    Their "avocado" toast.
    Wendy M.

Stayed 4 nights in Aug 2025. The good: room was clean, did not smell. (I was on 3rd floor; coworker on 2nd floor said the corner of his room smelled.) Bed was good. I slept well. Shower pressure and temp was good. Once the lightbulb in the vanity area warmed up, it was bright enough for me to see what I was doing. The bad: 1) I asked for daily room refresh; of four nights, I got a refresh only 2 times and a) they took the bath mat and never replaced it; b) never refilled the coffee packets; c) did not take the dirty dishes nor the tip and 2) conditioner bottle was empty (or, if it wasn't, I couldn't get any conditioner out). I complained Mon morn (arrived Sun night) to the front desk about the conditioner. Tues: no change--no conditioner. Weds I wrote out a list: conditioner; coffee; tip; and gave it to the front desk clerk (same woman as Monday), with my room number on it. Weds night: no change--got a refresh, but no coffee, no conditioner, tip and dirty dishes still there. Weds morning 630AM I chose to eat at the "starbucks" in the lobby. 1) the menu board was so dark I could not read it. One employee turned on the second set of lights and the woman working the counter turned them off, saying she got too hot under the lights. OK. I ordered steel cut oats and avocado toast. (laughing) I am pretty sure this is not sanctioned by Starbucks. a)The oatmeal was properly cooked but salty. b) the avocado toast! OMG. I took a bite, and gave it back (note: I did not ask for a refund nor was one offered). It was salsa. She said it was an "avocado spread" with lemon juice. I replied, "no, it's a salsa. There's no spread here." It was ridiculous. Runny, clear in parts; it was a salsa, or a dip. Absolutely not a spread and maybe it was avocado green, but that was the only 'avocado' thing about it. I ate half of the oatmeal and a bite of the toast. Please to note: I was very hungry too, that's how bad it was. I checked out Thurs morning: still no conditioner, no bathmat, no coffee. **Is this hotel closing? there seems to be a distinct lack of care here. The little sundries store has no dental floss or personal items-lots of empty hooks. The walls of the hallways are banged up, scuffed; wall paper peeling off. Just sad. But my bed was free of bugs and I had a good shower. But if I have a choice, I won't come back.

I don't understand the other reviews. The hallways had a nice scent to them that was obviously put in. Our king suite room was nice but not as nice as other Courtyards. Yes, the hotel does need an update, but you can see where they have done work. No there isn't a free breakfast offered in the morning. There is a bistro you can order from. The staff was great and there is a AAA Yankees team right behind the hotel. (We were there for a game with my company's suite tickets...I'm an orioles fan). Hotel is located near tons of attractions and is a comfortable place.

One night here because it's close to the airport and it's a Marriott. This Courtyard is the "older" style which is fine. It's still everything I have come to get used to from the Courtyard chain. Quiet and clean and with the Bistro in the lobby. No free breakfast, because that's how the Courtyard properties roll. My room on the third floor was roomy and comfortable. The bed a little soft for my taste, but it was good for one night. I had no issues. I would stay here again.

As we drive up weeds were everywhere. Rooms were dirty, front desk staff were rude. Housekeeping was taking garbage out the front where guests check in. Empty bottle caps and food in the couch cushions, hall smelled like sewer. Ants in our kid's room. Very disappointing to a loyal Marriott customer.

Badly in need of a remodeling. The furniture is worn and the decor is dated. The staff, however, is very nice.

Desk agent asked if I was parking a car in the garage next door and I said yes. After that.....poof, no charge. If you need to be in Scranton proper for any reason this place is perfectly located. Very close to the University of Scranton, Steamtown, any of the actual in town sites from The Office and right off of 81. No real issue with the room. The carpet was stained in multiple spots but aside from that, everything worked as advertised. While there are several bars/restaurants close by, I opted to stay in since I was beat from a long kayak trip and had another one the next day. The restaurant, PJ's 1910 Pub, ain't sexy, but it gets the job done. Note that the menu on the website, while close, is not accurate to what they actually serve and that's aside from the specials they offer which you can read about while waiting for the elevator in the lobby. www.pjs1910pub.com/our-menu/ www.google.com/maps/@41.4069365,-75.6628473,3a,75y,102.53h,106.1t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sCIHM0ogKEICAgIC65bKtlAE!2e10!6shttps:%2F%2Flh3.googleusercontent.com%2Fgpms-cs-s%2FAB8u6HagnZJGyLen0DpKLPxZwFB46LEzYuh1-XTMR3WqR6bwVUW2ZpuOZVSwZds6DO36nf4V0fB4b-SC6N44VU80mhmCvIgPHRXhUVFMv7SEehJN9DJNvB_KKIjAaihiAEu_089swzqVAw%3Dw900-h600-k-no-pi-16.096135953756686-ya220.9319001501209-ro0-fo100!7i13872!8i6936?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MTAwOC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D The burger was good enough, the fries were well seasoned and the adult libations were heavily overpriced but considering the source, none of the above was shocking. Good enough hang with the small group at the bar which consisted of a few guests and what seemed like a few locals that stop by frequently since the staff knew exactly what they were drinking as soon as they got there. At the end of the day, this place isn't new and it isn't modern but to me it more than gets the job done and commensurate to the price, I can't complain. Good Enough.

Amenities include a small arcade room that held a claw machine and a video game. The indoor pool is small but there are towels and seating. The gym, also small, has new equipment. An outdoor patio includes a fire pit and seating. All the public areas are clean and in good condition. I didn't look for a laundry, so check their website for that information. I booked through their app and a King Suite was eight dollars more than a King room. After traveling for several days I thought the extra space would be welcome . Definitely worth a few dollars more. The long entry into the room has enough space to set up the portable luggage rack. A wet bar in this space includes a fridge and microwave. The closet has a few hangers plus an extra blanket, iron and board. The bathroom is spacious. Plenty if counter space. Clean. Multi-use body wash, shampoo, conditioner and skin cream. Enough soft and absorbant towels for our one night stay. Ice bucket was located here as well. Next to the entryway is a couch, coffee table, small kitchen table, two chairs and a coffee maker. The King bed is further in the room, across from a luggage rack/bench, dresser and TV. A comfy seat, ottoman and desk area are by the window. Bed was comfortable. Heat control on the wall. Everything in the room was in good condition and clean. We could have checked in via the app, but chose to do so onsite. Receptionist was pleasant and the process quick. She told us what time breakfast was served as she handed us the key. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. The hotel market includes soft drinks and beers as well as snacks and microwaveable items. Breakfast hot items were sausage, biscuits and gravy. Oatmeal was instant packets instead of the crockpot cooked version. Cold cereals and break items as expected. Milk was available in one of two fridges. Coffee station is across from the food area with nice big take away cups, tea and cocoa. A pancake maker is near the coffee. A fireplace was burning during breakfast service. Several work station type seating is available in the middle of the room and smaller tables along the window wall. A staff member kept everything in order. Plenty of parking. Close enoigh to the highway and within quick driving distance of shopping, fuel and restaurants.

As soon as I opened the door it smelled like mold and mothballs Which is not a big deal, I kinda expected from an old hotel/repurposed train station. However what I didn't expect were the carpet floors being slight wet/moist and finding toe nail clippings. That made the whole situation feel worse. On top of that when we first arrived on Saturday night There was an open water bottle sitting at the corner of the black bench on the fifth floor where we stayed.. when we left on Monday late morning 11am, the water bottle was still there. I had to take a picture of that before leaving because it just proved to me how the cleaning crew and staff management manage their cleanliness in the building. When I first arrived with 40 min of getting situated, I had security knocking on my door checking to see if we had kids and if they were alone. Apparently there was a noise complaint saying they only heard kids and no parents and were concerned. That felt very odd to me. I informed the front desk how I felt and if I could just leave that same day and not stay over night, the lady said she will still charge for the room regardless of my experience. I DID NOT want a refund for 1 day , I just simply wanted to cancel my over night stay and not get charged for the 2nd day. The front reception lady was rude and didn't seem to care. I kindly ask to speak a manager or any supervisory on duty to see if there's a way I could just simply leave and not pay to stay the night if I left the same day in the early afternoon so they can resell the room and make their profit. The front desk lady rudely said no they don't have any manager and said I can leave a voicemail. I am disappointed because I traveled from out of state to stay in this hotel because of all the fun cool haunted stories. I didn't care that the room smelled like moth balls or mold. I just didn't enjoy walking on wett moist carpet and old toe nail clippings. The first room and the lack of empathy from the staff member. This could have been easily resolved with any supervisor or manager. But the lack of care resulted in me putting my real genuine experience.

However, regardless of where I stay, I demand a clean room. This is not what we had. The hotel has a strict non-smoking policy as we were told upon checking in. This is great because we do not smoke. The minute we stepped into our room, the odor of smoke was overwhelming. We called the front desk to have our room changed, and then learned from the staff that the hotel was sold out and they could not help us. There was also no effort made to correct the situation immediately. All that was offered was for housekeeping to come the following day and try to "refresh" the room. This did not occur the following morning. When we woke up, we could almost smell the smoke odor on our own breaths... disgusting! I shared text messages with the hotel staff. Once again, I let them know of the situation. They offered me a "breakfast voucher." Such terrible customer service, and no desire to fix the situation promptly. Because we had a two night stay, I went out to the store and purchased multiple car air fresheners. We went back to the hotel and hung them all over the room to try and mitigate the smell ourselves. It worked to some extent, but the underlying smell was still there. I just received my invoice from the hotel, and we were charged full price for both nights, as well as both breakfast charges were applied as well. To add to our experience, we visited the bar Trax twice during our stay. The bar service is extremely slow and not efficient. We waited 10 minutes to get a drink, 15 minutes after that to get a second drink at which time we just called it a night. The breakfast service was just as slow, and the product coming out of the kitchen was mediocre and did not appear fresh. The avocado toast was topped with guacamole seemingly from a jar. And on day two, they ran out of home fries and substituted with tater tots. Once again, it shows the management of this hotel is not up to par. I encourage others to choose the Hilton next-door instead. This Radisson location is a great place to take some photos in the lobby (which is beautiful), but it's clear the staff is unable to manage the hotel appropriately and lacks basic customer service skills

Minus Zero Stars. Home2 Suites by Hilton, Scranton, PA…read more914 Scranton Carbondale Highway As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I have stayed in a lot of Hilton properties during 20 years. I used to take pride in choosing Hilton brands. Over the years, the standards have dropped fast. This location is a perfect example. Let's start with breakfast. The coffee is awful. Not "kind of weak." Not "could be better." Just bad. If I did not travel with my own coffee, I would be stuck with something I would not even serve at home. Now the bigger issue. Service and cleanliness are not what you expect when you pay a good price for a room. A clean room should stay clean. Rooms should be serviced the way they were for decades. Daily basics. Trash. Towels. Bathroom. Floors. Instead, guests get excuses. They blame short staffing. I blame supervision. If a hotel cannot meet basic standards, that is not a staffing problem. That is leadership letting problems slide. And when I hear staff blame other staff, it tells me the accountability is even worse. Even the basics have been cut down. The toilet paper is so thin you can read your iPad or a newspaper through it. pending upon what you use, it a joke. And the room does not smell clean. It smells like whatever perfume, cologne, cigarettes, they smoke, or strong cleaner the person used. That is not "fresh." That is covering up. The final straw is the visible neglect. If I can stand in the bathroom and see mold and cobwebs along the floorboards, that tells me the hotel is not being maintained and not being checked. This is not about "elite status." This is about being a paying customer and expecting the bare minimum: clean, maintained, and professionally managed. And yes, they still charge you full price on the way out. I will not be back.
