I've been trying to reach Hampton Inn since mid-October through both Expedia's chat feature and the hotel's direct email regarding a cancellation and refund request due to a death in the family. Unfortunately, I have not received any response. As it stands, I'm still obligated to keep this reservation, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this property. Two other local hotels I booked for the same week responded quickly and showed genuine compassion, offering solutions without hesitation. In contrast, Hampton Inn has been completely unresponsive and unwilling to work with me to find a mutually beneficial resolution. I completely understand that policies are in place, but under these circumstances, I believe a compassionate exception is reasonable and would be greatly appreciated. Yet their lack of communication and care is terribly dismissive and has been deeply disappointing.

I do not recommend! In case you didn't know, yelp removes reviews and puts them in a different category called "not recommended". Scroll to the very bottom of this yelp page and click on the link below to read more 1 star reviews. This place is complete mess. You wait upfront until and employees decides to get up from their chair and come to the front. Employees don't want to be at work. Rooms are dirty. Etc. Maybe your experience could be better than mine. However, I do recommend reading all reviews and making an informed decision on if you want to stay here or not.

We had a relaxing evening after attending my daughter's wedding reception nearby. Well worth the money.

Towels were neatly placed on shelves.

We went on a weekend trip to California from Arizona for my granddaughter's birthday and stayed at this location, as we have in the past. However, we found that the attention to detail wasn't the same. The next morning my husband opened his bath towel and found various spots on it so decided to use another one. When I opened my bath towel, there were stains on it as well. Therefore, he called the front desk to request another set and was told that someone would be up soon. We left for the day and after returning we noticed there were no extra sets of towels delivered to our room. We addressed it again at the front counter and the representative apologized and gave us another set of towels. We shouldn't have had to wait for 24 hrs to request at the desk for replacements. Also, the pull-out shelf in the restroom wasn't properly cleaned.

Hilton honor members. Ok, so if it could go wrong here, it did. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry during our stay here. And I needed some time before I wrote this review....... My husband, son and daughter stayed in this hotel from February 25th to March first because we were moving. To start, we checked in at around 1130/12 in the afternoon. The first issue was the door... it was very difficult to open. I had to kick it most of the time. Which I could have dealt with. Upon entering, there were stains on the carpet and stains on the chair. Then we noticed that whoever was in there before us had taken off the smoke detector. My husband is an ex firefighter so he knows how important it is to have one, it's the first thing he looks for. He called down to the front desk and asked to have someone replace it. About an hour or so later we hadn't heard anything about the smoke detector. My husband went downstairs and spoke to the on site manager, her name was Ariel. She explained to him that the maintenance man had gone next door to their sister hotel to pick up a smoke detector and he would be returning shortly. Maintenance showed up without a smoke detector, but took a look saying "oh, it's completely gone". He told my husband he would go get one and be right back. He asked the maintenance guy to come back in about 15 minutes because I had just got in the shower. 30 minutes later he was not back and we went out to grab food with our small children. After coming back we asked if the maintenance guy could come back but we were told he was on break. The guy on the phone told us that he had come back several times. We were gone less than 2 hours. He told us that he would have him come back after he returned. My husband got a phone call on his cell phone from the front desk saying that maintenance had left for the day. He called the cell Phone because our hotel phone wasn't working. Apparently it took so much time for them to get a hold of us that our issue wasn't resolved. Their solution was to switch us room s. We declined, as all 4 of us had already unpacked our things for our long stay at this hotel. And asked if he can just come by the next day. The following day my husband went to work and on his way out asked Ariel what happened with the smoke detector. She gave the same excuse stating he came by several times, but it wasn't within the time frame he gave us. She also said that they called her at home. But obviously nothing was done. I saw maintenance in the hallway later that afternoon and I asked him to come by replace it. He said he would, and that he was working in that hallway that day. I told him I was about to get ready for the day and that I was leaving in the next hour. He said he would come by. He did not. Maybe he thought I was going to find him? I ended up not leaving, and he still did not come by. After my husband got off of work hours later, he also ran into him and we got the smoke detector put in about 30 hours after we complained. Though the likelihood of something happening was slim, something still could have happened, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal to not have one in every room...... I got locked out of the room with my children because of the constant kicking of the door to try to open it. The latch came out and blocked us from entering our room. It took a couple of men to figure out how to open it. But when I went to the front desk it seemed like this had happened before. The woman told me that (I don't know his name and I don't think he was maintenance) an employee knew what to do. Our fridge also didn't work. I had put strawberries in it for our daughter and the next day they had mold on them. If you've ever washed strawberries and left them on the counter while still wet, it happens easily. Obviously it was not cold. The coffee machine was on the left of the tv. I went to use it the next morning after we checked in and didn't understand why it wasn't working. I looked in the back to see if I could see where it was plugged in and it wasn't even plugged in. There were no available plugs anywhere except for the one nearest the bathroom on the floor. I only wanted hot water for my tea, and when I had filled it with water to make it hot, it had lots of nice little floaties in it. Not coffee grounds either. They were too light. We keep getting emails stating that it looks like this hotel has reached out to us and resolved the issue. But no one at all has reached out. As Hilton honor members, we are extremely frustrated with how things have been handled lately. Not just at this hotel, but many of the Hilton hotels, especially Hampton inn. I have attached the email correspondence with Hilton. We have been sent the exact same email. This is how much pride they have in the company. Automated responses to actual customers who have reached out. From March 5th and March 13th.

No, this hotel is definitely not closed!

It was convenient to have a fully equipped kitchenette with a good size refrigerator and microwave oven. Upon check in, we were greeted and welcomed as IHG Rewards members. There was also someone who was asking to be switched rooms because apparently they were having issues with their toilet. Nonetheless staff maintained professional. When we got to our room it was clean and a good size. We also ate breakfast which had a nice variety and a lot of seating in the lobby. The hotel also doesn't charge for parking which is nice and is located close to a various eateries and shops. A few things to improve is definitely the bed. Usually hotel beds are not an issue for me but the bed was not comfy at all or the couch bed. In addition I didn't experience the same toilet issue as mentioned by a previous guest but I could tell the toilet needed some service in our room. In short the water pressure seemed low which caused us to have to flush 2-3 times. Maybe it's an issue overall at this property I don't know. We would stay here again if in the area. The price was also good for being a Staybridge suites.

The refrigerator and freezer did not get cold enough to keep perishables cold enough to safely keep food cold. my husband and I suffered many stomach upset over food that may likely have been rotten or not safely edible and frequently disposed of food that quickly became visibly rotten. I encountered bed bugs on my bed. I encountered large cockroaches that were crawling near and on my food supply that I purchased the night before. In early March 2025 I discovered that the room I was in was next to the trash room that was infrequently cleaned for sticky sugary substances attracted cockroaches and ants. The staff allowed the trash room to be overfilled with trash and allowed sticky fluids to leak out of the trash bags and trash cans onto the floor and adjacent carpet. In late March 2026 I encountered a severe flea infestation and incessant dog barking from 3 of my adjacent neighbors. The elevator was also subject to at least 3 fresh water pipe leakage into the elevator that caused it to become inoperable. From mid-February to November 2025 the bathtub drain back flowed a third to half full with nearly black colored water with small granules. From mid-February to June 2026 the bathroom sink, the kitchen sink, the toilet drains back flowed a half to completely full with nearly black colored water with small granules. From mid-February to June 2026 the bathroom sink frequently overflowed onto the floor about 40+ times and caused a urine and fecal matter odor. The sewer water overflow got into my food supplies that were on the floor and the sewer water flowed out onto the hallway. The stagnant sewer water from the bathroom sink, the kitchen sink, the toilet drains caused a urine and fecal matter stench. I frequently was warned about the sewer backflow when there was a gurgling noise that preceded the sewer water backflow. In August 2025 I discovered that when the tenant's washing machines and the house washing machines were both operating it would backflow white sudsy backflow sewer water. When there were too many tenants showering and taking a bath at 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 P.M. the black colored sewer water backflow often occurred because the sewer water flow exceeded the pipe flow rate. On 6-2-2026, the upstairs bathroom overflowed a lot of water and caused the ceiling to droop and sewer water to leak about 10 to 20 gallons of sewer water from the ceiling onto the center floor of my toilet area and onto the main hallway area outside my room entry door. On 6-18-2026, and 6-20-2026, when I told the upper managers about my intent to complain to the Health Department about the chronic sewer leak problem that had been going on since February 2025 and my demand to refund the money that I paid for that week for their failure to remedy the sewer leak from the bathroom ceiling on to the floor and the main hallway and replacing my personal towels and toiletries they balked and they retaliated against me by towing my camper truck, falsely represented to me that I did not have a parking pass displayed in my truck, that I had too many cars and too much clutter in my cars. After 16 months of parking my camper truck at the ESA Lake Forest location why would management suddenly raise an issue about my camper truck and order me to pay 7 days at a time and not a few days at a time and tell me that I cannot park my camper truck in the ESA parking lot when there are other tenants with even larger campers and very large commercial trucks parked on the parking lot and exempt from the parking restrictions I am subject to by the upper in-house ESA management. I am progressively being retaliated against by the newest in-house management. I have over 200 photos and videos of the flood damage of the chronic sewer water backflow problem and refrigerator defect.
