I arrived around 11:20pm on a Thursday night for a two night stay. The lobby was cleaned and smelled nice. At check in, there was no friendly greeting from the check in person and seemed to be right to the point. I was made aware that the key machine was down, so I couldn't get a key to my room. Staff had to open the door and I Was told to come back in morning for a key. The room was clean but organized in an odd way, to me. The TV was small and old. I did notice the sprinkler was very rusty. I think the room itself needs to be updated to match how the lobby looks. They also had free popcorn, which was nice. The next day, (Friday) I went to the front at 10:30am, 3pm, and at midnight, but it still wasnt working. At 10am on check out day (Saturday), still no keycard. At 2:45pm on check out date (I had late check out) they had key but when I went to my room, it didn't work; neither physical key nor mobile key. The staff were amazing and took care of any situation that arose with extra special care and treatment. The facility was clean. The common areas and check-in smelled very nice. Enjoyed the game nook and business center area. The Cafe was delicious and Mrs. Nadine provided a wonderful experience. We very much enjoyed our pool time as well! Not a bad place to stay at all. Small fridge in rooms. No microwaves in rooms. Hotel is clean. Check-in Staff was helpful. My biggest reason for 3 instead of 4 stars was the fact that 11pm staff was not very hospitable at all. One staff member went outside w/o badge & they knocked on the front door/window & pointed at me to open the door for them. I didn't know they were staff - why would I let a stranger in? I had a slightly weird checkin experience with a staff member who seemed impatient. This hotel was actually a courtyard and built around the central pool. It is not too far from downtown Raleigh and I found decent food nearby. I did not have any issues with the room or the internet, and despite signs saying a softball event was happening, it wasn't too noisy of a place. This might be our new Raleigh staple hotel. It's super convenient to so much. There are a few entrances depending on your room and parking is convenient. The rooms are a bit dated, but were clean. The staff were so nice and the Starbucks is legit. The downfall was the shower and major lack of water pressure. Otherwise solid spot! read more

This is a solid option for business travel. The hotel itself is a dated. The gym could use some updating, rooms are pretty typical of what you'd expect from a courtyard. Elevator is situated on the rear of the Hotel, I didn't mind much but I could see how others may not like this. The Computers and printers down in the lobby have seen better days. I didn't get to try the food so I can't say much in that department. My room went out on me a few times as well. The hotel made up for these flaws in offering good service, and a great location. They provided me with solid service as an elite member and upgraded me to a suite with no problem. The location couldn't be better. You have a Trader Joe's just across the way, a Costco within walking distance, and more than enough restaurants nearby. I would consider staying here again in the future while on business. But the Hotel is in need of an update for sure. read more

Rooms are ok, but they have decided to add a $10 per day parking fee. Just another way to jack up the price. Plenty of parking. No need to charge people for the "privilege" of parking your car. It's inexpensive relatively speaking but it's very old, no microwave, tiny mini fridge, and now they charge $10 to park!!! They have no valet, a big uncovered parking lot, there is a shopping center with lots of parking across the street. What next? Charge for towels? read more

First of all, the hotel's location is excellent. However, the property feels dated. I have stayed here a couple of times, but this might be my last visit. I wish they had notified us before check-in that their keycard system was down--it remained down for our entire stay. We had to ask the front desk to let us into the building and our room every time we needed access! It's not their staff fault but their internal system. The bathroom is small as well. read more

My family and I stayed here recently for a long weekend in Raleigh / Durham. There were 4 rooms between all of us and all but one room had issues with their key cards. The staff were super kind and jumped on the key cards issues quickly but I'm thinking a new system may be a good idea for the future. The hotel is located about 10 minutes from downtown and 20 from RDU airport. There's a brand new shopping center popping up right across the street which currently has a Gusto Farm to Street pizza and salad restaurant, Ross, Trader Joes, Burger Fi burger and beer joint, Cava, a blowout bar and more to come. There's another new complex right up the road called North Hills or "Raleigh's Mid Town" which has Another Broken Egg, a very popular breakfast spot with a unique menu and very long wait. Lots of family establishments in the area. The building layout is kind of funky. You can't walk all the way around as the end caps will cut you off randomly sending you all the way in the other direction to get somewhere. The pool is located right in the center courtyard of the hotel. There are nice lounge chairs, clean towels and cozy shaded reading areas directly outside the gates of the pool. The pool was a perfect temperature for a hot, late Summer day. It's not very big but they keep it clean and it was perfect for a quick dip and tan between touring the town. The Bistro is a bar located in the hotel lobby which is open in the morning for breakfast orders or quick coffee and juice purchases, close during the day, and back open in the evenings for alcoholic beverages, burgers and bites. I believe the hours vary between weekdays and weekends, so I'd check with the front desk on those. There's also a little shop by the front desk for last minute needs such as floss, phone chargers, Ben & Jerry's, wine bottles, and things like that. My room was located right next to the stairs on the second floor. We didn't hear anything the first couple nights but the last night the people in the room on the other side of us were very loud and kept waking me up in the middle of the night. So being next to the stairs is definitely not an issue but the walls between rooms may be a little thin, or these people were just raging all night out of control and that's their fault. Everything else about the room was great - tons of room, great shampoos, fresh towels, quiet HVAC system, etc. The fitness center was small but had a lot to it, including a rowing machine and squat rack. You can access fresh filtered water, hot or cold, in the fitness center at all times of day. The front desk staff were helpful, patient and fun to work with. All lounge areas were clean and cozy. The room prices were reasonable for the location and quality of stay. There's tons of parking and the wifi was strong + easily accessible. All in all, it was a nice stay and I would recommend to families looking for a reasonable price, somewhat close to downtown, in a safe area, with a good environment. read more

Despite being extremely busy (the parking lot was very full), my room on the second floor for the one night I was here was very quiet and quite comfortable. And despite being an older property, it is well maintained. I've been to some Courtyards that were not nearly as nice as this one. The young lady who checked me in acknowledged my Marriott Rewards status and was friendly. The room was a standard one with two Queen beds and the usual work desk with coffee service. The bathroom was nice and the curved shower curtain rail is always a nice plus. I did not use the pool, fitness center or Bistro. All in, it was a nice hotel and I'd have no problem staying here again. read more

I've been at this hotel for three nights now; I am writing this review while enjoying my final trip through their $10.95 breakfast buffet. The previous reviewer was right: this is a regular hotel-nothing flashy about it. But we're in Raleigh, not Las Vegas, so I'm ok with that. The room: I had a room with a single queen bed, which I found to be very comfortable. There were several pillows of varying firmness to choose from, and the sheets were not the typical scratchy hotel sheets. The room has a balcony, too, which I liked. The toiletries provided were standard. My hair smells good and my skin is clean-mission accomplished. You get free Internet access (wireless doesn't work-you have to plug in with the provided Ethernet cable) The breakfast buffet: I thought it was really great! It wasn't extensive or anything, but like I said: we're not in Vegas. The oatmeal was good, the biscuits and gravy was good, the staff refilled my OJ often. The staff: This is the category that really earns the stars. The staff are AWESOME. Of course I can't remember her name now, but she had salt and pepper hair cut into a cool, short style, and she wore glasses. Ring a bell? Anyway. She was quite wonderful. Everyone I came into contact was, but this woman went above and beyond. She was there in the evening when I arrived from the office and she was there in the morning, pouring me orange juice. She arranged all of my transportation... it was just great. I am heading there again for a week in January, and I am looking forward to staying again! read more

Great room for a good night's rest. When Hurricane Matthew comes to town, you run, or try to run. This was home for a few nights and I enjoyed it. I wasn't looking for a fancy Hilton Hotel, but I didn't really want a lower brand type of hotel. This was just the middle. Adequately cleaned with just enough comfort. First thing I did was hop in for a nice hot shower. If I can get hot water fast, it's a win. I did step into the living room area, but just to peek at the patio. Yes, there's a patio that overlooks the courtyard, which is also where the pool is. The weather was yucky but that would have been a great place to sit on a nice, warm day. Now onto the most important part of the room...you guessed it, the bedroom! Great bed, and that's all you need to know. I am not picky; I just need comfortable pillows, soft sheets, and a welcoming mattress. You know it's a good one when you sleep from 11pm-9am and only wake up because you set an alarm. Parking here was very easy, customer service was very pleasant, and the location is close to shopping and highways. Across the street you had a Trader Joe's, nail salon, Melting Pot, burger joint, Advance Auto Parts, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and several other businesses. read more

I just want to start by saying that this place only gets 2.5 stars because of customer service. Cleanliness is a huge issue for me. I stayed here for 2 nights last week. I was in town for a wedding, so I just needed a nice, clean, quiet place to sleep and shower. The gentleman at the front desk was really nice and I found my room with no problems. I was very impressed by the hotel at first. One side of the hotel faces a busy street, so when he asked if I had a floor preference, I asked for a quiet room on the 2nd floor. When I got to my room, all I could hear were motorcycles riding up and down Wake Forest Rd. I decided to just suck it up because I had already brought all my stuff inside. I went to the mall after getting settled, and came back to my room. It was chilly in my room, so I turned on the heat. A roach came out of nowhere and started climbing my curtain. I call the front desk after killing it with my lysol spray. He comps me for one night and moves me to another room. They even helped me carry my stuff to my new room. In this new room, it was quiet, but there were hairs all over the door jamb and "clean towels". I cleaned up with the lysol wipes I always bring with me. I was pretty uncomfortable the rest of my stay. I slept wrapped in my blanket from home on top of the covers the whole time. Needless to say, everything had to be washed asap when I got home. If they renovate and fumigate, this place could be way better! read more

I arrived at NC courtyard on aug 25 11:30am. I know the check in was at 3pm but still wanted to try and check in. Well I did, Bryanna checked me in she asked the reason for my stay I said I was having surgery she said she hoped it was nothing serious, she then proceed to put me in the 1st floor close to the handicap ramp since I was going to have surgery and have me the key and Said I was all set. I was so happy I was able to check in early after my 4 hour drive from VA and Bryanna was amazing and super friendly. I checked out Friday aug 27 and I decided to stop by the front and get breakfast . The guy Im sorry I didn't get his name his was African American he was amazing as well very friendly and polite. The hotel is nice and has a true courtyard. I don't see many courtyards at the Courtyard hotels I stay at. The rooms are good for the price. I knocked off a star for the rather odd single elevator arrangement. The building is a square, yet the only only elevator is in the far corner of the hotel opposite of the check in desk. I have to wonder why there is not a 2nd elevator near check-in. I stay in many hotel rooms a year (well over 100 nights/year) and I would put this Courtyard in the top 20%. read more

Chains just don't typically deserve reviews since they are usually all the same. This one though has two things about it that are awesome. Actual kleenex in the lobby bathrooms, which come in handy when sick during a day long presentation, and loud background music in the same bathroom, which saves you from the grunts, moans, ploops and other disgusting sounds you hear when guys decide to go to town in a public bathroom with a healthy #2. Another good stay at a Courtyard. Upon arriving, the lady at the front desk was calling a restaurant to try to get reservations for a guest, answering the phone, and efficently checking us in. It was pretty impressive and she did a great job. Our room overlooked the courtyard (with an outdoor pool!) and had all the fittings of a normal Courtyard room. Clean and comfortable. Location was pretty good too. It's just 5 minutes from shopping at North Hills and across the street from Trader Joe's and some food options. It's also about 15 minutes from downtown Raleigh. Can't complain about this Courtyard! I'd stay again! read more

Great location, moderate price, updated rooms and lobby with modern fixtures should have earned this courtyard a solid 4 star but it does not for the following reasons: 1. The staff ( both front desk and cafe) though very friendly and courteous were very inept at their jobs and unapologetically moved at a glacial speed irrespective of the time of day. 2. House keeping does a rather sloppy job, did not change my linens despite my request. 3. The "heated pool" is not heated and the front desk staff had no idea about it. 4. Having stayed at a ton of marriott hotels, I feel like I can accurately give a review to reflect the hotel's overall experience. The lobby, after hours, has a key fob that is required for entrance from the outside. It isn't intuitive, so ask for a demo when you check in!! The door keys are the typical cards, but work without sliding them into a slot. They only require you touch the card to the door lock, it's really that simple. The hotel is a bit older, but they work hard at keeping it maintained. My room was clean and not missing any essential. Although, I had to use the stairs to get to the second floor because I couldn't locate an elevator not signs to one. They have a pool area if you need a quick dip. Check in was smooth and check out was smoother. They are not pet friendly, unless you have a service dog! Overall, it was average compared to the more luxurious places within the marriott family of hotels, but certainly not the worst. Happy travels! read more

I am a frequent traveler for my job, and I honestly am not sure why it never occurred to me to review the many mid-tier hotels that I stay at on my trips. This visit, I am in Raleigh for 3 days of training at a local credit union. Typically, I stay in Hilton properties, which frequently means Hampton Inns or Hilton Garden Inns. Marriott properties are my second choice generally when I travel if the Hilton is not available or there isn't a property near by. The staff here is fantastic, everyone is extremely friendly and genuinely helpful. The hotel is clean and the rooms are amply stocked. On this occasion, I happen to have a 1 bedroom suite, which is a nice upgrade. The price of this room is comparable for the area, and all in all, it is a good choice. The property appears a bit dated, but it is well cared for. If I were to pick something to gripe about, it would probably be the $10.95 breakfast buffet. I didn't notice anything about the buffet that made it any better than the buffet that is complimentary at other mid-tier hotels. I am also not a big fan of the hotel layout. I get that the courtyard in the middle serves as a major design feature, but it seems like you always have to walk halfway around the whole complex to get where ever you need to go. This is definitely not an issue with a more vertical design. One feature about Courtyard properties in general that I really do like is the well stocked "Market" at the front desk. Late night snacks, beverages (including beer and wine) are available for purchase. They even offered real wine glasses so that you don't have to use the glasses in the rooms. read more

Stayed here two nights and it's like most of the Courtyards. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Rooms were pretty typical but very clean and no issues there. Used their laundry service which is for guest use. However there is only one washer and one dryer. The good thing is that it only charges $1.00 for each and only takes 30min for each machine. Also big plus the front desk will give you detergent and dryer sheets for free! Just ask! The one thing I don't like about hear places are that here is no breakfast. You have to order from the lobby bar called "The Bistro," and it can get pricey!! If it was a free breakfast I would have given full stars. read more

I really like this location, even though its a somewhat dated property: - Water pressure is excellent in shower - True courtyard to relax, enjoy a cigar and maybe take a dip in the outdoor pool - Decent location to restaurants - Plenty of newspapers by the front desk, including a few copies of the WSJ - Good service at the front desk check-in My only complaints would be the AWFUL layout of the property that has one elevator all the way at the end of the hotel. Ground level is not really ground, as lobby and pool are on the first floor. Ground is lowest level only at the rear of the property and parking. Again not across the whole hotel, just part of it. Parking is a pain at check in and check out, as you have to get keys from front desk and then have to drag your luggage to end of hotel to use the elevator. Second complaint is that the TV always flickers; seems the connection to DirectTV or whatever keeps encountering interference. If the daily rate is decent, worth a stay. read more

The Courtyard Raleigh was excellent all around. When I arrived, I was welcomed by a front desk agent who was professional and friendly. I had noticed there was some sort of biker convention going on that weekend and the front desk agent told me she had put me on the opposite end of the hotel already. The rooms were typical updated-Courtyard Marriott and nicely appointed. I liked that there was a cafe-type restaurant in the lobby - it was obviously not fine dining or room service, but it was a great option if you're hungry and don't feel like leaving the hotel. Internet service is free at Courtyards, and my connection was steady and fast. My room's balcony overlooked the pool which was large and would have been inviting were there not half a dozen eight year olds in it. The hotel's location is very convenient - right off the Beltline (440) and across from a great shopping center. I cannot say enough how impressed I was with the staff - regardless of the shift, the individual on duty greeted me, was attentive to any needs I had, smiled and was most helpful. I have stayed here many times over the past year, for stays as short as three days to as long as three weeks, and this place would always be my first choice in Raleigh. The price is great too - $89 a night on weekends, and you can earn rewards points as well. What's not to like? The staff are friendly and helpful, parking and internet are free, the location is convenient (and right across the street from Trader Joe's), the Bistro is great (although the hours are limited), and the room is always spacious, quiet, and incredibly clean. The beds are comfortable, the pool is nice, and so are the complementary toiletries in the washroom. I also like how the sink is separate from the bathroom area so one person can shower or use the toilet while the other person uses the sink. And for an added bonus - they have a coin operated washer and dryer! This was so useful during my long stay. There are only two issues I have ever had at this hotel - occasionally the air conditioner can be a bit loud, and if you are in a room facing the pool, it can get a bit loud if lots of people are outside (especially with young kids). I have learned to always ask for a room facing the parking lot to avoid this issue. Also, the elevators are a bit far from the entrance. But the lobby is quite nice and modern, the people are great, and the rooms are clean. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's a great place to stay for a short or long period of time. read more

A very 'middle of the road' hotel. There isn't really very much special about this place. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, the water with the big price tag on it was a bit on the tacky side, and the login screen for the internet had a date 4 days old on it (and weather that was 50 degrees off of reality) On the bright side, the water fountain in the courtyard made it sound like the pitter-patter of raindrops which was a bit relaxing. I was approached due to racial motivation by an employee at 1: 30 am on October 9th visiting my boyfriend who is in town for business and celebration at this location but was to exhausted to join the physical celebration . I am celebrating my birthday with my friends and was brought back and was meeting him back at his room, neither of us not knowing the doors locked at a certain time when I was stopped at the door by the lady working the front desk and asked if I was a guest there when the couple who also did not have a key at at the time and was let in by other guest who were passing the doors to go to the mini grocery store. I was the only one stopped and the other couple who looked just as confused as I was about the entry were allowed to proceed. She was extremely rude and I felt completely disrespected. I have been a guest at this location previously before but will never book again. read more

Historically for the past 20 years my job consists of traveling extensively. I am currently relocating to the Raleigh area with a new job. I have been staying in hotels for the past month while I'm searching out a more permanent "home" here in the area. Three of the four weeks I have stayed at this property. I must say that from the manager down these folks have treated me like family. I have always stayed at Marriott properties because of the clean consistent rooms and they have all been wonderful. But, with that being said this property has a exceptional staff. I am looking forward in moving into a much more roomier and permanent location but I must say that I believe I am going to miss these folks who has done more than treat me like a guest. Unknowingly they have made my transition to a new area a lot less stressful and have made my stay a special one. read more

Excellent Experience! I spent 3 nights at this location. It is very clean and inviting, beds are comfortable, hotel is in a quiet area, rooms are modern and everything is in good repair.
