There is no box spring because it's supposed to be for a Handicap person . The thermostat was also not working .

The way I was treated by the desk staff . The room was not adequate, they couldn't supposedly provide another room . I am a Hilton Honors member . I don't think I'll ever get to a higher tier because of this incident .

Well I guess this will get 3 stars Would really like to give it 2.5 First the common areas smell a bit stale and smokey. For a Hampton inn that charges $189 plus taxes and fees I would expect a lot more. The rooms are very basic and a little old looking. I feel like my room was barely cleaned before we checked in. Plenty of pillows & beds seem Comfy. and I was happy to have an appropriate amount of towels in my room. Feel the room is s little cleaner after the first night. Can't tell you about the breakfast or the evening snacks since we did not use either.

This is by far THE worst experience I have ever had a Hampton Inn. So much so that I emailed the company to complain. Half of the staff was nice - really nice - and the other half was incompetent! Half of the staff followed the protocol and rules and the other did not. Which is the WORST thing to do at a hotel because it makes for angry guests. First off the lobby was nice. The guy who checked us in, Kyle, nice. We get to our room and there was a huge toe nail on our carpet which means it wasn't vacuumed. And that toe nail remained there the entire trip. One day they completely skipped cleaning our room. I don't know why. The vending machines were always out of what I wanted and I literally traveled to each one on each floor before one of them ate my quarters. The maintenance man was very nice. He helped me get extra towels and toilet paper that we never got because our room was never cleaned. The shower head also broke. The breakfast was good. One plus side. We also left something behind and called immediately the next day and got a response that was they would check when they could and called back a few days later only after we emailed the company complaining. Oh and on our last day the hotel didn't have hot water and didn't even call the rooms to inform us. We had to find out the hard way! Meaning freezing showers. Our friends we were staying with called the front desk and then informed us that oh yeah the whole hotel doesn't have hot water. But they did nothing to compensate us for that. After talking to the company they then got in contact with the hotel and we finally had such compensation for the awful experience. It's such a shame this one was so bad because overall we love hamptons and were so excited to be staying at another one and even thinking of joining their loyalty program! Hopefully if you stay here your experience is more pleasant. For us it was just one problem and incident after the other.

This is the bathroom air vent. Full of filthy mold.

We would not return to this hotel. 1. They claim to provide breakfast. All they give you is a small box with a 2 ounce mini-bagel, tiny 4 ounce peach yogurt, and two overcooked inedible hard boiled eggs. No milk available for kids. 2. The bathroom sink was clogged. Despite twice contacting the front desk, they never fixed it. I don't think that they have any maintenance staff available on weekends. According to the front desk staff: Mainenance comes in late on weekends. (This was said in the afternoon1) 3. Although the bathroom air vent is at eye level, avoid looking at it. It is gross! Filled will lots of filth and mold. (See pictures.)

This Hampton inn is just like any other Hampton inn that I have stayed at. Pretty nice for a chain hotel. But this one in particular had some pros and cons. Pros- good breakfast and recently remodeled breakfast/lobby area. He staff is very welcoming and friendly. There is a fairly large outdoor pool, which is nice. Most hotels have smaller indoor pools. Cons- the rooms seem a little outdated. The carpet seems a little warn out, the mattress was in need of replacement, and the wallpaper was starting to peel in certain spots. I would probably stay here again, but only if they did a little remodeling. Even just replacing the mattresses and furniture, putting in some new carpet, and replacing the wallpaper would make this place a nicer hotel. But even as it is, it isn't so bad.

When we arrived and checked in, front desk was very efficient and friendly making sure we had everything we needed. As well as housekeeping here, I used the Marriott app, requested extra towels and blankets and within 10 minutes, they had it delivered to us. I also had an issue regarding seeing a charge on two different credit cards, the front desk was able to explain to me regarding my checkin on the app and in person caused that to happen but would be taken off (which it did). I also had another issue regarding ice cream left over in my fridge (which tells me it was not looked at and cleaned). They quickly resolved my issue--housekeeping came down immediately, removed the ice cream and cleaned it. Very friendly and professional staff. The room was very clean. You can tell it has been renovated so the decor is very up-to-date and modern.

Breakfast was a health hazard. Children were digging into the food -- including the cheese -- with their bare hands. Staff had to be told to remove it. That should never require a guest to intervene. The situation ultimately required police involvement. Embassy Suites on Rockside Road failed on every level -- guest safety, sanitation, and basic order. For our Ohio-leg of our journey, we chose this…read moreIndependence Comfort Inn for its proximity to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the attraction we were in town to see. This Comfort Inn is ideally located for anyone coming to the National Park. It sits close to the north entrance, less than ten minutes from the northern visitor center, with most main features of the large park less than a half hour drive away. On one of our days here, our outdoor activities were rained out. We impromptu-decided to go to the Cleveland Museum of Art instead, which we were happy to discover was only about a 25 minute drive from this hotel. So Cleveland city attractions are reasonable drive from here too, if you are in the area for that reason. Regarding the hotel itself, we had a good experience here. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities were bright and clean. Our room was a standard Double/Double. The room wasn't huge, but spacious enough for our fam' of four. The bathroom had a large glass shower. The shower door was heavy and didn't slide easy. But the shower itself was clean and hot. This Comfort Inn has a nice seasonal outdoor pool that our kids enjoyed very much during the hot days of our trip. Another nice feature of this Comfort Inn is they sell alcohol at the front desk, something I haven't seen at many other Choice locations. Single-serve wines, bottles of beer, and an assortment of liquor minis ran about $4 each. One qualm about this hotel is there doesn't appear to be any Queen/Queen rooms available at all. We are longtime Choice Privileges loyalty club members, and I picked this location for the pool and proximity to our attractions of interest. But a double-bed is a hard sell for the hubbs and I, as we both like to splay out like frogs when we sleep, haha. It's too bad they don't have any Queen/Queen options for families here. Overall we were pleased with this Comfort Inn. It is a two-minute drive to many dining options, both sit-down and drive-thru, and in a great location for visiting tourist destinations in the Cleveland area, particularly the National Park. I would stay here again, especially in the summer when the kids can enjoy the nice outdoor pool area.

I stayed here while spending a three day weekend exploring Cuyahoga Valley National Park. While my…read moreroom itself was fine, other things ended up making my stay less than ideal. Even before my stay started there were signs that it would not be peaceful. The check-in process did not go smoothly, both because the staff did a terrible job telling me what they needed (example: they did a bad job communicating when they needed my signature in multiple places on a form) and also because there was loud music playing directly overhead during the entire process. It was a frustrating welcome to the hotel. The room itself was fine - very average. Typical uncomfy king sized bed (as I loooooove a soft bed), typical crappy pillows (seriously why are they always thin to the point of being flat?), and the typical accommodations from a desk to a dresser to a TV to a fridge. The bathroom was small (just big enough for the shower and toilet) and the sink was set up outside of the bathroom itself. This wasn't a problem for me since I was traveling alone, but I can see this making it more annoying to get ready in the morning if you're in a group (since it's nice to have counter space in the shower area to set down clothes, makeup, etc.). There was no housekeeping while I stayed here, which stuck out to me since I couldn't even find a placard to put on the door saying no housekeeping was needed in my case. I have no idea what the policy is and what that means for folks who do like daily housekeeping services. I opted to skip the free breakfast...better to pay for decent food elsewhere than settle for bad free food, in my opinion. Getting in and out of this hotel was just a pain. There's only one road in, and then when you drive out you're forced to wind around a restaurant across from the hotel and drive down to another road entirely. The true dealbreaker, however, is that this hotel seemingly has zero soundproofing. During one of my two nights here, the pitter patter of little feet in the room above me woke me up. And the pitter pattering never stopped. I have no idea what was going on in that room, but it seems like someone's kid got the zoomies at 1:00am and they never settled back down. It didn't get better after sunrise, when even louder footsteps in the room above me (presumably as they all packed up) guaranteed that my morning was not a peaceful one. The only reason I got any sleep that night was because I always travel with earplugs. But if it takes earplugs to get some rest in a hotel, then your hotel has completely failed to deliver on its most basic service: providing a place to sleep and rest while we travel. You probably guessed by now that I won't be back, and the next time I'm in the area my priority will be finding a different place where I can get a proper night's sleep!

I had been driving for a few hours and my body started telling me I needed to get off the road . I…read morechecked the area and read the Yelp reviews and decided that I wanted to stay at the Hilton here . Unfortunately for me when I arrived they were booked as it was a Friday night . I saw the two star rating and expected the worst but this was the only place I could find with availability. All I needed was a shower and a bed... how bad could it be? Terrible. Even their current two star rating is too high. The entire place reeked of weed. It was so overpowering I had a headache within 20 minutes of being in the room. I opened the window, put on the AC, lit a candle AND sprayed air freshener. The room was incredibly musty and dirty and my shoes were sticking to the tiled floor in the room when I came in. It was absolutely disgusting. There were streaks all over the mirrors, sticky spots on the floor, dust flying off the vents, ugh. They charged an additional $25 pet fee on top of the price of the room cost which is standard but this room wasn't worth $25 itself. The "Wi-Fi" is insecure and basically non existent. It's so slow I had to use my own data just to check in on Yelp and even when it does work for a second or two it kicks you off every few minutes and you have to sign in again. It's not worth it. I have up and decided to shower and go to bed so I could leave early but there was no soap in the room. There was one small shampoo sample and a lotion sample. Luckily I travel with my own hygiene products but it's still disgusting to me that people are getting rooms with no soap in them. The shower was horrible of course, zero water pressure and a strange texture on the bottom of the tub that was kind of slimy like if they had resurfaced the tub but not done a good job. And the cherry on top was getting to dry off with a tiny hand towel because the actual towel they gave me clearly had someone's makeup wiped off on it (See photo) and I didn't want to dry myself with someone else's used to towel. The bed was oddly uncomfortable, there was a hard section on the outer right edge, so I kind of rolled into the middle and I was able to fall asleep. Unfortunately that only lasted an hour or two and then around 12:30 a.m. I was awoken by at keast a half dozen people in the back parking lot playing music and smoking so much weed it was coming through the cosed window for hours. By 2 a.m. they were gone and I did fall back asleep but believe me, the minute I woke up, all I wanted to do was leave. I walked right past the "breakfast" which consisted of some old bagels and cereal dispensers (absolutely no hot food) and got out of there. Believe the reviews! Sleep in your car if you have to.

Upon me entering the hotel I was somewhat greeted by Brittany who never followed the 15/5 rule. Brittany asked? "What brings you in today?" I replied by saying "It's my son's 15th birthday and we decided to come here as a family with a few friends to celebrate." Brittany replied by saying "Well don't leave him alone". I was caught completely off guard and I said, "Of course I wouldn't leave him alone." Brittany's statement bothered me so much that when I went to the room to take our belongings, I expressed my concerns to my daughter that I was offended and needed to say something. I went to the lobby and told Brittany that I was offended by her statement of me leaving my child alone. Brittany says, "well people do it all the time!" This was very offensive also as just because "people" do it does not mean it is ok for you to judge and think that I will also. A few hours pass and we go to dinner for my son's birthday celebration in Westlake Ohio which is about a 45 minute commute to the hotel. My daughter who is 20 decided to leave and head back to the hotel with my son and his friend. I stayed back to wait for boxes and my tab and said that I would be headed back soon. As I am in route to the hotel from dinner, I get a call from my daughter who at this time had been back to the hotel for maybe 20 minutes. My daughter Layviell says "Brittany sent the security guard to the room because you left your ID at the front desk." I call Brittany at the front desk to tell her I am in route and as soon as she answers she says "hello?" (Improper). I say "hello???" (Is this Residence Inn?). Brittany proceeds to say "You have to come get your ID!....See this is what I was talking about!!! You left your son unattended!!!!" I proceed by saying "How did I leave my son unattended and my daughter is an adult?" Brittany says, "Well I am calling the police." (My reservation was for 4 children and 2 adults in which 1 adult and 4 children were in the hotel room during this time.) Once Brittany told me that police were headed to my young adults who are again 20 and 15 years of age. I began to speed to try to get to the hotel because I am scared at this point not knowing how this situation is going to go because my children have never had to be in a situation to this capacity with police officers. The police got there before me of course and made my children very uncomfortable and nervous. Everyone was escorted out of the room by the time I arrived. I go to the front desk and ask to speak with Brittany and was immediately told that Brittany was no longer there. Brittany was Indeed there and hiding in the back room. My boyfriend and I asked Phyllis, John and the security guard what was the reason for us being evicted and they all said they had no clue. I am not sure how someone is evicted with no reason. Brittany made fictitious police report due to her being coerced to act out someone's prejudices and/or her own personal bias. Brittany was nasty from the time I entered until the time she had me removed. Brittany ruined my son's 15th birthday and made this such a traumatic experience for all of us. Caused so much stress and anxiety within those few hours. Due to us being removed with no explanation I decided to go back on 12/9 to get my questions answered, my concerns heard and to ask when I would receive a refund. Upon my entrance Brittany refused to service me by locking the doors to the lobby. I immediately picked up the phone and she answered. I asked why she locked the door as I only wanted answers to the questions that I had. Brittany proceeded to say, "This is not Brittany this is Tiffany." I asked, "So why are you locking the door?". Brittany then acts like the phone is out of order and proceeds to hang up. Since this situation occurred, I have reached out to Marriott's customer service and have not able to talk to anyone with any resolve. I also spoke with General manager Anthony who said that he would call me back and have not heard back from him either as my concerns continue to go unheard. I finally received an email back stating that the general manager said we were evicted due to smoking, a party going on in room and me leaving children left unattended. There was no party as there were less people than my reservation stated and there were no children left unattended as my daughter is 20 years old. This situation saddens me that it is ok for Marriott and their employees to mistreat loyal customers. I am currently in process of filing federal complaint. My son is now deceased and that was his last bday and this is the memory that we have left on the last memorable bday.
