I stayed here on Labor Day of 2018, after I had spent the day at Carowinds with a friend who is local to the area. The prices are on the high end, but this is a hotel with high end standards. Walking in the late afternoon/early evening, I was promptly greeted by a lovely young lady with strawberry blond hair. I wish I could remember her name. Anyway, she got me a room at the lowest price. I was on the side facing I-77, but I could hear NO highway noise at all. One Queen bed, flat screen TV mounted on the wall. A refrigerator and microwave hidden away in a cabinet. I had a bad headache settling in behind my eyes from spending all day in the sun. I went back to the front desk as I noticed they had sundry items for sale. The strawberry blond haired lady was with her niece, but stopped everything to give me some of her own ibuprofen so I would not have to purchase it, and I got some Gatorade. That was SO nice of her, she did not have to do that at all. There was a small café area in the lobby, but I did not get anything from there. I am so grateful for this lovely hotel. I will be back again if I am in the area again. It is very close to the highway and easy to get in and out. There is an Outback Steakhouse within walking distance as well. Several gas stations are close by to get gas and go. read more

For starters there aren't many hotel options that are above a 3-star in the area. That being said, this may be one of the worst. The rooms are not well lit, wallpaper peeling off the walls, and poor indoor pool that reeks of chlorine. Don't let the hotel pictures deceive you! Parking is free so that's a plus. This property is unsafe and simply awful. There was no warning that half of the of the 2nd floor would be closed for construction. Yet, I was placed in a room right beside the image below, where transient workers came and went all day. There are no security checks, anyone can enter the hotel and take the elevator to any floor, and no one answers the front desk phone. After endless ringing, I went downstairs at 11pm to find a sign stating "We are temporarily away from the front desk and will return shortly." It's 12:03am and no one has returned. I suppose Marriott's definition of "shortly" is relative. read more

The hotel is in a great location, easy on and off the highway. There are also a good variety of restaurants nearby to choose from. The hotel itself is pretty basic, just like any other courtyard. They did have a cafe with some good choices if you didn't want to eat out but our room on the first floor smelled musty and the bathroom was kind of...used. The star of the hotel, though, was Brittany at the front desk. Delightful, efficient and really pleasant! read more

The hotel was located close to the highway. And they provide a bottle of water and some snacks to elite members. These were probably the only two positives about the hotel. The hotel is run down. The service is abysmal. The TVs are old and they don't work properly. I had booked a king bedroom, they gave me one with two queens instead. The Netflix wouldn't connect on the TV in the room. Reported the problem on Day 1 of my stay, stayed for 3 nights the problem was never fixed. Out of the two queen beds, the sheets on one of them were not changed between the reservations. It was clearly slept in with hair on it. Gross! read more

Hello, there are some pros and cons about this hotel. For example the beds shake while you are sleeping. Also the resteraunt breakfast in the hotel undercooked my bacon. One of the plusses is that the hotel rooms are pretty nice. But overall it is not that nice of a hotel. read more

Stayed here overnight on my way to Charleston SC. I always try to stay at a Marriott brand because I know I'm getting quality. Plus their beds are the most comfortable. This courtyard is nice, clean and modern. The rooms have a weird 70's vibe to them that just doesn't work for me. My room was designed just weird looking. But the bed was as comfy as always. A bit disappointed this morning when I went down to grab a bite to eat from the Bistro I so happily read about on the sign in the elevator and room. The Bistro is closed until further notice and not serving any food other than a croissant, muffin, or bagel. No delicious avocado toast. It was 9:30 and I asked where I could get some food and the lady told me she didn't know. Hmm. Anyway I asked for a coffee. She said she was closing but would pour me a cup anyway since she was just going to throw it out. Wait what? Who stops serving coffee and bagels at 9:30 am? I was quite disappointed in this. I am not sure if it's a Marriott policy or just the local management. Anyway it's not the usual Marriott experience I'm used to. I do understand that global shortages have made it hard to provide adequate services. However they should not have signs posted everywhere promoting their delicious Bistro. read more

So i was here back in Janurary for a business trip for a conference. The staff at the front were really nice. However upon check out i realized i had left my brand new cologne bottle! I called and they said they couldnt find it. I couldnt believe it, it was there! I spoke to the manager and he said they must of accidently thrown it away? really they threw away a big expensive bottle? LOL. He was so unhelpful and rude, yes the manager! Just for that i will never stay here again and wouldnt reccomend it! Ive been back 2 other times but stayed at different hotels. read more

Stay away! This location is apparently a den of parking lot vandalism and theft. Four vehicles, including mine had windows broken and items stolen during my one night stay. Management seemed uninterested and stated that they do not have cameras in the lots as they casually called the police. I have since found out that they have been asked by the police to install cameras due to the frequency of issues, but they have not. The police have placed their own camera to try to catch the guilty parties, but it does not cover the entire parking lot. Avoid this location! read more

Coffee drinker? Stay away. History- we have been Mariott Bonvoy members for many years. Have stayed in Courtyards all over the country because typically the properties are nice, service is good. We had two rooms,. One had a broken toilet seat. The other had the cover of the in- wall heat unit sitting on the floor in front of the unit. TVs in both rooms were the smallest in any hotel we've stayed at in recent memory. Here's the big one- the coffee. We're coffee drinkers, and we expect it to be in the room for us to make when we get up. When I went to make it, only decaf packets for the coffee maker. That's fine, housekeeping mistake, or new policy, whatever, surely the front desk would have some. Nope. When I asked the desk clerk if they would be making coffee in the lobby for guests? Nope. I was told the cafe would be open eventually and I could buy their Starbucks coffee when it opened. So back to the room, got dressed and headed out to Quick Trip to bring coffee back to our rooms. This, to me, is unacceptable, and counter to what I have come to expect from this hotel chain or even what, until today, I had considered to be inferior chains. Quick Trip coffee was excellent, as was a second cup at Waffle House. Will not stay here again. - One shining star (the only one this reviewer can give) was Cheyenne, who checked us in when we arrived, and let us borrow a corkscrew. She was delightful. Upon checking out, the clerk told my wife that he had eventually found some regular coffee for the room. Too little, too late. read more

This hotel was nasty. From the untrained, rude, staff at the door to the filthy room to the even filthier courtyard. The fire pit area was disgusting but didn't work anyway. I've stayed in Marriott's all across the country but I'll never return to this one. Clean the place up!!!!! read more

2 stars for the cleanliness of the entire hotel and room only. They did let us check in early, and customer service was very nice. Booked a 4 person room which to them was a king bed and a pull out which was smaller then a twin bed. Stayed in the room next to the elevator and it sounded like a war zone all night, every time the elevator would be used it bang and boom so loud. When anyone open and close doors you could hear it clearly in the room. Pool was drained due to COVID, seems they're taking it very extreme, in a lot of hotels in SC we stayed at amenities were open but we assume since it's close to Charlotte that they are following NC ridiculously strict guidelines. read more

We've stayed here yearly when heading to vacation and we have always been happy with this hotel in the past. It was what you'd expect from a Marriott property. This year, it has gone downhill at record speed. We had 2 rooms and both smelled of mold or mildew. The garbage can out from was overflowing with trash. The staff that checked me in wasn't only unfriendly but they were downright rude. I won't ever stay here again despite the great location. read more

Beautifully renovated and classy. Clean and comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants, cocktails and ice cream. Pricey but not for the location and nicely renovated rooms. Need a little help with customer service with a staff member who checked me in but I will say management swiftly resolved my problems which makes up for the problem. Walls are thin you can hear people talking and closing doors at all hours. Extra sheets in closet were wet, bath tub stopper broken. Staff not very friendly and no continental breakfast. Toilet plumbing also poor. Came to room after noon and room was still not cleaned. Not what I expect from a Marriott chain. Will not be staying here again. read more

PLEASE DON"T STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE DRIVING!! MY CAR WAS ONE OF 8 BURGLARIZED CARS LAST WEEK AT THEIR FRONT PARKING LOT AND THEY DON'T TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING. cars?? isn't that way too many for no one to notice??? I stayed at the Marriott Courtyard at Rock Hill on Wednesday, July 25th. Only for one night. I got to the hotel around midnight and parked in the Hotel lot not far from the front entrance. I woke up next morning and was ready to go to work when I got to my car and there was a post-it note on the window "your car has been broken into, please go back to the front desk to receive Police information" The back window on the passenger side was broken and everything in the car was gone. Thankfully it wasn't a lot since it was a rental and I only had some chargers a jacket, change of shoes and a small bag. I went back to the front desk and the woman handed me a police card with the agents info. The police came when the incident happened at 3:30 am but since they didn't know who's car it was, no one could call me. Mine was one of 8 CARS THAT WERE VANDALIZED AT THE PARKING LOT OF THE HOTEL that night. Some were stolen and some like mine just broken into. In the parking lot there were some signs stating that the hotel was not responsible for the cars. I had to go to the police station to get the report and then started calling the hotel and asking to please talk to the general manager, I knew they were not going to pay for my window, the damaged frame or anything in the car, but was expecting at least a reduction on the fare for the night when this happened to me. I called MANY times and left several messages for the General Manager Karen Espinales both with the front desk person who answered every time as well as voice messages on her office asking her to please call me back, but almost a week later, I still haven't heard from her. I did however managed to speak the next day with Melvin Clark, Guest Care Manager who was less than apologetic, understanding or even compassionate. I then reached out to Marriott Customer Care and they contacted the hotel and opened a case, so I got the attached email from him full of lies, saying that he apologized and that I told them that there was nothing in the car... The incident was really bad, but what really was worse than everything else was the TOTAL LACK OF COSTUMER SERVICE. read more

Do NOT stay at this hotel. I am business traveler and had to change my travel plans at the last minute and they refuse to refund my stay even though I cancelled the day before. Have never had this issue with any other Marriott of Hilton property. Stay away and save the headache. Marriott should pull their flag from this place. read more

Stayed at this beautiful property recently. You can definitely tell that the hotel has been recently renovated. The staff was extremely friendly, and had a lot of knowledge about the area. Melvin checked me in and was very courteous. I highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the Rock Hill area. Great property for business, leisure, or for your sporting events. read more

Stayed here twice in the last 2 months and have been pleased with my stay each time. The hotel is clean and modern, the staff is friendly. The rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. The beds are comfortable, the showers are clean. The lobby sitting area is nice, offering plenty of room - dining tables, comfy chairs to watch TV, and a bar area. The lobby restaurant is good for breakfast (starbucks, yogurt parfaits, eggs etc). Lobby has free tea and coffee available 24/7. read more

My room smelled of mildew to the extreme. I didn't realize how bad it was until I rolled over in the middle of the night and realized the pillows and bedding reeked of mildew. I left 3 hours early for my meeting because I needed fresh air so bad. read more

I would NOT stay at the Courtyard Rock Hill until the hotel solves the problem of the smell in the guest rooms. It may be paint smell from renovations or from the cleaning solution they use, but it's overwhelming. I tried two different rooms with no difference, and my two colleagues reported the same in their rooms. Also, it's VERY difficult to exit onto the main street during high traffic times. We had to wait through 3-4 long red lights--twice--to get out. read more

I am basing this review solely on the cost to amenities that are provided. We reserved a king room online through Marriott. We paid $169.00 + tax. It came to $190.00. The room was smaller than I expected. It was clean but obviously older. Everything but the flatscreen tv appeared dated. The carpet was stained. There was a small microwave and refrigerator pushed against the wall with a single brew coffee maker on top. There was a nice sized balcony in which you could eat or just sit outside. The bathroom was divided into two sections. A toilet and shower room and a sink and closet outside of it. The sink was clogged and drained slowly. I took a shower in the morning and there was a bath mat on the floor of the tub. They were obviously covering up some damage in the tub because when I stood on it it was caving in making me have to stand knock kneed. Very uncomfortable shower experience. I tried to lift the tub mat up to see what was wrong but it was permanently glued down. There is no coffee in the lobby and the Bistro is like a glorified bar, very little food to choose from. There is also no breakfast included. All in all I feel like we should have paid about $89 a night instead of a whopping $169. We won't return for that price. Needs too many updates. read more

We (2 adults, 2 small kids) recently spent 4 days, 3 nights at the Courtyard Marriot in Rock Hill and we were extremely pleased. Hotel itself is very nice, clean and modern. The decor is pretty impressive. The room was great and the bed was super comfy. They don't do a free breakfast but the cafe they have there was very good with starbucks coffee and a good selection of breakfast times. We ate breakfast there every morning and it wasn't crazy expensive at all. We also did a dinner there one night and we were very pleased. What impressed me most about this hotel was the hospitality. These guys have it nailed. I don't know if it was a southern thing or what, but the staff was so friendly, so polite and so welcoming. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyway and we will stay here again when we are back in the area. read more
