    The $8.50 parfait
    Sam T.

My recent two-night stay here was good enough for me to return, but I'll get breakfast elsewhere. I checked in later in the evening and the person working the desk was very kind and friendly -- and gave me the heads up that the hotel WiFi was having some problems that they were working to get resolved. I definitely appreciated the transparency rather than just hoping I wouldn't need to connect that night. My room was quite spacious and cleaned well. There were a few scrapes and scuffs on the furniture but nothing too bad. As a tall person, I loved that the refrigerator was up in a cabinet rather than near the ground, although it didn't get very cold, and the interior didn't have a shelf that could hold a standard size to-go box. I was pleasantly surprised that my room got a full service from housekeeping despite me only having a two-night stay! That's so rare these days. The one negative for me was breakfast. Like most Courtyards, it has the "bistro". The grab-and-go options were super limited and still required waiting in a -- pretty long -- line along with folks ordering hot breakfasts and made-to-order drinks. The two folks staffing the bistro were friendly and hustling big time, but trying to simultaneously check people out, make drinks, prepare plates, and check on people dining at the counter was just too much for two folks to have to deal with. But the big shock for me was price: a can of coffee was over $4 (but it's Starbucks, so I guess overpriced is to be expected), and a fruit and granola yogurt parfait cup from the little grab-and-go refrigerator was $8.50. $8.50! The breakfasts on the menu were almost entirely over $10 each, some over $15. I understand that the hotel caters to business travelers, but I don't know many business travelers whose travel allotments would allow them to afford hot food and a drink here. So would I stay here again? Yes, as long as the rate was reasonable. But I would definitely plan ahead to eat elsewhere.

This is a nice, modernized hotel. They have a full loveseat instead of a chair for the room. The bed is nice, but the phone would buzz static randomly and the alarm clock would not go off. The people were terrific and friendly. The room was clean and updated.

Solid option for both business or leisure. It does come with a few minor flaws though. Pros: Fairly priced Good location Newer / Modern Hotel Water softener Shower Walking Trail located right across Hotel Cons: Lacking in the cleaning department. Not as good as other Marriotts I've stayed in. (Hotel is currently short staffed and will service your room upon request). Not crazy about the layout of the room. Prefer having the TV in front of the bed, and stand alone desk. (Not sure if this applies to all rooms). TV remote lags and can be unresponsive. (This is a common issue with these Enseo brand remotes). All in all. I enjoyed my stay. I loved going to the trail for walks. This is still a new Hotel, they did a nice job including all necessary updates, 24 hour Gym with new equipment. Close to restaurants, the Mall, and interstate. I would consider staying here again during future travels ls.

This hotel is located a few miles off the highway in Tampa which made it so nice and comfortable. Our stay here was great. It was clean and smelled so nice. You would enjoy this hotel if you like quietness. It is a good hotel in a very family friendly area. The area was quiet and safe. It's one of the few hotels in the Tampa area with FREE PARKING! The hotel is pretty new and has lots of seating areas in the lobby. We stayed for 4 nights and had everything we needed. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The room was the perfect size for one or two people. The bed was comfortable. The walk in shower was nice. AC worked great. I like a cold room. The room had plenty of charging stations, ac and usb ports. The offer EV charging, TESLA and standard. Great value!

Seems to be a newer hotel, very clean and well kept. Had no issues with the internet, it's close to a highway and restaurants. Staff is a touch close, checking you in, answering the phone, answering questions. They have one of their bistros located inside, serves breakfast/lunch/dinner items and alcohol. I would stay here again, rooms were clean, up to date and comfortable.

The hotel is newer as of Feb 2020 and so most things are new and in good order. The room is comfortable for the price and has ample charging outlets for the many electronics we all travel with. The gym is clean and the equipment is good working order. I was not able to try the pool as it was too cold this time of year. There isn't much hustle and bustle, so if you're looking for a quiet and isolated lodging situation, this may fit the bill. The most puzzling and somewhat annoying aspect of the hotel is the restaurant situation. I was here for 3 days for business and was in and out at different times of the day and night, however the restaurant was always inexplicably closed whenever one would want to eat. The hotel is supposed to cater to the business traveler, but the restaurant opens far too late for anyone working. It's closed for lunch and doesn't open until much later for dinner. So if you're returning from a day at work, where you've already missed breakfast because the shop was closed, now you can't have a snack because the shop is closed again. By the very short dinner time hours, most people have just given up and go to the McDonald's down the street, and so the hotel seems like a depressing ghost town. The prices of the food are amenable, but irrelevant since it's never open for you to dine there. Would probably stay somewhere a bit nicer next time. And definitely somewhere there is a meal to be had from time to time. Overall a disappointing stay tempered only by the amount of power outlets in the room.

    Modern, but warm and cozy.

My double room had all the required elements and restocked coffee every morning. The iron and hairdryer worked perfectly as well. This stay was a bit different because while I was here the hotel had a fire on my floor. The facility did an excellent job moving a large amount of people (3 floors of us) down stairs to the lower level in the early morning hours. While the fire department was on site the hotel kept us all informed and safe. It worked exactly the way it should for the hotel and the guests. I was very impressed. We returned to our rooms once the floors were completely checked and I did not once feel my safety was at risk before or after the event. Checkout was smooth as well.

The guy at the front desk was accommodating and said he only had bay view rooms available for early check in. Although this was an additional fee of $30/night, we decided to pay for it because we were tired from traveling. We got a room on the 7th floor, with bay and pool views. The room was spacious, clean, and provided everything we needed for the stay. They also have an onsite restaurant and a store on the 1st floor. We walked by the pool area, but did not get in because it was a bit chilly. We also walked to the other end of the hotel where the casitas are, it looked like a pretty cool area to revisit in the future. We booked the hotel through Hotels.com. The total provided at booking was around $650...after checking out our total then went to almost $1000. I understand the upgrade for the bay view of $30/night, however there are hidden fees that were not previously disclosed. In addition, someone charged a breakfast buffet to our room. I did make a complaint and was refunded, however they need to reconsider their methods for guests charging restaurant food to rooms. Overall the stay was good. I just think they should do a better job with disclosing hidden fees and restaurants procedures.

Unfortunately, the noise level significantly impacted our stay. We were in Room 28, and directly behind the room is a hallway used by staff from the upstairs bar. Throughout the first night, we heard a heavy door repeatedly slamming and staff using rolling carts to transport trash. The noise continued until about 3:00 a.m., making it very difficult to sleep. The next morning, I expressed my concerns to the front desk. He was polite, apologized, and said he would pass the information along. However, the noise resumed again the following night. Around 11:30 p.m., I stepped into the hallway and observed someone pulling trash on one of the carts; they did not appear interested in engaging when I tried to address it. Closer to midnight, after another loud door slam, I spoke with a different staff member who was very receptive and respectful. After that conversation, the noise level did decrease. I understand that hotel operations continue behind the scenes, but for a property positioned as an upscale boutique experience, I would expect better late-night noise control -- especially in rooms directly adjacent to service areas. The hotel has a lot of potential, and the cleanliness was excellent. However, due to the repeated overnight noise disruption, I would be hesitant to stay in that location of the property again.

Some of the areas in downtown can be sketch so you will need to Uber if you don't plan on driving and parking. Parking, speaking of which, will be expensive whether you are valeting at $45 a night or park in one of the garages nearby. Some I think are $15-20 a day but depends on the garage. The valet at least are fast with getting your car. Overall, the staff was friendly and courteous. Our check in went quickly to grab our keys and direct us to our room that was on the first floor. Housekeeping was friendly and prompt as well. The room was easily accessible from the lobby and close to the pool area. Our bed was comfortable with a fridge, plenty of drawer and shelf space in the closet. Our room had some modern artwork as well. The bathroom was spacious and the water pressure was solid. Although it took a minute to figure out how to adjust the water temperature without scalding yourself. They have a fitness center but it's up on the top floor and can be a challenge to find at first if you don't know where you're going. The signage helps a bit. It's in this spooky hallway where the court reporters were located and juries deliberated. You wonder if there were any unexplained or brutal murders that took place but I didn't feel any haunted presences nor are any brought up as an attraction. So probably not. But the gym's amenities are solid between the cardio machines and the weights available. Towels are available and a water cooler. They have a restaurant and bar that serves all three meals as well as ice cream and coffee. I only stopped there for an extra dirty, which was ok but could have been dirtier. I would stay here again.
