    Terrible!

Hotel is a 3 star at best based on being out dated. Then o top of that, don't expect to be able to watch tv if it's raining. TV went out along with internet multiple times the first night. Then here comes the second night- toilets on the hotel start backing up! Disgusting and go figure the water started to overflow everywhere! They do not have mate nance on the weekend and one of the girls from the front desk had to plunge and clean up the water all over the floor that ran to the carpet. They did not have any rooms to move me to and also would not comp the room for the night. I received a $50 credit and will not ever go back!

I finally settled on a merlot and a $4 bag of chips.

Excellent hotel. Upscale, comfortable, clean, friendly. Easy check in, accurate check out. Two beds, both good. TV, shower very good. Internet good. Nice and relaxing library - quiet. Very good parking. Location/access superb. I return to area in 10 days and I'll stay here again. Heads up for the business traveler, however: Out of Cabernet and Chardonnay for happy hour Out of four (4) basic food items for happy hour/dinner Water no longer provided, bring your own or stay at Hilton or Hyatt Two of us in double room but only provided one (1) paper coffee cup and coffee packet, one small plastic "water cup" - Since maid service only "every other day" I stopped by front desk and got hesitation for more. Continuous, lighthearted but very loud vocal banter of food/beverage personnel was overpowering, several of us had to move to library to work on our paperwork, computers. All in all - a great Marriott property, just iron out the minor mgt. issues above.

Sitting on the balcony enjoying the peace and quiet.

If there were more stars to give I would! There aren't enough characters to write how much of a horrible day I was having until I walked into the Courtyard lobby and was warmly greeted by Carl. I stay at Marriott properties all the time, even at the 5 star hotels I've never been treated better. His voice is pleasant and it seems like he knows when someone needs to just relax. The check in was fast, and the room was clean and comfortable. I can't thank Carl enough for giving just a little ease to an otherwise horrible day! Maybe he should train all the incoming front desk associates for Marriott, because he for sure has it right!! Thank you Carl!

I recently stayed at the "Courtyard Cleveland Independence" location for two nights. Overall, it's a clean, comfortable hotel. I had no issues with my room. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the WiFi was fast, the HVAC worked well, and the mini fridge kept my drinks cold. The hotel does have some major issues maintenance-wise and in other areas: - The rooms feel dated. My bathroom, while clean, needs to be updated. The shower looked like it is one of those one-piece fiberglass units - and the finish on it was yellowed. - The word "Marriott" on the outside of the hotel is on the fritz - flashing intermittently like a strobe light. - One of the elevators was out-of-order during my stay. - This Courtyard has the worst condition parking lot I have ever seen at any hotel. The entire parking lot needs to be re-leveled and repaved. - The HD TV in my room was really old, and really small. The TV's are mounted on a mounting board, that has room to support a much larger (and thinner) flat screen HD TV. - When I checked in, I attempted to upgrade to their "Enhanced WiFi" package for faster speed. However, the system kept telling me I was not in their system. The front desk called their tech support, and it took them approximately 30 minutes to manually address the issue. While I had some problems and criticisms of the hotel - again, overall, my room was fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again when visiting the Independence, OH area - hopefully the hotel will have addressed all of these issues soon. #CourtyardClevelandIndependence #Marriott

Little sofa inside a room with a king bed.

I loved the modern decor in the hotel! The lobby is very sheek and offers plenty of space to relax or grab a bite of food from their cafe. I got a room with a king bed and boy was it comfy! Soft and like laying on a cloud. I feel some hotel beds are stiff, but this is was perfect after dancing all night at a friends wedding. I loved the little sofa and large desk. The sink is outside of the bathroom, which I like and the closet doors are full mirrors, which I also find some hotel rooms lack. Perfect amount of lights in the room, USB outlet and double layered curtains. The Courtyard does not have a continental breakfast, but there is a cafe downstairs that has Starbucks coffee. I only saw and spoke to the hotel receptionist when we checked in. Overall, a great nights stay and plenty of parking!

I stayed here for a short time while doing some sightseeing in the Cleveland area and I had a nice stay at this hotel while I was here. What was even better was that I stayed here entirely for free since a have a ton of Hilton Honors membership points. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, and the landscaping and grounds here are pleasant and well maintained. There are a small number of parking spaces in the front of the hotel for handicapped people and for diamond members of Hilton, and the majority of parking for their guests is on the sides and in the back of the hotel. As I checked in I was greeted by two ladies who were both professional and friendly. They greeted me kindly and gave me a key to my reserved room. Upon entering my room, I was immediately pleased. It was clean, nicely decorated, and well organized. The bed was incredibly comfortable and there was a sofa/chair in the room that reminded me of a chair you would sit in as you see your psychiatrist. Although this was a little funny, it was incredibly comfortable to sit in while watching TV. In my hotel room there was a small refrigerator, a nice TV, a hairdryer, a small/personal coffee maker, an iron and ironing board, and all the things that you would expect to see in a hotel. Unfortunately, there was no microwave in my hotel room, which was disappointing because I use a microwave daily. There is a microwave available in the lobby for their customers, but this is an inconvenient option if you use a microwave frequently. My room was quiet and enjoyable, and I felt safe during my stay. I really liked the bathroom layout as well, which was well decorated and very clean. While staying here I really enjoyed the free breakfast in the mornings, which was well-stocked with lots of good options. I was also appreciative that this hotel offers a selection of free coffee options throughout the day, which is a must for a true java-head like me. My check out was smooth. The young lady that checked me out was friendly, but I did think it was a little unprofessional to see her snacking on the free hotel breakfast while checking me out. Overall, I enjoyed my time while staying in this hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Oh gosh how this place has went downhill. I have to go back and forth to Cleveland clinic and…read morebecause they didn't have a number to the hotel the number provided they answered the phone " Comfort inn" but it was a booking agent and I've stayed several times before but I won't again! There was toothpaste and dried spit on the sink in the bathroom, ring around the tub with hair, totally not cleaned and tried to take off shoes and we stuck to the floor! Had to walk in flip flops in the room! Just used it to crash and I had been getting continual text messages with a confirmation # and I didn't check in till I was done with my first clinic trip and attempted to give this to Lurch the night guy and he pushed my phone away from him as I have throat cancer and couldn't speak loud so I was trying to show him my confirmation # and he was rude, they refused to give me Cleveland clinic discount because I wasn't a choice member and hadn't stayed since 2013! I never stayed there at all till 2016 and the choice rewards was under my former husbands name and phone number and they wouldn't take it even tho it's my membership but had to be in his name because of the name on the card. Went down for breakfast and I attempted to make a waffle and I don't like mine totally brown as the timer is set and the attendant basically come and smacked my hand and told me to let it cook and asked me what was I doing? It's just so sad to see such a descent place for Cleveland clinic patients to stay and also in 2016 the pool was inoperable, in 2025 the pool was still inoperable and covered with black mold and that's your view from the eating area!

We stayed here on a recent fam' roadtrip. For our Ohio-leg of our journey, we chose this…read moreIndependence Comfort Inn for its proximity to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the attraction we were in town to see. This Comfort Inn is ideally located for anyone coming to the National Park. It sits close to the north entrance, less than ten minutes from the northern visitor center, with most main features of the large park less than a half hour drive away. On one of our days here, our outdoor activities were rained out. We impromptu-decided to go to the Cleveland Museum of Art instead, which we were happy to discover was only about a 25 minute drive from this hotel. So Cleveland city attractions are reasonable drive from here too, if you are in the area for that reason. Regarding the hotel itself, we had a good experience here. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities were bright and clean. Our room was a standard Double/Double. The room wasn't huge, but spacious enough for our fam' of four. The bathroom had a large glass shower. The shower door was heavy and didn't slide easy. But the shower itself was clean and hot. This Comfort Inn has a nice seasonal outdoor pool that our kids enjoyed very much during the hot days of our trip. Another nice feature of this Comfort Inn is they sell alcohol at the front desk, something I haven't seen at many other Choice locations. Single-serve wines, bottles of beer, and an assortment of liquor minis ran about $4 each. One qualm about this hotel is there doesn't appear to be any Queen/Queen rooms available at all. We are longtime Choice Privileges loyalty club members, and I picked this location for the pool and proximity to our attractions of interest. But a double-bed is a hard sell for the hubbs and I, as we both like to splay out like frogs when we sleep, haha. It's too bad they don't have any Queen/Queen options for families here. Overall we were pleased with this Comfort Inn. It is a two-minute drive to many dining options, both sit-down and drive-thru, and in a great location for visiting tourist destinations in the Cleveland area, particularly the National Park. I would stay here again, especially in the summer when the kids can enjoy the nice outdoor pool area.

I stayed here while spending a three day weekend exploring Cuyahoga Valley National Park. While my…read moreroom itself was fine, other things ended up making my stay less than ideal. Even before my stay started there were signs that it would not be peaceful. The check-in process did not go smoothly, both because the staff did a terrible job telling me what they needed (example: they did a bad job communicating when they needed my signature in multiple places on a form) and also because there was loud music playing directly overhead during the entire process. It was a frustrating welcome to the hotel. The room itself was fine - very average. Typical uncomfy king sized bed (as I loooooove a soft bed), typical crappy pillows (seriously why are they always thin to the point of being flat?), and the typical accommodations from a desk to a dresser to a TV to a fridge. The bathroom was small (just big enough for the shower and toilet) and the sink was set up outside of the bathroom itself. This wasn't a problem for me since I was traveling alone, but I can see this making it more annoying to get ready in the morning if you're in a group (since it's nice to have counter space in the shower area to set down clothes, makeup, etc.). There was no housekeeping while I stayed here, which stuck out to me since I couldn't even find a placard to put on the door saying no housekeeping was needed in my case. I have no idea what the policy is and what that means for folks who do like daily housekeeping services. I opted to skip the free breakfast...better to pay for decent food elsewhere than settle for bad free food, in my opinion. Getting in and out of this hotel was just a pain. There's only one road in, and then when you drive out you're forced to wind around a restaurant across from the hotel and drive down to another road entirely. The true dealbreaker, however, is that this hotel seemingly has zero soundproofing. During one of my two nights here, the pitter patter of little feet in the room above me woke me up. And the pitter pattering never stopped. I have no idea what was going on in that room, but it seems like someone's kid got the zoomies at 1:00am and they never settled back down. It didn't get better after sunrise, when even louder footsteps in the room above me (presumably as they all packed up) guaranteed that my morning was not a peaceful one. The only reason I got any sleep that night was because I always travel with earplugs. But if it takes earplugs to get some rest in a hotel, then your hotel has completely failed to deliver on its most basic service: providing a place to sleep and rest while we travel. You probably guessed by now that I won't be back, and the next time I'm in the area my priority will be finding a different place where I can get a proper night's sleep!

I had been driving for a few hours and my body started telling me I needed to get off the road . I…read morechecked the area and read the Yelp reviews and decided that I wanted to stay at the Hilton here . Unfortunately for me when I arrived they were booked as it was a Friday night . I saw the two star rating and expected the worst but this was the only place I could find with availability. All I needed was a shower and a bed... how bad could it be? Terrible. Even their current two star rating is too high. The entire place reeked of weed. It was so overpowering I had a headache within 20 minutes of being in the room. I opened the window, put on the AC, lit a candle AND sprayed air freshener. The room was incredibly musty and dirty and my shoes were sticking to the tiled floor in the room when I came in. It was absolutely disgusting. There were streaks all over the mirrors, sticky spots on the floor, dust flying off the vents, ugh. They charged an additional $25 pet fee on top of the price of the room cost which is standard but this room wasn't worth $25 itself. The "Wi-Fi" is insecure and basically non existent. It's so slow I had to use my own data just to check in on Yelp and even when it does work for a second or two it kicks you off every few minutes and you have to sign in again. It's not worth it. I have up and decided to shower and go to bed so I could leave early but there was no soap in the room. There was one small shampoo sample and a lotion sample. Luckily I travel with my own hygiene products but it's still disgusting to me that people are getting rooms with no soap in them. The shower was horrible of course, zero water pressure and a strange texture on the bottom of the tub that was kind of slimy like if they had resurfaced the tub but not done a good job. And the cherry on top was getting to dry off with a tiny hand towel because the actual towel they gave me clearly had someone's makeup wiped off on it (See photo) and I didn't want to dry myself with someone else's used to towel. The bed was oddly uncomfortable, there was a hard section on the outer right edge, so I kind of rolled into the middle and I was able to fall asleep. Unfortunately that only lasted an hour or two and then around 12:30 a.m. I was awoken by at keast a half dozen people in the back parking lot playing music and smoking so much weed it was coming through the cosed window for hours. By 2 a.m. they were gone and I did fall back asleep but believe me, the minute I woke up, all I wanted to do was leave. I walked right past the "breakfast" which consisted of some old bagels and cereal dispensers (absolutely no hot food) and got out of there. Believe the reviews! Sleep in your car if you have to.
