It's with a mixed set of emotions to leave a review like this because of the good: we have a wonderful dog who really fit our family perfectly and had no serious issues. However, our experience (we bought a puppy in June 2015) really did leave a lot to be desired. We were impressed with the training Kerry does for puppies, which is pretty unheard of - most breeders don't train puppies very much if at all. This sealed the deal for us to buy from her. The strange logistics of arranging an appointment did not scare us away. We brought home a happy puppy, but the trouble began merely a couple of days later, when our dog was visibly sick. We ended up taking her to the vet-ER shortly thereafter and it turned out she had developed pneumonia and came to us sick per the evaluation of both our vet and the doctors at Tufts. She had to stay overnight and be heavily medicated but she pulled through. In all of this, we spent over $1K+ on medical bills, after paying the high-end breeder price that Cove Angels charges just days before. Meanwhile we were able to get in contact with Kerry only once, at the onset of the situation, where Kerry only wanted to know if the dog's life was in danger - we said it appeared not. Beyond that, and not for a lack of effort (email, phone, voicemails, text), we couldn't any response. We were expecting to discuss these unexpected medical bills from a dog that came to us sick but there was no answer on the side. Reading what other people's experience was below, it does suggest a pattern of issues of some kind, which I'm not intending to suggest involves fraudulent intent in any way - it sounds more like poor execution and/or a lack of knowledge around the things you'd expect from someone people pay thousands of dollars to for 'designer' dogs. What I can say though is that her accountability is a problem and it appears that her warranty is all walk, with no talk - and we didn't have the time and resources to invest in legal avenues to get help in that regard but it really shouldn't require that. In the end, what you pay for in a breeder is a reliable capability to select dogs who have desirable traits and take care of them in the process as well as be responsible for the consequences of those traits being as promised - in this case, this capability appears to be inconsistent at best and the responsibility part is not up to par either. I ADORE my cove angels golden doodle. The most sweet and gentle soul ever. There is not a single annoying trait that this dog has. He is gentle and sweet and obedient and fun. Just the best dog ever. I have had many dogs. Always had a huge soft spot for my first and never thought another dog would compare...but this guy. He's the best. Innate characteristics make this dog an amazing family pet. Whatever fleas or smells folks complain about can't outweigh the positive and the facts that we walked away with an incredibly sweet, gentle, calm dog. read more

If I had trusted my instincts I never would have purchased our puppy from Cove Angels. I ignored all the red flags because we got caught up in the excitement of owning one of the adorable puppies. The first red flag was the odor. When I entered Kerry's house, I was met with a foul odor, but trying to remain non-judgmental, I assumed it was just the way a house full of dogs smells. I ignored it. However, when we were viewing the puppies, they were peeing and pooping all over the carpeted family room, and Kerry didn't care. My throat actually burned after visiting with the dogs. The second red flag was the sheer number of puppies available to us. Kerry's house is average size, but there were puppies of all ages. In one visit we saw several adult dogs running in the yard, and several litters. There were 4 day-old puppies, 4 week-old puppies, 9 week-old puppies, 12 week-old puppies, 4 month-old puppies and this was just a sampling. I was never invited downstairs, but I shudder to think how many dogs were kept in that basement. The third red flag was waving the day we picked up our puppy. At first Kerry brought us the wrong puppy, and then she did it again. She had no record of the puppy we had painstakingly selected. When she was filling out the contract, she didn't know who the mother of our puppy was. Finally, she scribbled some name down, but I'm still not certain it is the actual mother of our puppy. I was never allowed to see the mother, only the father. If my radar wasn't up by now, it was when I looked at the contract and noticed that the Golden Doodle we paid over $2,100. for was actually a cross between a Golden Doodle and Labradoodle. We were very clear that we wanted a Golden Doodle. At this point my 2 children had fallen in love with Luna, and we didn't want to give her up, so we ignored the misrepresentation. The final red flag was when we took Luna out to potty before she got in the car for the hour long ride to our house. We were told that she had never been outside once since she was born 9 weeks ago. It was too cold. Well, yes it was cold and it was still cold when we brought Luna home, but we somehow managed to take her out 20 times a day despite the New England weather. Luna acted like a deer in headlights when she stepped on snow for the first time. She never did potty before the car ride because she obviously had no idea that dogs pee outside. Sadly, our problems only worsened once we got Luna home. She had a nasty case of parasites which took 2 rounds of antibiotics to clear up. She was peeing and pooping in her crate every day for the first 2 weeks. Luna certainly wasn't proving to be the house trained dog we were promised. After that Luna developed/had a urinary tract infection, which also took 2 rounds of antibiotics to cure. The only reason I discovered the UTI was because she was constantly peeing all over the house and I called my vet because I was afraid I was giving her too much water. The vet ordered a round of tests because she said what we were experiencing with Luna was not normal. Now Luna is almost 7 months old, and despite the private and group training classes, and our herculean efforts to train her, Luna still isn't house broken. She pees in the house every day, even thought she is watched vigilantly, taken out constantly and fed on a schedule. We have read every piece of literature on the house breaking and asked every expert, and we can't get the problem under control. I have come to the realization, that we bought a very expensive puppy mill dog. The instinct to relieve herself outside was destroyed because of the inhumane conditions that Luna lived in for 9 weeks. We are at our wits end trying to house break our Cove Angel puppy. The last straw was when we called Kerry and sent her a letter alerting her to the health issues Luna has experienced, and we never heard back. If i had to do it all over again, I would never have bought a puppy from Cove Angels. There are many wonderful breeders out there, so seek them out and trust your instincts! read more

Very unprofessional. I thought the breeder was genuine but it turns out she was not. I had to jump through hoops to get the paperwork and only some of the money I got back from my puppy's first sick vet visit 4 days after I got her. Ear infections, ear mites, parasite and underweight. It was a very stressful experience. I also wanted to add that my dog was suppose to not shed or very little. We are beyond happy choosing Cove Angels as our breeder!!! We were interested in the Bernedoodle breed & were delighted to have found a breeder in Mass. Kerry is the most patient, knowledgeable, warm, and kind breeder we could have hoped for! We scheduled many visits through her Dad, Bill, who was very accommodating. We asked many, many questions due to my Husbands allergies and 10yr old Son wanting a dog, but a little hesitant of dogs if they misbehave. Kerry & Michael never rushed us, always made us feel so comfortable, and showed us how to handle our puppy through the extended boot camp that was well worth paying extra for! We have had our puppy for a month now, and can't imagine our Family without him. We get stopped and asked where we got him and some people even ask to take his picture! I can't say enough about this breeder and highly recommend Kerry if you're interested in any of the Doodle breeds. No shedding and the softest, sweetest dog if you follow Kerry's detailed advice on how to train him. This is a copy of the email I sent Kerry: The adjustment for Bailey and us has been very hard. You had suggested she was crate trained which is not the case. She barks and howls for over an hour when placed in there. Also, it is concerning that at nearly 6 months you hadn't house trained her either. Again you suggested this was taken care of. The veterinarian is very concerned about how underweight she is. While I do love Bailey, I question the care that she received with you. It is worrisome that she would be underweight and have loose stools for every bowl movement. Two days home with us resulted in over $300 of veterinarian costs. I am disappointed that for the money we paid and considering the age of our puppy that we have had so many obstacles. You present yourself as someone who loves your dogs but I do worry about their pre-adoption treatment. It should also be noted that 3 families in my town adopted golden doodles from her and all 3 brought home puppies with giardia. When I picked up Bailey she didn't give me the signed paperwork with her immunizations. I know that reading reviews isn't always accurate and that people need to take all of them with a grain of salt, but please be wary when adopting from Kerry. read more

We purchased an aussiedoodle from Kerry in August. She passed away in December at 6 months old due to a congenital kidney disease passed on by her parents. I cannot express how devastating it was to watch our baby go into kidney failure and die despite administering SQ fluids and 6 medications daily for 2 months. I miss our puppy every single day. We spent over $10,000 on vet bills in just 2 months. Kerry knows all of this and is still breeding our puppy's parents and planning to breed her siblings. We have conformation from 3 vets that this condition is genetic and could be passed on to any other puppies in the future. These particular dogs should never be breed again. Beware of purchasing a puppy for Kerry. Our girl was the light of our lives and taken far too young. We don't want anyone else to ever have to go though what we did. read more

We purchased a puppy from Cove Angels back in January 2013. He is the heart of our family; we couldn't love him more! We recently found out in January of this year that our dog has lymphoma. We were all shocked as he is only 4-years-old and has always been very healthy. Our family was devastated upon receiving this news. I called Kerry to let her know and to see if his litter mates may have had any similar diagnosis. After a week or so of no response on her end my husband sent a similar e-mail. Again there was no response! How can someone who breeds and supposedly loves her animals have no compassion or words of sympathy to reply to us? We are super happy with our dog Harley we got from Cove Angels -Summer of 2018. Georgia was our pup's mom. I don't recall the Male parent's name. We have a friend with an Amazing Goldendoodle from Cove Angels who found them from his friend with an alumni so needless to say, we had a head start checking them out - but we did look at other breeders and we liked Cove Angels the best. Our dog is happy, smart and ridiculously good with our high energy 6yo. Kerry, the owner is AMAZING. The education she gave us leading to picking the pup up was so helpful. She had a couple litters at the time and she was so great working with my 6and8yo to pick out the perfect dog. We ended up with a total love muffin. We are already thinking about #2. Don't let some of the reviews discourage you from checking her facility out. The house was always super clean when we visited with happy dogs all over the place. She LOVES them. I will say communication wasn't perfect with the coordinator, but not a huge issue, more so, we inadvertently surprised Kerry once. This place is really great. We just adopted an 8 week old Bernedoodle pup from Kerry. Our experience has been incredibly positive! After reading these reviews I was a bit apprehensive but my interactions with Kerry all along calmed all my fears. She delivered to us a healthy, well adjusted pup. We are so happy with our puppy from Cove Angels. The whole experience was incredible. We first visited with Kerry about a month before we picked out Tucker. We picked Tucker when he was 12 days old and we were always welcome back to visit. One time we dropped in with my two daughters age 7 and 9 and three nieces and we were welcomed to stay and play with Tucker and the other puppies. Tucker has now been home a week and has adjusted so well. He has the best disposition, he is calm and sweet and a fast learner. I would highly recommend Cove Angels. I must say our dogs personality is calm He's the best but He SHEDS like crazy and we were told by Kerry and her husband he wouldn't also that he was a double doodle We had a DNA test he's 50% poodle with 25% golden and 25% ? Several other breeds. He looks like a lab We did not see the parents we could not go downstairs I was in a vulnerable time and fell in love with him so it was my own fault. Communication after the "sale" was non existent I did get the impression she cared about the dogs but this was 2014 and maybe things changed-- we paid a lot and I feel the truth was not really spoken to us. They had a puppy left that know one "had been interested in." I called on a Monday and said I was interested and I would call back to confirm with my wife. We wanted him for Christmas and they offered him for $800 instead of the normal $950. I call back on Wednesday to schedule a time to pick up and they tell me someone sent them a message through their website that they wanted the puppy. The breeder tells me that if I called one hour sooner, it would have been mine. All the while they took 3 hours to try to connect with this "online interest" to confirm if they wanted the puppy. I've never dealt with someone who lets a website inquiry trump a multiple person interaction. read more

We had some very unusual interactions with Bill & Kerry of Cove Angels. Bill answers the phone & schedules the appointments to visit the pups. Kerry handles the actual visits. We visited the pups on a Saturday & decided between 2 after only being able to see 4, even though there were many more. They don't allow you downstairs where the puppies & parents are supposedly are. Kerry stated when we visited that all of the parents of the pups are hers and on site but that isn't true. She said we could call on Sunday to confirm what we wanted. I called and told Bill which pup we wanted. I asked for him to have her call me so we could talk about next steps. No one called me back. I called a few more times and didn't get a call until the following Wednesday. At this time we went back to the conversation of the original 2 pups we picked and ended the conversation with the understanding Kerry would send me pictures of the two dogs. 2 days go by and i don't hear from Cove Angels and i don't receive pictures. When i call on Friday Bill says Kerry has been trying to call me and left messages. This was not true. Bill kept calling my office and not my cell as i requested but i have caller ID at work and they never called like they claimed to, nor did anyone leave a message. She finally sends me pictures hours later and i ask if we can come tomorrow. She says Yes. I ask if we can come in the morning. She says no she has appointments. She says she will call me before 9. She never calls me before 9 on Friday night or before 9 am Saturday morning. So i call AGAIN. I ask Bill what time can we come today. He says "Oh you can't come today she is completely booked." WOW two people that live in the same house can't organize themselves and get on the same page for a customer who they have been dealing with for an ENTIRE WEEK!? I ask if we can come tomorrow to get our puppy? Bill says yes, you can come tomorrow at 2pm. We go out and buy everything we need or think we need because BIll gives us a list but also says he doesn't know if Kerry will give us a collar or leash? We arrive at Cove Drive at 1:55pm and a man comes out to greet me, my husband and two children. He says Kerry is sick today and can't show us the dogs. We just drove 45 minutes for nothing! My 3 year old asks immediately if we can see our dog and and 5 year old wants to know why we can't have a puppy today. I'd like to know the same thing. No one called us to cancel. They let us drive all the way there. He then asks if we had an appointment? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Yes we had an appointment! The entire process was the most bizarre thing i've ever encountered. They are unorganized and extremely unprofessional. They can't keep appointments straight, all of the dogs do not live on site and she could only tell me the father of the puppies we looked at, not the mother. I had such a strange feeling about the whole thing, i came here to see if there were reviews and i read about the puppy she sold with congenital defects and then DENIED the puppy was sold by her. That is completely ridiculous. Taking your broken hearted kids home without a puppy they thought they were getting is one of the worst feelings i could have ever had. A simple phone call to cancel would have sufficed. The man who answered told us to call Bill and reschedule. NO THANKS. This place is a nightmare and headache for buyers. BEWARE. read more

My husband and I had a very positive experience with cove angels. We met with Kerry first before making the final decision to get a dog. She sat with us for as long as we needed and answered any questions we had and also to make sure we were ready to be dog owners. Kerry is truly passionate and knowledgeable about the dogs she breeds. She really cares about what type of environment her dogs are going home to. She never pressured us into buying a dog. We scheduled an appointment for a second visit a few months later and ended up picking out our double doodle when he was 3.5 weeks old. We took him home at 9.5 weeks old, but they allowed us to visit our puppy whenever we wanted. We absolutely love him!! He is healthy, playful, lovable, well tempered and adorable. My husband and I got an Aussiedoodle from Kerry and we couldn't be happier with our experience. I did read the negative reviews on here before we went, but I am SO glad I didn't listen and took them with a grain of salt. Most people only come here to post their bad experiences. And for someone who has been breeding as long as she has with hundreds of puppies being adopted from her, there's only a handful of people unhappy. You can't please everyone. Anyways, we originally were looking at her labradoodle puppies. They were 5 weeks old and adorable. From the moment we got to her home, we felt welcomed...especially by her dog Reba who greeted us at the door. She sat with us and asked what we were looking for. We told her a male labradoodle. She brought the 3 males in for us to meet. She then sat with us going over how to train the puppies to be the most well behaved dog. Listen to her instructions because she's right!! After 2 hours of talking with her she told us about her Aussiedoodle puppies she had. Us,not knowing what one was she brought in the mother then two puppies from the litter that were left. Two adorable black female aussiedoodles. We instantly fell in love with one. Overall, Kerry sat and talked with us for 3 hours!!! We never felt rushed. In fact, we felt bad for another couple who had arrived and were waiting but to not be rushed and have a breeder take their time with you is quality you hardly see. We left Cove Angels with an 8 week old female Aussiedoodle, Nellie, who we are absolutely in love with. I'm so glad we were open minded because we wouldn't have the best member of our family if we hadn't. It also just goes to show that picking a puppy is an experience and when you find the right one you just know. Our Nellie, has had perfect vet visits, is crate trained, knew her name and to sit the first week, and loves being outdoors!! You can tell that all the puppies are well loved by Kerry and Mike and that they get plenty of outdoor time! If we ever decide to get another dog, we would absolutely ONLY go through Kerry! read more

I am severely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and irresponsibility this breeder has shown. Kerry Angell, of Cove Angels, is breeding Goldendoodles that have a genetic disorder and she does not alert buyers that their puppy may suffer from a congenital deformity. I paid $2,200 for a Goldendoodle from one of her litters in June of 2014 and within 6 weeks I noticed a issue with the puppy's eye. I took him to two Veterinarians who diagnosed a problem called Nictatating Membrane Cartilage. This genetic deformity requires surgical correction and costs over $2,000, with no guarantee the problem will be completely resolved . When I notified Kerry about the eye deformity and that it is likely to be passed on to other puppies through her breeding business, she denied that my puppy came from Cove Angels. I was shocked - I have the paperwork and the canceled check to prove that he was purchased from her litter. Please be fore-warned - Kerry of Cove Angels is knowingly passing on a genetic disorder through her breeding business and charging top dollar for puppies who initially appear to be healthy but may develop physical problems later on.
