We stayed April 4 through April 10, 2024. All three people that worked at the front desk/check-in during our stay were very easy to deal with, friendly and helpful. A big thanks to Sue for her assistance in getting an additional room for one night. The bistro prepares some wonderful breakfasts, which we took advantage of on three separate occasions, thank you Drew. Jerod, thank you for your hospitality. And in the evening (opens at 5pm), give the meatballs or the 3 cheese toasted cheese sandwich a try. The bistro also offers a good selection of cocktails starting at 5pm. Matthew, thank you for the martinis and the old fashions! This location could easily be a 5/5 if the follow were addressed. The rooms do not have a dresser or chest of drawer (for clothing). A dish for the soap in the bathroom would avoid a mess on the countertop. And more importantly, when one is done, showering, the showerhead drips, as they all do, but the drips land on a steel plate and it echoes throughout the room like a grandfather clock or wind chime. The fix was putting a washcloth on top of it. It was very convenient to be able to use the pool at the Marriott across the parking lot as the pool heater was down for maintenance. Well I stayed here before and it was always fine but this time around it was very disappointing. When I checked in the room was not quite clean. There were random stains on the nightstand and desk and hair all over the shower. The fridge also had food from the previous guest. I request that the room be cleaned but they never did during my 5 night stay. Cleaning is by request only now a days and apparently even when you ask, they don't bother. The bistro and bar in the lobby were closed and the grab and go breakfast left a lot to be desired. Next trip out I just might have to find an alternative. Not sure I would bother staying here again. read more

I travel for work and this Courtyard is one of my favorite hotels. I am always glad when my company sends me to the Dayton area and I have the opportunity to stay here. I have stayed in many different rooms here and all are large, spotlessly clean and with good lighting in all the important areas. The heavy drapes actually block all the light which seems to be a rarity in most hotel rooms. It is refreshing not to have to rearrange the drapes to block out every sliver of light, like I often find myself doing in other hotels. Pool and hot tub are always clean, the lobby area is very nice and a few of the booths have electrical outlets. Breakfast is quick and good, especially the oatmeal. Fitness room is small but equipment is always clean and in good working order. Customer service is awesome, with Rhonda going far above and beyond to provide the best experience for each guest. read more

I was very disappointed with our stay at the Courtyard this time. We visit often and have always had really good experiences but this time too many things were shoddy for me not to comment. First, the hot tub was out of commission and the front desk attendant indicated it might be permanently closed. The hot tub and pool are something we look forward to when traveling to unwind and to entertain the grandkids. So that was really disappointing. Then the pool was seriously cold. They turned on the heat but it took forever to warm up. Then the common bathrooms were unserviced and the toilet would not flush. Then again, not the first time, the Bistro didn't have the one thing I wanted on the menu. The people are pleasant but I depend on our "home away from home" to be what is advertised. We are paying for the whole thing. When it falls short, it is really disappointing. We will be looking for a new home away from home for our next visit. I'm done settling for continued reduced maintenance. Front desk service was welcoming and responsive. Bistro attendant was friendly and accommodating. read more

Didn't realize motel 6 took over the courtyard. My room is a throat choking eye watering mildew infested hellhole. The creepy dude knocking on my door twice at 11 pm wasn't listed in the accommodations. But the nasty customer service by bar/restaurant staff makes up for the shortcomings ;-) . Last minute stay booked and overall pleased with this Marriott location. Excellent customer service!! All the staff were very friendly and helpful during my stay.The only thing I would say was the pool area needs some updates.The peeling paint falling off the ceiling area in the pool is a bit unsightly and and could potentially be hazardous. But overall the rooms were clean, everything in working condition. Cafe a bit over priced but lots of food options nearby. Would definitely stay again. read more

I am mostly very impressed with this hotel! It is extremely clean and modern. You're greeted by an aesthetically pleasing customer service desk and lobby. There's a small bar that offers light bar food and alcohol. The lady at the desk was welcoming and pleasant. We were there at the same time as a big high school sports tournament and she purposely put our room far away from theirs. We really appreciated that! The room decor and design was also very pleasing and modern! The artwork was nice and the set up was different than your typical room. This may be one of my favorite rooms I've ever stayed in. Our King Suite had a small balcony, over looking the mall (haha). Downfalls: no free coffee in the lobby. You have to purchase everything here. The shower also needs to be upgraded. As fancy as everything is, the shower heads are still old. Kinda hard to rinse out their nice Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil with a weak showerhead. This hotel sponsors ESPN in all rooms, its kind of their "thing." However, I remember seeing nothing about it on the website. We are college football fans and there was no Big 10 Network in sight. The other locations (e.g., Beckley, WV for instance), barely compare to a Super 8 Motel! Members of our 42d MP Group (Customs) Reunion Association stayed here from Thursday, October 24th 2019, to Sunday, October 27th 2019 with one member staying at the next door Residence Inn. The rooms were great, plenty of parking and a nice restaurant. Checking us in was Shinoa at the front desk; particularly pleasing and helpful. Ladies handling the lounge and restaurant whose name I got were T.J. and Keshia; also very pleasant. A young man took over from Shinoa (pardon me but I can't remember his name) who is going in to the US Air Force (good luck, son!). My wife and I WILL return when going back to the Dayton/Beavercreek area! The only slight problem area seems to be the Wi-Fi connection seems to be a problem-one of our members found it necessary to go to the Residence Inn next door to connect. read more

We had some problems here....we were in the middle of a major cross country move. Moving here from Vegas as our first Air Force Base. We were staying here for ten days while looking for housing. Thank goodness, my family is only an hour away in Cincinnati. We planned on using this room as we needed it because of housing, on-base work, the baby. But we also went back to Cincinnati quite frequently because of having more space for the baby. Well, that REALLY threw house-keeping off. I guess they thought we were gone for good because they did things like clear out our fridge of baby food and take away the pack and play. This led to major problems. Imagine, if you will, having a busy and early morning of work and house hunting. You're one year old's nap time rolls around and he's very fussy, making life during a move even more stressful. All you want in the whole world is to get him a bite to eat and/or down for a nap. So you return to your trusty hotel! Only to find that his food and his bed are gone. So now you have to call the front desk to request a pack and play, which of course takes twenty minutes. That's twenty minutes of your baby getting increasingly worked up. So when the bed finally comes, he's so nuts that it takes him a solid 45 minutes to calm down before falling asleep. I will say that when we reported all of this to management (eyes full of tears because #StressedFirstTimeMom) they were more than sorry and helpful. They even offered us an extra night of the room on them! Which was much appreciated!! But obviously there are problems when it comes to communication with the house cleaning staff. I hope they figure out a better way to take care of special needs. read more

The room itself was aesthetically appealing and spacious. We had two double beds, a chair, and a desk. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. My grandmother stayed with me and slept very well. The air quality seemed very humid in the room, and I wondered if that was because we were located on the first floor, because my friend's room on the second floor didn't have that issue. An iron and ironing board were provided, as well as several toiletries. Makeup remover wipes were a brilliant idea, because it saves their white hotel towels from black smudges from makeup! Also a perk for people who wear makeup was a small magnifying mirror in the bathroom area. Something I found strange was that there was absolutely no facial tissue ("kleenex"). The toilet paper was very soft though when I was in a pinch haha. The basic room does not come with a fridge or microwave, which I like to know ahead of time. The location is very centralized, near the mall and several restaurants. Finally, the front desk staff seemed a little unorganized, although they were training new staff members at the time. read more

Very close to WPAFB, but I stay here where ever I am visiting in the Dayton area. Located in a mall parking lot; shopping, food, and cigars are conveniently located nearby. I've continued to stay at this hotel since my first review. It's still very good, very consistent. The Starbucks in the lobby is a great plus. The oatmeal here is better that the oatmeal at a "real" Starbucks. read more

Good hotel, right next to Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the Air Force Research Laboratory. Right next to mall and various shopping centers. Clean room with mini frig and comfortable furnishing, this should be good for most traveller's needs. read more

Stayed here last night with my wife and 2 kids. Room 300. We were in town visiting relatives and upon returning to our hotel and getting settled in, we discover that someone must have wet the bed the night before. In an attempt to hide this act, the bed was turned around top/bottom and a towel was placed over the wet area and under the sheet. We were then moved to another room and upgrade suite with one king. Keep in mind I'm traveling with my wife and 2 children. We had just explained this prior. I appreciate the thought but how are 4 people supposed to sleep in a king bed and one tiny pull out cot. So we finally get another room it's after 10:30 at this point and we were given 5000 Marriot Points for our trouble. No offer of the room is on us. I get mistakes happen but I feel it was pretty below standard of an offer. You can put me out but not my wife and kids. read more

My coworker and I stayed here last night and we want to give a special shout out to Rob (i think) and Lindsey for going above and beyond with their service to us last night. We finally arrived after a long travel day to find that our reservations were not in the system. Rob helped us call around to nearby hotels to check for our reservations, and finally we realized that I booked our reservations at the wrong Courtyard hotel. He happily called that hotel to cancel our reservation and booked us at the correct hotel. He even helped us look for a lower rate. They were both very professional, friendly, and quick. A woman after my own heart, Lindsey even gave us Macy's Friends and Family sale coupons after hearing that we planned to stop by the mall. Bonus points! As I've emphasized, the service was a definite standout. Other than that, the rooms/amenities/food were pretty standard. Everything was clean and neat, but nothing to write home about. It would be nice to have more outlets by the beds, but that's just a small nitpicky thing. Would definitely recommend this hotel if anyone happens to find themselves in Dayton. Before I say anything, I will note that I am en employee of nearby Marriott courtyard. Now to my review. As an employee, I am not one who needs much. I clean up after my trash, usually decline housekeeping. I stayed at this location to hopefully just relax and unwind for two days, and that's exactly what I got. The staff are very welcoming and professional. I visited their pool room multiple times during my stay to relax in the whirlpool, which was properly cleaned and maintained, every time. This hotel is definitely not 4 stars as fellow Yelpers would claim. If you are a frequent hotel guest, you will agree. The challenge is that in this area, hotels that a would meet the frequent traveler expectation are non-existent. It's cheap to stay here and you get what you pay for. Clean rooms, nice personnel at the guest relations desk and a ton of sports channels. I don't think this hotel skims on any of the ESPN's. Rooms are smaller than other Courtyard hotels that I have visited however every room has a balcony. You're either looking over the courtyard of the hotel or looking at the parking lot but you have a balcony! As a non-smoker I can appreciate this as I presume it cuts down on folks smoking in the rooms. My biggest complaint is that it's hard to get the rooms cool. The rooms have those units that are over by the windows on the floor but controlled from the wall. There's a sensor that detects when there's been movement recently but I wish there was a way to override this to prevent it from shutting off. I had the room set to 65F, the coolest setting possible and I woke up sweating several times throughout the night. Despite my movement, I'm not confident it ever truly kicked back on. The fan turned on but I think it was just a fan. I definitely got what I paid for, which is a poor night's sleep and a place to shower. read more

Pros: The hotel is great (comfortable) for one or two nights. Nice indoor pool/jacuzzi. Friendly staff. Cons: WiFi sucks. AT&T reception is spotty. TV is a smart TV but despite being hardwired, frequently can't connect to Netflix or other streaming service. I wrote a note to corporate. But, after two weeks - no reply. Today, I find out the bistro has lost their liquor license so I can't even get a beer. read more

Decent hotel. The restaurant/bar left a lot to be desired. None of those tending the bar knew how to make simple mixed drinks. If I'm paying Marriott prices for a drink, it better at least be close to what I'm asking for. The second night, my niece and wife ordered meals. Simple, too...grilled cheese and tomato soup. 40 minutes after they gave their order the girl who took it was in the seating area hanging out with her friends. My wife asked about the food. "Oh...yeah...I'll go check on it" was the answer. Then she went back and threw it together. Keep in mind...there were no other customers. This was generally how it worked. The people behind the counter had friends over several times, and that got in the way of their actually doing the job they are being paid to do. As a long time Marriott member, I've stayed in places literally around the world. I've never seen service like that. The cleaning staff were very respectful and those who worked at the main desk were nice. That's about all I can say that is positive. Pretty disappointing overall. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the surrounding area has everything you could possibly need. Marriott does a nice job of being consistent, so as expected this Courtyard was clean, modern, and stylish. The bedding, toiletries, etc are all the norm for the Courtyard. This particular location is located very close to a mall, tons of rataurants, and is directly next door to a large hospital. It is a few miles from Wright State University and Wright Patterson Air Force Base. This is definitely a great place to stay if you want to be central to everything in Dayton/Beavercreek/Yellow Springs/etc. However, just be aware that this seems to be a very busy hotel. The night that I was there the hotel was packed. I ended up at the end of a hallway where most of the rooms had been rented to a girl's (i.e. kid's) dance troupe. I was awakened by kids running in the hall, yelling, slamming doors. When I checked out I mentioned the noise to the front desk manager and she immediately knew it was because of the dance troupe. She comped my friend and myself coffees from their in house Starbucks. I appreciated the gesture but I was still tired all day. The next time I'm in the area I'll probably try a different hotel that is a little further away from the Nutter Center. read more

We just stayed at this hotel for a hockey tournament. The hotel was immaculate, freshly painted and spotless. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make us all comfortable. We asked for an early check in and the cleaning staff worked hard so we got it. This is your standard Courtyard Marriott hotel so you can rely on that, though this one does seem to be upgraded and recently remodeled. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, stylish common areas, etc. but the reason I wanted to write a review is that this hotel has finally incorporated what I wish all of them would and that is true black out drapes!! You are able to pull the window drape all the way past the window by a foot or more and the result is very, very little sunlight gets in the room. If you are like me and like to get a nice block of sleep every now and then that is not interrupted by the sun coming up, you will find your oasis here. If you need a hotel in the Beavercreek area, I recommend this one. read more

I recently stayed at this Courtyard for a business trip. The room is nice, not extraordinary. However, the service I received was exemplary. I had a minor issue, that my room's ethernet port did not connect. The staff took me to another room to try the ethernet port before switching me to that room. They also gave me a free breakfast for my troubles. When I have the do not disturb sign up, fresh towels and toiletries were left at my door. Whenever I enter or leave, the staff gave warm greetings. The room has a refrigerator and a pod coffeemaker (not Keurig), but no microwave. If you have a long stay, their sister hotel Residence Inn is next door. read more
