We spent a few days in the area visiting friends. This is a good hotel. They had plenty of parking and most of the people working the desk were friendly. The rooms are a little dated, but they did have a smart TV for us to stream things in the evening. The weird thing was on the second day, housekeeping must have come in. They took all the towels and left none. So when we got back at 930 pm that evening and were going to shower... we had to hunt someone down to get towels. Wasnt a huge deal but it was inconvenient. Very disappointed with our stay. We arrived on time, but our room was not ready, leaving us with nowhere to change before a wedding we were attending. Our transportation was leaving at 4:45 PM, and the delay caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. Hotel staff offered no meaningful solution or accommodation to help us. To make matters worse, I left a message for the manager afterward and never received a return call. Poor customer service, lack of communication, and no accountability made this a very frustrating experience. I expected much better hospitality and would not stay here again. read more

Great news for allergy sufferers. This location is pet-free. My room was extremely clean, and the hotel was quiet. It is easy to access. When comparing it to other Covington area, hotels in the same price range as a Courtyard, this hotel stands out as the best. I used to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Covington for many years, but they became pet-friendly, and I will never stay there again. Recently my wife and I had an extended (5 night) stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Covington and enjoyed it very much. Although remaining Covid precautions were in place and prevented their usual full breakfast, coffee and continental breakfast were available and more than adequate. A well appointed, newly designed exercise room and indoor pool should be back online soon. Although rooms in the past have been reported as somewhat worn, we were some of the first to stay in a newly renovated wing which was sleek, contemporary and stylish. Our room was spacious, our bed was comfortable and the shower large, easily accessible by most, and efficient. The staff was extremely hospitable and helpful. We will recommend Courtyard Marriott in Covington in the future. read more

Specifically, my Federal Government reservation, even though I presented Retired Federal Government Credentials! After a long day of traveling I found this hotel on my way to heading back home. Checked in about 12:30am couldn't wait to shower. I turn the water on and it's discolored and has a weird odor to it. I was so disgusted and didn't want to shower. No manager was on duty at the time: it was just an auditor. I checked out around 11am but before leaving I asked to speak to a manager. I wish I remembered his name but anyways I told him my concern and he said "I'm sorry but what would you like for me to do about it? I appreciate you bringing it up to my attention." As for 1. You are a manager you should have a solution besides saying sorry offer a discount on my stay, add points on to my account I mean why you are you asking the guest? I also let corporate know right away and sent them pics. The response I got from corporate was "advise you to go to the front desk and speak with someone." What kind of response is that. We stayed here a couple of nights... YUCK. The room was "moist", the toilet hadn't been cleaned (inside) in probably 3-4 weeks (my guess). The bed was mushy, too. The hotel is laid out very confusingly, IMHO. But the absolute worst thing was that I felt afraid to breathe because of the ORGANIC GROWTH on the vents of the air conditioning! I tried to clean it, but gave up. The photos attached are AFTER I tried to clean it! I was too tired and needed cleaning supplies to finish the job. This hotel needs a serious refresh. We came in for a wedding that was booked in advance. Almost none of the family was on the same floor or same building. The staff is not very good at their jobs. Breakfast was nine dollars for a reheated egg sandwich and two pieces of fruit. For a family of four breakfast was 30 dollars. The hotel itself was nice and modern. The location is good and near many restaurants and a Walmart. Room service is every three days. It's nice but I found service lacking. AC unit seemed to be barely working. This place is adequate but could be much better. read more

This hotel is fantastic. I'd been driving all day from Texas and couldn't go another minute. I called at the last minute and the warm and friendly lady on the other end said they had a room ready for me and to arrive whenever I wanted to. The room was nicely decorated and very spacious. The bed...ahhhhh. So plush and comfortable. I practically melted into it and slept like a baby, which is rare for me because I don't sleep well in hotels usually. When I woke up the next morning and opened the curtains I was pleasantly surprised by the view. It was of a very pretty lake and a nice inviting balcony. I sat and had coffee there for a few minutes before heading out for the rest of my traveling. But not before I had a shower...which was the icing on the cake. The shower was wonderful with one of those rotating heads and all those great different water settings. Again...ahhhh. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

Room 229 was good, but the bathroom was very dated. The bathtub faucet dripped all night long. There was a stain on the ratty shower curtain. The door handle, looked worn, like a public restroom. The hinges on the door were very rusty. Paint and a few easy updates could make this bathroom go along way! Temp was hard to regulate in the winter, in the room itself. Outside was 50* and rainy, inside felt like 75*, had to turn the AC on and kept getting up to turn it lower and lower. night long. But, the room decor was very nice, clean and beds were comfortable. The manager Darrius Gray went above and beyond to make my stay wonderful! Do to the COVID-19 they don't have a shuttle driver, so he's taken the job of filling in! A new low in travel accommodations. Two to over three hundred dollars a night first of all. To make it worse after our first of two nights here I find Marriott dies or even make up your beds. I also was told they don't issue fresh towels unless you request them. I am appalled that Marriott, a companyy i have been using for decades I am amazed that they let their operation sink so low! They should be ashamed. They just lost me as a loyal customer and I recommend that anyone traveling avoid any Marriott property. read more

This hotel has an old side and a new side. I am staying in the newer side of the hotel. The two hotels only connect on the first floor. Some rooms have balconies, mine does not and after a while the rooms start to smell. I haven't used any of the amenities at this location (gym, room service, Starbucks coffee) because my hours for work are weird. One evening there was a wine tasting in the main lobby, which was very nice. Every morning the front desk gives me a wake up call - and they every remember what time I need to be woken up! The clientele, other than my work colleagues, seem very strange at this location. I wouldn't stay here for more than a night if you were passing through town. read more

The one star is for my amazingly comfortable bed. Otherwise zero stars. I'm 100% certain I stayed here two years ago, but apparently in the twilight zone because this hotel felt completely different this time. I don't remember the conference center or different wings or any of the other things that made it not feel like a Courtyard. I couldn't get the Internet to work (it couldn't verify my name and room number), so I called the front desk... 5 times... over the space of 30 minutes. No answer. In the morning, I had a late checkout until 1pm to work and had the "do not disturb" tag on the door. But right in the middle of my conference call with my boss at 11:45 (15 minutes before normal check out), they banged on the door. I had to excuse myself from the call to answer the door, to find a young woman giggling and saying "oh, sorry, sorry." I asked if she needed something and she giggled and walked away. Later when I checked out and complained at the front desk, it was all excuses - - maybe they were in the bathroom when I called, they thought I left the tag on the door and checked out (why?), they don't speak English, they didn't know you had late checkout (why?) etc. I pointed out that even if they didn't know I had a late checkout, wouldn't the appropriate thing be to honor a DND tag on the door until at least check out time? I mean...isn't that what they're for??? She said they thought I checked out but left the tag on the door. But . . . why? Still, honor the DND tag until you need to go in the room. Plus, the girl who knocked wasn't even a housekeeper, but was an employee, so I'm not sure what she wanted. Bad form all around, made worse by the woman at the front desk badly arguing the reasons with me. Get a better argument, and maybe an apology to go with it. Plus...the hall smelled weird, like someone cooking weird food, and my room had a totally different weird smell. The room seemed old, though I don't think it is very old, and dim. There's a pond in the front of the hotel with geese or something in it and fairly large piles of bird poo EVERYWHERE around the front door, parking lot, yard, etc. Gross, smelly, and surely unsanitary when it gets tracked inside. I've stayed in literally over 100 Marriotts in the past couple of years but I still couldn't figure out the AC. When I called to ask . . . yep, no answer. read more

This place has its ups and downs. Ups- The room is very well decorated. It is a pretty good size and comes with a couch. I very much like the fact that there is a Starbucks in the lobby. The parfait and coffee is good. Downs- Upon arrival, my shampoo and conditioner had black and brown gunk on the outside of it, topped with a piece of someone's hair. The conditioner bottle was yellow (instead of white). There are two closet doors and only one of them opens. I called to have someone come look at it. He kept trying to open it but said it wouldn't open. He asked if I wanted another room. I said it was not necessary if they'd offer a similar room but if he had a nicer room to offer, it would be cool. His response was "I'll see what I can do and get back to you." Now... I know a new room wasn't necessary but the fact that he said he will see what he can do and get back to me... that was upsetting. I stayed in my work clothes and delayed my shower... waiting for him to get back to me... until I realized he was never going to. If I were him, though these things were very minor, I would've offered another room... I mean I am staying here for 3 weeks in a row. Though I very much like the Starbucks (though the menu is extremely limited), the service is extremely slow. It takes the lady a very long time to make a drink. Also, today, I ordered a cinnamon dolce latte because I saw a picture of it next to the register. In the picture, it was a hot drink. What I received was an ice cold drink (and it was 20 degrees this morning). When I asked the lady why it wasn't a hot drink, she said "Yeah I made a hot one yesterday for a customer but today when I was looking at the recipe, it's actually a cold drink!" and I said "Well in the picture it says hot" in which she replied "Well look, the recipe says cold!" So I just drank it and walked away. It was still good... but I know at any other place, they would've offered to make me a hot one... if I could take back my tip, I would... maybe it will affect her potential tip for tomorrow morning. My wake up call is consistently 3 minutes late every morning. And it also has a snooze call after 5 minutes that I do not enjoy... because then I cannot hop in the shower right away or it will keep ringing. This hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, soap (old fashioned bar soap...) and NO lotion. The ONE time I decide to lighten up my backpack by not bringing lotion because hotels of this kind always provide lotion, there is no lotion! I had originally given this place a 3 but after writing this review, I realize "meh, I've experienced better." I think the customer service here should be better. EDIT: Today, I ordered a coffee with skim milk and no whip. I got whip cream... now I wonder if I got skim or not. . . I asked the front desk for lotion. I received a bottle with two more hairs on them. After 3 weeks of staying here, here are my additional comments. Every single morning, the line to get breakfast is small (1 or 2 people at most in front of me), or non existent. Yet, the service to get us breakfast is the slowest in the world. It will take me an average of like 15 minutes to order a coffee and receive my drink. They either need to train their employees better or hire additional staff! Honestly it was the worst part of the stay. Another thing on the top of my list of worst parts of the stay- this one night, I got back to my room around 9:00 and heard what i thought was really loud hail coming from the corner of my room by the window. I lied down around 10pm and could not sleep bc of the noise. I got out of bed at midnight and went towards the corner with the noise, whipped open the curtains, only to find out there was just a wall, not a window. I looked down and realized the noise was coming from the heater. I immediately shut down the heater but the noise kept going. I called the front desk and told them the situation but they said there was no maintenance staff available and that they were completely booked so they could not put me in another room. My coworker who was staying in a room directly above me had the same issue with his heater! This was definitely unacceptable. How are we supposed to sleep at night?! One of my coworkers said she found old candy on the floor under the desk and a wet rag on her shower rod... I had to stay here for work. But if it was up to me, I would never stay here again! read more

It's and older hotel but the room was nice enough. Big enough that I could spread out to work. Comfy enough with the king bed. I've seen a bunch of reviews on how the staff was rude or not very attentive. Couldn't be more the opposite for me. Check in both times [uncooperative day at work forced a stay over]. Rhonda at the bar is always welcoming. The only real complaint, is the price point for a glass of wine. $17 for a "double"? Seriously for that price, I will walk across the road braving crazy traffic to Walmart and grab two bottles! [Not going to cross that road anymore than absolutely necessary, LOL!] Oh I do have one more complaint, when trying to thank the folks working here on the Marriott webpage, it was impossible to find a place to post a review. It's always a pleasure to stay here, the staff always makes me feel welcome and comfortable. The reviews on this hotel is hit and miss, but here's my honest opinion. This is and older hotel to some people who stay here, but the staff keeps it clean and nice. I love the fact you can get a room with a balcony. I love going downstairs to get my breakfast and come back up to eat it on my balcony. This stay I had a king suite, omg this room was huge and I enjoyed every minute of it. Another thing about this hotel it's quiet, no kids screaming or drunk people. Plus, it's close to the causeway and I-12. I recommend this hotel to everyone. read more

My family and I checked into the Marriott Courtyard in Covington/Mandeville, LA on Friday October 6th-8th 2017. The hotel was built in the 1990s & the building that we stayed in appears to have not been updated since then. The rooms were old and smelled of water damage, mold, and mildew. The walls were badly in need of a paint job; the hallway floors needed sweeping; there was apparent water damage on the ceiling of my room as well as the ceiling above the ice machine located in the hallway; the toilet inside of my room stopped flushing; the refrigerator in my room didn't get cold enough to keep our milk cold so we had to place it into the ice bucket & hope for the best; the side of the bathtub was old and peeling; & I never figured out what the white stain was on the bed skirt. We decided to eat in the bistro area located on the first floor. We finally got settled in after playing a game of dirty/stained musical chairs. There is no way that this place should be under the Marriott umbrella. In fact, Marriott should be ashamed of themselves for having this dive passing under their name. It was truly equivalent to an upscale Motel 6 or a highway Super 8. I'd give it zero stars if I could!!! How gross!!!!!!! read more

Very Clean hotel. Despite it's large size it was really quite and private. We really enjoyed the indoor pool and the awesome hot tub. The Bistro had a nice variety to offer for breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a air conditioner that was up to the task of the August heat. I was very unimpressed upon entering this property. There was a weird smell of mildew as if something had been wet and stayed wet too long. I was even more disappointed when I reached the front desk. Although the women attempted to display some form of customer service, it was a bit of a hassle to get booked. We originally checked in at a Fairfield not too far away but decided to spend our last night at this location. I was instantly annoyed and very disappointed when I saw they gave us a handicap room! The restroom is made in such a way that it will be very uncomfortable to shower and the entire floor gets wet in the restroom when trying to shower. I think the girl at the front knew she was giving us a handicap room and knew we would not be happy with it, as she tried to leases the blow by saying, "we put you in the newly renovated section". I really hate to be patronized. She should have just been open and honest and let us know she did not have any rooms that weren't handicap. Which I believe they did because I heard the other lady telling her they had 2 left that they wanted to make a profit on. Maybe since we got our room with the Marriot Bonvoy at a discounted rate she decided to give us this less than desirable room. A little further than we wanted to drive to visit NOLA but we loves driving across Lake Ponchartrain. It was nice to be close but not stay in the city where prices are so high. On the plus side - room was clean, bedding comfortable, TV and internet worked fine - location is good if you need to be in the Covington area. On the negative side - the breakfast, which was included and I thought a great deal. The first morning all was fine as we were the only people in the cafe area at that time. The second morning, it was crowded - my order took forever to come out and had to ask about it 3 times. My companion got her order quickly. I also overheard the family at the next table ask about their order twice. I guess the staff was overwhelmed with the amount of guests that came down at the same time. There were about 20 people there. I would think that on mornings where you can anticipate a large crowd, set up as a buffet - Overall, I would stay here again. read more
