While on a work trip, this Courtyard by Marriott was an affordable option for a few nights. I have stayed at a few options around this price point so was not expecting too much. I am actually a big fan of this hotel now and will likely continue staying at Courtyards going forward when looking for hotels at this budget. The room is very spacious and laid out in a way that makes it feel very open. Bathroom is a bit small but is functional and works as you want a bathroom to. There is plenty of room to do a workout in the room and even has a unique side room with a desk and tiny closet area. The biggest downside of this hotel is the gym. It is very barebones and even the dumbbells they have don't have many options for weights and only goes up to 25 lbs. The treadmills and elliptical work though. I do have to give a shout out to Max who works at the front desk. He is very professional and is a pleasure to talk to and see coming back from work. read more

In town for a business event and I am so thankful that I came here for the overnight. Kafi was a huge help. She told me where to find some good food and a good place to have some drinks and have a good time and she was also a great conversationalist herself. And Henry helped me out so much. Really a great guy all around. I had some groceries I had picked up at a specialty store nearby and he helped me keep them frozen overnight. Really appreciate the staff here and had a great time. All 4 of my tires were stolen. A police officer doing his rounds alerted the front desk to the missing tires. When I realized that my tires were missing I contacted the front desk and they pretended that they were unaware. They were not useful. They knew that this happens frequently and did not alert their guests. In addition, they have a roaming security guard who apparently doesn't roam. The from desk refused to put me in another hotel because I booked through a third party. The front desk staff was unequipped to deal with these problems. They were teenagers. They called their manager Emily Taylor who was refused to assist them. Ultimately Emily stopped answering their calls. If you decide to book at this hotel please be careful. read more

Beware! This place has bed bugs. My kids and I stayed at this location in October 2023 and we had bites all over. The last night I chose to be in my car rental and sit at the airport until my flight left early in the morning. I chose to be uncomfortable over getting more bites in that hotel. Was forced to steam all my belongings and wash everything immediately upon arrival at home instead of resting. Their prices are affordable but definitely not worth the few dollars saved. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT BED BUGS!!! read more

Booked two nights here but actually stayed for one since our meetings finished earlier. United may not be everyone's favorite airline but if you ever need to fly for business from SFO to IAH, you will have about eight direct flights daily. The hotel is about 20-30 mins from IAH and Downtown, and is a good location for the Energy Corridor. Not much within walking distance but lots of good restaurants from a short Uber ride. Its a 3 star hotel for me. Positives: * Free and Fast Wifi * Friendly service - I was able to cancel my second night with no penalty by calling evening * Comfy bed and powerful bathroom shower * Lots of charging outlets in the room Areas for Improvements * Toilet needs stronger flush and bathroom sink drains too slowly * Carpeting and floors seem a bit dated read more

Love this place have coming here almost 2 years on the business probably about a dozen times. The rooms are always clean and smell good the beds are comfortable and the cleaning staff does clean them daily. There is a really nice swimming pool and patio area and the gym is pretty well set up. There are a lot of really good restaurants nearby and there is also a gas station minimart across the street if you need any extra items. I might add that the food in the bistro is pretty good as well they have changed the menu a little bit more recently and I like everything. Christina the morning bistro attendant is awesome she serves up some pretty good food the coffee is really good (Starbucks) and she always makes me leave with a smile. Kateri a evening bistro attendant is another great person.Fun to talk to and she will cook you food quickly deliver it to your room if you request it. She makes awesome drinks and just generally cracks me up all the time. The last time I was there they were out of cookies so Kateri baked some up and brought them out to me and they were epic. She also whipped up a really good chicken bacon ranch sandwich for me and it was delicious. Emily I have known the longest and she does a phenomenal job as a manager of the facility. She really goes the extra mile to make sure that you're comfortable and that everything is being done properly. I've seen her and her staff and how way they work together and now understand why this place runs so smoothly. All of the staff here are very nice they they make you feel like you're part of the family. This is a great hotel no need to look anywhere else especially with the staff and the way you're treated from the time you arrive to the time you leave. read more

I reserved a room here by using Hotels.com. I arrived at about 11p and when I woke up at 430a, I found out my truck was STOLEN from right in front of my window. HPD and the Harris County Constables showed up and they were upset! They told me that they have break ins a stolen vehicles here every single day between the all the businesses on that block. HPD asked to complain to management because management will not listen to the police advise of installing cameras on the exterior for customer safety. I was upset and honestly not surprised that business owners would choose greed over customer safety. I installed cameras at my house and pay 15 dollars a month for the 24 hour alert surveillance. So I came imagine why these managers would not install cameras unless they are connected with these thieves and are making money under the table somehow. That's just what my thoughts are about this place and I won't change my mind until cameras are installed all around the exterior of the building . Just do your job! People don't stay in hotels and want to worry about crooks breaking into the vehicles they work so hard to purchase. Mike read more

The room feels and smell clean. Very convenient location for lots of stores that I like to go in Houston center. Easy to use fixtures as well as useful furniture and modern decor, makes you feel relaxed like high rated hotels but most public amenities are closed and lobby & courtyard is empty. Quiet and hardly notice anyone else in the place. Still, a great choice at very reasonable rates right now. read more

Pros: Nice, clean hotel to stay in. Our room's couch turned into another bed. The style/furniture look eloquently modern and updated. Bathroom is a nice size. Smelled like pancakes and waffles when you walk in at night. CONS: The biggest turnoff to staying in a very nice hotel and the pricey pay, is NOT having the standard free continental breakfast and at least some free hot coffee provided in lobby.. They have a Starbucks bistro setup which is cool but no food/hot fresh coffee provided free for guests. So though it smells like you're going to have waffles for breakfast, nope! Maybe it's a strategy to get you to buy from their bistro shop when you wake up hungry lol. Would have rated this place 5 stars had they had the standard experience to staying in a nice hotel. read more

The hotel was easy enough to locate, but the roads leading there isn't that great, especially during traffic hours. It is located on the southern side of I-10 and right at the intersection of Dairy Ashford. It is a little too far to go from 99 and I-10 East, and I sure as heck not going to take Dairy Ashford all the way north from SL, so I took the Beltway and swung back I-10 W to Dairy Ashford, only to miss the rightmost lane to turn into the hotel and had to find my way back because traffic was bad in the morning and those drivers in the right lane probably knew something I didn't. Any way, I was there on business for a Continuous Education course and heard murmurs from other goers this location had seen some flood (from Harvey), or at least had some street flood at the intersection and not being from the area means I don't really know. Ironically, the CE course I was there for was talking about the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The conference room where the meeting was set up is nice and clean enough and have multiple doors to head in and out and also some in the back so not to disrupt the presenter if entering/exiting from the main entrance. I am not sure if it is true or not, most of the CE courses I have been to will have the sponsors provide some coffee, juice, water, snacks to help with these morning sessions, all we got here were ice water dispensers, and I've also heard that it was because this was discussing the program offered by Federal Government, no food items were provided. So, if not the hotel or the government, the contractors hosting the class surely can do something, no? Luckily, there was a bistro right outside the conference room, and I didn't eat much of anything before leaving that day, so during break time, I got a breakfast burrito, figuring it was something really simple, turns out to be approximately $8, but I was hungry/sleepy and didn't really care, but they put it in a box with picante, guacamole, and a fruit cup and it was a pretty hearty burrito. If it were not for the CE course, I probably wouldn't have known about the place. If I remember correctly, the exit wasn't that great either. I was thinking about going back on I-10 and taking the Beltway back, what I should've done is to turn right on the backside and it leads to I-10 E Service, but what I did was turn left so I see Dairy Ashford again to make a left. But I think there were some construction going on that the light for left turn is a Yield on Green at a T-Bone road that makes you watch traffic coming from both directions. We're staying next door at the Holiday Inn, with no power because of the Katy Blizzard of 2021. We came next door to the Courtyard just to warm up, get coffee and charge our phones. No vacancy here. I must commend Jeremy Siemieni (?), the desk clerk, who is a bundle of energy and sunshine. He took pity on us and fixed my husband and me complementary coffee. The room was modern and spacious. We had double beds. The staff were decent with the exception of two ladies we approached when we entered due to no one being at the front desk and we stood there trying to get their attention, basically being ignored, without a "hello" or "someone should be available at the front desk in a minute." Otherwise the bathroom was nice and everything was neat and tidy in the room. They offer the usual in-room amenities, microwave, refrigerator, hot water pot, and iron/ironing board. The tv had an option to sign-in to your Netflix, HBO, or Pandora account, which was nice and then also provided the option to watch showtime for free without a subscription. read more

First impressions are everything especially when traveling! We came into town and this Courtyard was closest to where we had to be. Based off the 85$ night rate it's definitely not one I would have chose bc I'd think there was something wrong. Lol. However, we pull up to what looks like a rehab of a old hotel from the 80's but I didn't judge...We walk in after a long flight and a Guy by the name of "Chris" was working the front desk. It was about 9pm and this dude had enough positive energy to fill a football stadium! He had everyone on the lobby laughing and having a good time. He knew exactly who we were and was expecting us. Secured our rooms EXACTLY how we would've liked WITHOUT ever telling him or Marriott. Because when walking in it was immaculate like a BRAND NEW Courtyard and Chris you guys deserve 5 stars. If the place was just okay, you'd still get it based off Chris!!!! Note to Marriott- Promote this guy, if you don't I'll hire him away from you in a second! He's valued especially in today's world. Called to make a reservation and let them know I was bringing my dog which was a service animal and I would bring her Identification Card as well her paperwork. The gentleman at the front asked me what type of service animal she was because they only allowed "certain types of service animals" to which I let him know I had never been asked that especially because I was going to provide her paperwork. At that point I no longer wanted a reservation at that hotel because regardless of my disability she was there to service me and take care of me in the event I needed her. He let me know of a few "pet friendly hotels" near by but at at point I was already frustrated with the situation. Not sure when the law changed and hotels are able to refuse service animals WITH PROPER IDENTIFICATION but I will no longer be staying at any Marriotts if they are refusing "certain" service animals. read more

Overbooked the hotel. Stayed here the night of our wedding and offered zero apology for overbooking. They changed our reservation from a King suite to a room with two queens. Our reservation was made more than a month ago. I was told that a manager would speak to us in the morning, but received no call. I stayed here for a friend's wedding for 3 nights. I really wanted to give it 3 1/2 stars, but the super comfortable bed saved it. For the most part, the service was quite good, but there was one front desk employee who kind of took things down a notch. They have starbucks available to buy in the morning, and when that food area closes, there's a sign reading, 'have an afternoon coffee craving? Ask the front desk for assistance'. I went to the front desk, and his amazing response was '...it's closed.'. THANKS FRONT DESK DUDE! :D Also, a car was broken into the second night we stayed...right next to the security camera by the door. I had come downstairs for a cigarette in the morning, and noticed a huge pile of glass next to an SUV parked outside. I took down the info on my phone, and walked to the front desk to report it, since I would hate it if I had been the owner. The same front desk guy acted like I was making a scene when I came in and quietly said, 'I want to report a car break-in', ushered me outside, and made me repeat what I'd just said. I offered my phone for the info, he took it down, and didn't even say thank you. So much for being a good Samaritan. Jerk front desk guy aside, everyone else was really nice, wi-fi is free, and our room was very clean. The only other downside to this hotel is that there is virtually nothing to eat nearby...we didn't want to pay $3 for a tiny bag of chips one night, and ended up driving 10 minutes up the road to find a McDonald's... read more

This is an older property and must be a franchise because it is definitely not up to Marriott standards. I am a Marriott Platinum member with over 500 nights in the past 3-1/2 years, so I am familar with Marriott properties. First off, I checked in with confirmation for a suite with two queen beds (here to work on a rent house with my son's help and he may stay a night or two with me). Was informed by desk clerk there were no double queen suites available, only a king bed. "But the suites have fold out couches." Ok, you sleep on it then, toots. So, what I am to do? And what about my confirmation? "Oh, to make up, I'll give you free breakfast." You know what? The Bistro breakfast sucks. And as an earlier reviewer stated, their TV selection also sucks. No Directv like most other Courtyards I've stayed at. And tonight is the season finale of BBQ Pitmasters on Destination USA channel, which they don't offer!!!! Ok, I'm pissed. Then, I do go down to the Bistro to satisfy a sweet tooth, and see a delicious offering advertised on a half wall going into the Bistro. "Oh, I'm sorry, sir. We don't have that, only the picture." I can't eat the GD picture!!! So, what to do but go to bed, call Platinum Rewards in the morning, complain and get 5000 bonus points. I'd rather have Directv, queen beds, and a warm green apple tart with vanilla ice cream. Revised July 9 - After communicating through Marriott Corporate, this hotel was very accomodating and found an acceptable solution to my room problem. And they were very accomodating on a couple of other requests. Raised to three stars, but they still need to upgrade to Directv like most other Courtyards. read more

This might be the only hotel I've ever been to where every single staff member - front desk, cafe, housekeeping and management - went above and beyond to accommodate us. I stayed one night at this hotel. 5 days after my stay, there was a fraudulent charge on my credit card for 2 additional nights.. After calling several times and being sent to voice mail I still had no response for 3 weeks. After a month, I began calling again and the the billing supervisor, Noor Alibraheemi finally spoke with me and was extremely dismissive and called me "Dear" in very sarcastic tones. The charge is still not corrected after trying for over 5 weeks to get the refund. I will never stay at another Marriott, ever. read more

I usually stay at Marriott hotels and am very pleased but this location is my least favorite so far. We stayed for 5 nights. It's great for the solo business traveler staying a night or 2 but the rooms are not comfortable for more than 1 person. Cons: Small bathroom with a shower that leaks all over the floor, dim lighting, no safe and only 2 small dresser drawers. The rooms are not very insulated so you hear lots of noises. I am a Marriott Gold member and no upgrade was offered. Pros: good location, comfortable bed, updated decor and the lobby bar and restaurant is very nice and inviting. The staff is very friendly too. But I wont be returning to this location again. read more

I absolutely agree that some of the staff goes above and beyond to make your stay the best experience possible. The GM and Patrick went above and beyond to rectify a less than ideal experience with a very incompetent receptionist and a multitude of issues in the first 24 hrs of my stay. This hotel is more than meets the eye, upon arrival you may think it is the run of the mill hotel from the outside , however what you find as you enter is a very modern and well decorated lobby and reception area. There is a restaurant that serves very good food ,and the entire hotel is clean and in good repair. What you do not expect is all of the great staff that work there,in the front desk a lovely young woman helped myself and my husband one morning with an issue, which she resolved with excellent customer service, at the bistro which is the hotel restaurant there was another great lady that actually remembered my breakfast preference from the day before, which says alot about the pride these women and men take in their job additionally she was so kind and lastly and especially the ladies that prepare and tidy the rooms. I had an particularly positive experience with a cleaning lady named mrs Theresa. This woman was so thorough and efficient at her job that it encouragesd you to keep the room neater. But what was more important was her warm and helpful manner, I happened to have a bout with my sciatic nerve while on my stay, as I was there with my children and my husband; who was there on business which required he leave daily. So it was me,my children and back pain. Well mrs Theresa noticed that i was in alot of pain, This dear lady actually went of her own accord, and gave me a back thermacare patch and checked in on me the following day. I will not soon forget this lady's kind and caring act . I count it a credit to the courtyard marriot, that they have such wonderful people in their employ. My experience was a positive one in large part due to the staff at the hotel. I am so appreciative of all the wonderful staff there. read more

I have stayed in many, many hotels in the Energy Corridor and Memorial City areas, and this one is by far my favorite. The rooms are modern (unlike most of the hotels in the area) and the perfect size for a business traveler. Plenty of outlets for tablets and phone chargers all over the place. They have roll-out desks so you can eat, watch TV, and work on your laptop at the same time - I haven't seen anything like that before! In the King rooms I've stayed in, they also have a sofa bed that has a laptop stand and outlets - amazing. I've seen some complaints about the size of the bathrooms and I can see how it might be tight for a family, but for 1-2 people it's actually quite spacious. The entire hotel staff is incredibly helpful and friendly - shoutout to the lovely ladies that pour my glass of wine while I'm walking up to the counter :) One time I reserved the wrong type of room by accident and they quickly changed the room and credited me the difference. I have had some great breakfasts and dinners here. Even though the menu is kind of limited, all the food is delicious, made fresh in-house, and there's plenty of variety, including healthy and vegetarian. I will continue to come here whenever for work in the Energy Corridor. I just hope some day I will have time to enjoy the lovely pool! read more

I've only stayed at this hotel for business. The caterers are wonderful and deserve five stars. The evening and afternoon receptionists lack hospitality. They are down right rude. I would have given them one star if not for the caterers and cafe staff. The rooms have been updated but the layout is horrible. It is a maze and may be difficult for families with young big kids and senior citizens. The kept adding wings and to have to hike to rooms. I would only come here for meetings but would not recommend staying here. read more

This is a great place. I was working on a TV production and the crew from out of town stayed here. The lobby is awesome. There's a place to get Starbucks, a restaurant, and the marketplace. The touchscreen smart TV w/ maps & info about local restaurants, shopping, banks etc. I like the different lounge areas, it feels really inviting. The rooms are nice. Doubles are spacious. Nice pool area, weight room, and I've even seen the conference rooms from previous meetings and events. I like this place. It's not far from where I stay but if I ever move and have to visit OR need to recommend a place nearby for family . . . I can count on Courtyard. I stayed here for 2 x 2 weeks in October and November 2013. The hotel is not big, but has a lot of good things: - Friendly and helpful front desk staff, especially Patrick; - Shuttle service within a 4 mile radius - ideal to go to shopping center(s); - Restaurant has a small menu, but good selection and great service; - Reception / restaurant / bar area is modern and open, great to go there for a drink at night; - Rooms are standard, but very clean, spacious and I love the ergonomic char with the desk; - Same day laundry service; - Some choice of restaurants even in walking distance: Beck's Prime burgers & Texas Land and Cattle just across the road, a series of fast food restaurants down the road. And down the road (15 min walk) a Randall's and Walgreen's for your shopping needs. I would definitely come back here next time. read more

I have to write a review for this place because they go so far above and beyond what I think another hotel would do to support the business traveler. On my last trip I was in 11 airports in 3 days and TIRED - and without some of the resources I needed to get ready for a meeting. They got a room for me to have a meeting in and did the set up in 20 minutes, helped me pull together and print exhibits that I had to create on the plane, and lent me office supplies. They also packed up sandwiches for our team of 7 even though they don't make lunch. Also, per the usual everything in my room worked, my bed was comfortable, the food was good and the staff was exceedlingly kind. I don't love traveling for work, but this is the best situation - they make my life easier. read more
