    My last stay here... Disappointing
    MD W.

I've been staying at this location for many years when I come to Albany, however this is my last stay at Courtyard of Albany. Let's start off with the pricing... This location in the past was always a $99.00 per night stay or 10,000 points. Since the Town Place by Marriott was built, the rate and the category of this Courtyard has increased. But nothing else has changed here or improved. I would say since my last stay the management has not maintained the quality of the property. The young lady that checked us in was very nice and accommodating, but the pool was not working. The bathroom in the room was not properly cleaned and has serious grout problems. The AC unit is very loud and outdated!!! Next time, we will stay at the new Marriott property!!!

Netflix and HBO GO never work

Their theme should be "Pay more and get less!!!" $200 a night for a dated hotel room. The a/c is one of those cheap mounted units. Instead of changing the temperature on the wall, you have to go to the actual unit and try to get it to adjust. TV is the smallest TV ever, I've had computer monitors that are bigger. HBO and Netflix on the TV never work. Internet in the hotel after 5pm is terrible. They hire also has cockroaches as an added bonus! You would be better off staying next door at the Fairfield Inn if you want to be loyal to the Marriott brand.

After checking in at the very nice lobby everything went south. Disgusting elevator led us to the second floor frat house. Not noise just filth. Carpets haven't been cleaned in a long time. Walls in the hallway stained with who knows what. Opened our room to be hit with a pungent smell. Instantly knew, nasty,,,just nasty,,,,, better check the bed for bed bugs. That's how I found the mattress stains. Things escalated from there. (See pics) Frustrated, disgusted and exhausted from traveling we simply resigned to go to bed fully dressed. Tried to cut on the TV, didn't work. Final straw, requested a room change and moved. 2nd room was no better but the TV works. So sad for Albany but even sadder for Marriott. This is why my first choice will always be Hilton.

Urine and hair on toilet upon checking in

Nastiest hotel I've been in. No cleaning procedures. Pictures show how I found the room at check in. Ac unit broken and very loud. Very weird smell and best of all- no water onsite at all. In the gym, for purchase. Etc. Management is not on site to take concerns and the front desk clearly seems used to it.

One of the booths in the lobby, at the Bistro

Nice and clean lobby and rooms. Beds are comfy and the pool is warm. The reason for only 3 stars is because the staff is the most unfriendly I've ever encountered at a Marriott, and we stay often at Marriotts... Don't expect a warm, friendly welcome at the Bistro if you are Caucasian. The gentleman in front of me got smiles, giggles and conversation, I received a frown and an attitude as if I was disrupting her morning. Will not stay there again.

Walk-In shower. Microwave and small fridge. I slept peacefully. Woke up ready to take on the day. I grabbed quick breakfast on my way out. They offered eggs, bacon & sausage. Toast, bagels or Muffins. Host of cereal and fruits. There's a pancake maker and oatmeal. So if you're visiting Hampton Inn in Albany, try out this location.

The hotel is pet friendly, as is the staff. Festive decorations in the lobby (someone was ready for Christmas before Thanksgiving) :-). Our room was clean; decent sized bathroom, though the hotel seemed to be a bit stingy on the bath linens (no hand towels were placed in the bathroom, no extra towels or extra bath/wash cloths). I am sure there would not have been a problem to ask, but it was no big deal, particularly due to our very short stay. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. Typical "powdered" eggs, breakfast potatoes (which were a bit bland); the sausage looked pretty good, but I don't eat beef or pork, so not sure how it tasted. There was oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, bread for toast, and various types of pastries. The staff was super nice, even offering to take photos of my friend and I before we left the hotel for our gala. I would stay at this hotel again.

Would I recommend Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Albany? Yes!!!…read more This location has been here a a staple for downtown for over 40 years. It's just finishing up renovations to all the rooms. You see my room in the pictures. It's nice. The beds are luxurious. I slept like a baby in a swaddle. It's not as spacious, may be because I had 2 queen beds. But there's a lot of square footage. Mr. Frank was so helpful when I checked in. He made me take the chocolate chip cookies. He said he baked them just for me. Mr. Frank told me about Ray Charles Memorial located just across the street. Albany has so much rich history. There's a great soul food restaurant - The Grille- across the street as well. The next morning I wanted breakfast on the way out. It's continental breakfast. Eggs, bacon or sausage. Fresh sliced Fruit, apples and oranges. No bananas. There was a charge for the breakfast. I didn't have time to sit down and eat. So I had to keep it moving to my next stop. I will definitely choose this Hilton Garden Inn over all others.

Certainly not like the other $15 and $20 by other HGI properties. For breakfast, I only wanted the continental breakfast. Jeez!! They couldn't even supply milk for cereal. The baked goods looked like they were there from 2 weeks ago. Worst breakfast ever. And besides that, with my credit, it still cost me $2.00 on my bill. Really? How about charging $9.95 for parking. It's not like it was near the airport or a high density area. I'll never stay there again. My colleague and I were trying to meet in the lobby before leaving for dinner and were inundated by gnats or fruit flies. Very annoying. My room smelled like mold. The treadmill in the gym was broken. My only regret was not booking the Hampton Inn instead.

Dirty Room, Roaches, & No Manager Accountability…read more I stayed at Country Inn & Suites Albany from July 11-13, 2025, and it was hands-down the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Upon arrival, I found: Roaches crawling across the desk and bathroom floor A cracked, unsecured window that made me feel unsafe Rust spots on fixtures and unknown stains on the bedding A strong foul odor throughout the room No clean towels available, even after multiple requests Unsecured access to pool with paper warning on the door, stating that the pool was closed Dangerous fitness facility I reported all these issues before checkout to "Morgan," who claimed to be the nighttime manager--but she lied and offered zero solutions. The next morning, the day-shift clerk said no manager was on duty. I then called Choice corporate and was directed back to this property, only to be told by Jordan (front-desk manager) that the General Manager, Jennifer, would review my case and call me--yet I still haven't heard back. For $279.25 paid via Cash App, I expect a clean, safe room and professional management. Instead, I got filth, health hazards, and run-around excuses. I will be filing complaints with the Georgia Department of Public Health, BBB, and disputing the charge with Cash App unless I receive a full refund immediately. Tip: Save yourself the trouble--book elsewhere.

The sheets looked like they'd been through a crime scene, the bathroom vanity was hanging on for dear life, and the floor felt like one wrong step would land me in the lobby below. The tub had a massive crack, and just when I thought it couldn't get worse, I found throw up in the shower. That's not "bad housekeeping" that's a health hazard. This place isn't a hotel, it's a horror movie set. Sleep in your car, pitch a tent, or book literally anywhere else. At least you won't have to share your room with roaches and someone else's stomach contents. Yelp isn't letting me post the vomit photo.
