the discount of $100. I picked up my car, paid for the invoice using Sunbit (a third party lender they partner with) and left. When I got home and reviewed my receipt, I realized the 10% hadn't been applied. I called in and was told by the service rep that $100 was the max they could do. I had the coupon on my phone and pointed out the discrepancy of it saying $150 and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor I spoke with stated that he could apply a discount of $50 to my next oil change. This was unacceptable as the discount should have been the $100+ the 10% off. The supervisor stated that he needed some benefit out of the transaction. This was and continues to be a massive red flag for me. When I pointed out I did not care about him deriving benefit from the situation he tried to clean it up but I asked to speak to the person above him. He said he would have them reach out the next day. The next day, after several hours I spoke with the general manager and he said my next regular service (oil change/tire rotation) would be free. Again, not acceptable. The fact that I had a brake issue within 1 year of it being replaced indicates to me something was not done properly and the fact that there is now run-around for a resolution is a problem. As I did not feel I was being properly listened to over the phone and was being dismissed, I told them I would bring the car back and they could put the original parts back into the car. They could then cancel the whole transaction and I would take my business to a different Kia dealership. Over the phone they said that would not be done, but I already had my keys in hand. I went to the dealership and was spoken with by the general manager and service manager. I was able to speak more fully on what happened and able to hear their explanations; I was given a coupon for the regular services at my next visit. Unfortunately, the trust is gone. While going through the latest bill to see where the discount was I started to wonder if any of the other discounts sent out via email were applied. I found 2 bills, 1 specifically stated I had a coupon but nothing had been applied as a discount. I did bring this up and was told they don't know what coupon that was and that they don't have anything for it. They stated they were going to change/train the staff better on coupons but the fact that it's happened more than 1 time to me tells me this probably a very widespread issue among their customers. They relied on the commentary of the emails stating the coupon must be presented at write-up but the fact that they have that in the email tells me they for sure are relying on customers not brining it up to make more money. Also, I would expect their service reps to know when coupons are being applied- especially if they are confirming they have been applied to bills. The next issue on why I cannot recommend them is they claim to have no recourse or means of correcting an incorrect Sunbit loan THEY processed. That does exceed my level of belief. If they make mistakes on bills and charge the client through a third party that they have in their organization, they have no means of correcting that issue? DISHONEST, Distasteful, Unethical, Unprofessional are just a few words to describe Courage Kia. Funny how they call themselves Courage Kia because they really have no courage at all! My experience with Courage Kia just keeps getting worse 6 months later. My experience began in October 2022 when I purchased a Kia Sportage from them. I live about 2 hours away and they were the only dealership relatively nearby who had the exact model I wanted. So we settled on a price over the phone and I drove up the next morning and was there when they opened. Upon arrival to purchase the car, it was the wrong interior and not the interior the Website showed nor the one the salesman confirmed it had. It was confirmed Green with Black interior, when I arrived, that was incorrect. It's was green but Due to the limited inventory and having already agreed to a price, I proceeded with the purchase even though it was not the interior I wanted. Problem #1. Problem #2 involved the finance person, Donald Grant. See the original review above. Problem #3 has been ongoing. As part of the deal a maintenance plan was included - it was $599 and included oil changes for 3 years or 36,000 miles (6 oil changes). I had a maintenance plan through Kia (fidelity) with my previous Kia Sportage and loved it so I happily agreed to purchase another. However, I outright asked and was assured multiple times that I could use this maintenance plan at any Kia dealership and that it wouldn't be a problem. I specifically asked if they were sure because I didn't live in Charlotte and would need to have my car serviced in South Carolina where I live. They promised me it wouldn't be a problem. Fast forward to March 2023, I was ready to get my first oil change. I went to my local Kia dealership and tried to use my maintenance plan. They looked up my VIN and told me I didn't have a maintenance plan with Kia. I got out my paperwork from Courage and they told me that this wasn't a plan they accept. I paid for the oil change and called Courage as soon as I was finished. I spoke with David Pritchard, the sales manager, who gave me his personal cell number and assured me that this was a mistake, and he would call my dealership and straighten it out. In the meantime, he would mail me a check for the oil change. A month went by and I checked in with him several times and never received a check. After some investigation, I discovered that the maintenance plan is theoretically "nationwide" because any dealership can opt into this third-party warranty but many do not. So it's not actually nationwide because it is dependent on the dealership being part of the Power Protect network. Never was I told this and never did they suggest calling my local dealership to ensure they accepted this plan. They were dishonest the whole way. Had they told me this, I would have happily sprung for a more expensive maintenance plan that did in fact work at my dealership. I've now been dealing with this since March and its June. Nobody from Courage will return my phone calls. I've been trying to cancel the plan that I can't use and have it credited back to my loan. I tried to go around Courage and call the maintenance plan company, Power Protect, myself and talked with a woman named Crystal Harris. She discovered the check had been sent to the wrong address. To an address that I listed on my loan application as a previous address within the last 5 years. I had even sent Courage my current address. Two weeks ago I was promised by both Rachel Cook at the Courage Finance office and by Crystal Harris at PowerProtect that a new check was being issued and sent to my current address and then my contract would be cancelled. I haven't received the check nor will either party return my emails. This dealership has made countless mistakes at my expense and have done nothing to rectify the situation. I have tried to handle this over the phone like an adult but it seems they are more worried about their image with "reviews" since they called me right after I made the first one so I am left with no choice but to write another review. A review every consumer will be able to read and hopefully it will encourage others who have had similar experiences with this dealership. I have made countless attempts to fix the problem since none of the 3 Kia dealerships near me accept this plan and it seems Courage Kia wants to play games. So let's the games begin! I am in the process of writing a formal complaint to any/all necessary entities Including Kia corporate for this dealership's dishonesty, misleading and downright unethical practices! Courage Kia has treated me with less than respect and the fact they call themselves Courage Kia when they possess no Courage at all is laughable. I purchased a 2023 Kia sorento from Courage Kia and at the time of purchase, the quote was wrong. We noticed the math didn't add up and hidden cost was somewhere-when the manager was confronted he explained it was a glitch since they recently changed softwares. Very sketchy as he said they've had the software at least a year (how many other people were scammed?) After lots of back and forth, it took him 2 mins to correct the quote that was originally told off as a glitch. We purchased the car, and now 4 months later, the car was taken to their service department as the gears weren't shifting correctly. I made a 7AM appointment only for them to tell me at 5PM that they hadn't looked at it yet. They have no cars available that I can use in the meantime, and since they don't know what's wrong to see if it's under warranty-they can't give a rental. Few days later-they said the car needs a new transmission (after 30K miles) and it'll take a week to get the part, and 3 days to service. Warranty was denied due to a truly unbelievable story told by the service manager. Supposedly the car had 3 spark plugs of 1 brand and 1 of another. Complain About Brake Squeal!!! If you can convince them to fix the problem and not try to kick the issue or say they cannot reproduce it. They may try to kill you and your family too by putting anti-seize on your brakes as well. They employ technicians that will do highly dangerous things to your vehicle. My wife complained about a consistent brake squeal in the December. She scheduled an appointment to take it in on Friday, 12/16/2022. The service advisor told her everything was fine and that all Kia's brakes squeal. I found this unacceptable and told them they needed to fix the problem as we didn't pay for a new car to have the brakes squeal. They couldn't do anything that evening as all of the technicians were gone, and setup an appointment for Wednesday 12/21/2022. My wife pulls up and meets Karen who says to her it says your brakes squeak, but they didn't do it when you pulled in so when are they doing it?. She proceeded to have an attitude according to my wife. Karen and someone else drove the car a little bit and said they couldn't get the brakes to squeal and they couldn't do anything, for my wife. After the service advisor Wednesday said they would be able to apply disc brake quiet or something comparable to the back of the pads on 12/16/2022 the whole reason for the second appointment. I called the Service manager Eric Derby, who is very hard to reach as no one in service wants you to talk to their boss and the phone system dial by name doesn't work. I finally got ahold of Eric and spoke with him and he said he would take care of it and we setup an appointment for 1/6/2023. I sent a confirmation email that was apparently never received etc... My wife showed up for the appointment on 1/6/2023 and was greeted by Karen telling her they wouldn't be able to do anything again. She told Karen I am here to see Eric and she said Eric is sick an has gone home. Luckily Eric was still there and according to my wife told them "what to do and to put the paperwork on his desk." She also said another guy said to take pictures I want to see that. Well she left the Kia dealership and called me when she was about halfway home saying the brakes weren't squeaking but they were making a lot of noise and it was juddering going down hill. I told her to take the vehicle home and I would look when I got home. I didn't get to check the vehicle until Saturday morning. When I checked the vehicle the rotor friction surface had been sprayed with a liberal coating of Anti-Seize. A dealership put my family at risk applying Anti-Seize (lubricant) to the friction side of the brakes. I called and was told they wouldn't be able to do anything until Monday. I spoke with Eric Derby and asked what would have been sprayed on my brakes on the friction side. He said they had a spray that was "black" that would be applied to the pad made by B&G product. I told him well someone sprayed Anti-Seize onto the friction surface and asked if he had received my email, which I guess he hadn't once again. He was extremely concerned that this would have been applied to the friction surface of my brakes and offered to replace the pads or send me a set of pads. He also confirmed via phone call that afternoon, when confirming the shipping address for the pads, that his technician did spray anti-seize on my brake rotors. This was one of his better technicians that did this also, which really makes me wonder about the intentions behind applying a lubricant to the brakes. I am posting this to warn others, that they employee technicians that are either not trained enough to know better or that will do something dangerous to put your families life at risk. They certainly put my wife's life at risk by intentionally applying none approved substances to the friction surface of the brakes. read more

Wanted to know when we want to pick up vehicle. Got financing in place baby 9:45 called back and apparently the sales manager allowed for another party to come in at Noon and not IF THEY do not buy the vehicle then we can have it. We were in right at close on Saturday and they were not open on Sunday. Could have easily told us that so we did not pull credit and jump through hoops. Yes limited vehicles we get, but this is not how you do business or treat people. all the good will Kia created with us doing PutOnTheBrakes program is now gone. I had to call weekly to get updates because they didn't bother to contact me until 6 weeks later Chris contacted me asking what was going on since I had a loaner car. He claimed no information was in there system, he was extremely rude and condensinding. I had to contact corporate after 3 times calling them they finally ordered a rush. I picked up my vehicle the next day I drove and it was roaring and shaking. When I made an offer on a car, I was told "we have no interest in selling at that price". They also DO NOT allow outside financing and required going through Kia to finance. All purchases include a mandatory window tinting and paint protection package, regardless of whether you want it or not. Then they transitioned across the street and the bs began. Failures to call me back, simple notifications of deficiencies of in stock items, inability to cancel appointments prior to me driving 30-45 minutes due to lack of labor/items, and finally being hung up on twice was the culmination of my dealings with Courage Kia. Update - The Service Manager, Eric, reached out after rec'ing this negative review. My car was looked at the next morning and diagnosed with needing a new transmission. Of course, that would be no problem if I was the original purchaser of the car, which I am not. So now I am deciding whether to install a new transmission on a 2019 vehicle (95K miles) or cut my losses and move on from Kia all together. I've tried to get 2 different Kia service centers to diagnose the issue since my first oil change. (I have literally only had the car for 1 year) I do appreciate the Eric D. for being very professional and helping get my car diagnosed, but Kia has left a bad taste in my mouth at this point in time. Trying to get in touch with a service rep is impossible. You would think with the amount they charge for their services, someone would call you back after two full weeks of trying to get in touch with them for a service quote. 6 messages left and none of the calls have been returned. I have even tried calling the district customer service number to send a message for them to call. BEWARE! I went there to buy my daughter a new 2020 Kia Soul that I had researched online. I printed out the online price and supposedly made a deal for the car. The final price was more than advertised but I was informed that the extra $1700 was for oil changes and air and oil filters for 5 years and it was not an option. Being my daughter lives an hour away I finally agreed to the total price and wrote out a check for the total amount with the agreement that my daughter would be there in a couple of days to sign the paperwork to be put in her name. Some time after picking up the car and time to change the oil, we find out they did not put the $1700 oil change on the final paperwork that my daughter had signed. They redistributed the $1700 to the price of the car and other items. Very shady people work at this location so make sure everything is on the final paperwork before leaving!!! read more

I had my grandson in to buy his first car on his own. We were very impressed with the service. Joseph McFadden the salesman was outstanding.
