Drom Sott (which means "sweet dreams" in Swedish) feels like you're staying in someone's cozy home. The rooms are impeccable and everything is arranged just so. The bed is super comfortable. The lobby has large couches and chairs tucked into nooks that you can relax in. My room was on the smaller side, but it was perfect for a single person (which I visited as) or two people who don't mind sharing a small room. A generous Scandinavian buffet breakfast is included with your stay. Options at breakfast included crepes with lingonberry jam, hardboiled eggs, herring, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and lots more. My favorite part of Drom Sott: Adult guests are welcome to visit the wine bar downstairs during their stay for a glass of complementary wine. Or two! There are also some little nibbly things (pretzels and Chex mix-ish snacks) to eat as you drink your wine. I drank my wine and then left the hotel to explore the cute Swedish neighborhood. Well, let me tell you about my stay at the Coronado Motel…read more.. I walk into the lobby, with my SERVICE DOG who was wearing her vest, and the woman says, "Oh, you have a pet." I state that she is a service dog but was told I am being charged $25 for a pet fee. I again state that she is a service dog, but she keeps calling her a pet. I told her fine and we would leave and she then tells me that I will still be charged because I didn't give 24 hours notice, which would be hard since I made the reservation 3 hours before I checked in. I said she is in non-compliance of the ADA. She said, "Do you have papers?". This is not allowed, but I showed her the physician recommendation papers on my phone which she did not look at. She then tells me we can't stay in the room we reserved because some people might be allergic to dogs that will stay after me. I didn't attempt to bring up she couldn't restrict us as service dogs have access to all rooms. She scratched out the $25 and looked at my service dog and said, "I feel sorry for you because he doesn't love you." My service dog is my protector and my service dog, who has a name, Ellie, knows I love her as much as much as she loves me. As a handicapped person, it is hurtful when someone like this says and does these things. We did stay the night, but here is my advice: If you are going to stay at the Coronado Motel, and if you are handicapped, be prepared to be ridiculed about your service dog and also be prepared for complete ignorance of the AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT. And just so they know for the next person: Key ADA Hotel Requirements for Service Dogs  * Access: Service animals are allowed in guest rooms, restaurants, and other public areas. * Fees: No pet fees or deposits can be charged for a service dog. * Room Restrictions: Hotels cannot restrict guests with service dogs to specific "pet-friendly" rooms; they must have access to all rooms. * Allowed Inquiries: Staff may only ask two questions: (1) Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?. * Documentation: Hotels cannot require proof of training or certification. * Behavior: The service dog must be under control at all times (leashed or harnessed, unless that interferes with tasks). A dog that is unruly, barking, or dangerous can be asked to leave. * Definition: Only dogs (and, in limited cases, miniature horses) trained to perform specific tasks are covered. Rooms are traditional and nothing spectacular but they are clean, well kept and they smell nice. The king suite has an extra seating area with a couch and work station which is nice. Two big tv's if that's matters and a small fridge and plenty of storage and plugs for devices. Near this hotel is a variety of fast food restaurants, Flyjng J gas station, Walmart, Bomgars, Starbucks and a quick five minutes to downtown McPherson. You can still get a room for $94/night on occasion but rarely over $130/night. Breakfast is to avoid because it's all processed but there is a decent gym and a pool which I have never used. There is a small concessions area near the front with a very limited selection of food and sundries. Angel is the manager and she is great to work with groups and deliver great customer service.

Then you need to stay at The Historic Wolf Hotel in Ellinswood, Kansas. This hotel is haunted, according to the locals. They've seen things. Stuff happens in the rooms. I visited this hotel with a couple who had stayed here once, and they refused to stay a second time because they had experienced paranormal activity. Fair enough. I was booked for an overnight stay, and I admit, I was a little scared. My room looked like a Victorian dollhouse. There were mirrors in the room, and every time I looked in the mirrors, I expected to see a spirit. I don't believe in this kind of stuff, but I also don't not believe in it. Who am I to say these ghosts at The Historic Wolf Hotel don't exist? Maybe they do. But, it turns out, if they do exist, they didn't want to visit me. No, no ghosts visited me during my stay at the hotel. Whew. If you want a restful night's stay, I suggest packing a sleeping mask and ear plugs, because the only thing keeping you up at night will most likely be the trains that pass by every few hours that honk their horns. This hotel is located directly in front of an active train track, so you will be treated to train horns galore. The hotel, as a place to stay, is really neat. It has a common kitchen and dining room, with snacks and breakfast foods available to guests (think cereal, muffins, granola bars, etc.) You also have access to the Keurig coffee pot, which makes a nice cup of coffee. You can enjoy your little breakfast in your room, or in the shared dining room / sitting room. It's a pleasant place to relax. One thing to mention: The only way up to the rooms is via a steep series of stairs. So if you have a hard time climbing stairs or are in a wheelchair, this hotel might not be for you. The hotel also hosts lunches and dinners, and I happened to be here to sit for a dinner. We got a salad, main course and dessert, as it was lovely. I mentioned this in a different review, but across the street is the underground tunnel tour, which is definitely worth doing.

That's kind of the issue with this place, everything needs a deep cleaning. Pool and spa- 8 stars. It was nice and we enjoyed the hot tub! Breakfast was exactly what you would expect for a hotel. The breakfast was nice and the area was clean. Noise level here was terrible and we found it difficult to sleep. I think it's due to the cheep/thin windows. We were kept awake all night by freeway noise. This place is RIGHT NEXT to a major freeway, so it's jake breaks all night long. And then you'll wake up to voices in the hall outside your room because there are gaps in the door frame letting in all the noise from the hallway. The noise level here is the main reason for the 2 star rating.
