In some ways it feels odd giving a Courtyard Marriott five stars, but honestly for this level of hotel, I can't imagine it being any better. Over the holidays we had several family Christmas's planned back to back, and decided that the best way to make it all work would be to drive to Salina on Christmas night to stay for one evening. I had some points with Marriott so when I found this location we decided it was a good one to try. I used their app, and for the first time ever did check-in remotely and got a digital key. I was glad we did because we ended up staying pretty late in Manhattan and then were hit with some freezing rain and snow on the way to Salina amounting in us not arriving until around 10 or 11pm. After we got there though, it was seamless, the key worked, check-in was easy with the app, and we found ourselves in a really clean, modern, and comfortable room. I was so grateful, especially given that it was Christmas to have a nice place to check into at the end of a busy and fun day. In the morning it was just as easy to head out the door and onto the rest of our holiday festivities. We have a lot of family in central Kansas so I remarked to my husband that this might be our go-to hotel for next time we need a quick place to stay while in the area. Bottom line - this is a very solid choice in Salina. Clean, comfortable, easy to get in and out. read more

My recent stay at the Courtyard in Salina was perfect. I was in Salina with about 20 friends for a college reunion. The staff was very courteous and helpful in accommodating our group! PRO - the 2 staff members I encountered were very nice. The place was CLEAN CON - no free breakfast or coffee shower did not drain well NO water pressure in shower asked for a cappuccino at the "Starbucks" in the lobby, got a black coffee with foam milk. overall super disappointed and will not be back They also told me that "animals" were not allowed even though I had a service animal. I was still allowed to check in with no fee but not only is that illegal on the federal level, it's also illegal on the KS state law level. read more

Marriotts are always clean and classy. We have stayed at a number of them. This one is new and very basic. More basic than I would have expected. No hairdryer. Very small room although we got the king sized bed. Not turned off by this hotel, but not super excited about it either. read more

Passing through Kansas On my way to Phoenix from Carmel Indiana... Needed to stop it ended up at this particular courtyard Marriott. This is one of the top rated courtyard Marriott's I've have ever stayed in... The folks that work here are absolutely spectacular.. Super friendly, super professional and extremely attentive. The hotel is exceedingly clean and inviting... I was actually worried about getting a hotel in Salina and what quality I would get.. And, if all that wasn't enough... They have FOXNews plans... Which is a five star rating all on its own for me... And it appears that all the other guests like it as well.. As I've heard several comment on it believe it or not... If they can't stand CNN it finally a Marriott hotel with Fox News... Do yourself a favor... If you're anywhere in the area there's no other hotel I go to besides this one... To be honest I've had negative experiences with several here... It will exception of the Hilton Garden Inn... Which seems to have the same feel to it... Maybe the managers are related or something... Well I have stayed here quite a few times but things have changed since I was here last. I arrive and the have a major Gackle problem (google it - it is like a crow but noisier and more aggressive) and it is Spring so they are nesting and really aggressive. They had fake owls up so at least they are trying. I get inside get my room completely dirty and obviously not cleaned since the last occupant. Towels on the bathroom floor; unmade bed. I go back down and they are very apologetic and after asking I get an upgrade to a suite. Still kind of a dingy room. Need to get new furniture. Then the bathroom has ants everywhere. I bet I killed 50. It happens it had been warm and turned cold the ants went inside. Finally I had breakfast included and I guess with COVID-19 protocols they have cut there menu to just a microwaved croissant. It was horrible and I felt sick most of the day. Obviously can't pin it on that. I am hoping they can pull it together. Other stays say back in 2016-19 were great. Staff are all very cordial and friendly and other stays were good, hence the 2*. read more

Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well laid out with extra touches. Beds are comfortable enough. The walls are paper thin! I was woken up at a ridiculous hour by a couple having the most boring conversation next door. The floors also creak so if someone walks around above you you won't get any sleep either. This hotel is great, but with the amount it costs, I'd like to get some sleep. (House keeping also comes around at about 9am..) read more

We had a very nice handicapped room to take care of my parents. We had one circumstance that was certainly out of the norm and was very inconvenient; however, the manager, Kara Cox, listened to our concerns and responded with fairness, understanding and compassion. When things happen, you can't change them...but she certainly went the whole distance to make certain we were satisfied and taken care of. In an imperfect world, it's nice to know these business still exist: ones that honestly care about the experience and wellbeing of their patrons. This review may be long but it will be accurate. I was planning on attending a wrestling tournament in Salina KS on Jan 29th 2016. Our wrestling club had called down to this hotel and reserved a block of rooms for our team to be able to stay together. We have done this many times at many hotels. The email went out to the team with details on rooms for a set rate and limited number of rooms. I called the hotel on Jan 21st to reserve my room. I identified myself and our room block as well as the team name and rate/date. When things were confirmed I planned on attending with my wife and son. Upon checking in, the woman, (loose characterization) asked me dryly for my confirmation number or last name. I give it to her and she almost happily tells me they have nothing and "sorry" but who's next. I finally dig up my email with the number (keep in mind I spend 1-2 nights per week in hotels traveling for my career) and she tells me I had a room it was just booked for the 22nd. She shows me smugly in the confirm email which I took for granted to be the 29th IN OUR HOTEL BLOCK OF OVER 12 rooms at a NEGOTIATED RATE weeks if not months before. Keep in mind my family is 4 hours away from home. We are tired as its past 8:00 cst and we had been traveling all day to make it down after work to weigh in our son. The other important tidbit is this tournament is big. It hosts over 1500 kids at one time. This puts hotel rooms at a very pretty premium so you HAD BETTER HAVE A BLOCK OF ROOMS BOOKED which we did! So after being told: 1. I don't have a room 2. It wasn't her fault 3. There was nothing she could do 4. I needed to check my confirm email closer 5. I can't have her last name 6. It wasn't her fault I was charged and never notified 7. She didn't set up the block so what does she want her to do 8. She can't give me a number of the manager 9. She won't give me a refund She gives me some number that is a Texas number and prompts me to send a fax. There is no answering service or anywhere to leave a message. Basically she tossed a family in a town with no rooms, and a charge for a nights stay, with a son who needs to wrestle at 8:30 am the next morning a cinder block instead of a life vest. I dig up a number at courtyard and spend 30 minutes on the phone which over 10-15 mins of I was left on hold. When the "service rep" comes back on the line she says she has let the hotel know and someone will contact me in 3-5 business days. I'm speechless!! My family is now without a room. We paid for a room. We booked a room and now we will be sleeping on the floor of someone's room like a bunch of hobos who don't have the resources, wherewithal, and intelligence to properly book a hotel room. Which by the way I book and check in and out of over 75 nights per year for the past 8-10 years. I have always been told it takes 1000 times to learn something. Trust me when I say, I have learned to book a room! To close the call with the lady from corporate I asked her what my options were and she told me she didn't know. She could help me find a new hotel room but by this time the cup had run over. I guess I will figure it out myself. Courtyard has done plenty for the Ziola's this weekend. I get to go back to work on Monday after a horrific weekend. Thanks courtyard! There are plenty of great reviews on this hotel and for that I congratulate the business. Unfortunately, business are often times judged by how they service people when they are unhappy or feel wronged and under this test courtyard in Salina failed. They failed my family. They failed my son who worked hard to get on weight and come compete against his peers. I don't know how he is going to do but I can't help but wonder if a good night's sleep provided by his parents hard work would have made a difference. The woman working was easily one of the worst customer service people I have done business with. I understand she is not a high level executive with years of problem solving on her resume. You would think she could offer more empathy or help or support than its not my fault and you need to do a better job of reviewing the confirm emails we send. That is your responsibility not ours. I guess I will take my nightly stays at other hotels who value my business. Courtyard is out! read more

Nice Hotel, remodeled recently. Friendly service. Pool is small, and workout room is small. Breakfast isn't free, but they have a nice selection in the morning. They have a lot of yogurt and fresh fruit selections, and some hot choices. Rooms are nice and clean, and have the normal stuff, flat screen TV and a king bed for me. read more

A very attractive property with generally friendly staff. However, if you have respiratory problems this is not the place for you. The scent of floral infusors in the hallways was so dense and strong that it was hard to breathe. Also, the WiFi is so unreliable as to make it unusable. Ended up using a hot spot off my phone. This might be related to my room location - top floor at the far end of the hall - but as a professional I really need reliable service. When I called the front desk they said there wasn't anything wrong with their WiFi and offered to transfer me to their "IT Department" (which I'm sure is some off-site vendor). Had no problems using the hot spot, so no, it was not my computer and yes, there is something wrong with their WiFi. read more

I usually stay at Hilton hotels but the Hampton was booked. I was very surprised at the comfort of the beds and pillows. It was just as good as the Hampton. The rooms and all facilities were very clean and also had a very friendly staff. Yes they charge for breakfast and it's expensive but there is a taco shop across the parking lot.
