I like their gym and their pool at the Courtyard Marriott near the Irvine spectrum and it's pretty mellow here. You can walk over to the shopping center or they can shuttle you over if you're too lazy lol The front desk staff is very nice and helpful. This is much better than other Courtyard Marriott I've been to that's good news. The café is closed and I don't think they reopen until the morning for coffee and breakfast. read more

Shout out to the amazing staff of the courtyard, Irvine spectrum. We recently had a family getaway vacation for a special occasion, and they their staff made it extra special for us. The attention to detail of our reservations, at the decorations of the hotel, the activities available from the swimming pool, fitness center, ping-pong table, the food and staff at the bistro, the roominess of the rooms, the lobby areas, were to me a pleasant surprise. I personally stayed for two nights, whereas other family members stayed for more than three nights. Just how special is this hotel while we were chatting after breakfast in the bistro the staff came out and gave us a platter of strawberries. How nice was that very attention to detail. There is plenty of parking and EV stations. Super Auden. I totally recommend this hotel if you're in the Irvine area. read more

Full disclosure, I did not stay in this hotel however... I did go into the parking lot and lobby because I needed to use the EV go fast charging station for my electric vehicle in order make it back get home. I had to go into the private parking lot which meant getting a ticket stub at the gate. Now, for fear of having to pay to park there just to charge my car for 45 mins, I reluctantly went to the front desk to tell them my situation. I was so grateful to hear that their policy for people who just need to use the EV go charging station, is to validate their parking ticket so they can leave without having to pay the parking charge. Now that's, hospitality and top-notch customer service right there. Love it. Plus the spacious welcoming lobby was so lovely to be in and walk around. I had a great view of another area where their pool is and a nice Astroturf area with a ping-pong table and a few set ups for the game cornhole. Id definitely stay here the next time I need a hotel in the Irvine California area. read more

My husband and I were gifted a two-night stay for our anniversary while in town visiting family so we can't say a thing about price/value but I can say that the accommodations and service were top-notch. The hotel is clean, smells good and very pleasantly decorated. Check in was easy and everyone we encountered at the front desk during our stay was very nice and helpful. We had a king room with a VERY comfortable bed, nice view of the pool/grass area outside and a wonderful bathroom. Love the walk in shower and how you can turn the water on and adjust the temperature at one end without getting wet from the shower. Shampoo/conditioner/body wash is in the shower in dispensers. The lap pool and hot tub area was very inviting and we spent some time in that hot tub working out all the kinks from the long drive from Arizona. Free cabanas with TVs in them too. The ambiance outdoors is really nice with multiple fire pits and games on the grass. Breakfast was included in our stay and the food was really good and service impeccable. I highly recommend staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Irvine Spectrum. read more

Great hotel! The hotel shares a parcel of land with the Marriott Hotel and a joint driveway. Both hotels have paid parking in their private lots Courtyard is $16 a day for hotel guests I stayed 5 nights in a double queen room. The luggage cart tires needed air so it was really hard to turn a fully loaded cart with near flat tires It had a great bathroom with a large walk in shower with the new drain you can't see It has a frameless large shower door as well One sink with a large counter Modern decor & the front desk staff are helpful A very small fridge, no freezer No microwave Single serve coffee maker, not a kuerig The TV is great and plenty large for the room Samsung and has free HBO and also streaming like Netflix and YouTube you can log into your own account The pool is fantastic, salt, large and clean There are 4 free cabanas first come get them Lots of comfy lounges around the pool and pool towels There's No in room safe which used to be standard at a courtyard A safe is available at front desk Update stayed another 2 nights in a 2 room king suite with a kitchen too & has a microwave The suite also has a kuerig and the standard rooms have just a regular single serve coffeemaker The sofa bed is old style metal frame with thin mattress Horrible! I was surprised it wasn't the newer pullout memory foam type they use at some marriotts and the vacation clubs It's nice having two TVs with the suite and being able to close off the bedroom which is a great large bedroom This hotel has the best AC and thermostat I've had at any hotel in memory This hotel is fantastic Sunday through Friday morning but weekends, especially in summer are full occupancy and it's chaotic. Saturday night the hotel was so full that about 10 vehicles had no parking space & were parked at the entrance door where you normally pull through & double parked in other areas We returned about 11 pm from laguna pageant of masters and there were 3 vehicles circling already with no spaces & my boyfriend had to just get his suitcase and go home. There is no in street parking in this area They only available parking were several handicap spaces of course unused and we couldn't risk a $250 fine We loved this hotel except during the weekend, it was relaxing and clean. Weekends there are too many people A high school water polo team was allowed to literally run Thru the lobby area practically knocking down my 4 year old grandson They were loud & running Thru busy hallways without a care like wild horses set free with Poor and no supervision though I saw their coach ignoring them and talking on his phone. This is probably seasonal. So I've given you the good and the bad about this hotel Overall it's clean quiet Newer with modern facilities and High ceilings & we loved our stay. We stayed in 3 room types over our multiple week stay A standard 2 queen room, and oversized 2 queen room, & a king suite with a separate living room & mini kitchen Only the suite has a microwave oven Over the 3 weeks we were in So CA we stayed at several Marriott hotels and this was our favorite!!! Booked a two night stay for my son a s I after he just came back from a 9 month deployment with the Marines. So we wanted a quiet place with a good pool and no too far from Camp Pendleton. I was super impressed with the front lobby when we came in. Great customer service and very nice lobby. They put us on the 5th floor which was nice. When they say check in at 4pm they really mean it. We got there at 3:15 and were told to come back. A little disappointed because most times hotels will let you in a little early. We really liked the layout of the room. He was super impressed and said one of the nicest hotels he's stayed in. They lost a though when we found long hairs on the walls of the shower. It was very obvious so housekeeping should have noticed IF they cleaned they shower. The pool was awesome. Big and lots of lounge chairs along with umbrellas. I would definitely come back. read more

Stayed two nights and enjoyed my stay. We checked in pretty late at night, around 10:30pm and front desk personal was very nice. We were assigned on the top floor facing the pool. Room was spacious, clean, and modern. There is no room cleaning service due to covid, but you can request towels and anything else you may need and it will promptly be delivered. Did not get a chance to use any of the amenities or restaurant, but it looked good. I'm happy to recommend this hotel to any family or friends for there stay when they are in the area. read more

This was the best hotel stay I have ever had, and I do not say that lightly. The service, the atmosphere, the pool, the jacuzzi and the comfortable beds made this an A++. You can tell by my other reviews that I really have standards when I pay for a hotel. It's really clean and comfortable. There is a big container of water when you need it. Stayed for a birthday celebration, property was easy access, safe parking lot but there is a fee. We checked in around 3:30 pm and was given a room at the same time. We barely saw other guests in the property but there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. I think they did a good job distancing guests on each floor. Room was amazing, I love how clean and simple everything was. Plenty of outlets and charging port as well. Ac was good as well, it cooled the room quickly. Bed was good but the pillows were a little too soft in my opinion. The bathroom was spacious, again everything looked clean and simple but in a good way. Less than 5 minutes of a drive to the irvine spectrum center and would say about 15 minutes if you walk. Costco and walmart is across the street and is less than 5 minutes as well. Will be back, or we will likely stay at another Marriott in the future. read more

I have stayed at this hotel at least a dozen times. It used to be my favorite hotel in the area but after my last couple of stays, I am beginning to look at other options. When the hotel first opened, I was impressed with the front desk staff and how every time I stayed there, I would recognize people from pervious stays. I know COVID has thrown most business a curve ball but the last few times I have stayed, it seems like they have completely different staff. I always request a room that his high up and away from the elevator and when I checked in this time, I was put on the second floor and when I asked if it was close to the elevator, I was told "I don't know, I am still in training". I would think part of the training would be to walk the floors and to see that various types of rooms. On the second day, someone from the Front desk called and asked if there was someone in the room by a different name. When I said no, she confirmed the room number. It made me wonder if the Front Desk had checked someone else into the room. One of my peeves about this hotel is the parking. It runs $16 per night and when you look at the rates on marriott.com, the rate does not include the parking. I am not one for hidden fees and I feel like the practice is deceptive. The Courtyard shares a lot with a Marriott next door which only offers Valet for twice the price which is often more than 10 percent of the room rate. On the positive side, the hotel has a nice workout room and a nice pool. The lobby is roomy with a lot areas to sit. The rooms are nice and have a refrigerator and a coffee maker. I have noticed that on weekends, there are a lot of families staying there for local sporting events. It can get very crowded and very loud. read more

First off... STAFF ARE AMAZING!! You guys are so friendly, helpful, kind and informative. The workers at the bar/ Starbucks and bistro you guys are great! Front desk is outstanding, & housekeeping working as hard as can be. MAHALO! We appreciate the staff helping us in unusually situations like our parking card (room key) LAGS as we exit and enter the parking lot. We had to go back to the front desk to get that fixed. Our TV sometimes glitches.. maybe because of the wifi? but otherwise the rooms are great! Nice and clean.. not the best of the best place but great enough for a quick stay. We had a nice view of the pool and the bathrooms are so nice and modernized. During this time Sept. 12, 2021 the hotel occupancy isn't too busy. A lot of amenities for us to use. A lot of games to play downstairs, pool is not packed, gym is empty and close to the Irvine Spectrum mall. Highly recommend staying at this hotel for a quick get away. We stayed here again to move our daughter into UCI. I'm dropping my stars to between 3.5-4 though. Once again the staff was very nice and everything went smooth as far as check in and check out. The problem was that we were assigned to an accessible hotel room for wheelchairs and people with physical disabilities. The bathroom was especially disappointing. It only had a limited counter/sink space with no underneath cabinet storage so that a wheelchair can fit under the counter. This meant that we would have to take a lot of our toiletries out of the bathroom. It also wasn't as nice and modern as the bathroom we had last year. We totally support having these type of rooms in hotels but kind of wish we didn't get assigned to one. read more

Stayed here the other night and it was a pleasant experience! Check in was quick and easy, thanks to Riley, at the front desk! Riley did a nice job welcoming me to the property along with providing an overview of the hotel. The room itself was quiet, despite being next to the elevator. The property was on the newer side too, built in the last ~5 years. The room was spacious, modern, and featured an HVAC that was minimal with noise. The bathroom itself was also spacious, especially the shower where one end controlled the shower, opposite the actual showerhead that had mediocre water pressure. Towels in the bathroom were towards the economy line... The bed itself was quite comfortable and the Wifi worked flawlessly. The TV had plenty of channels too! The outdoor patio next to the pool was comfortable in the morning for reading with perfect Orange County temperatures! Breakfast from the Bistro was surprisingly decent! The breakfast sandwich had fluffy eggs, bacon, avocado, topped on a crispy Ciabatta roll. Parking is $14/night. read more

Had an opportunity to stay here for a mini getaway before attending the Rams training camp at UC Irvine. It is a smaller, intimate hotel with all the amenities offered at larger hotels. The facility was immaculate from the lobby, pool, fitness area and guest room. They played 80's music by the pool and had ping pong, golf putt and a fire pit nearby. We had dinner and breakfast at the Bistro and the food was phenomenal. Tomato soup and grilled cheese was among the best I've ever tasted! The pool was extremely relaxing and it was nice to recharge even if it was only 20 minutes from home. The Irvine Spectrum is within walking distance and the neighboring Marriott Hotel (not "Courtyard") has a roof top lounge that looked like it had an amazing view. I will definitely make the trek over next time I stay here. Highly recommend! Stayed here over the first weekend of the new year to recharge, relax and renew. Everyone needs a little pick-me-up after the holiday hustle and bustle, myself included. It was a last minute trip, but I loved everything about this hotel! I've stayed at their other locations in the past, but this one has been the best so far! It's located 2 blocks from the Irvine Spectrum mall, which is where I like to do a lot of damage, lol! I walked there and back twice during my stay. The roads were pretty calm and not much going on so it was nice getting a few steps in. The parking fee is $16 per night, but the lot is wide open and kept up pretty well. They also have EV charging stations for those who need it. The staff was extremely attentive from the moment I walked in. Upon entering my room, it was super clean and bright. Everything was in working order except for the USB outlets on both of the nightstands. That was kind of a bummer, but I brought my adapter so no biggie. I did let the staff know, though, and hopefully they will fix them for the next occupants. The bed was nice and clean, and super comfy. I LOVE a huge bed to just relax and unwind in. No bed bugs, yay!! The bathroom didn't have a tub, but I didn't mind it. Shower was clean and included Paul Mitchell products for your use. It was big enough to fit 2 people so you could get your groove on if you wanted to, lol! Just sayin'!! If you forget anything, you can get stuff from the front desk like lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. There's also The Market downstairs near the check in desks where you can buy such items if you so choose. During my stay, I wasn't able to use their gym because it was closed thanks to the rona. I did, however, take advantage of their pool and jacuzzi! The pool is a really good size and no one was there when I went. I absolutely loved the jacuzzi even more! Bigger than most I've seen at a hotel and they even have private cabanas (though they were closed at the times I went). Pool area closes at 8pm, but I stayed and just had a blast hogging it to myself, haha! No one came out to shoo me away, so I just soaked it all in...I think I must have stayed until at least 8:30. It was ahhhhhmazing to say the least, kinda like getting a free massage sitting up against those bubble jets! There's even a cute little putting green next to the pool, behind the fire pit. Lots of seating available to enJOY the double sided fireplace on a chilly evening. If you are in need of some "me time," and want to be near shopping and dining, I highly recommend staying here. It's also near the Los Olivos Marketplace (within walking distance as well), so you have a bunch of options. I can't wait to go back, already planning my next staycay! read more

It's a nice enough hotel. Facilities look good. The staff are good and it has a rooftop bar. This place has a lot going for it. But what the hell is up with the parking! I came to meet up with a friend and it's valet only which is fine because you can get it validated if you make a purchase at their bar or restaurant. Or so I thought. I literally came and met up for all of 30 minutes. So anyway I got us 2 drinks got my ticket validated. And they still charged me $12 what a racket! read more

Stayed here for just one night with my partner. They accommodated my request for a high floor which was very nice, and the front desk was awesome at answering any question I had. I had called the day before to inquire about late check-out and even then they were very sweet. The rooms were super clean and the AC was strong which was nice. I understand that its a nicer hotel so free breakfast is not included but I think for the price it could easily cover it as a separate entity from the bistro breakfast. No room service from what I understood but I may be wrong, you could order from the bistro and pick it up at the lobby. At that point, I would rather order Doordash or uber eats lol. The pool was open until 11 pm and is warm and there is a hot tub! Also think parking is expensive lowkey but again it's a nicer hotel so it's expected. Would easily stay here again tho. There is also a ping pong table and mini golf or whatever it's called downstairs in the courtyard outside the lobby which was pretty cool. read more

We did an overnight trip to Orange County and we loved it here. The front desk was nice and professional and our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We asked for a room that was on the upper floors and we got a great view overlooking the Spectrum mall. Btw, the mall is within walking distance! The price isn't too bad; it's not high end but definitely a little more than a standard budget hotel. We've learned our lesson staying at cheap hotels; they're absolutely not worth it (look at my review for Omni Los Angeles). My only negative would be parking, which is minor. When we got there we only found 2 spots available in the lot. We didn't have anywhere to go in the evening that was far away but I'd be worried if we headed out and couldn't park. But that's really it. Parking is only $16 a night, which is better than most places. If we are ever in Orange County we will definitely consider staying here again! read more

Stayed 3 nights....I was disappointed... On the 2nd night, I left in the morning and came back around 3pm to find the room wasn't cleaned. I told the front desk to clean the room before I left for dinner around 5:00pm. They said the cleaning crew left at 4pm. I said the room was never cleaned. The said they would call the house keeping service. Around 8:30pm, I returned the room to find no cleaning was done. They just put one set of towels on the desk, emptied the trash and put up the comforter, and that was it. I called the front desk. They said they couldn't do the cleaning because the cleaning crew wasn't available. I asked to change the room. No, because rooms were sold out. So, this Courtyard had no cleaning staffs on site with all rooms occupied for the night. Unbelievable. They did not discount the room charge. They gave me a free breakfast of $15.00 or so. Waived parking fees. Next morning, I saw several cleaning staffs chatting. So, the issue seems not labor shortage. It seems poor management. read more

I stayed at this hotel in the middle of a pandemic, July 23-24, 2020. There were sanitizer stations in the lobby and by each elevators in each floor. PARKING SITUATION: First 20 minutes is free. $16 for overnight, whether you're a guest or not. The hotel is close to Irvine Spectrum (an outdoor mall with many restaurant options). The lobby is huge. Since this is an establishment that's focused on large party events and gatherings, there were a lot of tables and chairs in the lobby. It's so many that the front desk was just in a corner. Lol. Check in was easy as usual from a Marriott. I didn't get her name but the front desk officer that helped me was very informative in a way that I never had to ask anything I needed to know. Right of the bat, she said the pool hours, restaurant and bar are closed. She offered me some coffee for the next day. I got a one king bed overlooking the city. You have the option if you want a pool view or a city view. My room was overlooking Irvine Spectrum and Mazda building. The hotel has 8 floors, and I was in the 6th floor which was good enough in terms of view. The first thing I noticed however was the TV turned on which says "Good afternoon, Rainier. Time To Relax" which felt really welcoming and personal. And how did they do that? I never turned it off just because it feels good to receive something personal from them. The room had everything. A sofa bed that's really comfortable! Lamps, lots of lamps! A very spacious office desk. Fridge, the usual. The restroom was nice, the shower was really clean. The room felt small but if you really think about it, it's not really small because of the furnitures. I slept in during the day I needed to check out so I didn't have enough time to get ready to leave so I requested for a late check out. The gentleman working in the front desk was kind and very courteous enough to let me stay until 1pm. I was really thankful for that gentleman. Juan, you're the man! I wish every front desk officer was like you. Thanks for being accommodating and flexible for me. I felt safe staying here because you'd need your keycard to get inside the hotel from the front entrance, not sure about the other entrances if there were. I recommend this establishment. We stayed here on / around New Years Eve. Switched from the other Marriott because this had higher review marks - and glad we did! Rooms: Standard, with great beds. Quiet, even on NYE night. Hotel: Nice perks with the outside area. Features a beautiful fireplace, put-put course and pool. Staff: We had a simple ask to borrow a towel to wipe down outdoor furniture due to recent rain. Helena and Crystal went above and beyond. Asked we give them 10 mins and it would be ready. Imagine our surprise when they showed us to a lovely area in front of the firepit, complete with dry chairs and blankets. Please allow me to preface this situation : my husband and I went to Hive & Honey for dinner at the Marriott Hotel. We accidentally pulled into this Courtyard Marriott parking lot. We realized we parked at the wrong location but it was okay. We were within walking distance. So we head over to Hive & Honey for dinner. After getting to Hive & Honey I asked if parking could be validated for Courtyard Marriott. The host kindly told us "no but most of the time if you call for assistance they'll just buzz you out if you let them know you had dinner at Hive & Honey". Okay, that's fine and my thought is, if we have to pay that's fine too because we parked in the wrong location. Anywho, we're done with dinner and head back to our car. I get to the gate and I did exactly what our host suggested. I buzzed for assistance and said exactly what we were told. Matt the "guest service EXPERT" condescendingly says "you need to put your ticket and card to get out." * laughing it off * I said "okay" and I proceed to inserting my ticket along with my card. ** which at this point a line of cars are behind me ** but their machine would not take my payment. My husband gets out and tries to make payment as well but it didn't work. So I buzz for assistance to let Matt know that it won't take my payment and it won't spit back my parking ticket. Matt then says or what both my husband and I heard "I will send someone out right now" we wait for a couple minutes and see the cars backed up. So we asked the people behind us if we could back out so everyone else can leave. We continued to wait for a couple minutes and my husband buzzed AGAIN and then Matt says " you'll need to come to guest services". Matt being the busy bee that he was at the time had no one at his counter. My husband gave him a rerun of our situation. Matt then asked for our ticket and which my husband reiterated to him AGAIN that the machine took our ticket! He then says " well if you lose your ticket you have to pay the full day parking fee $45" and at this point, I am upset. We said "no we're not paying $45 that's ridiculous. YOUR parking machine took our ticket" mentioning that to Matt several times and he just didn't seem to comprehend what we were saying. Finally he asked for proof of our reservation/receipt at Hive & Honey. He takes a quick gander at this Venmo charge my husband and his friend exchanged for the bill at Hive & Honey. Then proceeds to ask us how long were we parked in the lot. It was less than 2 hours. He then charges my husband the CORRECT amount of $20. This could have simply been an in and out fix but Matt insisted on accusing of us this lost ticket to only end up charging us for the original parking time. He wasted not only his time but also ours. We stay at Marriott quite often during our travels. We love Marriott. And this experience does not speak for all of our others but let me tell you, don't make the mistake of pulling into the wrong lot, don't try to pay at the gate, Matt will accuse you of losing your ticket and this review is solely based on our interaction with Matt the "guest service expert"! read more

I came here to charge my vehicle, and they gave me a hard time. I can tell right away when I walked in that they were racist. I also live in Irvine. I've talked to other drivers who live in the same area, and they said they have no problem coming over here to charge their vehicle. But as soon as I came, they wanted to turn me away. Until I told them about other drivers coming here. Then they gave me an attitude about it and asked how long you are planning on staying here. I just want to charge my car. Most of all, the charging stations in oc is broken or offline. It's ridiculous. How they acted at this hotel is degrading and disgusting behavior. Is this the best Courtyard in Orange County? In California? In the world? I don't know but if you told me it was, I wouldn't disagree. Front desk staff was very friendly. The lobby is enormous and spotless. Everything--the room, the elevators, the hallways, the lobby--felt brand new and was incredibly clean. The location is also an easy walk to the Spectrum, maybe a 5-10 minute, tops. If you need to stay at a hotel, in this area, for a reasonable price, this should be a top contender. read more

Wow! What a wonderful experience we had here! We were attending a company holiday party at the Spectrum, but we didn't want to Uber all the way there and back, we wanted some place nice and close, play it save. Rates were great! Probably just a tad more than what an Uber would have been had we gone to and from home, but oh so worth it to not hassle and to stay in this beautiful hotel. Check in was super friendly and fast, we were given a cozy room that overlooked the city and all the wonderful lights of the Spectrum. Free shuttle (within 2 miles) so we were dropped off at the door of the restaurant and a few hours later we were promptly picked up when we were ready to return. Drivers were fun and cheerful, seemed to really love their job and their employer too! We weren't ready to turn in for the night so we grabbed a few nightcaps at the bar. Holy smokes, this bartender made us feel like we were hanging out with a long lost friend or family! Candice was amazing!! Super friendly but non-intrusive conversation. She listened and she kept up a wonderful friendly banter! We could not have felt more at home, thank you!! I mean really, y'all, this lady is a gem! Our bed was so dang comfortable too, we hit the sack and didn't wake up until the next morning with the sunshine! Clean and SOFT sheets with a cloud-like mattress. We will definitely be back! Plus, we learned that if we are attending a concert at Five Point Amphitheater, it is within the shuttle limits so we'd get door-to-door service for that too! Heck yes!!
