This is my 2nd time coming to Key West and I am just enamored with these incredibly unique hotels around the island. I was so excited to stay at the Key West Harbor Inn Puerto Rico room. The room was huge with a private entrance and patio, and nearby the pool. The location is phenomenal right near Duvall Street but without loud noise or chaos, it becomes a quiet retreat. Service was so friendly here and we loved the happy hour rum punch and seeing Mango in the morning! The pool was also fantastic. I would be more than thrilled to stay here again!!!! One note - because of the low ceilings, be careful if you're super tall in the Puerto Rico room!!! read more

Quite place like most places in the key largo Florida cozy oldie but goodie. When it comes to an Inn or a B&B. This place only accepts adults. There website specifies ADULTS ONLY. We were relieved to see this. Sorry but at times you don't want to hear racket during your sleep. Rooms are cute and cozy. We stayed in the St. Martin room private entrance independent to other rooms queen size bed, full bathroom, walk in shower. No microwave, yes coffee maker and small refrigerator. Although you have a coffee maker in the room. You have completely coffee every morning till 10am by the pool side. Happy hour is also complementary from 5:30 - 7:00 pm by the pool side. They have other rooms larger and smaller we viewed one room with a desk and king size bed. A little more roomier than our room was but be prepared the pricier it becomes. We highly recommended the location and this place everything in walking distance parking shaded in the front of there place. We will visit again. Enjoy!! You all! Our favorite place to stay in Key West. Great location. Not fancy or pretentious. Go elsewhere if you want pristine setting. Read the fun history of the place & you'll understand the place more. We've stayed in several different rooms & liked them all. Each may have a quirk, like slanted low ceilings in Puerto Rico, but hey, it's in the attic with a sun deck & great harbor view. I don't think there is a bad room at all. Happy hour at the pool & light items for breakfast are provided. Private jungle setting with places to sit outside. Orchids in the trees. I have asthma and as soon as walked into the main gate I felt my asthma acting up. Tracy was the woman in the front desk and we asked if we can be put in somewhere far from the restaurant and she said it's all the same and just brushed off my comment. We walked in to the room and this place is OLD. The door does not seal up right, all the walls are like paper thin and can hear every steps of people upstairs. We booked for two nights but asked to cancel for the one night because of Asthma the problem and since we checked in already. Tracy said let me talk to the owner. Then she just emailed him and waited. She had no response and would not call him. I asked if she could get into contact with them quicker she said No, just waiting via email is only way. Than She said "why didn't you check and see, where this place is? So you don't know anything about this area?" Here is my response Tracy, most travelers don't know everything about the area. the owner got back to us and said no refunds after 14days even for medical reasons. even though we booked it two days before we got here. read more

The location is PERFECTION, clean, rooms are large! A chilled pool which in July you appreciate! Full breakfast every morning until 10:30. Stayed here 2 nights at end of February and very happy with our choice. In fact, on the fence about whether or not to give 4 or 5 stars. The room and bathroom were clean, the breakfasts were more than sufficient and included yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals/granola, variety of breads for toast with peanut butter and jelly, and juices. The happy hours happened to fit into our daily activity schedules nicely, 4:30-5:30, right before we had to arrive at the marina for our 5:15 sunset cruise. The happy hour chips were stale one night, but in that humid climate that could happen within hours of opening the bag. Leonardo took our call and made our reservation, and Tracy was our host when we arrived. We were an hour or two early and the room wasn't ready yet, so we put our belongings under the stairs until we could get in. It worked out fine. Both hosts were very polite and friendly. A recent review mentioned the sugar ants. Yes, we noticed those, too. They didn't bother me. Some people feel that more aggressive spraying could take care of all bugs, even in the tropics. I don't know. I'm a bit more tolerant of a few little ants in this climate. If there were roaches or other big creepy crawly things traipsing through the room that would be a different story, but the only other visitors we had were tiny geckos outside our door and they didn't bother us either. There was a musty smell in the room, which was noticeable at first but again, not a big deal to me. They had a tiny dehumidifier running at all times. The wall air conditioner cooled down the room to sleep at night. We stayed in the Curaçao room, which is modest but comfortable and includes a wet bar and dorm sized refrigerator. There is a tiny hair dryer in the bathroom. We didn't notice a safe in the room. There are 2 windows near the ceiling, on opposite walls. This is great to let light in during the day, but at night when the outside light is on it does illuminate the room a bit. Caution to those who need a dark room to sleep. The room rate isn't cheap but it's reasonable for the location, which is epic. We didn't have time to do a lot of research before the trip but we were lucky to have chosen this spot. If you like being near the action (including the marina, where the sunset cruises start) but away from the noise of Duval Street, then choose a place that's on the south end of the island (this is a must -- the north side is just too far from everything and not convenient) and a couple blocks off Duval. We almost booked a place on the north end and are glad we ended up here in spite of our ignorance. Parking -- officially, there isn't any for this B&B. We rented a car only because we were headed elsewhere at the end of our trip but if you're only staying in Key West do not rent a car. You're better off with a golf cart or better yet, mopeds or bicycles. But if you do have a car then know that free parking is desperately hard to find until after 5-6:00 pm, when people all leave the marina area. You may find metered parking nearby to bridge yourself to the evening when you can move the car but that will cost $3 per hour -- for us, we ended up forking out nearly $20 until we could get a free spot. It adds up quickly. Once you do find free parking, you won't move your car until you leave town because you will walk everywhere. It's a very pleasant, pedestrian friendly island with narrow streets that are no fun to drive in a car. read more

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Harbor Inn. It was our first time in Key West and I was surprised at how close everything is at this location!! Our snorkeling trip was right around the corner at the docks and a ton of great restaurants are nearby. The Inn itself is STUNNING! It is exactly what I was looking for, history and classic Key West style. The Inn is located right on Elizabeth with a gate access. As soon as you enter, you're in a tropical paradise with so many beautiful trees and a private pool! The room we stayed in was very clean and updated, and everyday they have free happy hour. I would absolutely stay here again and I cant compliment the staff enough. They go the extra mile to make you feel safe during COVID. 10/10 experience! read more

We came to Key West for our honeymoon. We wanted something low-key and off the beaten path but also close enough to the action. Key West Harbor Inn definitely has that down. It's in a great location to bike around to the busy stuff, or to any park or square, and you can walk to the nearby marina. We looked into staying somewhere oceanfront and would love to do that some time but at this point in our lives it is an unattainable price range. We went with the Inn and the Jamaica Room based on the rave reviews and the pleasantness of the staff on the phone while booking. Anyways - upon check-in, our room wasn't ready and we went through a little bit of a shuffle deciding where to leave our bags while we walked around to wait. The staff was very friendly but almost a bit too nonchalant. They were decorating for FantasyFest/Halloween so it seemed like their attention was always elsewhere. It would have been nice to take our phone number to let us know when the room was ready but they did not ask. The phone thing will come up again later. When it was ready they had champagne chilling (so nice) in the room. Onto the room. Pros: That shower. OMG that shower is divine. The big comfy bed. Private entrance. Cons: Window faces street so a few mornings I was awoken by loud trash trucks or people doing yardwork. The AC unit made a loud bang noise for an unknown reason during the night. I kept it on FAN so it would make white noise but ended up being more noisy. There were tiny mites (the Inn told us they were sugar ants) on the wood in the room. They were all over the desk, and sometimes on the bed frame. I told the Inn about them because I am very sensitive to bug bites, etc. and they called to tell me they were sugar ants. They said staff went into the room to check and said that we left a donut in a box on the counter and that they were all over it, and that's what was causing the ants. But there were these things all over the desk and sometimes on the bed frame before we even had donuts. And I know they weren't all over the box because we came back and there was no evidence of any bugs ever on the counter. In fact, we never saw any at all in that area. So I kind of felt like they thought we were stupid in their disregard of the issue. Another strange thing - on the first night we went out to dinner. We came back around 8pm for a quick freshen up before drinks and there was a man in our bathroom. He was fixing our toilet we didn't know was broken. I still don't know what happened exactly, when we asked him what was going on he said something about a flood, or overflow, but nothing in our bathroom seemed to be wet so it must have happened in the bathroom below (there is one room below Jamaica in the cottage house). It would have been nice to receive a call about this issue... nonetheless he fixed whatever the problem was and that was that. Some mornings when we were on our porch walking in or out, we would get whiffs of septic smells so it made us think something was going on in the room below. The happy hour was a nice touch each day with the free drinks. The pool being 24 hours was also great and we took advantage of that once. The free breakfast is a convenient addition and we grabbed something light to eat on our last morning. Overall - I don't think Key West Harbor Inn is a bad choice by any means. I didn't leave there mad. We had an amazing time in Key West and made memories that will last a lifetime. The staff truly tries to make your stay the best, the grounds are such a nice secluded oasis, the location is great, and the amenities are awesome. But we did not leave there thinking we must stay there again. I realize I also may be a bit bias in thinking that the place we stay for our honeymoon would be "paradise" but I don't think it's ridiculous to not want random men in your room without warning and not want bugs in and around your bed. \_(ツ)_/ read more

OK, so my husband and I argue over the number of stars, so we'll settle for 4.5 stars. I want to rate it 5 stars, but my husband points out that there were some cosmetic improvements that could be made to the grounds. That being said, we loved this place. We had never been to Key West, and weren't sure what to expect, but after a week of work in Miami, this was the perfect place to relax. We liked that it was not on Duval street, but a few blocks off. We were close enough to the madness to get there in just a few minutes, but it was also pleasantly quiet at night. I would not suggest staying here if you need to be right in the mix, because I suppose that walk back can be daunting to drunks--we passed a handful of them on the sidewalk, seemingly confused on where they were going. I don't think they were staying at the Harbor Inn, but even if they were the passcode on the front gate would have completely stumped them anyway. We got in late the first night, and it was no problem, they made arrangements to get us into the room. The room was clean and cool (the AC was actually very loud), although quite small. We had a normal room on the 2nd floor, but there were other types of rooms and even suites that were larger. The Inn has a private pool by which they serve both breakfast and happy hour. The breakfasts were typical continental, with pastries, fruit, hard-boiled eggs, maybe yogurt, juice, milk, coffee, etc. It was a perfect start to the day, especially when it was so warm--who wants to be all logy from a heavy meal while snorkeling? They also have a great little "happy hour" sometime in the afternoon, maybe 4pm? They have a mixed drink of the day (daiquiri, margarita, etc.) and snacks! It seems everyone at the Inn shows up for this, and it is nice to mingle with all the guests. Something we realized during the first happy hour was that the average age of the guests is older than what we expected. This is fine by me--no drunken idiots puking in the pool or making noise all night. However, I would not recommend staying here if you are looking for a Girls Gone Wild situation. I think the wildest it would get would be if someone was swimming topless at night, which apparently is acceptable to the staff. Hey, it's Key West. There is no official Harbor Inn parking lot, and the street parking is first-come, first-served. If you find a parking space near the Inn, don't drive anywhere! My husband and I just returned from visiting Key West. We stayed at the Key West Harbor Inn. It is a beautiful property and central to everything. We were able to walk wherever we wanted to go. The Harbor Inn is in the middle of everything you would want to do. Yet it is private and secluded. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. Time at the pool was very relaxing. Tracy is an exceptional manager and with the addition of David to the staff anything you need is covered. They are very informative, personable and you can tell they love their jobs. The staff members are amazing, they are friendly, they are very hardworking to make sure the rooms and the property are spotless and very welcoming. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to be a short walk to everything at Key West yet be able to come back and relax in a private setting. We met visitors who have visited several times and stayed at this property each time. It is their favorite and it has come to be a place we would come back to. This place is one of the best kept secrets in KW if you haven't had the pleasure of staying there!!! I just spent five days at this wonderful private cozy establishment with great friends!!! Leonardo the owner has a great thing going, Tracy and the rest of the staff were wonderful , polite, and very helpful. The accommodations were perfect, clean and very tidy ... beautiful landscaping, really nice individual rooms.( basically small individual suites), lite and fresh breakfasts by the pool served daily, evening Happy Hours by the pool every after noon serving a variety of drinks and snacks. Love, love, love this place. Stayed in the Jamaica room for New Years. It was very nicely equipped and clean. And it's very private with its own entrance upstairs in the Carriage House. As others have pointed out the quality of the breakfast and happy hour is quite good and the guests are all very friendly. It's definitely a place with a very high percentage of return visitors. I think that speaks directly to the great experience people have here. The entire staff is polite and professional with a Tracy leading the way. When we checked in she even remembered our entire conversation we had when I made the reservation. She's awesome and so is this place. We had a great stay at Key West Harbor Inn. We stayed in the Tobago room above the pool area and had a nice little view of the harbor and a comfy king bed! Loved the breakfast but missed happy hour all 3 days because we were out and about (I hear it's pretty fun though!). The grounds are really nice, all the staff were friendly and the location is perfect! Our room was small, but we were really only there to sleep so it was perfect. The bathroom was small but pretty cool and the shower was very nice. I would stay here again for sure!! read more

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights for our 15th anniversary. The place is beautiful! We stayed in the Antigua room in the pool house which was perfect for us. The pool area is gorgeous and is a great place for breakfast and the daily happy hour. Leonardo and the staff were amazing! Parking can be tricky but we lucked up and got a space right in front of the Inn and did not move it the whole time we were there. You can walk or bike anywhere. It's 2 blocks from Duval and all the action but still quiet and relaxing. You get the best of both worlds! We enjoyed getting to know other couples during happy hour and found that most are return guests. We will follow suit and definitely stay again next time we are in Key West! read more
