I have been a Marriott Platinum Elite member for over 25 years and have always been loyal to the brand. For a recent event in Escondido, I chose this Courtyard (7 miles away) and booked it using my points. We checked in around 6pm and were greeted warmly by the front desk staff. We dropped our bags and headed to our event. Upon returning around midnight, the issues began. The toilet would not flush unless the handle was held down the entire time. There were only about four tissues left in the dispenser with no replacement. When we turned down the bed, we found three regular pillows and one very small square pillow stuffed into a king-size pillowcase. The mattress was severely concave -- it was obvious this bed should have been replaced years ago. We spent a miserable night trying to sleep in a sagging bed. In the morning, sunlight poured through multiple holes in the blackout curtains. (If we had been on the first floor, this would have been a legitimate safety concern.) The shower dispenser had zero conditioner. The TV remote did not work, so I couldn't even watch the news while getting ready. At checkout around 10am, I politely informed the front desk staff of all these issues and specifically asked to speak with the manager, Ian A. The associate was very nice and assured me that Ian would call me before noon. That call never came. The hotel is located in a beautiful, affluent part of the San Diego suburbs, which made the poor room condition even more disappointing. As a long-time Platinum Elite member, I expect far better than this, especially when paying with hard-earned points. This experience fell well below Marriott standards.

I honeslty chose this location becaue of the park behind the hotel for our dog Emi but after staying I would come back. This location is a no frills , no room service, no over the top services as far as spas etc. What is was , it was quite, felt safe, decent rates, clean-to my standards. The hotel food though overpriced was decent when everything else nearby is closed. The coffee was good , I didn't get a chance to do the bar, maybe next time. What I didn't like and it could have been the room we where given, maybe a higher priced room would have been different but the accessible bathroom althougth " accessible" as far as in space wise was not really accessible if I actually was 100% wheelchair bound. One it was ugly, I mean ugly. looked like a restroom at a rest stop. second it had no real vanity, they literraly threw small a$$ table in the bathroom and called it a day. The toliet looked like the ones in my highschool gym. and the mirror couldn't see myself while I was sitted in my wheelchair and the sliding pocket door kept breaking and coming off the railings. Overall the stay was comfort with a side of ugly.

I really wanted to thank Therese at the front desk. Talk about customer service. As I walked in, I was greeted with a big hello and the check in process was quick and seamless, she explained the parking, the room, the "bistro", etc. Easy peasy, and you can't miss that smile. She seemed like she actually wanted to be at work: As for the double bed room, it was perfect for my son and I. The bed was comfy, the WiFi was fast, AC was cold, and cable tv and large in-room TV worked perfectly. They have shampoo, conditioner, and liquid soap dispensers in the bathroom. We were out here for a 2-day golf tournament at Rancho Bernardo In which was less than a mile away. Phil's BBQ was also less than a mile away. Overall a nice stay for a quick junior golf weekend trip to San Diego! I was also able to late check out at 12pm.

The hotel is nice. Not meant to be like a 'wow' hotel but it's a good one. It's seems like it's a one night stay or over the weekend. The bathroom in the room is kind of like a house bathroom, with tiled shower and stuff of that nature. The hotel has a cafe/bistro and a little convenience store. The people at the front desk are friendly and greet you as you enter. Overall pretty good, but as we all know there is always better.

We had to vacate our house for three days for fumigation, and I figured, if I have to be out of the house, I should at least relocate to a hotel close to the office. Bonus points that we could hunker down with the dogs, as well. The thing is, this hotel is pet-friendly, but not pet-ready - or pet-welcoming - if you get the difference. Yes, we paid a $150 non-refundable deposit to keep them with us (though the document I signed at check-in said the deposit was $100; I checked with the front desk guy and he confirmed it is $150...maybe they should update their forms...) Yes, we paid more for a ground-floor room to make it easier to get them in and out, and for the pleasure of having an enclosed balcony. But when I say the hotel wasn't pet-ready or welcoming, I mean that there was no outdoor space designated for pet relief. We took them as far from the front doors as we could, but grassy areas on their property were few and far between. And it's a good thing I have extra poopy bags in the car because no pet relief area, no pet relief clean-up. And they didn't even have trash cans in front of the hotel. We ended up using the cans on the neighboring property to drop their used poop bags (though we saw many people just letting their dogs dump and walking away.) The room was at least comfortable and large enough for us to spread out for those three days. My husband was remote that week, so he posted up at their desk, and we rolled the "bonus desk" out for me to work that first day (not ideal, the bed was too high for the desk so I was hunched over for the majority of the day.) The patio was definitely worth it - between being able to get fresh air and having a semi-private space to hang out (there were two chairs and a small table out there), it was nice to have outdoors space when we needed it. The beds were comfortable enough, though their Queen size beds seemed smaller than what I'm used to for some reason. I'm sure that was just my perception. The pillows were hotel pillows - meaning too soft for one but too fluffy for two - but they worked for me. I gotta say, I didn't hate having access to A/C during the heat wave that week. The room had a small fridge, which we used, and a small microwave, which we did not. The bathroom was large and the shower had good water pressure, but it was hard to find the sweet spot in the temperature; it felt like we either got too hot or too cold. Parking is typically $15 a day, but they were running a special when we were there, so the parking was free. The lot is big, if a little run-down. We did park under a tree towards the back on our first night and came back the next morning to a handful of ants tooling around the dashboard. There also isn't any shade to speak of, so if you're there in the summer, be prepared. The WiFi worked well enough, especially the day we were both working remotely, which was something we concerned about (unnecessarily, as it turned out.) Staff was mostly distant, though there was one front desk agent that couldn't stop himself from loving up on the puppies when he saw them. All in all a decent stay that was minutes away from my office, with lots of shopping, dining and coffee options close by.

View from 2nd floor outside our window That's a trail you can walk around recommend bug spray due to water with ducks, fish, etc.

Upon arrival was greeted by an amazing front worked T.Tuilma I forgot to take down her name but nothing but great service! Everyone entering and leaving greeted, rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and pool was clean. Great for families and also it's very quiet here which is perfect!

Place was ok. Spent one night; came in and out. No complimentary breakfast provided, you must purchase it along with your reservation. However, there is a bistro available serving limited items from Starbucks.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful little place to walk outside. The bistro had a yummy flatbread for breakfast and Starbucks drinks. Comfy beds. The pool and jacuzzi was nice as well!

We had family staying for Thanksgiving and the Courtyard RB had availability. The location is great, close enough to the 15 freeway to hop on and off and drive wherever you need to go but far enough away that there is some tranquility and you are able to relax a bit before feasting with the family. From check-in to checkout the staff was amazing, super friendly and helpful. My 94 year old Grandma was staying and they did their best to get her a ground floor room as close to the front as they could. The rooms were nice and spacious, we had a double queen which overlooked the beautiful duck pond at Webb Park. The hotel also offers fresh coffee, hot cocoa, cookies (PB and chocolate chip) and all the fixings. Both the hotel and staff were super welcoming.

I am so happy I found this place via AARP! Located in the heart of the Gaslamp District, I had never heard of this hotel prior to searching. Upon checking in, the desk clerk was very friendly, efficient, and answered any questions that I had. As for the room, he put us up on the top (4th) floor. Room is the perfect size for two people. Very clean, warm, inviting, and has some really cute and convenient amenities such as a pineapple themed USB quad port at the desk, along with a Keurig machine (had I known that I'd have brought my own Starbucks K-cups)! The bed was nice and comfy with lots of soft but supportive pillows and two separate comforter blankets so you're not fighting for covers if you are sharing the bed with someone or your significant other. Bathroom is very modern and clean. A hairdryer is hanging in the bathroom as well. The only item missing was an iron and an ironing board; however, you can request that at the front desk. If you are looking for a hotel with a gym, laundry facilities on site, and a full breakfast buffet or continental breakfast, then this place is not for you; however, if those things don't matter to you {I typically look for those types of hotels during a longer stay) then this hotel is all you need. You also get other unexpected creature comforts such as Starbucks coffee in the lounge along with 4 different blends of water as well as these cute pineapple cookies in the afternoon. Based in Seattle, WA, I am so happy I found this chain as I will be on the lookout and consider staying in other cities. Parking is available in a garage connected to the hotel next door for a fee. Also, bikes are available in the lobby for getting around (not sure if gratis or for a fee). I definitely recommend staying here! One small recommendation for the hotel: provide rooms with a small microwave and mini fridge to reheat leftovers. It all worked out as I gave a homeless guy mine.

He remembered us throughout our weekend, which was a big plus in my book. While the lobby may not be as expansive as some other high-end hotels, my focus wasn't on lounging around there. I get that some reviewers might expect more amenities, but this is Downtown San Diego. The design and structure fit perfectly with the surroundings, and I personally appreciate a place that keeps the riff-raff at bay. Once we checked into our room, I found the space thoughtfully designed, and the staff promptly addressed the minor issues we encountered. Though the hotel doesn't boast a massive pool, located on the 3rd floor, the staff provided excellent food and beverage service. The gym, overlooking the pool, was well-equipped for a proper workout, and I was pleased to find that the equipment was in good condition and saw little use. While the location is excellent, there were several things that made the stay less enjoyable. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. There isn't an air vent in the living room, so if you have additional guests sleeping on the sofa bed, they receive very little airflow. Most of the cool air stays in the bedroom, especially if the sliding door is closed. Even with the door open, the living room never cooled down enough to be comfortable. Another downside is the bathroom layout. The only bathroom is located inside the bedroom, which means anyone sleeping in the living room has to walk through the bedroom to use it. If you're planning to share the suite with family or friends, this layout isn't very practical. We also ordered room service, and our order was prepared incorrectly. After calling to have it corrected, it took over an hour for them to bring the replacement meal. Since the mistake was on the hotel's end, that wait time was unacceptable. I was also surprised that the hotel doesn't have a small convenience section for snacks, drinks, or forgotten essentials like toothpaste or mouthwash. Instead, you'll need to walk a couple of blocks to a 7-Eleven or CVS to pick up basic items. The best part of this hotel is its location. It's directly next to Petco Park, and there's a bridge that takes you straight to the stadium, making it incredibly convenient for baseball fans and helping you avoid going through the regular lines. Overall, if you're staying specifically to attend a game or concert at Petco Park, the location is great. However, if you're simply looking for a hotel in downtown San Diego, I think there are likely better options that offer more comfort and convenience for the price.

We were initially booked on the 9th floor, the floor connecting to the rooftop bar. We had to ask to switch rooms/floors due to heavy foot traffic on the 9th floor and also due to the noise coming from the next door occupant. There are homeless folks walking around the area so just be aware. There were a few hiccups but overall a comfortable stay.

Our original plan was a beach day at the Del but sewage from Tijuana changed that and the flags remained red. You couldn't get that close for pictures either. So instead we walked the grounds, explored the history of the hotel and found out it is a Hilton brand for future visits. Definitely a must see!
