My 8 year old daughter and I stayed here over an extended Labor Day weekend and we had a fabulous time here! We stayed in unit 19 and it was such an adorable room! I loved that we were very close to Duval but it was very quiet and peaceful here. Everyone who works there is so kind and helpful too. The front desk women were great! We also had friends staying there in another room and they enjoyed their stay as well. My daughter couldn't get over the roosters everywhere...such a blast! I would highly suggest this cute and cozy spot. Also loved the breakfast for something to snack on! read more

This place is absolutely beautiful! The rooms are bigger that you'd picture. The pool is small but it feels comfortable and private. The location is within walking distance to everything. It's not noisy, there are roosters everywhere in the keys and they are noisy but you can't help but just like it. The lady in the front desk was very informative, attentive and friendly. We fell in love with this place and the keys. We were traveling with 3 kids and two adults. We will be back! read more

I LOVED staying in this Bed and Breakfast!!! All the other guests were so nice and we ended up relaxing and talking by the pool in the mornings. Breakfast wasn't super great, but the location was perfect. We walked everywhere and didn't use the car once on our trip. The staff was extremely helpful and offered to book any activities we were interested in. I will definitely be staying here again. read more

So, my husband has been feverishly reviewing for some time now as an Elite Yelper and he has encouraged me to participate as well. He has graciously refrained from reviewing this place so as to give me an opportunity to post my first review. We have been going down to Key West for many years now and have mainly stayed at Poinciana Place on Whitmarsh Lane. In a momentary fit of insanity, we decided to take our dogs this time (a three day drive from Austin with a car-sick prone dog... yeah, I know, "What were you thinking?") Anyway, Poinciana Place does not accept pets, but they did recommend Courtney's Place right across the street. Courtney's Place offers rooms in their guesthouse, as well as standalone cottages. We opted for Cottage #17 because it had a king-sized bed. Pricing was pretty typical for a week in Key West - a little over $1800 including taxes. Our cottage was certainly serviceable, with a small kitchen and a nice front porch to watch the native loonies and the drunken tourists go by. The aforementioned king-sized bed was amazingly comfortable... the only problem is, the bottom sheet doesn't fit. They've got a regular king-sized sheet on what amounts to a California king mattress. After three mornings awakening to nothing between my body and the mattress, it was time for a solution. I recommend safety pins, which worked for us once we figured out where to put them. Courtney's Place offers a free breakfast at the guesthouse every morning from 8 to 11, which is great when you want to sleep in. Offerings include hard-boiled eggs, various breads and pastries, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and fruit. The coffee is good but the O.J. tastes like Tang. If you don't like cats, don't eat at the guesthouse. They feed the feral cats and there are plenty slinking around. The high points of Courtney's Place include location (1 blocks off Duval in a fairly quiet area), the free breakfast and the fact that they're pet-friendly. Some things they need to work on include the sheets on the bed, the equipment in the kitchen (barely enough to pull a meal together if you like to cook), and the lack of a wireless connection. If you do decide to take your dog with you to Key West, be aware that there are very few places for them to do their "duty". Key West is dense, and most of the houses have fences around the small yards. If you stay at Courtney's Place, here's a tip: take a walk around the block to the small church on Petronia. They've got a small patch of grass and if you pick up after your dog, I don't think God will mind. read more

My husband and I went to key west with a couple of good friends. We stayed fri thru sun at Courtney's place. We stayed in cottage #4. The place was huge for two couples! Biggest patio they offered ground floor, cottage can sleep up to ten. There is a loft with 2 twin beds and 2 doubles. Downstairs was a living room, kitchen, bath and two bedrooms. Front patio over looks the street. Back patio is private and over looks the lagoon pool and large! Price was very good! Staff was excellent ! Location close enough to Duvall but far enough away to not be bothered with tourists! We've already discussed another trip for Jan 2012!! I walked around and looked at t the other options they have for rooms... If traveling and sharing cost with a group #4 is the best one they have! Local male cat named Gloria lives across the street and makes himself comfortable with cottage #4. Came right in and visited frequently! We are all animal lovers and didn't mind! Only in Key West will you find a male cat named Gloria!! ;) read more

The downside was that we had the largest cottage that fit 8 people and there's only 1 bathroom. That was a little difficult, especially since the toilet was not working properly the entire time we were there. Other than that, the staff were sweet and polite. read more

Great location , very nice grounds . We had a big group with us and they were very accommodating. Our room.. we had a small private cottage right on the left when you walk in . It was nice but really needs some attention to detail . The couch in the living room is shot.. try sitting on it for over 10 min. The bathroom.. at least spend 5 bucks and put in a shower caddy.. no where to put shampoo etc. replace sink put in one with a counter, had to put bathroom incidentals on kitchen counter. The shower floor the drain is in a hole..almost fell, I would highly suggest you fix that before you are sued by someone falling .the mirror in the bathroom if you are over 5 ft tall , all you will see is you belly button. Otherwise would stay here again, nice place , but this particular room was quite disappointing Hopefully the owner sees and corrects, as it really is a nice place. read more

Originally, there were 6 of us ladies (and then there were 4) heading to Key West to enjoy a relaxing girl's weekend. With only a 2-night-stay planned, it proved to be quite difficult to find a place where we could all sleep (ideally in our own bed). I called nearly every apartment/vacation rental company and almost all had a 3 night mininum. Then I looked into hotels, but the costs racked up a $1000 bill rather quickly. So finally, I came across Courtney's Place. The lady explained that we could get 2 separate rooms one night, where only 2 of us would have to share a bed, and then on the 2nd night, we'd all get to move into the largest apartment the quaint B&B had to offer. And all of this meant no more than $140 total/person. So we jumped at the chance. The place itself is completely adorable. Located just north of Duval (by around 2-3 blocks), we were perfectly situated to walk to nearly everything. At Courtney's, we were able to rent $15 bikes and found it the best way to wheel around the area. We stayed in Rooms 4, 10, and 5 and each was was just about perfect. Along with great and perfect accommodations, there's a small pool for soaking, and a modest breakfast smattering in the morning, and the best part: Courtney's is dog friendly! I would definitely stay here again, especially if I'm looking for an affordable way to travel with a small group. read more

The staff was wonderfully friendly and was very accommodating to pets. Beware if your animal does not get along with others because there are cats that roam and many people have their dogs with them. The pool is located in the center of the property and the office/breakfast area is charming. Beware if you will be arriving late, make sure you let the staff know so that they may accommodate you as this is a local owned/runned establishment and they are on island time. The rooms were clean and many had their own private porch. Coffee, bean grinder, wine opener and glasses and fridge in room, but there is also coffee available first thing in the morning. I can't wait to stay again! Room Tip: Each room is unique and has a different layout, I recommend contacting the hotel after you book to ensure your accommodations meet your individual needs. read more

Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend and it was wonderful! We stayed in one of the cottages and it was perfect. Small, but had everything we needed and then some. Everything was clean and well kept. The location is the best!! Can walk everywhere, they have bikes to rent on site. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was basic continental buffet, but that is what we expected and it was fine for us. For the price, this place is 100% worth it. The location alone is worth the cost and the accommodations were above and beyond my expectations. We will be back! read more

This was a home away from home for us! Although we only stayed for one night - it was definitely the best priced place around! Very relaxing and friendly staff. Far away enough from the hustle of Duval Street noise - yet it was close enough to walk. Very safe with a locked gate. I would recommend this to everyone! My husband and I were looking for a very dog friendly place to stay in Key West. I called Courtney's Place and was greeted by a friendly greeter who was very helpful in finding an accommodation for us. This is a B&B that offers cottages as well as rooms in the main courtyard/house. We stayed in cottage #17 that was located in a quiet area with its own parking space ( very important because parking in Key West is a challenge). I have listed both some pros and cons below: PROS: super dog friendly, conveniently located, clean, our cottage was spacious , bed comfortable , nicely appointed. The courtyard is nice enough ..very small pool... but understandable given the downtown location. Bikes available. Over all a very cute well maintained property. CONS : The breakfast was a huge disappointment. I have had better breakfasts at the Hampton Inn. Any B&B should have a great breakfast. After all that is why you call it a B&B. I heard more than one grumble from the guests regarding the breakfast. The parking space that came with Cottage # 17 was so small we were biting our nails getting in and out of it. They need to tell guests it is small. We would have left the SUV at home and brought our other car. The front porch chair is broken....but a quick fix should take care of it. read more

A great INN not quite a full B&B. At least not what am used to in Maine. Very cozy and a great location. Very pet friendly. The price for both of our dogs was $10 total and usually it's $25 a night per dog. We stayed in c9 and it was very private with our own patio. Also a nice size fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Also it had a great full size bathroom with a tub. The service was lacking but besides that, great price for a comfortable bed ( my wife was asleep in less than 2 minutes) and an amazing location! We are in the middle of a weeklong stay in the best place on earth , Key West , and we are staying at the best place in town , Courtney's place .... we are staying in room 15 . It's the smallest room they have but is all we need . Beautifully decorated room with everything you would need for your stay ... the best part is this place is literally within walking distance to everything in Old Town Key West were all the action is !! Roughly $ 1300 & change for a six night stay and definitely worth every penny !!! Excellent attentive staff made our stay even better !! Can't say enough about Courtney's !!! I just stayed here with my family leading into the Xmas holiday. It was a perfect spot for us (we stayed in unit #5 which had 1 bedroom w queen bed, 1 loft bedroom with 2 twin beds and a full kitchen)! Great location, quiet, breakfast was substantial. The staff at breakfast was attentive and friendly. Filtered water, coffee and tea are offered throughout the day. We loved not having to buy bottled water every day especially. We traveled with a small dog - the staff was not only accommodating but actually incredibly sweet about my pup. Tippi and the office staff was present and always ready to help. This place was perfect. The room was very clean and well organized. The entire staff was very friendly and gave great advice for places to eat or things to do. The location was perfect and were able to walk everywhere except for Fort Zachary beach. Parking can be a bit of a chore but it was manageable. Went there on our honeymoon on the recommendation of a friend. The staff was very nice. They booked a fishing trip for us which was excellent and a trip to the Dry Tortugas which is a must also. The only thing I did not know was we were about a block from the pool, had I know I probably would have researched more and taken a room closer to the pool. We stayed in C16. Room was nice and clean, had a nice porch to watch the locals go by in the morning. We figured out the breakfast thing a few days into it but then again most mornings were a little slow going. Price was good for the room. We were pretty much in the center of things being a block from Duval Street. We walked everywhere we needed to go and had a great time. Would stay there again! read more

We only stayed just one night and were originally enchanted by the coziness. Not long into our stay we realized we were on our own. No one t greet us only a note with pass key number which we really did not need since door was left opened most of the time. Then we were instructed like on a treasure hunt as to where our key was with a map of our room location. We had no contact with any staff unless lady behind desk in breakfast room, there was no greeting not even a smile of hospitality! We were delegated to room 8 which seemed cute until we noticed the buildup of dust on headboards ! Coffee dispenser was dirty ! Cats were not intrusive with us. We are use to 4 star hotels so maybe we are jaded but if there had been any friendliness or sense of welcome. We would treat guests with at the very least "welcome". read more

We chose Courtneys Place online, and hadn't heard anything about it. I'm only writing this to help out those who may be looking for an affordable place to stay in Key West (yes , an oxymoron). Upon first entering the pool/office area, I thought this place was modest but charming. The pool is tiny, but clean, and the office/dining area is kept up well. The good stopped here for us though. The staff , which changed throughout the 4 days we were there, was scattered, vaguely friendly, and usually unavailable. The cleaning staff people were very kind, although some walked around seeming very unhappy, making me wonder what kind of conditions they have to work with. Our room was the economy room (only one available), so I can only speak to this room. It was a step above a youth hostel. The sheets were stained, even though cleaned (also the detergent was extremely chemical and smelled awful). The floor was cracked and dirty and the bathroom, again, although cleaned, was cracking and not kept up at all. The room met our basic needs, but for what we were paying , we were very disappointed. You would honestly be better spending a bit more money and staying some place really nice (which there are plenty of places in KW that are much better than Courtneys Place). Breakfast was some frozen english muffins, waffles and bagels that you toast yourself, with cream cheese that made me sick. Do not expect an actual breakfast here. We heard several other people talking to staff about poor room conditions, leaky faucets, dirty bathrooms, etc. To top it off, we found a dying cockroach in our room (obviously poisoned), and when I told the staff at checkout they merely smiled and said "was it big or small?" no, 'We're so sorry, how was the rest of your stay'.... It was obvious that guest satisfaction was not a priority for this place, they simply take your money and provide the bare essentials. I would not recommend spending your money here with so many other places to choose from. I think this place would be fun for someone in their early 20's , but I highly recommend searching out a more suitable place for the money! read more

We had a reservation at Courtney's Place when our flight was cancelled in February. They were able to accommodate us at Courtney's Too when we were finally able to get to Key West. What a delightful experience. From the quality of the room to the convenience of the locations (Courtney's to Duval St., Courtney's Too to the Key West Express), we couldn't have been more satisfied.
