I took a uber there, to get away. And my 13 yr old dog. First, asked me my Make & License of my vehicle. I'm blind in one eye. Can't drive. Then asked, why I had 2 on reservation. Said my friend was coming .Then said no dogs on bed.Finally, I got key, my suitcase, my ice chest & dog. They put us way in back of Motel. Walked carrying all those things. Room,1/4 roll of toilet paper,2 rag towels, no shampoo, no conditioner, toilet was peeling, toilet flushed very loud , and kept running all night. Remote didn't work, no phone to call front desk. I am not here to sabotage, as it always makes me feel bad to leave a low review. My track record will indicate how rare it is to give low reviews. I am here for one reason, which is to ensure that someone else won't have the experience I had, or at least will be prepared. My fiance and I decided to stay at the motel six in king city, on our way to visit Pinnacles National Park and the beautiful Salinas Valley in California. It was to my great dismay that there was a very loud party going on downstairs. I'm all about fun, and I'm all about enjoying life. My problem is how obnoxiously loud this party was and how poorly it was handled. The bass on the speakers caused the building to shake, and the people downstairs were screaming at the top of their lungs. It was well past three in the morning when I finally called the office. Only the lord knows why we waited so long. After overlooking the noise for over three hours, I just couldn't sleep or wait any longer. The lady who picked up the phone said that she would look into it and that this level of noise was unacceptable. We did not mind that they were having fun, but we just simply wanted them to be mindful of the other guests staying nearby. They could have totally still had fun and just brought the noise level down a notch or two. 10 minutes passed us by, and the noise seemed to increase substantially! The lady was called again and this time she claimed that she could not leave the office or do anything to resolve the issue with noise, which would indicate dishonesty on her part due to the fact that she said that she would look into it and speak to the guests in the previous phone cash. She said I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do tonight. She did not allow us to stay in another room. She did not walk over and ask the people to lower the volume just slightly as she mentioned she would before. She claimed she could not leave the office due to safety reasons which seems like an excuse and a cop out as I know that this has been done numerous times by hotel workers on the past. There was no simple commodities that a hotel most usually offers aside for a tiny bar of soap. One measly bar of soap that makes your skin super dry after its first use. This is a bare minimal kind of place to stay. Which is definitely a reflection of the price. It is just a shame that this motel will literally offer the bare minimum in any case it can. On a more positive note I would like to give a shout out to the cleaning lady. I met her the morning after, and she was so sweet and positive. Had it not been for her kindness this motel would be getting zero stars. I always like to leave my motel rooms in pristine condition, just like how I like to leave my classrooms clean as a whistle every day so the custodians at my school don't have to work too hard. My grandmother always taught me to leave every place in it and just as good as a condition if not better than as it had been when I arrived. That was one of life's greatest lessons for me. That's why I always clean my table at the restaurant before leaving the establishment, through stacking dishes and tossing away excess garbage. Even a quick wipe down of the table with a napkin as a courtesy for the food staff. I was so ticked off with the motel in the lack of respect and service from the staff that I wanted to leave it trashed. However, the kindness from the cleaning lady inspired me to do the right thing, and I commend her for her positivity and warmth. It just goes to show that there's positives in anything, even if you are lacking substantial sleep on your trip to Central California that you've been looking forward to for quite some time. Nonetheless, I rose above, and we became the victors. Grammys lesson continues to seep through me to this day. The lack of service motel did not get the best of us. We have the last word with this review. Don't book with them, as the extra $20 at another hotel is worth every penny of the spend. read more

Jan 29, 2024 rented a room at Motel 6 for the first time in King City, CA. At 7:33pm, sent photo's to a family member showing bugs, fly poop above the bed, dirty bathroom, dirty air filters, torn sheets. Jan 30, spoke with location at 9:50am (Clarice who was GREAT) and emailed photo's, she said cleaning staff was coming in at 10am, they'll get that room taken care of. Had to wait for Mgr. to call. At 330pm, called Bobby, he said nothing wrong with the room (which they had probably already cleaned so he wouldn't see it!), but he can't explain how I would have pictures of the room within less than an hour after checkin. I considered sleeping in my truck it was so disgusting while I stare at the ceiling with an alarm covered in fly crap. I slept with my clothes on and the pillow inside of a tshirt because it was so bad! No shower, it was NASTY. Phone and Wi-Fi not working, no towels. I had to go again to the office to get some. We were looking for a place to stay over memorial day weekend. I rather stupidly didn't book anything in advance, and found all the coastal cities were $300 a night, so we decided to stay in King City where we found a more reasonable rate. The Ritz it is not, but it was a place to keep our things and had a refrigerator. Also we were able to check in early, so that's a plus. By King City standards this was okay, my biggest problem was that there was a lot of noise from folks in neighboring rooms until the small hours. Who takes their kids out at 11:30pm?! This is clearly a transient hotel. There were a lot of unsavory looking characters roaming around. Had I not been driving for 8 hours I would've tried to find another place. I wished I had. I stayed at this motel for just one night in the month of May with my bf. Upon entering into the front office to check in, it smelled like an Indian restaurant. As much as I love Indian food, the scent was a little overwhelming for such a confined space. The 3 young guys who checked us in were very nice and professional. We were quickly given a room on the second floor. On the way to our room, we noticed there were a whole bunch of old school televisions just piled up under the stairway leading up to the second floor. It looked like they were in the process of remodeling the rooms or had already done so and haven't gotten rid of the old equipment yet. Our room did not smell like an Indian restaurant (Whoo hooo!) It had a TV, microwave, mini fridge, and free wi-fi. We didn't use the TV, microwave or wi-fi so I can't confirm whether they were in working condition or not. The fridge was clean and was working. The sheets on the bed were clean, but the pillows were a little flat. The towels in the bathroom looked clean as well. The bathroom looked pretty clean except for the fact that it had a weird funky smell similar to burnt hair when you'd take a shower and close the bathroom door. It just seemed like there wasn't enough ventilation in there. There weren't too many wall sockets available for us to recharge our cell phones. When there were wall sockets, they were in very unusual and inconvenient places. There were none near the bedside table where you'd expect to find one. There was one near the door and that one was actually not working. There was also another one next to the fridge. Overall, this motel met our basic needs. We weren't expecting much except for a clean bed to sleep in for the night. I stayed two separate nights. On the first night, my room smelled liked I was in an Indian restaurant. The lobby and most common are areas also smelled the same. I like Indian food, so it was not really that unpleasant, it just made me hungry. The non-working light switch was not good. I found LONG hairs in the shower, not just a little curly that got over looked. The second night, in a different room, again there were long black hairs in the shower. There were some of those spicy peanut looking things on the floor. On both nights, the towels felt slightly damp. I am hoping that there is a problem with the dryer, and not simply used re-folded towels. On the first night of check in two people complained about overflows in the bathrooms, and requested extra towels while I waited to check in. On the second night, there was a clock, a fridge and microwave in the room. (Am I hallucinating? Isn't this Motel 6?) This is absolutely the worst Motel 6 I have ever stayed at. It is must nicer than the one near the "stroll" in Fresno off Highway 99. I have the feeling that the maid needs to be fired. PROMPTLY. The only reason I returned the second night is, the price. A PLUS for this Motel-6 is the free wifi. The clerk told me that is free because they got too many complaints about it, when they used to charge for it. read more
