I would give this place a higher rating but unfortunately I had an okay experience. My room was right next to the check in office which was quite noisy during the morning time. Workers were out mowing the lawn at 8 am right next to our hotel window and within the next hour someone upstairs was moving furniture place is okay, small hotel room but has a bed, a bathroom and some bottled waters. read more

Nice 3 night stay. Rooms are well appointed without being overly decorated. Great location, not quite two blocks from Duval Street. Convenient parking for cars. Friendly staff. Good water pressure and warm water for showers. Front desk staff offered recommendations on restaurants and has coupons to provide to guests. Minor cons were: other guests were loud coming in at night and early during breakfast. Breakfast selection could be better. And one of the rooms we stayed in had AC that couldn't keep up with the heat. Would still recommend despite the minor cons we experienced. read more

Just got home from a week long stay here for the Mile-0-Fest. We've ALREADY put in our request to stay again at next year's festival. We were welcomed by Jenn, who went out of her way every day to make sure we had everything we needed and to answer any questions and make recommendations. When Mary came on duty she was just as outgoing and helpful. Both these ladies made our stay special. The croissants were amazing, ham and cheese, chocolate, raspberry and almond every morning. As well as fruit cups, yogurt, orange juice and coffee. I think bagels and English muffins as well. Our room, Banana Winds, was huge. Also had a double shower. Comfortable king size four poster bed. The location was perfect, about ten minutes from the Amp, Smokin Tuna, and Duvall Street. We walked everywhere with no problem. (Cab to and from airport was a flat $18 for two). For those people who complained about being "shushed" in the mornings, I'm gonna infer that you think you're more important than anyone else, so even though you're standing outside three bedrooms, it's ok to talk loudly instead of getting your breakfast and heading back to your room. Luckily, the Mile-0-Fest people are awesome fans, and the hotel was only us. No problems with noise because we ALL partied late and slept in. Great hotel! FANTASTIC staff, extremely clean, and great location. We couldn't have asked for more. read more

I rarely write reviews and I need to state this is not a review regarding the Inn itself. Instead it is regarding management. I booked a room through hotels.com, I do this 30-40 times a year and this is the first time I have had an issue of an Inn/hotel being closed. I arrived at the outer gate around 7:45pm (the Inn seems to be in a neighborhood) it was locked and nobody was there. It said a remote was needed. I called the Inn twice and nobody answered. I checked online and it said the office closes at 4:30pm and I actually booked the hotel at exactly 4:30pm (odd coincidence). So I called hotels.com and they also tried multiple times....no answer. After trying again and waiting around an hour, I had to book another hotel through hotels.com. The agent said the hotel would probably refund since they were closed when I arrived. I had a bad feeling and actually drove to the Inn the next day and was able to speak with the manager. She said she would not refund because they left me a key. She said she emailed instructions for checking in after hours. Which is a complete lie. I asked her why they didn't call since it was booked as they were closing, she again said a email was sent. Somebody there dropped the ball and didn't Send the email because I never received on (I checked the junk folder also), I also called hotels.com and they said they didn't receive an email either. So basically, according to the manager, they are keeping over $175 from me for (supposedly) placing a key in an envelope, they couldn't be bothered to call and let me know. It's hard to trust a place that is lacking the integrity to admit when they forgot to send an email or place a simple call since they knew that no one was going to be there when a customer was arriving after hours. It's a tough time for everyone and to pocket someone's money is just unethical when you are the reason they couldn't check in. read more

If you're looking for a cheaper place to stay and don't care about quality, this is your place. The carpets in the rooms were heavily stained and the way the shower was designed, the water leaked all over the bathroom floor. The room doesn't offer a ton of space to get unpacked and organized. The A/C was going in and out and the pool was filthy. This reminded us of a hostel where a house was turned into private bedrooms which lack some serious privacy. Our room was right next to the back door and small parking lot so we heard everything. read more

We stayed at The Weatherstation Inn this weekend and wow, was it awesome! We had the pleasure to deal with Jen Hensley, property mgr there. She was an absolute gem! She know's everything about KW and all the hidden gems too. We are very familar with KW and Jen shared even more with us. We stayed upstairs in Beach Grass. What a spacious room! The King bed, plenty of dressers for your clothes, a large porch to smoke cigars from and overlooing the pool. The bathroom was good too, plenty of room in the shower. A lot of KW bnbs dont have any room to breathe but this was the exception. We had our own parking space which is unheard of! Its so quiet in the Truman Annex peaceful and beautiful. Its not cheap by any means but you get what you pay for. Book a stay w Jen she'll treat you like family. read more

Shhhh - keep this place a secret and don't tell your friends about it! We've always stayed in Old Town and were referred here when the place we stayed was sold. What a hidden gem! The location is perfect to get to Duval if that's your jam or a quick walk to Ft Zachary for a beach day but the Truman Annex area stays quiet. The breakfast spread has a lot of variety and more than any other place we've stayed. The pool is small - but so is the Weatherstation - so the two of us had it all to ourselves every time we used it. But you also have access to the pool at the Opal if you want something bigger. They have parking for a car - practically unheard of at most locations. What really puts this place over the top is the property manager Jenn- it's like having your own personal concierge- she gave us some tips on where to find some new musicians (Oren Polak at Irish Kevin's can't be beat) and a great restaurant at MP-10. Cute old historic place to stay, great location you can walk everywhere. The biggest downer about this place is the rudest woman in Key West , Mary at the front desk. There is absolutely no hospitality in her. I have stayed at small boutique hotels in every part of the country and have never met a representative as rude as her. My first thought was she was just having a bad day ,,, but I was there for five and it never got better!!! This was the only bad, really bad,,, experience on an otherwise wonderful Key West vacation . By the way The Weather Station Inn is part of the Margaritaville Resort and you can use all the resort amenities , I found this out my last day. Mary will tell you very frankly it's in your welcome letter , when I showed her my letter and ask her to show me where she just dismissed me , it's not there and she signed the letter!! read more

Had a really great stay here when my bf and I just popped in the weekend of goombay and didn't know. We got their info from the inn association and so glad we did. We stayed upstairs in the sunset room. Was gorgeous--the bed is amazing comfortable. Only thing was the shower pressure was just mediocre, but the bathroom is huge and plenty of fluffy towels. We ended up getting the whole floor to ourselves which was so nice. Really romantic. Got lots of good advice from the staff about places to go. They were nice enough to let us stay for a little extra time as we were hungover Sunday morning Breakfast croissants were delicious. But do feel the breakfast should have had more for the cost. Wish the water and fridges were upstairs too. Location is pretty hard to find on google maps just because the gating. Have to go through the main Truman annex. Loved the free mini water bottles. They really help out in a pinch. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Highly recommend this Inn while in Key West. For us, it was the best location from the busy nightlife and the key attractions. It was a couple blocks to the strip so close enough to walk but far enough not to hear the noise. The Inn is actually in a small and historic residential area. The rooms are a little small and made worse by adding a huge bed in the room. However, you don't come to Key West to hang out in the room. The staff was fantastic. Very engaging and helpful in any way asked. I'm glad we stumbled onto this place. read more

30 stairs straight up to a room with a broken, ancient tv. 30 stairs straight down and back up another flight of stairs for warm coffee, cold pre packaged croissant for breakfast, and ice. Not easy to maneuver after a night of wining and dining. Great location in gated area but still a long walk to Mallory Square & Duvall. I'd rather walk farther and have a better room with decent amenities. Hotel staff was polite but shouldn't be needed just to operate a tv. Our friends tv didn't work either and they had a ceiling dripping water that never got addressed. read more

Amazing 7 room bed and breakfast located in the Truman Annex. 2 streets from Duval and gorgeous panoramic sunset views, this is a gem of a place. In the morning, you will find chickens in the front yard and a picnic basket of breakfast goodies outside of your door. The staff is incredibly friendly and hospitable. They checked in with us and always had great suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area. The cost here is significantly cheaper than the big name hotels in Key West so we were so pleased to secure a room here. Another nice perk is that Truman Annex is a guarded area with a huge gate around the entire community. This helps to prevent some of the Duval Street spillover in the evening. It also ensures a quiet sleep and privacy in the evening. We stayed in the Sunset room and it was adequately laid out and the bathroom shower was huge! We can't wait to come back to this bed and breakfast when we come back to Key West. read more

I would not recommend this facility to anyone coming for a relaxing convenient location. Beginning with GPS being unable to direct us due to gate closures that were not made known to us. Be aware to get to rooms on second floor there 30 steps. Male staff rude, uninformed, and lazy. Would not move out of his chair by desk to show us where things were located. Female staff very nice but for islander extremely uninformed with directions to places. read more

My friend and I stayed at the Weatherstation in July. We were looking for a convenient place to stay that was near the Hyatt. I had family memebers staying there for the week and we were just flying in for a quick weekend trip and the Hyatt was out of our price range. We could have not stayed at a better place. I was 2 blocks from the Hyatt and minutes from Duval Street. We stayed in the garden room, with two twin beds. It was perfect for 2 girlfriends traveling together. Barbara at the front desk is very nice and welcoming. There is an unlimited supply of water in the main room, which was great on the very hot days. We enjoyed breakfast every morning by the pool. So relaxing and peaceful. The fresh squeezed orange juice and pastries were perfect to start our day. The B&D was full, but I think we only ever saw 2 other people while we were there. Additionally, it is in a gated community and the gates are locked after 6pm. This made us feel extremely safe and we rarely saw other people in the direct neighborhood. I would return there in a heartbeat for our next visit to Key West. read more

On our first trip to Key West last month, we had to guess about where to stay when making reservations - We were scoping the place out for potential future visits. Based on our conversations with Barbara, the Weatherstation Inn's manager, we chose to stay there. What a great choice that was! Barbara, Paris, and the rest of the staff were wonderfully helpful and the property was exquisitely maintained. The room was exactly as Barbara had described, and was bigger than it seemed in the picture on the website. It was great being off the beaten path, but a mere two block walk or so (and a pretty walk at that) got us to Mallory Square and the head of Duval St. We got to peek into a couple of other rooms and they all looked spectacular, and we never heard any of the other guests stirring - They sure don't make them like they used to. We won't be telling our families about this place (because if they want to join us down there, they can stay somewhere else!), but we're happy to share with you what a great experience we had. read more

Love this place! Located in the quiet and beautiful Truman Annex, this B&B is close enough to Duvall Street to walk, yet far enough away to remain peaceful. When I checked in, the Innkeeper was extremely helpful, pulling out a map and marking the entrances to our community, offering to suggest restaurants and give directions, and showing me the room (which was beautiful). After running the Ragnar Relay, my roommate and I probably could have fallen asleep in a train station on a hard bench, but the bed here was like a pillowy cloud of bliss. The next morning, I opened the door to a picnic basket full of breakfast goodies. Fresh-squeezed OJ and coffee completed the meal. Even though check-out was at 11, the Innkeeper said we could keep our van parked there and come in to use the restroom before we got back on the road. The only reason the Weatherstation Inn doesn't get 5 stars is because of the steep price. The next time I'm in Key West, I hope to stay here again if I can find a good deal :-) read more

First of all, the people who worked at the Weatherstation Inn were lovely to us..accommodating and friendly. There was no one to meet us when we checked in, but they left a key and a note. The room we had, which was on the top floor, was small, but pretty, with a comfy bed. The setting of the Inn was very nice, in the Truman Annex, quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag. However....when I booked the room, the manager, who I do not think is still with them, told me that our room was on the second floor...no problem She asked if we could climb stairs...of course we could! I was shocked to see, when we arrived, that the only way to get to our room was a set of outside stairs, that we were approximately 30 or more steps. These were open steps, with no overhead cover..quite annoying to drag our luggage up and to maneuver in high heels. The last day we were there, it was raining, and those steps were a hazard and by the time we got our luggage down, we were soaking wet. The breakfast, which we were told was a complimentary continental breakfast, was served on the first floor of the main inn, which is not accessible from the top level except by going down the 30 steps to ground level, then up one floor to the main entrance...then down one floor to get to the outside,then up 30 steps to get back to the room...all carrying a tray of coffee and tea and pre-packaged honey buns. In my opinion, there absolutely should have been coffee/tea service on the upper floor...and a fridge with cold drinks and water. I think they used to deliver breakfast goodies to the rooms upstairs, but the manager said it was too hard for the staff to carry trays up and down the outside steps.The breakfast, which I was aware was continental, was the sort of breakfast you might find in the lobby of an Econo Lodge. For the price we were paying, I thought there would be fresh fruit instead of the plastic cups of Dole fruit cup, and freshly baked pastries. There were a few decent looking muffins from a local bakery, but you could tell they were not fresh, but frozen. They were ice cold and hard. We had thought when we booked the room that the continental breakfast would have been enough to get us going for the day, but instead it was just annoying and we headed out to Blue Heaven each day. All this being said, the people were nice and the room was fine. Maybe if we had had a room in the main inn, I would have written a different review. Some changes would make this a great place. read more
