Everything from check in to check out was wonderful. I was in Houma for one night for a local race, and I arrived around 5:30. It was very convenient to where I needed to be, and it is located right behind the Civic Center, so that would be great if you have an event there. The lobby area is very large with great seating options, and it really has a glam feel to it. Check in was very easy, and the delightful employee made sure I was quickly to my room. I was given complementary water, so that came in handy with hydrating! There is just one elevator on the side were I needed to go, so I suppose that could be an issue if there's large crowds or for busy check in/check out times. My king room was on the 4th floor. The room is very large and was very clean. A large flat screen, mini fridge, coffee set up, and all the other usual items were there. The AC works VERY well, and it did not have that overly damp hotel room feel. I walked around the hotel, and it has a nice indoor and outdoor pool, and large workout room that even has free weights, and some of the rooms even have balconies overlooking the pool. I weighed my nearby restaurant options, but decided to just eat in the hotel bar area (I missed happy hour, but they have some deals during that.) I was a bit shocked at the prices of the food -- VERY affordable. I went back and forth on a few items and, per the sway of the employee there, chose the quesadillas. I was very satisfied and walked out not spending too much on a drink and dinner. I would have spent more if I would have gone off site. Back to my room, it was very quiet all night - nothing woke me up. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the shower worked all as it should. The icing on the cake is a noon check out! I was able to race, attend (and receive) the race award ceremony, go back to to the room to clean up and lie down for a bit, and then head home by 11:30. That is SO convenient when you sweat all morning and have a long drive home. I will absolutely stay here again when my path leads me to Houma in the future! read more

Not outdated, just poorly run. Upon check-in, they initially attempted to displace us in a downgraded room, which wouldn't be a big deal, but we have 4 guests and obviously needed a 2nd bed or pullout to accommodate everyone. Room was dirty upon arrival (drink spills and ring stains on the desk and nightstands), toilet was clogged (gross), and we didn't have blankets or pillows for the pullout. - On day 1, when we went to request blankets and pillows, they only had sheets and a duvet cover (no blanket, no pillows). - On Day 2, when I went to get a pillow the next day, I witnessed another unfortunate guest who was turned away without a pillow (so this is obviously an issue). Simple suggestion, clean your rooms and stock bedding/pillows - you're running a hotel, this is pretty basic and obvious. read more

This courtyard is the best one I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed at probably 10+ around the country. It looks beautiful. The lobby and area around the bistro was beautifully decorated with way more space than what you see in there typically. The room we stayed in was a larger corner room and was absolutely huge. So huge that they need to put a bigger TV in there because there's a good 20-25 feet between the bed and sofa and the TV and the TV is tiny. The pool and hot tub area was beautifully landscaped and had lounge chairs tables and picnic tables with umbrellas. The hot tub needs some work on the tiles, but it seemed to be just an appearance thing. The employees were all great except for one lady in the cafe who said she didn't have time to make us breakfast (yogurt and fruit which was on the menu). There were several conference rooms and a gym. There was an indoor pool but it was not open for use when we were there. The hotel is located next to the civic center and a large public library. If you have small children, just know that the pool and hot tub are both 3.5 feet, not 3 feet. Also, the library has a huge kids section, story time, and a variety of kids activities which are posted online. read more

This hotel is very nice!!!! All the comforts of home. The rooms are excellently decorated, beds are excellent. Pillows are excellent. Had a huge room overlooking the pool with a balcony. VERY nice pool. Its a big pool. The hot tub was nice too. The water was hot and clean. They have a business center thats very nice. Redfish pizza delivers here, highly recommended as they delivered it to us poolside and we ate it outside on the patio. Everything about this hotel is top notch, definetly will stay here again!! I decided to update my review since I have stayed at the hotel many times since my last review. I've used all of the amenities at this point. ( took me long enough ). Starting with the front desk and market area, I find that the front desk staff are always cheerful and helpful each time I've checked in or had a question. The market is well stocked and even has a simple wine selection. The bistro has a wide selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Also Starbucks coffee is offered throughout the day here. ( utilized that many times since the Starbucks in town gets super busy in the mornings) The ballroom area was great for the fundraiser that I attended. We had a bar and full buffet setup along with a dance floor and many tables. The ballroom is huge but can also be divided for smaller events! Off to the pool and hot tub we go. The hot tub is great for relaxing after a long day doing whatever it is you do, for anyone needing assistance into the outdoor pool or the hot tub there is a motorized chair lift to help you into the water. There is an indoor pool as well that is heated. It's situated near the 24 hour gym for your convenience. I've stayed in a few different types of rooms here and each one has been modern and clean. The linens are high quality and this is one of few hotels I don't haul my own pillows to. Great water pressure in the shower too ( a girl needs her water pressure !) I was pleased to find that they offered HBO in all of the rooms. Woot game of thrones! I've stayed here for business and pleasure and when my air conditioner broke 3 hours before guests flew in to stay over for the weekend. We ended up at this hotel away from home and they hotel and the staff made us feel welcome and my crisis was a less stressful thanks to them. read more

Top notch place to stay. It's pretty new, so obviously all of the rooms and facilities are very clean. Rooms offer everything you might need in order to be comfortable on your stay. They have a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, closet space, television wit cable, plenty of outlets and Ethernet hookup as well as wifi, shower/tub combo with assistance bars and bench (a Godsend for my bad leg), business center, fitness center, paid laundry, and pool area. The Bistro is a nice convenience, offering room service, dining options, and a satellite Starbucks. Their lobby also features a full bar and copious seating for meetings, socializing, or just plain relaxing. read more

I stayed at the courtyard two separate times in a two week span. My first room (200) was quite pleasant with a king bed and pull out sofa. I really enjoyed that I could leave through the stairs (but I never figured out how I could walk up the stairs). It was close enough to the elevator to be convenient and far enough that I did not hear any noise. The next time I had a huge suite! King bed, balcony, two tvs, the works! I probably could have thrown a dance party in the room because it was so big. Both beds were very comfortable. There was a Mardi Gras ball going on one night and I didn't hear any noise from the guests. read more

I'd normally give a 4 star review to a clean, comfortable hotel, especially one in a smaller community and that's hosting a small convention. The rooms were spotless and the service was impeccable. The little restaurant in the lobby, albeit pricey, makes a pretty decent French dip even. But here were the deciding factors in lowering the rating. First, the loss of all water in the hotel for a several hour period was bad, but the staff didn't make a real effort to notify the guests. Second, the temperatures in the ballrooms/conference rooms were either beastly hot or frigid enough to hang meat. There was no comfort at all. Finally, the banquet luncheon lived up to every stereotype of a catered luncheon. The "blackened" chicken was merely grilled with an unusual sauce on top and the potatoes could've definitely used both seasoning and additional cooking time. I'll definitely come back, but will come in prepared for temperature fluctuations.... Oh, secret travel tip here. They have both free and paid Wi-Fi. The free will be sufficient for most people's needs.... read more

They didn't call me back so I went down to front desk and told me they were waiting for an email to see if they were allowed to give me another room...seriously!? read more

I really like the way Marriott designed this hotel. The slogan "wandering is encouraged" is spot on. The lobby just begs me to hang out there. The colors will force you to chillax. Staff has been fun and courteous. But alas, there is no way a stay in Houma can be 5 stars. read more

Pleasant staff at the front desk. Great lobby, with plenty of seating. Grab a cup of coffee from the Starbucks located within the hotel and have a seat. The bar area is nice as well, with two large TVs and an entrance leading to the pool area. Nice size rooms. Hotel is only a few years old so everything is still "like new". As far as hotels in Houma go, I would have to assume this is the best or one of the best in town! read more

Love this property! There aren't many decent hotels in our area and this is one of the best. It's right next to the Houma civic center and directly across the street from a McDonald's. Plenty of eating places within in a few miles. Within walking distance of Big Mikes barbecue smokehouse. I always enjoy my stay at this location. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are comfy and always clean. If I had list a negative I'd say the snack shop in the lobby is a bit over priced, but that's the case with almost all decent hotels. Absolutely the WORST Marriott I've ever visited. I can't even give it "0" stars. There were several parties going on (teenagers) and the noise and music was on blast for several hours. We called the front desk four times before we insisted the staff move the teenagers from next door and find the blasting music and have it turned down. This is a hotel NOT a club...smh Who drops teenagers (13-17 yrs old) off at a hotel to party?! I wouldn't recommend this hotel and I really enjoy the Marriott chain...#executivestatus read more

My review is for the Event Services team led by Blane LaCoste. Blane helped me plan our family reunion banquet and everything was perfect. I must admit that I was bit nervous planning an event site unseen from California, but Blane definitely eased my worries. I found Blane to be super-resourceful as well, from advice about decor to set-up and beyond. When the first day of our reunion was predicted to get rained out, Blane went the extra mile to help us find a covered venue for our cook-out even though we were not utilizing the Marriott for that day. Back to the event - the set-up was easy, the food was a hit, the room was lovely, and the service was on point! Staying at the Marriott made everything very convenient and I slept quite comfortably. I would definitely stay here again and the Marriott would be my first choice for hosting any event in Houma. read more

This hotel is GREAT in Houma! I had stayed at the Hampton Inn the last time I was in town and that place is an absolute DUMP... especially when you compare it to this gem! It is one of the new Courtyard concepts which has been built with the customer in mind. You walk in to a couple of kiosks to check in. It's a very personal experience and allows for you to get through quickly. There is a great little cafe which allows you to grab your Starbucks in the morning along with some fruit or a breakfast sandwich. The lobby is adorned with tons of seating area which is great for meeting people or grabbing something to eat there. The rooms are clean, fresh and new! Not to mention the price: I was very happy with the price at this hotel. Worth every penny! The business center was down when I was there but the desk lady allowed me to print from her computer. I will only stay here when I'm in Houma! read more

Nice hotel! They honored my military per diem. The hotel had a refrigerator and microwave which was nice. But on the second night they put about 30 people in the room next to me and they were jumping around, banging on walls, shouting until about 2 or 3 in the morning. I knocked on the wall and they proceeded to knock on my door through the night and into the morning, not ideal. I called front desk but it did not help. Not really the hotels fault, overall a nice hotel. read more

Beautiful property all around. Our room was huge, clean and quiet. The pool area was sparkling and quite refreshing. My husband was impressed with the gym and the staff were all very nice, friendly and professional. The bar area had plenty of TV's and a fantastic bartender, Shana, who made everyone feel welcome. I would have to try really hard to find a negative because I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. Once again, Marriott knocks i out of the park with fantastic Southern Hospitality. read more

I flew in from Houston for business and chose the Courtyard by Marriott Houma due to my company mainly utilizing this property. Upon the next morning I woke up to shower and there was no water supply. I called the front desk and they advised me that they were aware of the issue but had no idea when it would be back to normal operations. I left the hotel and took care of some business then came back three hours later to find out I still have no water supply. I went to the front desk to ask what the status was and I was told that a vendor had been contacted but they weren't sure when they would be arriving to begin working on the issue. I asked that they find me another hotel room nearby so that I could shower and get dressed for my 1PM meeting. The front desk clerk walked to the back and came back to tell me that they could not do such a thing. This is a lie because I personally know someone who worked at this property and they've done it before. I asked to speak to Marissa the manager on duty per the sign at the desk. They then stated she wasn't on site that she was off for the day. That's another strike against this property. As hotel management you should be on site when an issue like this arrives trying to accommodate your guest at all cost. They did get Marissa on the phone and she refused to accommodate me at another property. So I Dusty Lyons have to personally go out and purchase another hotel room just to prepare myself for my job task of the day. I find this completely disrespectful ESPECIALLY to a customer of a repeat company. read more

Arguably the most esthetically pleasing courtyard I have stayed at. Not your typical cookie cutter courtyard this presents more like a full service. The staff was friendly on arrival. I was upgraded to a suite which is always nice (supposed to be required by me being a platinum) but rarely it happens. It was busy downstairs and when I got to my room kids were running around the halls, about 9 at night. Once inside it was pretty quiet and no complaints on the noise front. The beds are a little firm. Tv is a bit small. Overall, a positive experience. I would recommend to anyone needing a hotel in the Houma area. Would return. read more

We stayed at the courtyard by Marriott January 2-4th while visiting family. The hospitality of this hotel is excellent and I highly recommend this hotel. We will stay there again on our next visit.
