This company came out and gave an estimate that was quite expensive ($187 for the service call and then $235 per bedroom ceiling fan to put in 42 inch ceiling fans that we had already bought for $70 each at Home Depot in two bedrooms), when we decided to look for other quotes, got a call later from a male at their company who scolded at me because we didn't do the work and said something to the effect "you think we just come out and do this for free and then hung up on me." this is where customer service has met its demise apparently. read more

Had a price in mind for the work I wanted done. However upon inspection, the wiring... unsurprisingly... was not completely safe in my house. We bought only a few years ago and have discovered similar instances around the house, not just with electrical. Anyway, it was easily explained to me the situation and a few clear decisions were explained as well by the technician from Cousino. The guy was professional, easy going, not trying to oversell anything, but coming at it from a "looking out for you" kind of manner. Unfortunately, my project just became a little less simple and I expected that to reflect in the price too. I'll say this, the job was done quickly, everything looks great, I feel confident in the work and safer knowing why he had to do what he did. The best part was the price was completely reasonable! My interaction with Cousino had some ups and downs, but in the end they showed me they value their customers, do good work, and so I would recommend them. Cousino had great turn around timing if you're flexible, they did not negotiate on pricing with me but I will say they are "competitive" (YMMV), and if you notice anything strange afterwards just contact them readily so they can come diagnose and fix it. STORY: They installed a 240v outlet for me which works well, but unfortunately when they moved my AC breaker up in the panel it got mis-wired which shut off my AC. However to begin I know my AC is 14yo and I just moved in so I figured it was the AC and not them. I spent 3 days in a hot house, $60 in parts thinking it was the AC, and a $85 home warranty claim just to diagnose myself it was the wires to the breaker. I contacted Cousino to explain what happened, and the hell i went through. They sent someone out to review the panel right away (after I fixed it) and verified it was safe and proper. I asked if they could make things right and at the end of it all they did. LESSON LEARNED: If you you think the contractor may have caused a fault get them back out ASAP. If i had called them up front they could have readily diagnosed the Mis-wire and saved me trouble. If you do diagnose it yourself just take good photos and videos to help explain what you found. Competent and professional service person, but outrageous pricing: I was charged $170 to change out a simple ballast that retails for $20 at Home Depot. Recently had some work done at my house. Started with a journeyman and a helper. Andy and Brian were great! Towards the end of the day another guy came to help and he was good too. I didn't get his name. They were all clean, friendly and did great work. I originally felt the price was on the high end but after I saw the effort they put in to keep my house clean I would not hesitate to hire them again. I won't even call anywhere else. I got two other estimates for this job and went with Cousino Electric because they were the only ones offering to use their own Drywall repair guy if repairs were needed. The guys took their time and no repairs were needed but I appreciated they fact that I didn't have to find another contractor to come to my home. They were very good and understanding with my dogs, as they tend to be overwhelming. In conclusion I will be calling these guys for anything in the future and I suggest you do too. read more

I'm somewhat handy, but weakest with electrical. Had an issue where couple outlets suddenly went dead; checked breakers (for proper voltage too), replaced actual outlets - nothing worked. I'm 46yrs old and never called an electrician before. Cousino's professionalism started when I called; they told me exactly what to expect and how they do things so there were no surprises. They squeezed me in same day and showed up on time (with a courtesy call). Kyle the electrician was fantastic - polite, professional, neat (covered shoes so not to bring snow/dirt in the house), and got to work right away. Need Lucas county inspection done Hired company to do some electrical work. I tried to contact contractor for two days after work was Completed to talk to him about final inspection to be done by Lucas county. Inspector shows up at property with no warning and says he won't do inspection until plumbing electrical and structural is all completed. We got final bill from Cusino's electric and we refused to pay until final inspection is done. He has threatened us with lien and attorney we want him to do the final inspection on HIS WORK. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS U CAN GET. WE HAVE CURRENTLY FILED A COMPLAINT WITH BBB AND HAVE GOTTEN OUR ATTONEY INVOLVED. Stop and ask yourself. I could be wrong but why would I take the time to post a review and if I'm right about my complaint do you really want an experience with a contractor like we have had. Look at BG review on here.
