This place is the definition of a dive bar. Sticky tables, smoky atmosphere, and service that felt almost nonexistent both visits. The first time we waited around 15 minutes at a table before anyone acknowledged us, and the second time was basically the same experience sitting at the bar. Friendly service definitely wasn't the strong point here either. That said, the food honestly saved this review from being much lower. The wings had a fantastic sauce with great flavor, the fried pickles were crispy and addictive, and the fried green tomatoes were genuinely delicious with a really solid batter. Even the beers were ice cold and crisp, which fit the vibe perfectly. The biggest issue is that the pricing feels a little high for the overall experience and environment. If you're charging those kinds of prices, the cleanliness and service really need to match it better. If you're coming strictly for fried bar food and cold beer, you'll probably enjoy it. The meat and three today was meatloaf which was very airy light and had BBQ sauce on it. I also had fried okra, and collards which were delicious. The service is also fantastic. The cook's name is Joseph and he knows how to season. My only complaint was that it's a bar at night so still smoke filled during the day. I noticed a LOT of outgoing orders. My husband couldn't smell the smoke until we got into the car together, but I have asthma, and I could. He had meatloaf with black-eyed peas and collards. No seasoning needed! We love to come here when working the spring and fall NASCAR races. My team loved this place in the spring however the fall service was just horrid comparatively. I've been in the service industry over a decade so I understand a lot but to walk in on a steady but not busy Saturday at 3pm, after just being there the night before when it was PACKED, to not to be even greeted or acknowledged for 20 minutes but looked over at multiple times was just atrocious. We have fun there and the drinks are great but the staff seemed they couldn't even be bothered by us was very disheartening. This is your pretty typical dive bar. We come here when we want a stiff drink and some wings, but wanna remain close to home. The drinks are decent and I love the lemon pepper wings! There are a ton of pool tables, a jukebox, and live music or a dj several nights a week. The bar is SMOKY, but they have seating outside. I have been coming here since January 2022 because it's the closest "Grill & Bar" to my new house. The manager Crystal is the nastiest human i have ever seen in my life. For 1 the bartenders will give you "shots on the house" whilst them taking 1 and add theirs to YOUR tab ran my tab up to $250 For 2 Crystal shows favorites and if you don't drink Alcohol (Which i don't i go for the food and Pool Tables) they don't even want to look your direction. I got told the other night since i ordered a coke "she couldn't help me" yes she laughed but it was rude. One of her employees propped the back door open before her shift she came in snatched it and accused my party and another guest of propping open the door rather than nicely asking not to do so. She has the WORST attitude i have ever seen granted i know it's a bar but no reason to be such a CUNT. They choose who they give free pool too and on which days. If you're on her pool team help yourself anytime any day of the week since i am on another APA team in the Bham area i ONLY get free pool on Sundays not to mention from 8-11 depending on how many people are there the pool tables are then cut from the public for tournament. i think free pool days should be on a different day they run tournaments. it would only make sense. read more

Wow, had no idea this place existed but glad I know now. Know up front.... this is a bar. Ash trays on every table..... this does not bother me at all. The wait was a little long but who cares. Got dragged here in a relative state of diminished capacity. Should have just gone to sleep. Typical courtyard. Didn't even know this one existed. Its basically like the one on 280, and like the old one downtown, a dive bar masquerading as a non dive bar. Gross crowd, slimy ambiance. I imagine that jagermeister and bud light are the biggest sellers, and that the chance of encountering anyone interesting or worth engaging is minimal. Not trying to be negative, just trying to be honest. If you want to go to a place where someone might throw up, try one of the courtyard bars in the area. If you don't, stay away. From the food, to the drinks, to the patrons, there's just nothing here that's really worth stopping in for. read more

Found this bar by accident four years ago... stopped by for lunch several time to have oysters... the service and food have always been excellent. The crowd is friendly. After an absence from Pelham of two years, we dropped by today after church with my son and his wife. Everyone loved their meals, and the service was again attentive and friendly... Great fried pickles. I've only been a few times but every time my drinks have been made well. The staff is ok. The first time it took ages for them to come out and check on us. Tried this place many different nights of the week, usually between 6:30 & 8 pm, as I usually swing by the area on the way home, after work located an hour away. They have a happy hour until 7, & offer free buffet of appetizers on Fridays. Never tried any of their free bar food, but I understand it's pretty popular if you get there early enough. Live music used to be pretty decent on Thursday nights. First off, I don't like to drink anywhere near this part of town, as the cops are well known for harassing everybody after 9pm. Also, this place is the smokiest pool hall I've ever been in. So let's just say, the longest I've ever stayed here was for 3 bottles of regular beer. Gross crowd, mostly over 50 or overweight, slimy ambiance. I think that Jagermeister & Miller light are the biggest sellers, and the chance of encountering anyone interesting or worth engaging is minimal. Staff & patrons are never any fun or interesting to talk with, except maybe Cristen or the occasional nurse from nearby medical centers. Not trying to be negative, just trying to be honest. Being a resident of Alabama, one should know how big Crimson Tide football is especially this season in the running for a third National Championship. A well run restaurant would know the schedule and the weeks when the game is not publicly televised. This was a pay-per-view week so guest are going to come out in mass to watch the game and spend their money at your venue. The least you can do is be prepared. You had 2 wait staff and 1 buser, who in her defense bust butt. However, whoever made your staff schedule this Saturday college football day is a prime example of not understanding weekend preparedness during a football season. You have 25+ tables seating 4 or more, a 20 person bar and not to mention standing room for the pool tables. You're waitresses were trying, but a good manager would have had a minimum of 6 wait staff from the time you're doors opened until the crowd dispersed. I saw at least 4 tables walk out. Yes, you called in 3 more people to help who arrived during the second quarter, but the damage had already been done. We sat next to a gentleman at the bar who ordered a to-go order before us. We had already eaten our food and a new patron sat next to us who had been there 15 minutes and got his food before the to-go order. The gentleman was too kind to say anything so my husband spoke up. The waitress's reply was the straw that broke the camel's back. "Sorry, tickets come out in order and we're busy. It just works that way." Not, "You've been waiting an hour and a half? What was your order? Let me check on it, expedite it and discount it for your wait." She charged him full price and offered him a free soda?? Poorly managed and bad attitudes under pressure are not how you run a successful business. Don't forget, your best selling point for new business is word of mouth. Good luck.... Not the best courtyard I have been too but it makes do. What really irritates me more than anything is my card gets screwed up everytime I go there. Instead of holding your card until the end and paying they swipe it for almost every transaction. I even tell them I will pay cash at the end of my bill that I just want a tab open. Nope they run the dang thing a hundred times. I smoke but this place get super smoky unless you sit by the door. Wings are good, no complaints there. The nicest staff you'll find anywhere. Great service and love the free buffet and $2 pints. The smoke hasn't been an issue for me. I guess I expect a bar to be somewhat smokey. My wife and I come here every week and enjoy the food, beer and good service. Lots of smiles from the staff! read more
