Chances are, if you're looking for a motel in King City, it's because you're (A) en route to or from somewhere, or, (B) unable to find an available campsite nearby. We booked a room at Courtesy Inn because we fell into one of those categories. We walked into our room, and it looked very basic, but fine. There was a faint smell of *something* but I was willing to overlook that. It wasn't until we pulled down the comforter and saw the fitted sheet that there was cause for alarm. The sheet was wrinkled, and not in that "fresh out of the washing machine" way. It was wrinkled like someone had slept in the bed and the sheets had not been changed. On top of that, there was a nice long hair in the middle of the sheet. We called room service to ask for fresh sheets, but were instead asked to move to a new room. The new room did have new sheets, but was really run-down looking. And, as far as the continental breakfast, it was very limited in choices. But really, that was not a surprise. read more

Wanted to visit my husband down at Camp Roberts for Father's Day. Turns out Cal Poly was having it's graduation so Paso Robles was completely sold out, and they had one room at the Econo Lodge in SLO for $300. I finally settled on King City, which was also quickly running out of rooms, but at least still reasonably priced, I believe my rate was $80? They always say, you get what you pay for, so my expectations were reasonable, however I was pleasantly surprised. It looks like they are kinda in the middle of renos, upgraded bathrooms, bed soft as a feather, not what you'd expect from your typical cut rate motel. Though King City wasn't my destination of choice, the courtesy inn helped me make the most of it by providing a great night sleep. read more

Reasonable rates, newly remodeled, feaux hardwood floor, only place open in central Cali last Saturday along 101, hidden gem. Nice, hard-working woman behind the counter who seemed to stay up all night checking in late-night travelers. Air conditioner was a little dirty, maybe from not needing to be used for a while. Poor water pressure in shower. Room numbers were not clear from parking lot so it was hard to find our room and know where to park. read more

In the middle of renovating. My room was fine. The clerk was nice, and gave me a nice, quiet room. I asked for no noise. Everything was in good shape. Frig, micro, roomy bathroom. Working Wi-Fi. The price is reasonable. I missed the breakfast, so no comment on that. The owners are nice and available. I'd go back there, if in the area. read more

Someone who was visiting or working at this establishment attempted to run fraud attempts on my debit card. I'd suggest that if you are staying there, don't use a credit card. Oh - and I've never been to the hotel, but the bank states that the charge was run by hand, in person. read more

We pulled into Keefers Inn, but when I mentioned dog owner sent us to Courtesy Inn, w/wooden floors as pet-friendly rooms. We really liked it, especially the floors. It felt very clean. Standard gross bedspreads, but comfy armchairs. Cheap, $69 for family of three and dog. Hot tub jets not functioning. Big bathroom. Cable tv goes fuzzy throughout establishment, bugged my husband more than me. read more

Terrible place 69 dollars for a night of hell. Beds are dirty full of hair and I saw some of what we believed to be bed bugs. Wifi doesn't work. Paint drippings on some of the chairs which smell bad when you sit in them. read more

My Dad called ahead to get a rate to stay at their hotel for an extended stay for a business trip. The owner's wife quoted a rate of $55 a night including two dogs and taxes. While calling around, he also called the Keefer Inn and reached the husband, who remarked that his wife had already quoted the Courtesy Inn for $55 a night with two (very small) dogs--and he did not seem very happy about it! When we showed up to checkin, she denied that she had quoted us the price and wanted $79 per night plus taxes. Do not trust this place as they do not keep their word in oral contracts--and there was no misunderstanding whatsoever! read more

This is place is nothing like they advertise. There rooms are dirty with toothpaste on the shower curtains and plugged sinks with no one at the front desk to help till the next day. Call AAA, this place is not even on there list yet they advertise a AAA inn. Be aware the same owners run the Keefer's Inn also. read more

I was very happy with my one night stay at Courtesy Inn. My room was much nicer than the bland exterior lead me to expect. It seemed newly remodeled with decorator paint color, very nice bed with comforter, and new furniture throughout. The refrigerator was separated from the sleeping area by a door, which is a very good idea (I have often unplugged the refrigerator in other hotels when it was bothering me). This is a small detail but I really liked the shower. There was a no-slip mat provided (it amazes me how many hotels don't seem to care that their shower floor is slippery) and the shower head was high enough that I didn't have to bend over to get my head under it. The room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and quiet and the area felt safe. I do not ask for more than that, especially in King City -- home to many one-star hotels. The pool looked fine but since my stay was in January I did not use it. The one negative I have to report is that the included breakfast was fairly limited. I didn't see any fruit or eggs, mostly just carbs. read more

I travel frequently with my family and stay at motel's many times a year. For the price range of this motel it was Very DISSAPOINTING!!! First, as we get there it says on many of the doors different types of suites for example: The Dust Storm Suite, The San Miguel Suite, The Forest Suite, etc. Well, we stayed in one of the suites and when we walked in, the room had a terrible smell. "The suite" had a refrigerator about 1foot by 1 foot and a coffee maker and a tiny microwave IN THE BATHROOM! The air is by the window and barely works. This suite is not typical of suites I have stayed in. This is more like a large room. On the bright side, there is a Hot Breakfast, well at least I was told by the nice sign outside there was a Hot Breakfast... The Breakfast starts from 6:00 am till 9:30 am but when my family and me got there at 8:00 am it was such A MESS! Food still on the tables, Cereal all over the counters, milk and juice out of the fridge (who knows how long the milk was out!) The Gourmet Drinks was out of order. It looked like the motel lobby had a trash/food fight!!! The only thing that was good was the orange juice and the waffle maker. :) Oh and let me just add on how "nice" the lady at the front desk was. Very rude, lazy, and lacking customer service skills. And she only cleaned up the breakfast/information room after we said something but did a lousy job at it! Clean, quiet, convenient and economical. Doesn't get better than this, especially if you're just stopping for some rest and a shower. Under new ownership, it's now a super 8. Our room was recently remodeled. Will be back if we pass through here again. read more

My family recently had a mini-family reunion in King City. In the past 2 years, Courtesy Inn was not great, but reasonable in rates & service. This year, 2nd weekend in June, was a truly disappointing experience. Several rooms were booked well in advance (2 months or more), and several calls were made to confirm rooms less than three days prior to arrival. However, upon arrival, rooms were not as confirmed. My personal reservation for 5 rooms was suppose to be 4 out of the 5 rooms downstairs due to a few elderly and handicapped people, (there is no accessible elevator), one of those elderly relatives had to move two times to accommodate absolute need for handicapped. Another relative also had confirmed reservations for several rooms with double beds, ended up with a single quarters, and another relativedid not have their room at all, and had to be relocated. They blamed it on a computer glitch, however, I felt the adjustments could have been less unsettling. Additionally, extra towels were not available upon request and some had to wait approximately 1/2 hour before one was available. One relative's bathroom had a cracked toilet seat that "pinched" her! The clerks attitude depended on who was attending. First clerk, upon checking in, was trying her best under the circumstances, but didn't handle the pressure well. The alternate clerk, the next day, was not as courteous as the first. For example, didn't talk unless spoken to, and sometimes curt with responses. Only concession that was made, was to give $10 dollars off for the rooms. We do not feel that was adequate to compensate all of the unexpected adjustments and discomfort WE had to deal with, ESPECIALLY AS CONFIRMED IN ADVANCED CUSTOMERS. We, as a group, have decided, next reunion we will NOT be making arrangements withCourtesy Inn anymore! read more

This place is a true bargain if you are realistic in your expectations. My room, the "San Ramon" (upstairs) was very clean, & smelled fine...the microwave, fridge, towels were very clean. The bed was very comfortable & the pillows so nice I wanted to take them home. Carpet was relatively clean & the 2 sitting chairs seemed new or newly upholstered. The water pressure in the shower was fine but the jets in the jacuzzi are still not working as another reviewer mentioned. The place was quiet, the clerks were very friendly & helpful & you can't beat the fact that the CHP office, a Starbucks, a local diner, Taco Bell & Chevron gas station are all located within the same cul-de-sac/circle. Well lit & security cameras on site. I will go back for the price & hope the improvements they've made continue. read more

This is no longer a "Courtesy Inn". It is a Super 8. Very recently renovated. Nice clean rooms. I loved the hardwood floors as opposed to carpet as seemed much cleaner. Very comfortable King sized bed in our "cheapest" room. Effective air-conditioner! Rates reasonable for the area. As an "over-60" I would have appreciated a grab bar in the tub-shower. Also, smallest soap bars made and the usual thin towels for this non-luxury hotel. Would have received 4 stars except for the breakfast and breakfast area. The continental breakfast features the cheapest of plastic wrapped pastries, non-bagel bagels, generic corn flakes. There was no protein offered. The breakfast area was a mess when I arrived in the middle of its availability...trash can over-flowing, tables strewn with debris. I cleaned it up and then noticed a receptionist sitting behind the very high desk so that I did not see her when I came in. Good coffee. read more
