The rooms could use some updating, but not a dealbreaker. You will be charged extra for parking once you arrive, make sure to have the make/model/license plate ready once you arrive. I am leaving a 2 star review of our 5/2/2026 - 5/3/2026 stay at the PDX Courtyard by Marriott primarily out of concern for the safety of the guests staying at the hotel. On the morning of 5/3 the hotel completely lost power. No phones, lights, nothing. Now I understand since the whole block lost power this was not the hotel's fault. My concern lies in that during the power outage, there was no emergency lighting anywhere. The halls, exit signs and more disturbingly, the stairwells had no lighting at all. That is unacceptable. Don't they test their emergency systems? Had this occurred at night it could have been worse. As it was daylight we could at least see in our room and somewhat in the hall. No communication on the situation was provided to hotel guests. The power outage lasted between 45 min to 1hour. read more

This is a comfortable place to stay and the staff is very friendly. Everything was up to Marriott standard it did not disappoint. This one does not have free breakfast but they do have a bistro to grab something to eat or the little store. The store has a verity of snacks , candy, deserts, popcorn, food, soaps, cold meds a little bit of everything. One of the staff suggested I try the Ruby Jewel Ice cream OMG it was so good I had one every night and I am not a ice cream person.. I'm glad they are far away from me . One of the elevators was out of service during our 3 day stay. They only have 2 entries the other doors are locked on the side. The Bistro area is a nice place to hang out they have a few private booths you can take your lap top plug in and work from there. read more

I've stayed at the Courtyard Portland Airport a couple of times this past month before early flights, and overall it's a solid option if you need something close to PDX--the location is super convenient. The hotel is definitely a little outdated, but it looks like they're working on some updates, which is nice to see. That said, during both of my stays, there was a strong wet carpet smell, probably from cleaning. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely noticeable and not the most pleasant. On my second visit, the room was labeled non-smoking, but it still had a strong cigarette-like smell--could've been leftover smoke or just a mix with the damp carpet odor. Either way, not great. Despite that, the staff was friendly, and for a quick overnight before flying out, the convenience factor is hard to beat. I'd consider staying again for that reason alone--just hoping the updates continue! read more

My truck was robbed, vandalized and ransacked while I was staying at this Marriott in July of 2025. After coming back from a flight , I went to my truck and noticed some personal items strewn on the ground and my rear passenger window was smashed and truck was robbed and ransacked of thousands of dollars worth of tools and personal items. But, thankfully the thieves had had enough thought to close the doors after ransacking and robbing the truck , as the alarm was blaring probably. Management was very understanding by giving me a shoulder shrug and saying " well it's Portland" probably homeless person and then they provided me a broom to sweep up the glass and my personal items in the parking area. Ironically the " homeless person "who robbed my truck left money, food and cleaning supplies, and took took 5 power tools , one battery tool charger, three tool batteries ( they left the tool bag that all this was in in case there was a tracker imo) and my recurve bow and arrows. Just an fyi, the tools that were taken and bow and arrows, could not have been just ran away with, there had to be a car for a get away. Further the Marriott policy of placing a blue piece of paper with the date of my return to the Marriot, that must be placed on the dashboard is not a smart thing, since it tells thieves when I'm returning . They didn't take my advice before the fact and I suffered. Further, I don't think this was random , but targeted from my out of state Ny plates , I think there's more to this theft and I think it happens frequently to out of state plates here. I asked for video surveillance, but was not given any. I wasn't offered any discounts on my week stay, I had to pay for my window replacement before driving back to NY, wasn't even offered a bottle of water. Also I contacted local pd, they didn't want to come out. So I made a report online. In conclusion don't risk your vehicle and stay at this Marriot, especially with out of state plates , IMO I think it's targeted , collaborated and the invitation needed for theft. read more

This would likely be a 5 star review but the desk clerk that checked us in was problematic. We booked a double room and upon arriving he said that we'd booked the wrong kind of double room - apparently it was a handicap room, which we didn't need. He gives us a regular double room after telling us that we are lucky one is still available. HoHum! He says it's a common mistake. Well then maybe update your booking page so it's clear. Then proceeds to tell me that prices have gone up but he'll adjust it as a courtesy. That's not a courtesy. That's honoring your commitment. Again....HoHum! The room is nice. It's clean and comfortable. It's also quiet. Not hearing a lot of airport noise which is wonderful. Includes a fridge and microwave and a nice desk area as well as a comfortable side chair for relaxing. There's breakfast and some sort of dinner served. Haven't partaken of those so can't speak to the quality but this would have been a perfect review had it not been for Mr. Personality at the front desk. read more

Sorry. (Evidently it required maintenance, so I did it) No breakfast included. $10 Bagel Small bath and sink in room, not bathroom Noisy: traffic, planes, flushing toilet nextdoor We tried Comfort Suites PDX. We spent two bookend nights here during a trip to the Willamette Valley. Ursula, at the Bistro made our visit. Talk about down home values! She took care of us and was the icing on the cake of a week touring Oregon. Friendly and knowledgeable about wine and food, she shined bright on our last evening. The food was delicious! I just needed a nice place to land for a turn around appointment. This courtyard is nicely appointed and VERY clean. The bed is comfortable, the room is well kept with coffee maker, microwave and fridge. It also has a mice workspace area with plenty of commectivity and surprisingly fast internet. The staff has been very friendly and helpful. Its just 6-7 minutes from the airport and 3 minutes from the freeway. I would certainly stay here again read more

This review is for the restaurant area at the Courtyard. I have stayed at many Courtyards and never have I experienced a restaurant like this. The off menu items were something you might find at a fine dining location. The tomato basil soup was delicious and my fresh Alaskan Cesar Salad was absolutely wonderful. Three of use sat at the bar and the customer service was great. They are more than ready to address your needs. I will be back in the area next week and plan to stay here again for the food. I have stayed at this property in the past and have always appreciated the generous room size and outgoing friendly staff. I checked in today for one night and was informed that due to the Covid19 virus, the restaurant and bar were closed. This was not disclosed on the Marriott website when I booked the room 4 days previous. Now I ask, what options do I have for dining when my full service hotel is not supplying food availability for their guests and other restaurants in the area are also closed? This leaves me with the drive through option. Why would I book at a full service hotel when they opt out without notification? (I don't like eating from styrofoam!) Granted I was given a comfortable and quiet room on the 6th floor at a very good rate and was pleased with it all until I noticed there was no ice bucket, water cups or coffee maker! It seems the rooms have been stripped of all extra amenities using the virus as an excuse to lower any potential extra costs! The only functioning ice machine was on the 2nd floor! Signs on the other machines stated they were disabled due to the virus! I stayed 50+ nights last year at Marriott properties and based on that experience have expectations! I requested the missing items from my room and they were promptly delivered however, I have basic needs when I stay at at any hotel property and I should not have to request basic amenities in spite of a virus! I spend over 200 nights a year in Marriott & Hilton hotels and do believe that all inn keepers need to perform to a consistent standard and avoid temptation to cut corners at my expense! What is this displaying to their guests that are paying good money to stay here? I will not return to this property. I was advised my the front desk upon checkout that the lack of amenities were mandated by corporate so this is widespread! I have a choice where I spend my travel dollars and it is blatant that Marriott is not earning my business with these practices. read more

Free upgrades? Why Yes of course. Makes my stay not necessarily worlds different, it's just a relief to get more space, 3 TVs (not that I need all of them), a larger bathroom, a coffee bar (with Seattles Best coffee), microwave and fridge. I have stayed in many Marriotts and staff here is very attentive relative to most. While the Marriott Manila is hands down the best of them all, the modernization of all Marriotts were patterned out of the test cases setup in the Marriott Manila airport. Why? Four years later, I see the color palettes, redesign and architecture planning, fruits of testing at the Marriott Manila, manifest in the newly remodeled Courtyards and Marriotts all over the U.S. of A. I love the new layout: more comfortable, color schemes mimic the landscape (the rainy environment in Portland is congruent to the environs inside, colorwise); the Starbucks everywhere concept (wish it were Stumptown, just sayin') is all over the cafes at Courtyard Marriotts. Very nice stay, larger room, close to the rail service to downtown, free parking. Pretty comfy. One flaw, the street side is a bit louder so ask for rooms above the 3rd floor or back of the hotel. Visits: 1 here, many Marriotts else where. Tip: Marriott and Starwood Gold/Platinums get free upgrades, free wifi and breakfast/points. I had an issue in my room, Paula helped me at the front desk and Will came to the rescue, he did everything super quickly and was really courteous about the entire thing. Noisy hotel, I hate how poorly this hotel was constructed and how loud the noise is from the traffic outside. In my room you can hear people upstairs flushing their toilet. If I didn't have a bed I would've thought I was sleeping outside. Car traffic is so loud and then you have the Airplaines, that's another story. My family had a super stay at this hotel. I took other reviewers' advice and asked for a room not facing the main street, and on the third floor or above. The hotel staff were happy to accommodate me. We got here early and our room was not ready yet. I loved how parking was free and we had two cars. We needed to leave one of the two cars there while we drove the other one downtown to spend the day with our daughter. No problem! We didn't even need to provide our license plate info. The lobby was small but lovely, with a little "marketplace" area to buy snacks and sundries, and an area across the way to print out boarding passes and get brochures on local attractions, and maps of the area. The front desk ladies were super nice. I went around the corner to use the bathrooms and checked out the dining area/bistro there. It was lovely! Large counter area/bar and nice seating areas, too. Decently stocked bar, Starbucks beverages and good-sized menu, too. Nice! There was a counter with lemon ice water in a huge glass dispenser with cups (perfect! We were so thirsty). The bathrooms were really nice, too (I take note of these things!). We returned later that night. Our room was exactly what we needed: two double beds, small fridge, microwave, coffee machine, everything clean and inviting. The shower's water pressure was stand-out fantastic. Everything worked great, we all slept well, and the room was surprisingly quiet (I had expected to hear more airplane noise). We didn't use them, but this hotel also has conference rooms, a free airport shuttle, a fitness room and a pool. We went down to the Bistro to get some drinks for our room. The Bistro is open until 10pm, and the bartender was friendly. She gave us our drinks and even cut up some lime wedges and threw in a nifty bottle opener/corkscrew. Bonus! Check-out the following morning was smooth and surprise-free. Great hotel! We'd definitely stay here again. read more

Our first time staying at this hotel. We love that it is so convenient to the Max Train from the city to the airport and being able to get hotel transportation to and from the airport. We liked the drivers of the hotel bus both times we took it. Our room was very nice. No issues with cleanliness, bed/sleeping comfort, room temp and quality of our room and tv worked just fine. Bathroom was properly stocked w/ towels and very clean. We have no complaints about our stay except we wish there was less plastic (room coffee maker w/ all the plastic coffee tray/filter/plastic wrap on everything like plastic cups/paper cups and just not environmental. I long for the old coffee makers we used to have in hotels. This is just horrible to pretend one cares about the animals/birds/environment and have tons of plastic or single use items in a hotel room. I didn't like that there was a Starbucks in the lobby since I don't patron that junk coffee chain store. Their coffee stinks and they are not a good company to work for. We just waited to go to the airport for our coffee. Otherwise, we will definitely come back again for another experience. read more

I originally booked here because it was a convenient location for my overnight trips to Portland. But it quickly became my favorite spot to stay. Well kept property. A huge amount of parking available unlike some hotels in the area. The staff are so nice and easy to work with. They were kind enough to ask me if I wanted complementary toothpaste packets instead of buying a travel tube from their little concession area! That's so awesome to not just snatch the upsell opportunity. Their concessions are great choices of snacks and toiletries. A lot easier than shuffling off to a convenient store and the prices are the same as at 7-Eleven for the most part. I finally got to enjoy the Bistro setting for dinner this last visit. Usually we only do breakfast and grab dinner around town with friends. The service was fantastic and drinks were well made. Their menu isn't huge but has a great variety. I had their green goddess BLT and I seriously debated ordering another! Dinner with 3 speciality drinks and 2 meals was $50. Standard pricing for a hotel bar. I'm a sucker for the bagel and salmon breakfast. The presentation for both meals are a nice added touch. The only complaint is their coffee may be Starbucks branded but their servers aren't trained to make specialty coffee drinks. That I can deal with easily all things else considered! The street side is a lot noisier. This was the first time we were placed there and we heard a lot more planes. We also apparently had a herd of baby elephants in the room above us with all the loud stomping but such is life when on vacation at a hotel! read more

Was very fortunate to stay here on a family discount. Hotel is conveniently very close to the airport and easy to get to. Many eateries across the street nearby in walking distance if you are looking for something to eat. Cascade Station is also close by but maybe a bit too far to walk. Hotel check in simple and this hotel is 5 floors. Easy to navigate. Room we had was spacious with a king bed. The layout is spacious with lots of places to hang your close and place things on the counter space. They have a microwave and refrigerator as well in the room which is a nice perk. Ice machines located next to the elevator. Hint: Although parking and wifi is free, no complimentary breakfast. You can order downstairs from their kitchen/bar area if you like. The complimentary shuttle service is super appreciated! Fair a fair come check this hotel out if you need a convenient hotel near the airport. read more

The Courtyard Portland Airport is an older hotel but was recently re-modeled and updated. The lobby inside is beautiful and modern, featuring a small cafe that serves food throughout the day and lots of comfortable seating for meeting with friends or business associates, reading the newspaper, or playing Angry Birds on your iPad. Our room was comfortable with a comfortable king bed and plenty of space for the two of us. We had a small seating area by the bed, a desk, and a nice HD flatscreen TV. The bathroom was nice and the shower had great water pressure. My wife complained that the air conditioning unit was loud and woke her up during the night when it turned on, but it never disturbed me. We didn't stay long enough to use the fitness center or pool but overall I was very happy with our stay at the Courtyard Portland Airport. It's by no means a fancy or deluxe hotel but sometimes all you really need is a quiet and comfortable place to sleep for the night. For $89 per night, the Courtyard Portland Airport was a great value in my opinion. I would stay here again. read more

I've stayed in Marriotts all over the country and you will never get better service in any other Marriott restaurant than from Steve and Jesse here at the Portland Airport. Courtyard Bistro. They greet me by name after long periods of absence, do regular table checks, upsell, and converse with all customers as if they had known them for years. Amazing. I stayed on the 5th floor - which was finished with construction/renovation. The new rooms are very chic, clean, and well appointed. Aside from the decor, there's so many USB and AC plug charges stationed all over the room, even on each side of the bed - on the actual bed stand which is a definite convenience. And if you forgot your phone plug - theres a charger piece next to the bed/attached to the phone to charge your iphone 4/5, or phone with a micro USB plug. If I can pic a con about this place, is the location. Yes - super convenient if you have an early AM flight - which is the only reason why I pick this place. But the traffic around the airport corridor starting at 3pm to about 8 pm is heavy. To get to he hotel from downtown Portland will take you some time as the traffic builds in/out/and through the airport highways of 205. You may have luck getting around by NE 122nd ave as a main artery. read more

We were welcomed as soon as we entered with her kind smile and "welcome!" She was so efficient during my family's check-in process that we couldn't thank her enough. Her great service meant a lot because upon arrival our original hotel (Townplace Suites- Vancouver Location) cancelled our reservation. My family and I were beyond frustrated but Emily totally changed our moods & reassured us that Marriott does indeed have great workers and unfortunately some poor. Thank you again Emily! I believe someone said this was recently remodel and the lobby and rooms have a good aesthetic to it. Since it was the night of 4th of July, going to downtown was out of option due to uber surcharge rates and busy taxis. Most restaurants were closed around the hotel so we opted for bistro downstairs. We had a burger and the short ribs which were delicious. While the price appeared steep for the short ribs ($23) it comes with three sides (so does the burger) It was a lot of food (see picture). Anthony, working at the bistro, was great and very social. He had a great attitude for working on the night of 4th of July. Shout out to our shuttle driver. He was very social too. Hotel room was better than expected and a big upgrade from my previous hotel right across the street. I read the other reviews about the noise and having lived in Downtown Portland, I can't say I even noticed it and slept like a baby. Room was super comfy with everything needed for a short stay (refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave plus more). Only down side was the Bistro. First night salmon was super dry, but they comped me with dessert. Second night one of the wait staff was a woman with long blonde braids and two men from the kitchen held a long loud conversation in view of the dining area. Just wasn't great ambience. The Bistro suffers from an identity crisis. Is it fine dining or a to go restaurant? They don't do room service. I decided my room was much more comfortable and took the remainder of the meal to go. Kudos to the tall male waiter who provided good service and managed to keep busy as a professional would do. The other three need training and a reprimand on not loafing around where you can be observed by guests. Overall, I enjoyed myself here and would book it again. Rooms are spacious. Comes with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There was even a Homedics noise machine by the bed - you can select ocean, rain, thunder, brook, summer night or white noise to drown out the freeway noise. Yes take the advice of others - request a room that doesn't fade the freeway. Free WiFi but no free breakfast. But the room was $101 per night on the weekend so no complaints from me. read more

As I arrive at the front desk , I heard a fellow guest complaint with others about parking . This thru a red flag to me, as I had a rental car and all I wanted was to sleep. So I asked the front desk associate about parking and she stated I had to find one, if not had to shuttle to a different hotel to park or find parking at the street. Which I was not happy, to make a long story short , this is not acceptable . As I called way before my arrival and no one even mentioned anything about parking issue. Why would a hotel, let guests booked rooms and not have parking available and also tell customers your cars will be towed if you don't moved them by certain time. At this point I asked for an MOD and the front dear associate said there's none . This was a big WOW, and made me realized I had made the wrong decision in staying in this location .40 minutes into this and my son is still in my car waiting on a bed!! The staff was not prepare and management didn't care about anything as they weren't present at all to provided a solid answer. I will not recommend this hotel or any Marriott Hotel if they continue to allow hotels to run this way. Yelp Friends: if you select a budget hotel then it's on you to be vigilant before accepting the assigned room. After a long drive yesterday I unpacked and plopped into bed at this Marriott Courtyard without looking out the window. That was a mistake, because I was immediately above (second floor) the kitchen, and the trash bins, loading area, etc. This was a problem 10-midnight when the kitchen crew was doing its nightly cleanup routine. In a higher-class hotel, the HVAC is internal and the rooms well insulated for sound, etc. Budget hotels keep costs lower by using individual wall units, and they're pretty bad for transmitting outside sound. Bad on me for not looking out my window; checking more carefully. Bad on the Marriott checkin clerk for assigning this room to any guest last night: they were far from full and I checked in about 7pm. Otherwise, looks like they've done a recent room-by-room renovation. Nice, clean. But avoid room 221! read more

This hotel is a nice place to stay, but the one big caveat here is the noise. First you get the car traffic noise which this hotel is located right next to a big main street and secondly you have the noise from the airport including the trains. The noise from airplanes coming in and taking off is constant plus you have the trains always blowing their whistles very early in the morning and through the rest of the day. This makes for a restless night of sleep and if you're not used to it, it will surely make you feel as if you're pulling your hair out. The place itself is very modern looking with a nice lobby as you walk in plus they have easy check-in for your airlines with computers for doing that right next to the lobby. The rooms here are an adequate size in where I felt they weren't too small or large plus they have nice bed spreads and nice size television too. They have free Wi-Fi and parking which are always a big plus whenever I look for hotels. Another big plus here was the shower in the bathroom which came with a very nice massaging head. It was definitely one of the best I've ever had from the all the different hotels I've stayed in. One odd thing was that the bathroom sink was inside the bedroom instead of in the bathroom. I've noticed lately that the Courtyard Marriot's have this same weird design as I recently was in NY and they have the same thing. I wish I could've given this place more stars, but the noise alone was a real bummer. Service was quick and efficient to check-in and out. I really enjoyed my stay here otherwise as it was convenient to get around to other places we were visiting close by and the hotel itself was clean and contemporary. read more

The room was nothing spectacular but it was clean, up to date, and had all the basics. All for a very affordable price! It is currently being remodeled so if you're planning to be inside the room during the day don't be surprised to be hearing workers outside. However, they only allow construction workers until 4pm so it's very quiet in the evening. Mainly, I was just super impressed by the service. The people at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. I was stranded with two of my friends and no car our first day in Portland so we asked the front desk how to get to downtown and they had an airport shuttle that we took to the MAX that we took to downtown Pioneer Square. The driver was super nice and explained the whole MAX system to us on the drive there. The front desk workers gave us everything we asked for and more. They gave us extra pillows, towels, and toiletries without us even asking because we had five girls in our room. One of the workers gave us directions to a nearby store when we made one complaint about the high prices of their drinks in their little store. They later gave us a wine bottle opener and wine glasses when we brought back some wine to drink in the room at night. Would be a three star just based on the room alone but the service was top notch and bumps them up a star! :) read more

This Courtyard is pretty much like the rest. The room layout, at least the one I received was a little narrower than I am used to, but it wasn't unbearable. Instead of the sink being across from the closet there was no closet and the sink was right next to it. I would have preferred to have a closet. Otherwise the room was clean and fairly up-to-date. Housekeeping seemed to be on top of their game. The food, as well as the service, at the restaurant was good too. Comfortable bed and my room even had a refrigerator and microwave. I really like when the room has a fridge so I can keep a couple bottles of water in it. read more
