Side note: I happened to be in town to compete in a triathlon. After the race I arrived back at the hotel dirty, exhausted, and also 10 minutes before check out time. The front desk receptionist took one look at me and extended my check out 'as long as I needed'. I only took an extra hour but I didn't have to drive back to LA a stinky, sweaty mess. Much quieter than the Santa Ana location which is one of the reasons I won't go back there but the clientele was iffy and the side doors were constantly prompted open which left a very unsafe entry. Worst hotel ever, the front desk lady Sarah is the worst, we talked on 11:45am, May 3/2023. Everyone be aware, please don't come here and NEVER come here. I book reservations from May1-May7. Because the highway is extremely noisy and the window is not blocking any noise, I wanted to check out early on May3. Sarah said it's prepaid so they can not refund the rest. THEY CAN NOT REFUND THE REST UNUSED NIGHTS?????? Sarah said it's because it's "prepaid", but then I asked Priceline, Priceline said they already transfer the money to hotel, so hotel is the one that already get the money, but they still don't refund any UNUSED nights!!! extremely ridiculous!!! by the way, there are plenty rooms available, not even occupied. This hotel was very clean, well-decorated, in a safe location and close to many local attractions. The staff members were quite friendly, as well, especially Jericho at the front desk. Two downsides: the restaurant was overpriced, with the tab for our standard breakfasts and 2 coffee drinks coming to $40+, and the location of our room definitely could have been better. The hotel was not nearly full but we were placed in a room with a terrible view of the roof with trash near the drain and the freeway, and above the pool where we could hear all of the noise but not see it. As a couple celebrating an anniversary, having kids across the hall wasn't great, either. Maybe this was punishment for booking through Orbitz? We'd consider staying here again, but would make sure we had a better room location and would eat and drink elsewhere. read more

I am very frustrated with Marriott. The ADA room we reserved only means it has grab bars but it doesn't have a roll in shower. They only have one roll in shower out of 156 rooms and someone else is in it. I am an amputee and I need a roll in shower. However, they looked around and they did come through and they found a shower seat for me which I appreciate. The hotel is clean and in a good location. read more

This is a typical Courtyard with their updated lobby and Starbucks in the lobby (Hooray!). Rooms are clean and have a fridge and a humongous TV. Location is key for me as my client is about 5 minutes away and there are good dining choices within walking distance. Their fitness center is large and well equipped. Now the negatives. Nice TV plenty of viewing options, where is the friggen channel guide? Having small face clothes, in the fitness center, as work out towels is a joke at best. More importantly there was no disinfectant available to clean the Equip. Basically your fitness center is a germ breeding ground. With that being said I would stay here again based on location. read more

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in May 2019 for 2 nights and enjoyed my stay. The hotel is located in an office building area, with a few restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has a pool, jacuzzi, mini-mart, large comfortable lobby, ATM, a business center with 2 computers and a printer. There is a Starbucks in the lobby that serves breakfast. There is also a small Life Fitness gym, which had broken televisions on the equipment. The room was medium in size, it was clean and well maintained. There is a desk and chair, love seat, refrigerator, coffee maker, limited drawer space. There is a flat screen HD television with lots of cable channels. There is no safe in the room. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom is medium in size, clean, and well maintained. There is a large counter-top. Everything is in one room; shower/tub, toilet, and sink. Great place to stay. My surroundings were very neat and clean. All staff and employees were nice and friendly. The area is amazing, alot of great food places within walking distance, a Starbucks, Wahoo, Thai food and a few other great places in the area. Amazing shopping centers up the street for convenient shopping or places to eat as well as entertainment such as a movie theater. There are alot of businesses close by as well. read more

We stopped in from Vegas where we stayed at treasure island on the strip. My wife tells me she likes this place better than treasure island. I agree. Customer service was excellent. Our fridge wasn't working so we told the front desk and immediately they replaced it. One of the drawers where they keep the linen for the fold out bed was broken and when my wife pulled the drawer out, it fell on her foot. That was probably the worst thing. Atmosphere here is great. Everything looks new. They've got computers in the lobby area that you can use for free. Wifi is free here as of now. Fitness room is going through renovations so they set up a temp fitness room in two adjoined rooms. Kinda weird, but at least they didn't just close it down. Restrooms in the lobby are going through renovations. So they give you a key to a room if you need to use the restroom in the lobby area. Weird. Pool and spa are new and look nice. Pool and outside area are nicely decorated. You can wash and dry your laundry in their laundry room. They have 1 washer and 1 dryer. 4 quarters will operate them. The cycle is 30 minutes, and the detergent is complimentary. Just ask the front desk. Food: it's okay, but there are more food places around. No free continental breakfast here. Very bad service. I waited one hour at the front desk while they looked for my booking. Smaller beds than what was paid for. The staff said I had a noise complaint the night before, but it was only my first night there. I didn't have to stay both nights I paid for because of how I was treated. read more

We stayed at this hotel from March 29 through April 2nd and had a great experience. We usually stay at the Courtyard by John Wayne, but this one was cheaper. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, no noise at all. Staff was polite and accommodating. There was no more conditioner in the bathroom so we called and there was someone at our door not even 5 minutes later giving us more. We usually go out to Huntington Beach, so my only "complaint" is that it's quite a drive since this hotel is tucked away. But that's nothing. Great area, too. Nice and quiet surrounded by restaurants and shopping areas just a short drive away. There's a lot of parking (and it's free!). Our room faced the freeway, but we experienced no noise at all. We had our 9 month old with us, so I was unsure about facing the freeway, but couldn't hear a thing. read more

The experience was filled with the answer "I don't know" and "I'm sorry" The welcome screen monitor in the lobby and the in room property description indicates a 24 hour Starbucks; not the case, they apologized for the wrong info. Asked for plastic eating utensils that were supposed to be in the "store" and there weren't any and response was "someone should have restocked it", instead of an alternative. Again, they were sorry. Asked why our room was the only room with a balcony light on - and if we could please turn off, they didn't know but we're sorry. Asked if we could get another chair on our balcony just as each of the other balcony rooms had two chairs- they didn't know and they were sorry. Asked if we could take food/ drink pool side, and they didn't know. No one offered alternatives to finding out but were apologetic. read more

BED BUGS and no response from management. On Sept 4-5, my boys and i spent the night at your hotel. A week later, my Autistic son had bites all over him. I thought it was possibly a mosquito in his room or possibly fleas from our dog. our dog is on flea medicine, but i gave him a flea dip just in case. I sprayed some bug spray around his bed and vacuumed thoroughly, just to be safe. A few days later, more bites. I located three bed bugs on my sons bed. Upon further investigation, I located a small nest of the under the box spring. They have also crept under my carpeting by the bed. New mattress and box spring ($1,100) Terminix service ($1,900), flooring in bedroom ($500). My son also is terrified of hotels now. This also puts a damper on Christmas spending as well. To be clear, I work from home. The boys and I only stayed at a hotel twice this summer. Both stays were at marriott properties. I am pretty convinced that we got bed bugs from our stay earlier this month. With COVID, we go nowhere, literally. All hotels have bedbugs, somewhere in the hotel. They travel from room to room, through the walls and on maid carts. Hotels have a duty of care, to their customers. Typically, housekeeping does visual inspections to alert the manager to bed bugs. The housekeeper who cleaned my room prior to arrival missed a few things in the room, including a bag in the ice bucket (which the front desk provided) a condom wrapper on the floor by the nightstand and a piece of toilet tissue on the floor of the bathroom. It is highly likely that the housekeeper's bed bug inspection was also not done well. As of today, the corporate customer service department has responded to two of my emails, indicating that the hotel would contact me. I am still waiting. read more

I was adequately satisfied with this hotel. The front desk staff was very nice and accommodating (aside from one guy refusing to let me have a cup from the Starbucks restaurant at 11pm because I hadn't purchased a drink from the hours-long closed Starbucks). For the price point, the rooms were acceptable (although they overbooked and tried to put me in a handicapped room with a flood-prone shower-bathroom on the first floor). This would've been a solid 4/5* experience. What I couldn't forgive was that I prepaid my hotel weeks in advance via Last Minute Travel, and then they had the audacity to charge me once again for the exact same rooms upon checkout. So much for my credit card on file only being used only for incidentals! How is it in 2019 a hotel chain has received my digital confirmation of booking, yet doesn't know I've already prepaid my stay? This is preposterous. I am now in the 8-week long process of disputing this charge via my credit card due to this Marriott's total negligence. Had I not reviewed my credit card bill thoroughly I may have paid them an extra $379. Shame on you. I've had this happen to me before at Marriott chains, and I genuinely hope Marriott gets litigated into the ground over this business practice. Why would you charge me again for the rooms I've already prepaid? How much money have you pocketed over the years through this illegal business practice? Shame on you. read more

Utterly disappointed of the management and HR at this courtyard, my husband and I witness a house keeping manager (betty, if i remember correctly) physically and emotionally abusing one of her staff members a year and a half ago (in our room); we proceed to report the incident to both the HR and management. To my surprise she was STILL working there (4th of July weekend). I will NEVER stay at another Marriott again, it's a shame that such an amazing company would stand behind this and not investigate further into this matter or at least have her suspended (I know this because they never contacted me for written statement.) read more

Very unhappy with my stay. This hotel has no breakfast. I woke up today here with a smell of smoke and it's been smoky in the air. Their personnel went to the room and confirmed it and told the front desk. I went to the front desk and she even blamed me that the it's because I turned on the fan and it sucked the air from outside my room. That I should just turn on AC. I also like how there are shops or quick snack, coffee and meals right next to the hotel. I really enjoyed this property when I was in town recently. My family is spread out all along Southern California and this was a nice halfway point. It's in an industrial part of town with lots of business that make it quiet and peaceful at night. I had a view of Saddleback Mountains from my room and even though they brew Starbucks coffee in the lobby bistro, there is a real one in the same parking lot which I took advantage of almost every morning I was there. This was a rare trip without my husband and I loved taking up an entire king sized bed to myself each night. I slept like a rock! My only gripe about the room was no food network or cooking channel (shame on you Marriott), but! They do have HGTV so all was not lost. The maids were kind but hit or miss with consistency. The first day I got there my room was clean but the trash bin hadn't been emptied near the desk area. My room was only cleaned once during my 3 night stay, but I keep my room tidy and reuse my towels anyway so it didn't bother me all that much. I did have to call the front desk when I was about to shower and noticed they had restocked my bathroom with three shower gels and no shampoo or conditioner. They were apologetic about it though and sent someone up within minutes so it was fine. The staff here were really great. One evening before bed I grabbed a large bottle of Aquafina from their market area and proceeded to try and open it while making my hand raw for the next 20 minutes in my room. Seriously, why are those so difficult?! I sulked my embarrassed self down to the front desk for assistance and to my relief he just laughed and said in the few months he has worked there that's happened multiple times. Thank god! I felt a little less like an idiot and thought he was very sweet to assure me it wasn't just me. Just a note Marriott, get easier to open waters! read more

We decided we needed a little vacation away from the drab San Fernando Valley. So, on Saturday morning, I looked on Priceline and scored a room at the Courtyard in Foothill Ranch. At first, I was a little disappointed in that this hotel isnt really close to the Irvine Spectrum, yet it is part of the hotel name. Relaxation was the main goal, so we didnt complain much. I must first add that we smuggled out small dog into the hotel with us. I knew before hand that they hotel did not allow dogs, but our dog is well behaved and doesnt bark or chew, so I had no problem with stuffing him in a jacket and sneaking him in. We were booking in a lovely king bed room on the fourth floor with a balcony overlooking the pool. The weekend was absolutely gorgeous, so the balcony was great for us to lay out on and bask in the sun. We got in later in the afternoon and were pretty hungry early on. This hotel is great because there is a Round Table Pizza and a Starbucks in the parking lot. We ordered Round Table delivery and had our food in 30 minutes. We slept fantastic in the large, comfortable bed. It was probably the most relaxed we have been in some time. The only thing, which was not at all the hotel's fault is that it was daylight savings time, so we lost an hour of sleep. So, when we finally woke up, we only had an hour and a half til check out and we hadnt even enjoyed the pool area. A quick call to the front desk and we were given a late check out and time to enjoy the heated pool. Checkout was simple and easy. read more

My family and I just stayed here recently and we had the an amazing time. Clean rooms, staff was outstanding. They went above and beyond for us. We travel quite a bit, and this hotel was great. Everything we needed and more for our short stay. We have two toddlers and they also enjoyed themselves. We were on our way to the hotel and had to call to request a few things before we get there and Chris talked to my husband and went above and beyond for us. As well as Will Hemphill and Tracie Roane at the front desk. So kind and any question I had was answered. Requested a baby bassinet sent up so fast. Next time we stay we definitely want to check out there pool! Definitely would stay here again and would recommend to anyone needing to stay in the area! read more

There were about 10 other families waiting in the waiting room to get into their room and they said they were cleaning the rooms and it took longer bc if covid. I asked why isn't that the way you clean the rooms all the time? The front desk couldn't answer, they just kept saying bc of covid. The rooms should be deep cleaned all the time, pandemic or not. We waited 4 hours and decided to get a refund. Worst experience ever. I do not recommend staying here at all. The are many better options around that are cleaner. Internet was nice and strong in the room and wandering around the property. My only complaint is the sound of the neighboring rooms shower. It's pretty loud. If you're staying next to a 3am shower person it could be bothersome. I only heard my neighbor in the morning so it wasn't a big deal. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking in the area. Nice hotel. The rooms were big and the beds and pillows were comfortable. There's not much going on in this part of town, but there is a small pool. The breakfast buffet is pretty good, but it isn't included in the price, so it'll set you back another $15 a person. FYI: The map on Yelp is wrong. For the first time ever, my husband and I did not stay at my parents' house this last visit. My brother's wedding called in all the extended family from Minnesota to Washington and there was no room in the inn, so to speak. My mom got a block of rooms at this Courtyard Marriott because it is two exits off the 241 toll road from their house in RSM. Very convenient but that 's about all, and honestly that's all we needed since we spent so much time away from the room. The front desk staff was friendly and even tried to give us a room with a view of Saddleback Mountain, which is impossible without getting a view of the busy street below, but he was sweet for trying. Also when I called for a reservation we were given a $20 Target gift card just because. I'll take it! We didn't get breakfast because that's just silly at $15/person for a buffet but there is a Starbucks in the same parking lot which was great for me who always gets up early and my hubby who likes to sleep. If we were banished from staying in my parents guest room again, I would stay here again. If only for proximity however. read more

What once was a consideration has now become a destination. I am a loyal Starwood guy - Westin and W in North America, and Sheraton overseas. Been Plantinum @ SPG for 5 years now. Last month, I started working with a customer that required me to travel from SF to Foothill Ranch 2-3 days per week for work. The client asked that we stay at this Courtyard by Marriott, given its proximity to their HQ and their negotiated special ($79) rate. Of course, I was not thrilled, and immediately began to see whether there was a SPG hotel closer than the Westin South Coast Plaza. There isn't, so I decided to just bite the bullet. Now, I won't consider staying anywhere else when coming to the area. Don't get me wrong; this is not a tony, luxury hotel by any stretch of the imagination - but for a weekday business traveler - even one used to being coddled a fair amount - this place really fits the bill. Why I love it: * Breakfast bar serves up great eggs and other simple stuff quickly and well, and without the typical "that's not on the menu" attitude. I get my 3 eggs over-medium with a lightly toasted wheat bagel and it's all good. * Lobby computers and printers are faster than any workstations I've ever used anywhere else - home or work or other lodging. It took me less than 45 seconds to log into the system, pull up a browser, log into my email, pull up a 15-page PDF attachment, and print it. At work, that would be like a 3-minute process. * Housekeeping does a really delicately neat job. Little things like arraying my toiletries on a washcloth and leaving my "organized but messy" pile of stuff on the ground alone. * The fan (at least in all the rooms I've gotten) stays ON and working well if you set it to ON. I have never had a consistent experience with this in just about any hotel. Normally there is some weirdness like a rattling noise; an unprompted shift from ON to AUTO that causes it to turn on/off/on/off in the middle of the night and wake me up or make the room too hot; or just a difficulty in using it. * Service with a smile - I have had to send faxes, get restaurant recommendations, and other help from the staff - and they are super knowledgeable and friendly - very approachable * It actually feels like a 'place to be' - constant gatherings of different types of people in the lobby for meetings or just meet-ups or hanging out. Feels like a college-dorm-meets-suburban-bar kind of thing. Not that this makes it cool, but for a place like this, it feels really welcoming to find that when you walk in. Of course, they could do things better - the elevators are old and slow, and most of the snacks for sale in the lobby have HFCS. But all things considered, I would recommend this place to anyone coming to Foothill Ranch for a day or a week or more. read more

I am picky about hotels. Things that irritate me the most are showers that are gross or hard to figure out, sticky carpet and windows that wont actually open. Well, here I am, in a clean bed with such comfortable mattress, a giant LG TV, a large window, open to let the fresh air in. Everything is clean, very clean. Well appointed and nice. I had a great workout in the well equipped fitness room, then took a lovely swim in a refreshing pool and sat in a deep hot tub. All of this after checking in, being given top notch treatment by a gentleman named Alex at the front desk, then arriving to a very nice QUIET room, so clean. SO very clean. Then, time to work and finding easy internet access, had a great teleconference with my work team and all from a great chair at a fine desk. Plenty of conveniently placed outlets, a cold refrigerator, again--clean! Quiet air conditioner, easy to operate thermostat. After a great swim, into the clean clean shower, which was very simple to figure out and supplied plenty hot water with lots of water pressure. I am well pleased with the color palate in the room. There are quite a few restaurants right out the door here. One of which has fish tacos that were quite the tasty lunch! read more

I have nerve damage to both feet which makes it very hard to get around. I checked in on Nov. 4th, 2019 after a very long day of flights. Kayln welcomed me and was so very nice and helpful getting me a room on the 1st floor. Then, I was limping to an ice machine with Frank Vasquez saw me. He offered to go get the ice for me. On Tue, I called the front desk to ask where the nearest ice machine was. Kayln answered and said that Frank probably would help me. A few minutes later, Frank brought me ice again. The service here is OUTSTANDING every time I visit. Also, Alex is the best bartender I've encountered in my travels. Ryan Fitzpatrick has done a good job. I stayed here during spring break. I'm trying to stay at all the hotels in Lake Forest, since my parents live here and I visit whenever I can. I mention I stayed here during spring break because I had a serious noise issue in my room due to the surrounding rooms. I see in other reviews that noise is rarely a problem, so perhaps it was just my room, or the people around me were just awfully loud. Long story short, sleeping here was quite difficult. The front desk staff gets 5 stars, that's for sure. They were attentive and polite which is always appreciated. No free breakfast though? Come on, that's been a lodging staple since the middle ages. I couldnt tell whether the unit on the wall wanted to freeze or dehydrate me to death, but it tried both with equal vigor. The vents seriously need to be pointed somewhere other than right at the bed! Had to get up and switch the settings or just turn it off quite a bit. My housekeeping lady was very nice as well. read more

Best hotel I've used in the Lake Forest area. The rooms are nice, clean, and spacious. Free internet, large flat screen televisions, couch and coffee tables, coffee makers, large bathroom, and large shower/bathtubs. The building include a pool, gym, and restaurant; which are all not usually available in other local hotels. The employees where kind and helpful and the location was perfect. If you're searching for a place to stay in or near Lake Forest I would highly recommend the Courtyard Marriott over other available local options. read more

Jericho at the front desk is amazing! I check in this weekend for my daughters gymnastics competition. He was so courteous not only when I checked in and wound up getting a second from for my teenagers, but when we misplaced my daughters leotard and left if behind, he was so quick to retrieve it and return it in time for her competition. He even wished her the best of luck as I left the hotel with it in hand. Hospitality at its best! Jericho deserves a raise and a promotion. We love coming to this hotel. So disappointed with our stay. We were in town for a soccer tournament with our girl's team. First we get booked into the wrong room, then they close the pool early evening claiming "regular scheduled maintenance" (on a Saturday night-right!) wouldn't let us use the conference room to watch a movie (even inviting another team that was staying here because they closed the pool) so we had movie in one of our 10 rooms at the hotel (low volume) but still management gave us a hard time and went as far as to call the police because management felt threatened by our 9 year old girls. Hotel lied over and over to us. So disappointed in Marriott (and 4 of us are Elite Members!) Ruined our experience with our girls. read more
