This place changed owners a few years ago and has improved vastly. The fields have mostly been updated and the staff is more engaged, among many other things. I've been going here for many years and it keeps getting better in my opinion. To be fair, paintball is an expensive sport to play. If it's your first time playing, watch a YouTube video or two about what to expect before going. I will always recommend upgrading your rental, or taking your own gear. they have a bunch of super fun and very different courses: one on a football field, one with some makeshift trenches, one that's like a little village. The refs give very clear directions. The paint washes off easily. The paint grenades didn't work at all, though. Very affordable, too! read more

I really enjoyed playing here. purchased livingsocial deal and it was worth it. It's better to buy a box of paintballs (5000 balls) than buying $20 (500 balls). Good for group and they have several areas for you to play. come early and make sure you have water to hydrate. you can bring cooler for food and drinks. wear something that you are comfortable. read more

Never mentioned the turf field so this update is for the guys who wish to play competitively: The staff here are on point with their turf field whenever a bunker deflates. Also their bunkers are anchored down by bricks. Anybody who has went to Pev's understands the woes of an unanchored bunker. I don't know how often they change their layout, but not many people go to Skyline to play on turf and honestly, I like it that way. I love being able to practice and do drills on my own time whenever I want because there's nobody else there. Only issue I can complain about is that there are bumps on the turf which grabbed my legs during a slide, threatening to make my legs move in unnatural ways. If you need to practice, go to Skyline. Call Sue and make "reservations". And by reservations, I mean you will not own the field. You're just letting her know you're coming to play on turf. A bit misleading, but it's still worth visiting. NOTE: If you're playing on turf, you're not allowed to wear metal or hard plastic cleats. read more

Flew out to the east coast from Oregon for a special event planned to surprise the other main guy for Gaggle Of Noobs. Worked with Sue and the refs to hide me and another Gaggler in the paint room, including the 8 foot tall trophy we had for the guy, and thanks to this extra mile, it was a rousing success! The fields are good...there's one field that's somewhat near where players gather by the proshop that could be netted off better (there was a few times with stray paintballs...probably lobbed *over* the netting from within the field...came landing in our area), but I've got no issue with the field layouts, variations, sizes...it's all great! There's a mixture of woodsball, hyperball, a town-ish setup...if you want it, it's at Skyline! (Additionally, the refs quickly stopped what they were doing and ran out to dealt with whomever was shooting those errant paintballs) read more

The fields are well laid out and fun and the refs are fair and safety conscious. The prices are right and the family that runs the field want to make sure you have a good time. Look for the Groupons, you can't beat the price. I would give them 5 stars but they need to keep the fields a little cleaner (get rid of the weeds and thickets). read more

Went for my first time with 10 of my friends. The staff there were really great and made you feel comfortable and many of us had never been paint balling before. Yes, it is expensive but like any business they have to make a profit and plus they do have Groupon deals sometimes. I'm going to purchase my first marker this week and plan to go back to play soon. read more

If you are looking for something fun and different to do in DC you definitely have to check out Skyline Paintball! They are a "short" drive from the city and loaded with fun. They have great Groupon deals and are perfect for a group of people. They have 14 different course to play on and cater to all skill levels. You really HAVE to go there, I insist on it. read more

Got the Groupon at the beginning of this summer and realized it was going to expire soon, so we went out to Skyline yesterday. Apparently a lot of people were also thinking the same way, since the walk-on group was HUGE. Ended up having a relatively long wait because of our timing, but everyone was very apologetic about it and once we got to play it was great. The refs were all super friendly and chatty, which is one of the things that offset the wait for me. On busy days they could probably do with having one more person at the register, but otherwise we were very happy and will definitely be going back. read more

This Place is WONDERFULLLLLLLLL! Best paintball center in Virginia in my opinion! The staff here are so friendly! and its extremely down to earth. My fiance and i had a groupon deal (40$ for two people all day admission with gun rental and 500 balls free) and stayed the whole day playing. It was Extreme! they had nice clean fields (we played on about 7 ) and since we were beginners we got great advice from our ref Billy and the guy inside Chris. We had a ball and we'll definantly come back! They don't combine beginner players and advanced which was great. Overall best paintball experience EVER! :) read more

Had a great day of paintball! Refs were great, teams were fair, but my review really doesnt begin until the end of the day. I had vehicle trouble after playing PB all day. Well the staff was extremely helpful and said they would stay as long as it took to get it resolved. They offered whatever assistance they could and even went as far as giving cold drinks to my group as it was 95 degrees. This was friendly and pleasant staff at its finest. I played as a small group of guys and girls for a birthday get together, which mostly had beginners and people who haven't played in years. It was cheaper than the public games (and Groupon I think), plus I don't know how fun it would be to play a pick-up game. The public group I saw was pretty intense and I probably wouldn't have had as much fun. As a small group we had our own ref, Jacob, who was awesome. Very patient, let us do our thing, respected us. The fields were cool, nothing to compare to but a good mix of wooded and constructed areas. Would totally recommend read more

Ive played paintball a bunch 10 years ago, but went to skyline and to get back into the sport for a weekend. I rented guns and had to buy Skylines paint at the course (standard for a paintball course) They people working were very pleasant and helpful and helped me and a friend get on the course on a very busy day (St Patricks Day) We had now reservation, and they were booked up. But the women working the front desk, called us back and said she could squeeze us in. We made the 1 hour trek to Strasburg from Dc, and had blast all day. Good course not too big, but it works. The town and woods (rocks) course were my favorite. Theonly down side, is that they could use 2 more courses areas to really add some diversity to the fields. They did have a Speedball court, which I did not use. They only bad thing was during 2 games, they split walk ones into 2 teams. one team was all new playes who were very young, the others were semi new, and 15-25. The younger team got detroyed in about 2 minutes. They needed to take more time to asses skill/ age and not just numbers to make teams even. Other than that, Id go back, they are cheaper than others (more popular fields) Ive been to in the DC area read more

I like supporting local businesses but have a hard time doing that when you feel ripped off. I spent $75 to take my boys to Zombie Hunt before Halloween. My boys we're excited. Bought the tickets online, showed up and that's where all the problems began. Total dysfunction. Not enough employees too handle the crowd. They advertise two wagons due to popular demand but barely had one running because the driver had to handle a wagon plus a truck for those who bought VIP passes. Our passes were for 7pm yet they offer a disclaimer that you're not guaranteed that time, thats fine but when you literally move 10 feet in a line in 3 hours because they only don't have enough employees or falsely advertise two wagons going it's bs. They offered no refunds, never got our ride and left feeling robbed. Thanks for nothing. read more

We purchased our tickets in advance online for zombie paintball. We arrived 30 mins early so we would have plenty of time to check in and do our waivers. The kids were very excited. They advertised that they had 2 wagons running, but they did not. They were understaffed, unprepared, and very disorganized. They only had 2 filthy portable toilets with zero lighting for over 200 people. We stood in line for over 3 hours, and finally left due to miserable kids and rain. They refuse refunds, so we could not get our money back. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Wow. That was a blast. I haven't done this in 20 years and was pleasantly surprised to see how good the standard rental guns were. Staff was very helpful and friendly. They break teams into beginners and advanced. They have a nice variety of fields from a 2 story castle to all natural rock formations. All in all a great time. Highly recommend. read more

Let me start out by saying that the fields are pretty nice, some have a good woodsy feel to them. Now lets begin. It was my sons birthday and he wanted to try a different field than our usual so he decided on Skyline (10/22/16), It was 40 minutes farther than we normally go, took us 90 to get there. The drive was fairly easy and not complicated, that part i liked, pretty straight shot. We turned onto the road which was rocky but manageable (would be nice to remove those softball size rocks out of that road). We park the car and brought everything out and set it on the table. We walked up to the registration counter paid for our entry and got a case of premium paint which cost about $10 or $15 more, which is understandable because our guns shoot smoother with that. We then go back to the table and start getting the gear and guns prepped. One of the employees comes over to our table and explains that we cannot use the guns we brought and that we could use rentals from the shack.We were taken back a bit and confused , and then an older gentleman came up to us and told the employee to go away. He then told us not to worry, continue to get our stuff ready and everything will be fine. Cool we thought, we can use our stuff and be divided between the teams to be fair. About 5 minutes later yet another employee comes up to us and proceeds re-iterate what the first one had said and tells us we can't use our guns with the walk on group and we can use rentals to play with them and when more people came with electronic guns we can join them. Or, if we wanted we can stay and play 2v1 with our guns (what fun :/). What choice did we really have? We said whatever and got the rental guns they provided to play with the walk on group. 1st game in i shot around 6 rounds and got shot out. second game i shot 1 round and the gun stopped working. Apparently the hopper stopped feeding paintballs to shoot. So i went over to the shack to tell the employees whats wrong, after about 10 minutes they couldn't fix it and brought me another gun. We then started the 3rd game of the day . The game went fast and i called myself out after notices the gun was shooting oddly. I went to the dead zone and waited for my son and then noticed the gun they had just given me was out of air. Why would they give me a replacement with no air? I went down to the shack to fill up and by the time i got to the field it had started so i missed that game as well. My son and his friend also told me the guns they received was extremely dirty in the barrel and hopper when they got it as well. I don'y know if they clean their rentals or not, but if they do its just on the outside, no wonder these shots were so inconsistent and horrible. We decided to to play 2 more games but after poor gun performance we couldn't deal with it anymore and left. So all day no other walk on group came that had electronic guns that we could join. We had even asked the ref if it was ok with the group if we could use our guns, the ref constantly said he couldn't do that. I asked my team and they didn't care, he didn't even ask anyone. TLDR: Went to Skyline ha my own gun and couldn't use it. Rentals were bad , Refs were below average. IF you have your own electronic gun, go elsewhere, If you rent good luck and clean it after they give it to you . read more

I made reservations for a private group of 12 and couldn't be happier. The equipment worked well the entire time and the different fields were well put together ("town" was by far the best). We had so much fun we extended our play time another 1.5 hours. Staff was pleasant and helpful, would definitely come back. Side note: the basic rental comes with a mask and gun but paying extra for a belt and two extra hoppers was worth the convenience. The smoke Grenade was ok and the paintball Grenade was largely worthless. read more

I actually did not get to visit Skyline Paintball, which is unfortunate because I did hear good things about it. However, I was highly disappointed because, due to unforeseen circumstances, I was not able to keep my reservation. I called to cancel with well over seven days notice, but was told that I woud still forfeit my deposit of $100. I think that that is poor practice, whether it is company policy or not. I find it highly unreasonable and not reflective of good customer service. It's paintball- I didn't schedule brain surgery. I would advise others to think long and hard before you put a deposit down because you won't get it back. Shame on you Skyline. read more

Beast location. Super affordable with the groupons and special deals that they are constantly doing. They will give you the groupon price for the next few visits as well, if you ask. The games are well paced, ten minutes per round, with two rounds per game. If you show up at opening, it will take the entire day to get through all of their courses. There is like maybe 10 of them, all diverse terrain, ranging from towns, to woods, industrial, forts, and open fields. They offer a speedball location. The staff is amazing. The friendliest and most informative I have ever seen at a paintball location. They break every two games to refill air. They allow you to bring paint and sale about five brands. The rental equipment is standard. Two containers for paint, belt, standard (crappy) face piece, and a good ole Tippmann 98 Custom. Great location. My fiance and I go here usually twice a year for a nice getaway. read more
