An OK experience at this Courtyard by Marriott Anniston Oxford. I wouldn't necessarily consider it a 3* hotel considering some of the basic flaws blatantly on display here. I do appreciate the ample parking, however my room had a musty smell that lingered. Basically, the carpet needed to be deep cleaned or pulled up and discarded. The customer service from the front desk was less than friendly and just good enough to complete the check-in process. The room had some areas worthy of upgrading, like the cracks in the ceiling above the bathtub. If I visit again I hope it is a much better experience. read more

We stayed for 3 night with our 2 small dogs. We loved the room and the staff is wonderful. We swim every night while we are traveling and we loved the warm pool. The hotel is very clean and the manager even gave our dogs a gift bag. We will stay again on our way back home read more

Y'all! This place was fabulous at every touchpoint! We arrived here on Thursday evening after dinner. I went to the front desk to ask about parking because we were towing a car. Faith was so warm, welcoming and helpful! After settling in, my husband grabbed drinks at the bar. We also let our little kids use the pool in the morning. They serve a nice selection of made to order breakfast options, although we didn't try them. The parking is plentiful. The hotel has updated, modern decor, was extremely clean and had a fresh, delightful smell. Great stay at a great price! read more

Let's start with the negatives because there's not a lot. There's no free breakfast, but I feel like that's become more common nowadays so not a big minus. There was a minor mix up with my check out date, but we got it resolved nice and quick! Finally the maid service, while really good at their job can't help but touch guests stuff when it's left in a certain spot, and I just didn't appreciate that. The positives: The staff are wonderful overall. The front desk and bistro staff in particular are wonderfully accommodating, super plesant and very understanding. They're willing to work with you if things come up, and the managers are also wonderful! The atmosphere is upscale and classy, I'd expect no less from a Marriott but I have had times where it wasn't delivered, it very much is delivered here. The rooms are wonderful, comfortable beds with enough room to work, a mini fridge for those of us who want to bring our lunches to work, and they're clean, like spotless clean. There's some signs of aging on the furniture but that's not the end of the world. Abundant parking, and a great location are just the final ways this hotel really shines. There's plenty of restaurants to choose from nearby, and honestly most of them get recommendations from the staff. If you're in the Anniston/Oxford area I'd suggest this hotel if you can secure a room. read more

Stayed here for a family reunion in Talladega, AL. Its approx 23 miles away, but worth it in my opinion as Talladega only had 1 hotel I'd consider staying at. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating with getting all 3 rooms on the same floor and close together. Each time we left or returned to the hotel, we were greeted. The hotel is well-kept, clean, and in a great location- lots of eateries in walking distance. The kids utilized the pool each day we were there. My only gripe is the 1st day of using the pool it appeared to be heavily chlorinated as it burned my eyes and I wasn't even in the pool. Aside from that, I'd return and stay again. read more

I am a Titanium elite Marriott member and within the 6 years I have been loyal this hotel is The absolute Worst the beds are hard and dirty might as well be a motel 6 hotel, they have a severe infestation of ants and maybe other crawling insects. They also have thieves working at the front desk keep and eye on your cards and withdraw information I have been going back and forth for 60 about my refund and they continually lied about refunds. We checked into our room on our drive to Orlando. We were on the top/4th floor. Room seemed clean. We had brought food with us to eat. A few minutes later the roaches appeared. I typically love the Courtyards (they're my goto), but this one is an exception. The employees were very friendly and helpful, so I'm guessing it's the management company who missed the Marriott training on what you're supposed to get with a Courtyard experience. The appearance of this hotel was on par with other Courtyards. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. I've stayed in the same room in many Courtyards and it appeared to be well kept. The first issue I noticed upon arrival was there appeared to be a leak in the bathroom ceiling at one time because there was a bulge and a small hole near the fan. Not a big deal, but more of what I would expect at a lessor hotel brand. The road noise from the highway was a little loud but I turned the fan on to block it out and I was able to have a nice sleep. Again, not a big deal and I've definitely been in similar situations during my travels. In the morning I went down to the excersize room. It was a nice room and appeared to be well kept. Unfortunately there was no wipes for wiping down the equipment and no towels although there was a shelf for these items. With the flu and sickness going around everywhere it was important for me that the equipment be cleaned before and after my workout. The front desk clerk was nice enough to provide me with wipes. I don't understand why they wouldn't have this room stocked. Are they trying to save money? Then when I went to shower, I noticed the shower curtain liner was too long and took over half of the tub when I was attempting to shower. Also I was a little grossed out when I saw the hair on the shower curtain and on the soap ledge, I almost didn't want to shower. Maybe it's just me being picky, but some stranger's hair in the shower grosses me out... These items alone will keep me from returning. There are plenty of other options nearby. read more

First our interaction with an employee or manager, I'm unsure of his actual title or name, was chaos, don't be black and use the family and friends discount. That's "fishy" apparently. Then the room, there were baby roaches . I saw another review that mentioned roaches so pest control is not a priority I guess. No room cleaning due to Covid, ok got it. Extra towels to compensate? No! In fact zero hand towels. Went to front desk and asked for hand towels, don't have any. I was in for nine nights-extended stay. One little bottle of shampoo, two little bar of soap and 1/2 roll toilet paper. Need to ask at front desk for everything. Roaches? Probably due to zero room cleaning except every four days. Garbage collects in the rooms.Big problem. Cable tv system is screwed. If anyone in the hotel plugs in a gaming system it blows out the entire hotel televisions. Freezing screens, stuttering screens, loss of audio, impossible to watch. Management knows but denies problem. States that people are told not to plug in game boxes because it "fries the wires". I don't game but nobody told me. Every evening tv is screwed up. Don't stay here. Courtyard Dump! Worst I ever stayed!! Stay Away! Filthy and lacking of basic services. Move on. read more

This place was pretty nice and fairly priced. I felt safe and had a great stay. I would have given them 5 stars, but they said there was free breakfast and there wasn't. The pool, hot tub, and gym were cool and great amenities. The location was perfect, with gas stations, restaurants and shopping all close by. Their lobby is awesome and they have a small restaurant and great sitting area. I'll stay here again for the Talledega NASCAR race!!! read more

Recently stayed for my 4 year anniversary and had to wait over 2 hours for my room to be ready. Had food l brought that needed to be refrigerated that went bad by the time we got to the room. We booked two rooms for 5 people for three nights. . Our first room was filthy. The hideabed looked like someone had peed on the mattress. I wouldn't let a dog sleep on it. Called the manager up to the room. She said she would get us another room. When we got to the next one there were light bulbs missing and not enough towels and no hangers and the handles were missing on the closet doors. We folded out the hide a bed and the floor underneath it had garbage on it. We were told the other room was handicap accessible but there were no grab bars beside the toilet. We ended up leaving and going across the street to the Hampton Inn. Do not stay at this Courtyard by Marriott. We are platinum elite at Marriott and this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. read more

Marriott Courtyard - Oxford, AL - My room had a non-functioning desk lamp upon check in and I wasn't provided a low-level (first floor) room as requested in my profile. Moved to another room (also on the third floor) which also had a non-functioning light over chair (no outlet to plug light in to) and when moving credenza to investigate discovered trash and toe/finger-nail clippings. No excuse for this poor level of maintenance. In addition, at breakfast in the morning, service in the Bistro was extremely slow due to understaffing and frequent turnover of personnel at this facility. When discussing room condition with local facility I was offered a drink which I politely turned down. If this is the level of service I can expect from Marriott, I will move my 100+/year stays to the Hilton chain. read more

Car was broken into and cops told me it was common in that area. Went to tell the staff and they were very short and not helpful. I understand it's common practice that hotels have no responsibility in the parking lots. However, the staff told me there are no cameras installed so if you stay here be mindful of where you park. You are truly on your own if that happens to you at this hotel. By the reaction of the staff, it must happen a lot here as they did not seem surprised at all. Hotel hates children. Charges extra fees for kids! We booked a two-night stay for a reasonable rate through Priceline, but after checking out, we discovered that the hotel charged the room rate PLUS 2.5 times the room rate in fees (in excess of $300) because our two-year-old spilled dry cereal on the floor. Since I completed a walk-through of the room myself, I was sure it was a mistake for the extra charges. The rude manager who screamed at me on the phone-- CC-- assured me that my two-year-old was not welcome to stay at her hotel and that the charges were correct. Yes, she said that I should not bring my child to her hotel or any hotel. She debited these fees--without consent-- from my checking account. She didn't even speak to me about this. Corporate has YET to correct it. $500 for a two-night stay? Multiple calls to the hotel and corporate over spilled cereal (no milk)? It's not worth it. We ended up spending more than our kids' Christmas presents on fees. Families beware. CC needs corporate disciplinary action; Marriott needs to stand behind best business practices. read more

If you're just trying to collect Marriott points, then stay down the street at the Fairfield Inn. This Courtyard isn't up to typical Marriott standards. Stayed here five nights and the Bistro never had regular roast coffee in the mornings and several things on the menu they were out of. Didn't receive maid service one day, three out of the four hotel ice machines didn't work, and the exercise equipment is in need of replacing. If this continues, this will be Quality Inn in six months. read more
