This is a great dive bar with daily specials on food and drinks. They have a good selection of beers and bar drinks. The food is always good in taste and portion. I don't care for the smoking but the ventilation is pretty good unless it really gets packed. They have plenty TVs for all the sports and they play good music at just the right volume. I've heard all the cool people have been thrown out by the owner at least several times but it's usually a very congenial atmosphere. If I could provide negative stars I would. The mid-aged blonde woman refused to serve me all because my state ID was from Nevada rather than local. She refused to scan my ID to prove validity and was extremely rude and had a disgusting attitude. She also said my boyfriend's ID was fake because he also had a Nevada ID. We live with each other and have a house, our addresses are the same, and our ID's are star IDs, i.e. a birth certificate and social security card was provided in order to obtain for FEDERAL PURPOSES, but she also stated my 39 y/o mother's ID was fake. I was there to sing karaoke for the first time in my life and was really nervous, so all I wanted was a beer to loosen my nerves. Worst and most humiliating experience of my life. She was very hateful and hostile. Horrible experience to have considering I was here to visit family with the little time I have since I live across the country. First time in many many years that allows smoking! Ugh even had a ashtray on the table! Gross! Its definitely a place for regulars! However the service was very good! Waitress was very friendly and attentive! Now for the food. you won't leave hungry! The seasoned fries were great! I can only speak for the Philly Cheese Steak which was quite tasty! Dive bar in the best way. Their Facebook advertised drink specials last until closing. Karaoke Thursdays Fridays and most Saturdays, unless there is an SEC game. The drink specials advertised on Facebook last until close. You can smoke in this bar which is fantastic. They always have different drinks specials and food specials every night. Great place with super attentive staff, clean & classy atmosphere, with plenty of goings on almost every night. Patrons are cool & some are very interesting & fun to engage with. Good variety of drink specials daily, all night, so no need to be there before 6 pm. While I like everything else about this place, I don't enjoy Karoke or Bingo, which seem to happen 3 or 4 weeknights a week. I will need to try and stop in more often on a Friday or Saturday for a bit. read more

Rio's is tucked away off to the side of the same building as El Patron in the old Brickworks spot. I've heard the wings were good and we needed quick take-out. Called in the order and left shortly thereafter. It was quite difficult to find a spot to park. A number of businesses share the limited parking spaces. The space is small. The interior is relatively unchanged since the Brickworks days, with a bar replacing the area where the steam table sat. I saw Guinness on draft but didn't have time to partake. I saw maybe 5 more draft options and what appeared to be a basic full bar. There was a pool table and a tiny stage for live music. The food was ready when I got there. The lady behind the bar that took my order and brought me my food was very nice. The order: 20 wings half hot half mild with bleu cheese and an order of fried pickles. The wings had great flavor. The bleu cheese and ranch seemed house made. The pickles were far thicker cut dill chips than I've ever had with a much thicker batter. It reminded me of fried zucchini but w pickles. Not bad, I prefer crispier thin with a lighter batter. They allow smoking inside. Small space virtually everyone inside was smoking. This is one of the very few remaining establishment I'm aware of that allow smoking inside. In my past life a close to me small smokey dive with good bar food and live music would totally be up my alley. Today it's not a total deal breaker for me if I were there later in the evening to see the band. Likely wouldn't go here for drinks and dinner w the wife. read more

This is my favorite local pub! The staff is so very friendly and the prices are very reasonable! My favorite item on their menu is the grilled chicken salad but they have so many favorites this was hard for me to decide! I am so proud of Crystal & Chuck the owners. My husband and I wanted to try a new place since we are new to the area. We found this place! Overall the place is nice. We sat at the bar so we could watch a fight they had on. It wasn't crowded but out service was super slow. Guess the girls behind the bar just wasn't having a good night? We ordered our food, I had the nachos and my hubby had a burger. Nothing special. I was a little nervous to order food at first here but that's where I was wrong. I went at lunch time and ordered a fajita burger and it was really great! Tater tots was also a choice as a side, which I LOVE. My boyfriend had the pizza burger and it tasted great too! I recommend this place for burgers in Helena for sure! read more

Big mistake going to this place. A group of us were there (party of 4) on 7/24/15, Drinks must have been buy one get one free ( bartender gets free one). The food is sub par, if you actually get what you order. We were told the reason one food order was not field (nachos) was because the power was off the day before. Basic burgers and other similar fast food fare, but done pretty good for a bar type establishment. Mushroom Swiss burger was properly cooked, delicious and the whole half pound they advertise, the gravy on the burger was a tasty addition I've not encountered before, is this a southern thing? $5 cover on entry was unwelcome, but the band was worth it once they got on stage, drinks not cheapo but reasonable.
