It seems as if this hotel is turning into that forgotten child. Maintenance is average, this poor child is loosing her luster fast. The food has slipped the most, not the price just the palatability, but there are good things to eat close by. The furniture is beginning to look rustic. The carpets are looking warn and dated it's just not the Courtyard we are used to staying at. I still gave it a 4 because of the staff, some of them are still here from my first visit. Great staff and in my opinion it's not their responsibility to replace the soon to be reviewed as grungy carpet in the hallways. read more

Clean hotel, friendly staff, lots of restaurant choices anyone could easily walk to. Had the breakfast burrito which was filling and tasty. Fitness center had good cardio equipment, but was small. Parking lot had a lot of curbing that is easy to hit, so drive carefully. read more

We recently stayed at this location while moving our daughter back to college. Excellent Covid distancing measures. We have stayed here many times in the past and it is always a delight! The rooms are very clean. The location is convenient to dining options and Denison University. The staff is incredible! Friendly, courteous and helpful in answering questions. This poor worn out Marriott Courtyard is in need of a SIGNIFICANT capital investment or get booted from the Marriott franchise system. I cannot even begin to explain how awful it is. Mold in the A/C system is only beat by the fungus growing on our balcony. Green growth from the water dripping from above renders the spit of a balcony overlooking a dumpster the worst. The bonus Noise from the traffic-facing side is the worst (avoid odd-numbered rooms if you're dumb enough to stay) as it is noise you'll never be able to sleep to. BUT the crowning blow are the mattresses. They're concrete slaps with embedded nails that will impale you at ~30 minutes after you've finally taken three hours to fall asleep. My husband described the experience as Dante's ninth ring of hell. As a lifetime Marriott Titanium elite member, I'm supposed to get a "best room available" experience. I used to work here about 18 years ago and the staff was very pleasant. I have also stayed here quite a bit in the last few years. Today was not very pleasant and I was made to feel very uncomfortable in front of other guests by the front desk female employee. She would not give me a military discount as well as being very rude to me. When I gave her my bank card-it was unfamiliar to her and she asks me very rudely what kind of card is this. I told her it worked and she still was asking me rude questions. I felt really discriminated against. I have never encountered such a rude person that deals with the public everyday. This is the worst visit I have ever had... There has been no elevator since we arrived and my partner is disabled.He was forced to use the stairs as they are not ADA accessible. The parking lot has only 24 spots as construction vehicles, dumpsters, portable sheds and heavy construction equipment taking up the entire parking lot. This morning they slid a note udner my door stating the water will be turned off at 10am. They should have closed this place down if there were no standard amenities available such as water or elevators. This is Thanksgiving weekend for god's sake. at least let us know all you get a bed amidst construction noise. This place SUCKS. read more

Check in was easy on the App. Key was ready when I arrived. Check in area and most of the first floor smelled like the pool. Our room had an unknown odor. There was a small corn muffin next to the air conditioner. Toilet was clean and beds were made. Beds were not comfy. I laid on it and rolled to the center. The front desk staff was friendly. It had the usual clean rooms and expectations of a Courtyard. However, when I got to the bistro and asked for a refill on coffee they wanted to charge me and reminded me I had coffee in the room. I stay over 140 nights a year at Marriott properties and have never been charged for a refill on coffee from the bistro. The employee was really quite rude about it and does not represent my experience with the rest of the chain. I stay at Marriotts for the consistency and Customer service, however this is not one I will be returning to. read more

Don't do it! We tried to book a night at this hotel, when they were so difficult/unhelpful, we decided to stay at another location about 20 minutes away, but this place still charged our card through our Marriott account and took our points! They have refused to fix the issue. Corporate Marriott has refused to work with us to fix it and says we must deal with the local people and the local people are just completely refusing to help. If I hadn't been paying attention to the credit card statement I might not have even noticed, but after I saw that they charged our credit card, I went back and checked our points and they charged that too! This is the second time we have had a negative experience with this hotel! Last spring we had friends stay their when they came in town for our sons reception. Their room wasn't clean, the staff were rude and the hotel was noisy all night long. I can't believe this is a Marriott. I thought last years bad experience was a fluke because it's Marriott...and they have always been great! We have spent so many business trips and weekends for sporting events in a Marriott that I thought it was just an off event. Turns out it is not! This is a convenient location, but the convenience is not worth dealing with these people! read more

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, and it was fine, but it has gone seriously downhill since the last time I stayed there and will NEVER stay there again. The most serious problem was a non-working elevator for three days! I have problems with my knees, but was forced for walk up and down the stairs causing me considerable and long-lasting pain. When I complained to the front desk about this they blabbered some excuse that they don't have a elevator contractor who can work on the elevator on a holiday (it was Thanksgiving) and so it would not be fixed until Friday! They seemed very cavalier about it, which might be not be a problem for able-bodied people, but is a very serious issue for people with disabilities. This is TOTALLY unacceptable! Somebody could fall down the stairs and be seriously injured. They deserve to be sued over this. Their problems with the contractor are of no concern to guests with mobility problems and there is NO EXCUSE for this lack of caring for the comfort and well-being of their guests. Then, this morning a construction crew began making loud noises outside our window at 8:00 am. This was a "blessing in disguise" as a note had been slipped under our door informing us that there would be no water in the hotel after 10:00 am! Thankfully the construction noise woke us up or we may not have been unable to wash or shower if we'd slept a bit later. A PHONE CALL alerting all the guests would have been much more appropriate, but that would have required caring and a bit of effort. Things that are sorely lacking in this facility. STAY AWAY!!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!! read more

The hotel is clean, reasonably priced, and in good condition. The thing that makes this place stand out is its employees. I stayed for four nights and received truly excellent customer service from every staff member I encountered. They went out of their way to be friendly and helpful each time I approached the front desk. One person in particular - I believe her name is Sheena - even offered to steamed some milk for me so that I could make hot chocolate. That gesture made my day. If you're looking for a comfortable stay with a warm, hospitable atmosphere, this is the place for you! read more
