I visited Albany for a birthday party. I am from Atlanta so I needed to stay at a hotel. I have passed this hotel many times as it is in a cul de sac with other Marriott hotels near Zaxbys. I chose this one actually because of the decor. I know that sounds cheesy but first impressions for me are the outside and the lobby of the hotel. This hotel is ultra modern in my opinion. The lobby has a nice mix of sofas, chairs and tables and chairs. Along with cafe tables and stools. They have a Bistro and a little store in the lobby. Loved it. There is another side where there is a large screen tv, fireplace and more sofas. All modern. The desk attendant checked me in with no issues very quickly. I was given my key cards and went to my room. Upon entering the room there was a smell. I don't know why hotels have that smell but you already know what I mean. I immediately turned on the heat because it as chilly and the smell went away. I don't think its necessarily the room itself but the air conditioning system. Their was a desk, tv, a sofa chaise, coffee table, refrigerator in the room. This room had an actual closet with another comforter, iron, ironing board and luggage rack inside with mirrors. The bathroom was nice and big and everything seemed brand new including the flooring. The bed was heaven. I wish I could have stayed longer. I took one star off for the smell of the room but would definitely book a room here again as long as it is less than the $130 I paid for one night. It was a tad expensive for Albany GA. read more

I stayed here on July 11, and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. The room was filthy, which is completely unacceptable for a Marriott property. As a Bonvoy member, I expected at least basic courtesy, but they denied my late checkout without explanation. The customer service was rude and dismissive, and it was clear they had no interest in helping guests. Thankfully, I only had to stay one night. I will not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. One star. read more

An overnight trip with nocomplaints. The lobby was very inviting with a bar and a coffee bar. There was an area for multiple guests to sit in their own personal bar area and watch TV. The rooms were nicely sized with a sofa in my room. The only thing I wish I had more up was room light options. read more

I'll start by saying that Marriott is my preferred hotel chain. Understanding that each one may be individually owned, I won't bash the whole brand, but this property...NOPE. I came to town on 10.05.2022 for just one night and decided to stay here. I was using points and this property required the least amount of points of the 3 Marriott properties in the immediate area. I should have read reviews before coming here. This place was disgusting. My room (#304) smelled funny, the air inside was damp, and the room was dim, even with all the lights on. The shower hadn't been cleaned and the shower curtains had black mold on them. The lamps above the nightstand had cobwebs hanging from them. My bed linens were not fresh, and definitely were not changed before I arrived. And lastly, in the morning, I noticed (now that there was sunlight shining inside) there were baby cockroaches crawling on the tv console and the night stands. Now I'm afraid that I could bring unwanted pests to my home. This property is a horrible representation of Marriott. I'm sure Marriott corporate would not approve of this. Do better. read more

I've been staying at this location for many years when I come to Albany, however this is my last stay at Courtyard of Albany. Let's start off with the pricing... This location in the past was always a $99.00 per night stay or 10,000 points. Since the Town Place by Marriott was built, the rate and the category of this Courtyard has increased. But nothing else has changed here or improved. I would say since my last stay the management has not maintained the quality of the property. The young lady that checked us in was very nice and accommodating, but the pool was not working. The bathroom in the room was not properly cleaned and has serious grout problems. The AC unit is very loud and outdated!!! Next time, we will stay at the new Marriott property!!! read more

Their theme should be "Pay more and get less!!!" $200 a night for a dated hotel room. The a/c is one of those cheap mounted units. Instead of changing the temperature on the wall, you have to go to the actual unit and try to get it to adjust. TV is the smallest TV ever, I've had computer monitors that are bigger. HBO and Netflix on the TV never work. Internet in the hotel after 5pm is terrible. They hire also has cockroaches as an added bonus! You would be better off staying next door at the Fairfield Inn if you want to be loyal to the Marriott brand. read more

My family stayed in town last night and after getting woke up by a fire alarm that kept going off at 11 pm last night .I woke up to go get breakfeast to find only cerial ,muffins and no milk . Utter disapointment . read more

After checking in at the very nice lobby everything went south. Disgusting elevator led us to the second floor frat house. Not noise just filth. Carpets haven't been cleaned in a long time. Walls in the hallway stained with who knows what. Opened our room to be hit with a pungent smell. Instantly knew, nasty,,,just nasty,,,,, better check the bed for bed bugs. That's how I found the mattress stains. Things escalated from there. (See pics) Frustrated, disgusted and exhausted from traveling we simply resigned to go to bed fully dressed. Tried to cut on the TV, didn't work. Final straw, requested a room change and moved. 2nd room was no better but the TV works. So sad for Albany but even sadder for Marriott. This is why my first choice will always be Hilton. read more

I feel bad for staff trying to do a job with Jack hammers dust paint fumes all around. They should face closed down for 2 months such a joke. My husbands mattress was soaked in urine when he arrived. He contacted the front desk about this on Monday and Devon has been dodging him ever since trying to avoid the situation. Each day when my husband address the issue Devon states that he will follow-up him and he has done absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. Of course, my husband immediately moved rooms but he literally laid in someone else's urine. Devon has done whatever he can to buy himself time until my husband checks out. A case has been opened with corporate on the 19th and here we are, on the 22nd with no resolution. read more

I stay in Marriott hotels very frequently. This has to be the filthiest Marriott I've stayed at.. We purchased four rooms and they all were disgusting. One room still had trash in the garbage cans, one had clumps of hair in the bath tub and wouldn't drain. All of the rooms we got put in were musty and hot. There was grime all over the light switches next to the beds. Overall, I was very disappointed with this hotel. read more

I am only giving this hotel '2 Stars' because of the staff there. This hotel was in a great location as far as getting to work, grabbing a bite, or going out; however this is a VERY dated property. They are doing some renovations, but that in itself will take some time. My co-workers (about 12 of us) & I were in town for work and stayed at this hotel for 4 weeks. Some of us had no issues while others of us experienced having bugs and trash in our rooms. Even though the staff was great, I would not stay at this property again. read more

Albany, GA may not be an internationally-known travel destination, but if you find yourself staying in the small town for a family wedding, as I recently did, you could do a lot worse! The hotel lobby is clean and modern, with the obligatory overpriced convenience items and breakfast cafe serving Starbucks coffee (sorry, no complimentary hotel breakfast here!) The front desk and housekeeping staff are friendly and will remember you after a few encounters, and the rooms were very clean. Pro tip - the key cards are VERY sensitive and should not be kept anywhere near your cell phone. I simply carried mine in my purse at the same time as my phone and had to have them re-keyed three times in two days because that was enough to wipe information off the key cards and render them useless. The pool is nice, just be sure your card works before getting yourself stuck outside as I did! read more

Nastiest hotel I've been in. No cleaning procedures. Pictures show how I found the room at check in. Ac unit broken and very loud. Very weird smell and best of all- no water onsite at all. In the gym, for purchase. Etc. Management is not on site to take concerns and the front desk clearly seems used to it. read more

Me and my wife visited Albany for the High School State track finals, May 10-11, 2019. We paid $238 for a two-adult breakfast included room. We had a very disappointing experience. We expected so much more from a Marriott property. We checked in and the initial room we were given was a disaster. There were towels everywhere and it had not been cleaned since the prior guest checked out. We went back downstairs and were given a second room. That room's toilet did not flush. I tried to call downstairs to get maintenance to repair, but no one picked up. I tried chat on the app, but no one responded. We went back downstairs and we were given a third room. In this room, all the bed pillows were sitting in a chair and it looked like the sheets on the bed had been changed, but it was not fully made. We did not want another room as we had friends waiting for us at a nearby restaurant. On the way out I showed the front desk a picture of our bed and told them I just wanted them to know what the room looked like and to not do anything about it. (Both my wife and I had left our business computers in the room so we didn't want anyone in there.) After dinner, we returned and the door to our room was propped open we know one in the room! I couldn't believe my eyes. The room had not been made up and the bed or pillows had not been fixed. A few minutes later someone from housekeeping knocked on the door and they had brought what I presume was their son (6ft tall) and young daughter to our room. What is going on here? The next morning we went down for breakfast, and there was none. We asked about the included breakfast we paid $30 extra for and they seemed like they had never heard of it. After an awkward moment the lady at the front desk offered us two $10 credits for the Starbucks. I asked for the manager for clarification. Why did we pay $30 in advance for $20 in credits? He apologized and walked with us to the Starbucks and told them we could spend more than $20. Quickly we realized the Starbucks was understaffed and the poor girl working there had to not only work the desk but also be the cook. We tried to keep it simple, tea, oj, a muffin, omelet, oatmeal. We invited a friend over to our table but he said he preferred Waffle House, and he left. We were given the oj at the counter. About 30 minutes later our omelet was ready as our friend returned from having his breakfast at the Waffle House. We had to ask again about the Oatmeal. We had to ask again about the tea and, we had to ask again about the muffin. Eventually, we got all our food after which we checked out from a very frustrating stay. read more

Stayed here last night expecting to get a good nights sleep. As early as 8am till around 10:30am we had 5 different knocks on the door and on two occasions they opened the door! By then I was very upset with the staff. The last bang on the door instead of yelling "Still sleeping!" I got up and opened the door. The lady stated that she was there to deliver an air cleaner. I asked her to deliver it after I check out in about an hour. When checking out I asked them why in the world was the staff continuously knocking on the door since 8am?!!! The lady said oh sorry about that we thought you checked out. WTH?! After the first time they tried entering the room was that not a clue that it's still occupied? I guess not! I stayed here recently on a business trip to visit a client in Albany and I will stay here on my next return. I wish I could remember the names of the many staff members that helped me while I was there. From a warm and friendly welcome, to assistance getting my expense reports faxed out, and an excellent restaurant recommendation the staff was and is an A+ all around. The bed was fine but the numerous pillows were just not a good enough size for me. The free breakfast was good, the bacon in my opinion was the standout. Perfectly prepared and just crisp enough. The coffee also was more than passable for the gigantic pot they make for everyone. Definitely try this out if you're in that neck of the woods. read more

Courtyards are not my preference for business or leisure travel accomadations, mainly because it's a pretty bare bones hotel with no frills. I like modern contemporary/lux amenities. However, Courtyards are typically pretty comfortable and they pride themselves on catering to the "business" traveler. This location was pretty up to date as far as current Courtyard standards. The rooms are equipped with flat screen TV's and semi-modern furnishings. There is a nice business center that has has an open floor plan concept and free wifi. Zaxby's and Johnny share the same lot with the Courtyard and Fairfield Inn. So decent food is within very easy walking distance. KFC and Longhorn's are also just across the street. I also enjoyed the friendly service. If you must travel to Albany for business and you prefer the Marriott Brand (because you're a Marriott snob like me) then this is a great choice. read more

The reason for only 3 stars is because the staff is the most unfriendly I've ever encountered at a Marriott, and we stay often at Marriotts... Don't expect a warm, friendly welcome at the Bistro if you are Caucasian. The gentleman in front of me got smiles, giggles and conversation, I received a frown and an attitude as if I was disrupting her morning. Will not stay there again. read more

I stayed here for about a week because I was in town working, beautiful hotel... customer service was really good especially Jasmine she was very professional very friendly every morning when I left except for one particular young women (curly blonde hair) who NEVER acknowledged anyone. whoever was on duty at night always spoke asked how was my day if I needed anything. So that part was awesome! however the housekeeping; one word disgusting!!!! She left dirty things in there instead of replacing it with clean items the bed was not properly made, she empties the trash but he will still trashed at the bottom of it. I've stayed in plenty of hotels and this was by far the worst when it comes to cleanliness in the rooms. when asked if she would please clean the room she seem to have an attitude or maybe she went past my room, whatever the case based on housekeeping alone and when you stay for more than three or four days this is very important ,I'm gonna have to give this hotel a big fat C- Bring your own cleaning supplies read more

The lobby is modern, complete with dim lighting, sitting area and café. The room was medium sized with a queen bed, two night stands, pull out sofa, microwave, and TV. The theme of the room was neutral with basic styling. Upon settling in, I found my first disconnect. The sofa had a huge brown stain on it. My second disconnect came with the mini fridge. It was really a mini fridge, sitting in the far right cabinet of the entertainment console. A standard 59-64 oz. juice bottle could not fit in there sitting up or lying down and to top it all off, the shelves were nonadjustable. The microwave was old and could barely heat anything. Heating fast food would take longer than waiting in line and actually ordering it. The TV had basic cable and the option to utilize Bluetooth for music and Netflix. The bathroom was the highlight of the room. The tub was large and the shower temperature adjuster worked perfectly. The experience felt better than taking a shower at home. The bed was firm but the sheets felt cheap and thin similar to something with an abysmally low thread count. On the first night, a fire alarm went off exactly at midnight. The next morning, I came to the hard realization that there was no free breakfast. On the second night, my girlfriend encountered a roach she quickly dispatched. I encountered something crawling on me inside the bed. Overall, my stay at Courtyard by Marriott was alright. The staff was friendly but the basic hotel room amenities and housekeeping left much to be desired. Finally, for the love of your next guests, someone please thoroughly clean, inspect and spray your rooms. Unfortunately the rooms have a strong odor and the hotel appears to have a mold problem. I am very sensitive to mold and did not feel well in this hotel. It stinks...literally The phone also didn't work and they couldn't fix it until the next day. I would definitely not stay here again personally. read more

All the front desk people do is lie. You ask for service and they say they will take care of it and they don't. You ask for towels and they say they will bring up to your room and they don't. You ask for toilet paper and they say they have to go get it and promise to bring up to your room and they don't. You have to steal toilet paper from the restrooms next to their gym to get toilet paper! I asked if I can have the same room when I come back for a business trip that is already booked and they tell me that would not be a problem until I check in the following week and the room is unavailable. All they do is lie to your face and tell you what you want to hear to get you the leave them alone! HORRIBLE PLACE!!!! read more

I guess we are naive and expect truth and honesty when checking in. First, we had reservations and confirmation paperwork that said the two night stay would cost $214.70 which is what we agreed to pay. The total charged to my card was $260.00 which included a $25.00 a day incidental charge. We do not use hotels for any incidentals unless it is an emergency. No one told us this would occur! We were told when we called that there was a sign on the counter. So, keep your eyes open! Second, house keeping came at 5:00 when we were preparing for dinner. Not a problem, except that they had from 9:00 to 3:30 to accomplish the cleaning. Third, you have to be very careful when you use the internet and make sure you select the left button or you will be charged 4.95 a day for the ability to get network connectivity. Fourth, the bed is as hard as the floor. While we like firm mattresses, we would prefer some give. Overall, the facility was clean, but then that is why we picked a Marriott. My best estimate of the stay is two stars. read more

just created a a HUGE problem for me...3 months after stay I am traveling and have just been notified that there was a charge on my account in Albany, GA. I am NOT in Albany. I looked over my charges today and am clear this is not me so, like any sane person, I call to cancel my card before someone steals ALL of my money. Then I call this hotel to see if they can help me. This is when Pamela Symmes, the manager, tells me that they are just now charging cards from visits to the hotel restaurant in JULY! No notification to prior guests..nothing. I explain to I-could-care-less Pamela that this was my ONLY card on this trip and that I am now in a huge jam because of their alleged issue. She tells me that she's not my bank and she can't help it that my card is cancelled. A simple phone call about the problem 3 months ago indicating there would be a late charge or a simple phone call NOW before posting it would have saved me what will now be an inconvenience for family and fees to transfer money to me in some other way. A simple phone call would have kept all of this from happening. Now I also have to check to see if the cost has already been paid. How does a national hotel chain take 3 months to reconcile bills from a single bistro in a small city hotel? Pamela's boss allegedly has the same number as the hotel, but magically they don't know when she'll be available. Is Nisha Patel the manager of millions of these places? No, Pamela claims just this single hotel. I'm still on hold with Marriott's customer service. This is horrible and just know that if you stay here, it's apparently at your own risk because the bills don't post for months, and apparently the abacus and papyrus in the back don't work for billing either. Maybe it's my fault for trying to manage my money on this current trip with a single card. I'm furious. read more

We had a great experience at the Courtyard Marriott this weekend for a bachelorette party. Started with an early check in at 10am, great renovated double room. I see people complaining about room size but probably before they renovated. This room was a great size. We had a group of girls hanging out before we went out for the night and it was not too crowed at all. Front staff and management were all very helpful and friendly! Would definitely recommend staying here. read more
