What an experience! My wife found this place and what a Gem it is. My wife had the cold plate salad with a scoop of chicken salad and Balsamic Raspberry Vinaigrette. I had the Rueben Sandwich with Truffle Fries. The food was excellent- the fries were hot and the Marble Rye bread was soooo fresh. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was so laid back. If it wasn't for the window into the Kitchen which I appreciate so much, you would think you were in someone's home. I understand they have a great Brunch on Saturdays. P.S. I ate lunch here with a colleague recently and we both loved it. Great vibes here! The only small complaint I have is that they sat us near the bar on the backside and it was super quiet there. Kinda felt like everyone in the room could hear everything we were saying- lol. That wasn't a big deal though. It was a better situation than being in a place where you can't hear the person right next to you. The food and my smoothie were both awesome and our waitress was very courteous. Albany strikes again with this gem of a restaurant. I spent quite some time on Yelp finding a place for lunch while we were traveling through Albany, and i can confidently suggest that if you're thinking of stopping here then you should. We came on a Saturday and were a little disappointed that they only had their brunch menu available, but the food definitely didn't disappoint. I got the burger and my wife got the French toast; both were amazing. The burger especially was a huge amount of food for the price. It's a little weird you can't request how you'd like it cooked, but I can get over that. I'd love to come back and try their full menu. Our waiter was really nice and patient with our feral child who needed to wiggle after being stuck in a car all day. Although we were in the very back of the restaurant, he was attentive and got us everything we needed. The restaurant is very cute and eclectic. This place has a small menu but was very tasty. I visited with the National Peanut Board today, as we are in town learning about peanuts. We ordered both appetizers for the table. The pimento dip was tasty but the garlic bread was the best. The salad was also fantastic which really surprised me, I guess it had a balsamic dressing. Later I kind of wished I ordered a full one of that with some chicken for my regular meal; I ordered the chicken wrap without olives and with chips. The wrap had pesto as well and was very good. However, the first wrap they brought me apparently did have olives and they also brought french fries instead of chips. I actually ended up liking the fries more than the chips until they told me they had given me the wrong wrap, so I swapped for the one without olives. The wrap was good but I only ate half, as it was very filling. The star of the show was definitely the peanut butter cake they made for dessert. Unfortunately I'm not sure if that's on their regular menu or not. I ate half of it and now I wish I ate the whole thing, as it was delicious. This place is very cute in general and they also have a bakery, one of the people on our trip bought some cider donuts and shared them with us and those were very good as well. I would definitely stop by this restaurant again if I was in the area. read more

Such a cute and dainty place. A nice little restaurant that's perfect for breakfast or brunch. Definitely a nice addition to Albany. The menu is limited but it also makes it easier to choose something. For the most part, the menu is healthy and everything seems like a good choice. Everything came out delicious. This place has such a homey/farmy ambiance to it. They have a small bakery/shop in addition to the restaurant. I haven't bought anything from their bakery, but definitely intend to in the future because I've heard nothing but good things about it. The employees there are super sweet and attentive. What a refreshing find in this city. Everything is house made. The bread, crackers croutons.... The homey rustic decor with every table being different and the comfort of the large enclosed front entrance that gives you the fee of eating outdoors ( minus the bugs!).... The soup of the day was vegetable bisque.... Fresh and LOADED with flavor. Also had the small cold plate salad. Chicken salad had cranberries and was smooth. Pimento cheese salad was tasty. The fried cauliflower was crispy and oh my goodness!! They have a large bakery area with bread, muffins and lots of tempting treats to take home. Being one of the last customers to leave after the lunch rush we were able to talk to the young energetic chef.... Who has worked her way up into the position.... There's a shop attached to the restaurant where they sell their bread and cookies. It was basically cleared out when we got here (we arrived around 1 pm) so we were sad about that, but it seemed like they would have a lot of options if you came in the am. My husband got the grilled cheese with bacon and this is where it's at - I wish I'd gotten that too because it was YUM. Also the garlic parm fries were so good we ended up ordering another side of them. I did a build your own burger which was good but not spectacular, and the corn chowder which was not creamy like I expect a chowder to be, and which wasn't up to par with some of the other items imo. On our last day visiting family here in Albany they took us to this quaint yet large local restaurant. Besides being just a restaurant it supports individuals and a local organization that helps people with addictions. We started with the Cheesy Herb bread bowl which turned into a feeding frenzy after the first bite. The dipping sauce had a little heat. I got the BLT with candied bacon which I sat silently eating since the sandwich was so on point as were the fried cauliflower for my side. My wife got the French onion soup sandwich. The au-jus sauce was a wonderful addition to her entree. Our lunch companions enjoyed the Squash hunger protein grain bowl and the Mushroom swiss burger both winners. This is truly one of the most unique and delicious restaurants in the Albany area. It is an open air theme with plenty of space, and it is decorated very well. The staff is friendly and the food is always excellent. It does have a limited menu, but that's what you should expect from a 4 to 5 star dining experience. The food prices are higher, but the food quality explains this away. My family and I highly recommend this restaurant. I asked someone for a place to eat that was all fried and they took me to this place. I am so glad they did! This place has a fun rustic decor and you feel instantly at home. They host was very mannerly and the waitress pleasant with just the right amount of checking to see if we needed anything. I had the carrot soup - delicious!- and the signature salad. I am really glad that I finally got to give this place a shot. You really have to know that they have lunch hours and the specific days they're open. They're just in an area that doesn't really have any restaurants, but you should know this place can get busy. We got there early for lunch the other day and by the time we left there were people lining up for a table. The place is worth it. The bread was fresh and just so soft. My steak sandwich was that much better because of it. The coffee -- made from Jittery Joe's it looks like -- was just outstanding. The cream and coffee had such a wonderful blend and was very comforting. The staff were all very pleasant and the layout of the store was just wide and inviting. It's situated in a large house that doesn't look anything like a store or a restaurant. In fact, you can easily miss this place. I've driven by it several times and, even though it has a sign, it doesn't really stand out. Yet this place is still very popular! I can't state enough how much you need to give this place a try. She said she didn't know how to put it in other wise and even though the menu says under sides one scoop chicken salad includes 4 crackers for $4.50 additional $2 for extra crackers. Hands down the best lunch, of it's kind, in Albany. The restaurant is good looking, comfortable, and the staff and owners are welcoming and accommodating. Our waitresses always know the specials and are happy to give recommendations on what to try. The predominately female staff, including the Chef, make you feel like they really want you there and that is something that is missing in many establishments these days. As for the food, I've literally never had something there that I did not enjoy and while I have my go-to favorites, I enjoy trying everything. This is the place we bring all of our out-of-town guests to enjoy lunch during the week. My only complaint is they aren't open on the weekends. Well done, y'all! read more

As much as I wanted this to be a 5 star experience, our second visit was not as epic as the first! The good--my husband's chicken salad wrap was just as delicious as the first visit and the homemade chips are crispy and tasty. The not-so-good-- my candied bacon BLT on sourdough bread was lackluster with one redemption--the bread was delicious; soft with a crispy crust and enticing enough to keep me from ditching the sandwich! The candied bacon was cold, chewy, and shared a characteristic with the lettuce and tomato--sparsity! For the price, the sandwich had little filling, but that bread was tasty! Now, the bowl of corn chowder we shared the first visit was creamy and filled with potatoes, corn, and sausage--I think. This visit it was like a broth-thin and VERY few ingredients! It did, however, have a nice taste. This doesn't mean we won't go back--we will, to give their Fall menu a try! The restaurant is extremely cute with an outdoor porch, waiting room, indoor seating, coffee bar, and upstairs boutique. I ordered the BLT sandwich. Service was very slow. Should have been called the bacon sandwich. The tomato was sliced so thin you could see through it.
