Have a tad bit of knowledge on hotels. Been a general manager of one for 1.5 years. My wife has been a general manager of one for 9 years. So to our surprise, this hotel has been one of the cleanest stays in a long run. We were in choicehotels group, and every where we have stayed in one, from Frankenmuth MI to Belleville MI to Pittsburgh PA we have started to take our own bedsheets and lysol disinfectant wipes just to be on the safe side. We did not need them here. The beds were clean, the bedsheets were clean, the bathroom was clean, the front desk was clean and uncluttered. The only issue we had was in room #321 there were no bath towels, but when I contacted the front desk lady, Ashley, our needs were met ultra fast with an apology. It was not her fault. That's the job of the housekeeping supervisors to check and see if all is ok before rendering a room to be reopened for business, but the apology came from Ashley the only representative at night while we checked in. Awesome customer service in her part. The next morning we rushed down to have a quick breakfast, and I dropped my wife off at her work site. Returned back to the hotel and lounged around till 1pm with a late check out. Their normal checkout is 12pm. Love the times. Highly overpriced for what you receive. No alarm clock in room. No microwave in room. Mattress and box spring were worn out. Bathroom shower towels were plush but not big enough for a shower. Breakfast was pitiful. Bagels were tasteless. Potatoes had no flavor. Fruit salad was not ripe. Employees were nice and very helpful. read more

Friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Not sure why, but they called me a week before my stay to ask if I can take a king bed instead of 2 queens. As a business traveler with a room to only myself, it didn't matter. I just found it odd that they didn't have enough queen rooms. I also found their price was significantly more than the last time I stayed there. The breakfast was very good. My room had a walk in shower which was also very good. Great location close to some shopping and chain restaurants. The fitness center is small, but kept cool and all machines worked well. read more

Double charged for the room and all we received was "oh yeah sorry - you'll have to wait 7-10 days for your refund. " Quality of this company and its hotels has been slipping for years. The stay itself was also lacking. Do better. Be better. read more

Beware of their cancellation policy. I booked for one night in January. less than two hours after booking, I was told the event I was going to had changed venues. I cancelled the booking right away and lost $100. It was booked for less than two hours and they lost no revenue! Won't be booking with Hampton again. read more

VERDICT: I would stay here again. I wouldn't be excited about it, but I would be pleased because I saved money compared with other options. Not too happy with my room this time... Dirty coffee maker, signs of water damage... cracking paint...woken up by housekeeping when I got in late from airport last night even though I had a do not disturb sign on the door. One cant help but wonder: if they didnt clean coffee maker, did they change the sheets? What else wasnt cleaned.... I'll update as the stay progresses... hopefully it gets better. read more

Walking in I'm greeted by name like I have been staying here every week. Check in was flawless. Inquiring at the front desk about food, I'm supplied with a plethora of take out menus with a stellar recommendation from the staff. The lobby was very clean, complimentary coffee was fresh (at 8:45 pm). My room was spacious and very clean. The pool area I feel was a little dated but not a bad thing, the water was warm and appeared to be clean without a real heavy chlorine smell. Wake up call was on time and breakfast was hot fresh and plentiful. Definitely a place I'll stay next time. read more

My co-worker and I stayed here for two nights on a business trip. My co-worker had a horrible experience with people that stayed next door to him. They were having some kind of domestic abuse/argument that went on through the night. We called it into the front desk, and was told that they checked out shortly after. Not long after, the couple checks back in and continue their fighting in the SAME room, and keeps my co-worker up past 3AM. The day we were checking out, I called in to have a later check out. I only requested an extra 30 minutes but was denied. The excuse I received: "There will be no house-keeping available after 12:30PM". Normal check-out is at 12:00PM, so I guess apparently all housekeeping leaves a half hour after everyone is set to check-out. I guess the only upside to our stay was that the rooms were decently clean. read more

Ok hotel other than Staff and management are uncaring and unresponsive, but pleasant. Stayed 4 nights. Left my phone number with the desk clerk to have general manager call regarding several issues after only 1.5 nights.... still waiting. It was bad enough that I left my number at 3:30 am. The work out center is small, dated and HOT.... and no one seems to know how to turn down the thermostat. Miserable. Rooms were clean. This is the 4th time I've stayed at this hotel. My colleague and I stayed here for one night on a business trip. The hotel was very easy to locate and ingress and egress was easy. The staff is incredibly friendly, each employee that I encountered engaged in a conversation with me going leaps and bounds beyond the normal small talk which was nice. There were even fresh cookies, donuts, hot tea and coffee at all hours of the day and night! Our rooms were located on the 2nd floor. I did hear my neighbors for a small amount of time during the evening but everything stayed pretty quiet after bed time. The room was clean, the bathroom was spotless. They have a microwave and refrigerator in each room which I always think is a nice addition to have. The only complaint I would have which is why I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5 is that the room didn't smell as clean. It had a somewhat musty smell which certainly didn't fit the clean condition of the room so maybe they need to check their air vents. Breakfast was the usual hotel fare. Not bad, not good but enough to get you on the road to where you're going. I would definitely stay here again. One last note, FREE WIFI!! read more

Stayed here during a work trip. Easy check in. Seems like this hotel was re-done recently. The room was super clean, bathrooms are really nice! The bathroom has a great shower, With a shower head that has different settings. Housekeeping stocked the bathroom with plenty of towels. Great little toiletries (including makeup wipes). The beds are clean and comfortable. Fluffy pillows and comforters. Good sized TV, with a nice selection of channels. The breakfast was pretty decent to be free. I made the fresh waffles both mornings, and had nice fresh coffee with my meal. There were other hot options available, a variety of pastries, fruits and juices. Plenty of room to sit down in the lobby area to eat. Tv's set to the news, which pleased me. If you are looking for something negative in the review, I would say that they need to remove the thermostats off of the walls in the rooms. I spent about 10 mins trying to turn on the heat in the room only to realize the unit had the controls. Not a big deal though. I left my toiletries out in the bathroom the first day, came back and everything was just as I left it. Great hotel for TDY trips. Great restaurants within 10 miles of the location. read more

The hotel staff were very helpful when checking in. The rooms were very clean and tidy.the shower was nice and clean. The beds were very big and very comfortable and soft. They had a free breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and waffles and some hot food also. And for a very good price also. 5 stars great hotel would recommended read more

Our first morning here we woke to find a house centipede in the shower. These are large, fast, creepy bugs with many long legs. Per wiki "The delicate legs enable it to reach surprising speeds of up to 0.4 meters per second (1.3 ft/s)[4] running across floors, up walls and along ceilings." Jessica at the front desk said there was nothing she could do, that we would have to wait until housekeeping came in at 9a. Since we needed to leave by 9a this was unacceptable. We called the corporate # to ask why there isn't anyone available to remove this large bug from our shower. They didn't know and couldn't help us. We finally got up the nerve to remove it ourselves. Thank goodness we did because housekeeping never showed up to remove it. This set us back an hour. Before we left we overheard Jessica complaining about us to a housekeeper. The housekeeper thought we were being ridiculous. When we got back to the hotel that evening I described the incident to the person at the desk and asked for the name of the manager. Instead she told me that I should have tried washing it down the drain. I had to again emphasize the size of a house centipede. This is not a bug that can fit down the tiny holes of their shower drain. After insulting my intelligence she then gave me the run around for a few minutes insisting there wasn't anything anyone could've done, they spray for bugs. I told her we understand these things happen, the issue was how it was dealt with. Finally she gave me the names of the managers but dismissively said all they'd do is leave a can of bug spray at the desk. Very unprofessional staff at this location. read more

The staff here is awesome! During my recent stay, I fell on a rain-slick sidewalk at a nearby restaurant, and managed to scrape up my face pretty badly. My clothes ended up pretty bloody as well. When I got back to the Hampton, Dennis (General Manager) and Dee Dee (AGM/Sales Manager) were very concerned and offered first-aid assistance as well as transportation to an Urgent Care facility, which I declined. Every time I saw any of the managers, front desk people, and breakfast attendants after that day, they, too, always asked me how I was feeling, and repeated their offers of assistance. This staff truly cares about the guests! Even though I was alone most of the day while my boyfriend was on a consulting job, I felt that I could count on this staff for assistance and just plain old friendly conversation. We weren't able to stay here due to a large baseball event in the area , all rooms were booked but Joe the employee on duty called around to a couple of hotels to find us a room at a reasonable rate. It was late at night and I was traveling with my elderly mother and sons. I appreciated this extra help. He acted more like a concerned family member then some random employee. I have stayed at this Hampton at least six times before and never had this problem. The cable TV was was such a hassle. It was never this way before but now the Time-Warner cable feed seems to default to MSNBC when you turn the TV on. Really? The worst rated cable news station? Why? CNN is a little better, but MSNBC? They are going out of business with their super low ratings. I tried to select Fox News (Channel 61) with the remote, and guess what? It just defaults back to MSNBC. I finally figured out that the only way I could get Channel 61 was to go to Channel 62 with the remote and then manually go back with the control buttons on the back of the TV. I found this problem with no other channel. Multiple Hampton Staff confirmed that there was an issue selecting Channel 62 with the remote. They even tried in different rooms and saw the same problem. They are reporting it. So this is either an issue with the Hampton TV programming people or with Time-Warner. My guess is that it is the former (maybe just locally). Now some will say, hey, it's Fox News, why not block it! But would you say that if it was MSNBC being purposely blocked? This last trip definitely made me question if I want to continue staying at this Hampton in the future. read more

We stayed there for 2 nights. The rooms are spacious, clean and basic. There is very little if any sound insulation between floors (we had the last room so i'm not sure about how thin the walls are). The first night we had an issue because we couldn't sleep until 5 am because of the activity of the couple in the room above us. We could hear them so clearly as if they were in our room. We called the front desk around 4:30 am and asked to be moved and we were. We had no sound issues in the second room. The staff is very accomodating and the breakfast was fresh (you could make your own waffles) and they don't end it strictly at 10:00 am which is nice. When we were checking out we weren't charged for the first noisy night. The location of this hotel is pretty central for that town. read more
