Stumbled into Allegretto on a whim: was visiting Paso Robles and booked a wine tour. Within 30…read moreminutes of arriving, knew I had to stay. The vision behind this place is truly inspiring and heartwarming. Built from the ground up around sustainability, human energy, and the balance between light and dark: allegretto, as a name, captures it perfectly. There are structures and masterpieces from six continents woven throughout the grounds, and as you walk through, you feel transported: one moment you're in Europe, the next in India, the next rooted right here in the American West. Astrology, art, intention, and the practice of living in the present moment are threaded through every corner. The wine selection has something for every palate. The tasting room mostly outdoors and so relaxing + beautiful, and the club membership is def worth it! What truly sold me were my wine tour hosts, Rosemary and Ryan. From the moment I walked in, they were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about this place. The spa was great too! Jackie and Denise were warm and I got an amazing facial. Started the morning with yoga in the chapel, which was serene and restorative in the best possible way. The restaurant, Cello, is also excellent. Renee and Devyn were kind & welcoming. Lisa and Ava at the front desk were gracious and warm every time I crossed their path. Also found the most thoughtful, reasonably priced gifts for my family at the wine tasting room: a rare bonus. Heard they're building a second pool that will include both a family pool and an adults-only pool too. A few small notes I'm sharing in the spirit of the brand itself: not as complaints, but as easy wins for mgmt. For a resort so deeply rooted in sustainability, plastic cups at the water stations felt out of place. Switching to paper would be a simple change with a meaningful impact. Similarly, the mats in the chapel were the Amazon brand, which didn't feel aligned with the intentionality of everything else here. And one logistical thing worth noting: a portion of the grounds was blocked off for a wedding the morning after I checked in (pic included) Had planned to wander early and would have really appreciated a heads up at booking so I could plan accordingly. None of this changes my overall experience or my enthusiasm for this place. Allegretto is one of those rare destinations that if the above aligns with what you enjoy, you will be transported. Highest possible recommendation.

He has curated an extensive collection of art and furniture for the resort. I believe what is missing here is that The Allegretto needs to be more conscious of " hotel management " techniques. For example , the rooms are dated and somber. On both of our trips the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were " saggy ".The rooms need to be updated in color schemes and vibe. There are only 2 elevators for this massive sprawling resort... too much walking! We had to go to the front desk three times because there were no valet people out in front. Because of these experiences I am not sure we will be back .

From the start, the staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The manager, Layla, personally greeted us at check in and gave us a lot of great advice for the local area (where to eat, rent boats, etc). Whenever we stopped by the main office on our way in or out, she remembered my name and checked in to make sure everything was going great. We didn't run into any real issues, but I could tell they would have diligently solved them. Once we got to the cabin, the breathtaking view of the lake from the cabin and balconies was so serene. There was even a little private beach (only about 20 feet long) which we share with a few of our resort neighbors but was mostly empty. Perfect to dip our feet in the water and jump on the boogie board -- literally 2 minute walk from our balcony. The food options are a little limited, but the remote nature is one of the perks of this place, so I can't complain. What I ate from the local pizza joint and grocery was all tasty. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating utensils so you could definitely take care of yourself with ease. The beds were comfortable and AC strong (both musts for me). Overall I can't really think of anything I'd change. Except maybe staying 2 nights longer.

We were staying nearby at Lucia Lodge and needed a better dinner option. I emailed the front desk to see if we could get in (phone service is non existent at times in Big Sur but I did have WiFi at our room). They responded quickly, I got some cell service, and we confirmed our reservation for last seating at 8:30. Sydney at the front desk, great name by the way, also confirmed a $25 corkage fee for the special bottle we wanted to bring. We did the 4 course dinner and it was a pleasant surprise to have so many good choices with each course. I went crudo, soup, steak and panna cotta; the better half went with scallops, wood fired cabbage, steak and chocolate cake. We shared, all was divine :-) Service was on point, friendly and they never rushed us. We also bought a few items from the cute gift shop. The Morlet 2014 Cabernet I brought was incredible and a perfect match. Use lastbottle.com. I got this $300 bottle for under $100, well worth it to pair with this extraordinary meal. The personal bonfire and hot tub elevated the whole experience. The area was quiet and felt intimate. The complementary breakfast was cozy and comforting. We got the omakase as well with the alcohol pairing. A lot of the ingredients were sourced from the area which made it feel more unique. Some of the dishes were slightly on the fishy side, but other than that it was very yummy. I don't think I would recommend making reservations at the omakase unless you're staying at the resort since they do take stand alones. We were also greeting by a very large spider on the bathroom towels in the middle of the night but other than that we had a great time.

When we checked in and got to our room, the property felt completely empty. We were the only guests we could see, which made the whole place feel eerie and uncomfortable. We walked around the entire property and saw no one. There were only three cars in the parking lot, including ours and the front desk employee's car, yet we were told they were "fully booked" when we asked about moving to a larger room. The room itself was not great. The bed is extremely hard and squeaks with every movement. On top of that, the AC does not work. We told the front desk before leaving for dinner about the AC and were told someone would come fix it. When we returned, the room was even hotter than before & it felt like walking into a sauna. The windows don't open, so the only way to get air in is by opening the doors, which obviously lets bugs in. The "free wine tasting" was also frustrating. At check-in, we were told that we would get complimentary tastings at the tasting room. When we went to the tasting room, we were told they were "too busy" for tastings and that we would need to buy glasses of wine instead. We didn't want to make a scene, so we ended up purchasing a bottle and a glass, which came out to $85 & we never received the tastings we were told were included with our stay. Overall, this has been a terrible experience. Between the uncomfortable room, broken AC, lack of guests/staff on the property, and being denied the complimentary tasting we were promised, I would not recommend staying here. Do not let the 4.6 rating fool you.

Let me shape your note so it flows beautifully but still feels personal and honest: Arriving at The Pinnacle Inn late in the evening was a bit of an adventure for us. We reached the gate around 8pm in complete darkness, with no network service and no easy way to get in. The winding dirt road lined with grapevines felt a little intimidating in the dark, and I have to admit, we were feeling a bit unsure at first. But once we sorted out the gate and settled in, everything changed. The next morning, we headed out for a hike in the forest, and with the sunrise lighting up the hills, we finally saw just how incredibly beautiful this location truly is. What felt a little scary the night before transformed into rolling countryside, peaceful vineyards, and breathtaking views. When we returned from our hike, I began to fully appreciate and fall in love with the entire property. In the daylight, The Pinnacle Inn feels warm, welcoming, and truly like home.
