    Their "avocado" toast.
    Wendy M.

Stayed 4 nights in Aug 2025. The good: room was clean, did not smell. (I was on 3rd floor; coworker on 2nd floor said the corner of his room smelled.) Bed was good. I slept well. Shower pressure and temp was good. Once the lightbulb in the vanity area warmed up, it was bright enough for me to see what I was doing. The bad: 1) I asked for daily room refresh; of four nights, I got a refresh only 2 times and a) they took the bath mat and never replaced it; b) never refilled the coffee packets; c) did not take the dirty dishes nor the tip and 2) conditioner bottle was empty (or, if it wasn't, I couldn't get any conditioner out). I complained Mon morn (arrived Sun night) to the front desk about the conditioner. Tues: no change--no conditioner. Weds I wrote out a list: conditioner; coffee; tip; and gave it to the front desk clerk (same woman as Monday), with my room number on it. Weds night: no change--got a refresh, but no coffee, no conditioner, tip and dirty dishes still there. Weds morning 630AM I chose to eat at the "starbucks" in the lobby. 1) the menu board was so dark I could not read it. One employee turned on the second set of lights and the woman working the counter turned them off, saying she got too hot under the lights. OK. I ordered steel cut oats and avocado toast. (laughing) I am pretty sure this is not sanctioned by Starbucks. a)The oatmeal was properly cooked but salty. b) the avocado toast! OMG. I took a bite, and gave it back (note: I did not ask for a refund nor was one offered). It was salsa. She said it was an "avocado spread" with lemon juice. I replied, "no, it's a salsa. There's no spread here." It was ridiculous. Runny, clear in parts; it was a salsa, or a dip. Absolutely not a spread and maybe it was avocado green, but that was the only 'avocado' thing about it. I ate half of the oatmeal and a bite of the toast. Please to note: I was very hungry too, that's how bad it was. I checked out Thurs morning: still no conditioner, no bathmat, no coffee. **Is this hotel closing? there seems to be a distinct lack of care here. The little sundries store has no dental floss or personal items-lots of empty hooks. The walls of the hallways are banged up, scuffed; wall paper peeling off. Just sad. But my bed was free of bugs and I had a good shower. But if I have a choice, I won't come back.

I don't understand the other reviews. The hallways had a nice scent to them that was obviously put in. Our king suite room was nice but not as nice as other Courtyards. Yes, the hotel does need an update, but you can see where they have done work. No there isn't a free breakfast offered in the morning. There is a bistro you can order from. The staff was great and there is a AAA Yankees team right behind the hotel. (We were there for a game with my company's suite tickets...I'm an orioles fan). Hotel is located near tons of attractions and is a comfortable place.

One night here because it's close to the airport and it's a Marriott. This Courtyard is the "older" style which is fine. It's still everything I have come to get used to from the Courtyard chain. Quiet and clean and with the Bistro in the lobby. No free breakfast, because that's how the Courtyard properties roll. My room on the third floor was roomy and comfortable. The bed a little soft for my taste, but it was good for one night. I had no issues. I would stay here again.

As we drive up weeds were everywhere. Rooms were dirty, front desk staff were rude. Housekeeping was taking garbage out the front where guests check in. Empty bottle caps and food in the couch cushions, hall smelled like sewer. Ants in our kid's room. Very disappointing to a loyal Marriott customer.

Badly in need of a remodeling. The furniture is worn and the decor is dated. The staff, however, is very nice.

Located steps from the University of Scranton on the main drag of Mulberry Street, The Colonnade's meeting/reception rooms are beautiful as is the suite I stayed in for two nights. The original structure was built in the 1870's and it looks like much was done to preserve as much of the original woodwork, fireplaces and tile work as possible. High ceilings, curved walls, beautiful chandeliers...Joshua and Paul have returned the property to its former grandeur, yet have decorated the space with whimsy. In the Music Room, featuring an antique grand piano that came with the property, the blue walls are covered with lots of fun art work. My suite featured a separate sitting room, beautifully tiled bathroom and a separate bedroom with a king-sized bed with soft, luxurious bedding. Flat screen TV, free wifi and continental breakfast also come with the room. Several family members in town have attended functions from private baby showers to special holiday brunches at the Colonnade and report that the food and festivities were wonderful. There is parking in the back, and be forewarned - the property is off busy Mulberry Street - so for those not used to city noise should be prepared. It can be noisy in the early morning. So, while I have family I can stay with next time I'm in town, I will probably opt for staying at the Colonnade again.

Magical Weekend My weekend plans had me visiting the Houdini…read moreMuseum in Scranton Pennsylvania. Choosing the Scranton Hampton Inn seemed like a good choice as it was only minutes from the museum. I had a long drive to get to the hotel so I was looking forward to a relaxing evening. Check-in was a breeze, I used digital check-in the night before my trip. When I got to the front desk I was greeted with a smile and a cheery hello. My key card was already for me and I got the brief orientation from the desk attendant and I was off to my room. My chosen room, a single king bed with whirlpool tub, was waiting for me. Entering my room was what I have come to expect from Hampton Inn hospitality. My room was inviting and at a comfortable temperature. The bathroom was clean with a collection of fresh towels as well as a selection of hair and body products. The whirlpool tub located in the main room also had its own fresh towels. For some relaxing ambiance, there was a gas fireplace located in the main room as well. Also available was a flat screen television with access to local programing. A mini fridge, coffee maker and a microwave oven rounded out the rooms amenities. When I am away I like to keep in touch with my friends via Skype, this means I need a good connection to the internet. Hampton Inn Scranton offers complimentary internet via Wi-Fi as well as a premium upgrade. I chose to order the premium upgrade, which allowed me to connect three devices. I had no problems with the upgrade connection and enjoyed conversations with my friends as well as great streaming video. The view from my room was not the best. I had a room on the back side of the hotel, overlooking the parking lot as well as a brick oven pizza restaurant and pub. This was backdropped by tree covered mountain. Sleeping was easy. A comfortable bed and a quiet room, no outside sounds crept In overnight. The room darkening shades were also great. At night, they kept out the lights from the restaurant and parking lot and in the morning very little sun light got into the room allowing me to sleep in. Morning brings the complimentary breakfast buffet. My choices for the first morning were the cheese omelet with a bagel and cream cheese. Breakfast is self serve, there is a toaster for the bagels as well a selection of breads and English muffins. The omelets as well as other hot breakfast items are in buffet style serving dishes. Oatmeal and cold cereals are also available as well as fresh muffins and pastries. The Inn has a 24 hour hot beverage bar that has a selection of coffees and hot water for making teas or cocoas. As well as all the addons for your coffee that you may want. Off for my magical adventure for the day. I had a great time. I returned to the Inn late afternoon. Entering my room was pretty much the same as my arrival the night before. Housekeeping had been through the room and replaced any items that I had used as well as putting in fresh towels. The bed was made up and ready for another restful evening. Check out was as easy as checking in. A quick visit to the front desk to turn in my key cards, a printed receipt and a thank you for the wonderful stay and I was on the road for my long ride home, feeling refreshed and relaxed. Thank you, Hampton Inn Scranton at Montage Mountain, for a wonderfully relaxing weekend. If my travels bring me to the area again this is where I plan on staying.

I was very much looking forward to a nice hot breakfast to be utterly let down by them ONLY serving WESTERN OMELETTES?? WHO decided that I either have peppers and onions in my eggs or I don't get any eggs? That is a dietary FOUL! I detest peppers and onions let alone anywhere near my eggs! My husband has a very sensitive stomach and can't not just won't but can't eat anything like that first thing in the morning... the waffles left us wanting and The sausage patties were also barely heated/cooked as they had a thin cold layer running through the ones tI was served. I must say that absolutely ruined what otherwise was a very nice stay. I still can't believe there was no alternative style of eggs available and the western omelette was seriously offered as the only morning protein egg. How many did you have to throw out because I KNOW we weren't the only guests complaining about this? Your losses in breakfast alone on western omelette day must be staggering all because of one person's whim to ruin people's stay from just this selfish, brainless choice alone... since breakfast is included and a big part of our decision regarding where we stay I must have my rating reflect strongly in this respect and sorry to say it's not good when you severely limit my breakfast choices to a controversial choice that's not very well liked and only ordered by a specific crowd of diners.

Very close to the University of Scranton, Steamtown, any of the actual in town sites from The Office and right off of 81. No real issue with the room. The carpet was stained in multiple spots but aside from that, everything worked as advertised. While there are several bars/restaurants close by, I opted to stay in since I was beat from a long kayak trip and had another one the next day. The restaurant, PJ's 1910 Pub, ain't sexy, but it gets the job done. Good enough hang with the small group at the bar which consisted of a few guests and what seemed like a few locals that stop by frequently since the staff knew exactly what they were drinking as soon as they got there. At the end of the day, this place isn't new and it isn't modern but to me it more than gets the job done and commensurate to the price, I can't complain. Good Enough.

Oatmeal was instant packets instead of the crockpot cooked version. Cold cereals and break items as expected. Milk was available in one of two fridges. Several work station type seating is available in the middle of the room and smaller tables along the window wall. A staff member kept everything in order. Plenty of parking. I used to take pride in choosing Hilton brands. Over the years, the standards have dropped fast. This location is a perfect example. Let's start with breakfast. The coffee is awful. Not "kind of weak." Not "could be better." Just bad. If I did not travel with my own coffee, I would be stuck with something I would not even serve at home. Now the bigger issue. Service and cleanliness are not what you expect when you pay a good price for a room. A clean room should stay clean. Rooms should be serviced the way they were for decades. Daily basics. Trash. Towels. Bathroom. Floors. Instead, guests get excuses. They blame short staffing. I blame supervision. If a hotel cannot meet basic standards, that is not a staffing problem. That is leadership letting problems slide. And when I hear staff blame other staff, it tells me the accountability is even worse. Even the basics have been cut down. The toilet paper is so thin you can read your iPad or a newspaper through it. pending upon what you use, it a joke. And the room does not smell clean. It smells like whatever perfume, cologne, cigarettes, they smoke, or strong cleaner the person used. That is not "fresh." That is covering up. The final straw is the visible neglect. If I can stand in the bathroom and see mold and cobwebs along the floorboards, that tells me the hotel is not being maintained and not being checked. This is not about "elite status." This is about being a paying customer and expecting the bare minimum: clean, maintained, and professionally managed. And yes, they still charge you full price on the way out. I will not be back.
